its_o equator_fw-la and_o if_o it_o be_v so_o i_o will_v fain_o know_v by_o what_o mean_v the_o vapour_n will_v flow_v from_o the_o pole_n to_o the_o equator_fw-la but_o the_o theorist_n give_v we_o a_o account_n how_o the_o earth_n come_v to_o be_v form_v after_o the_o fashion_n of_o a_o oblong_a spheroid_fw-fr it_o be_v true_a say_v he_o if_o the_o earth_n be_v as_o fluid_v a_o substance_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o creation_n and_o stand_v immovable_a without_o turn_v round_o its_o own_o axis_n it_o will_v certain_o settle_v itself_o into_o a_o spherical_a figure_n but_o because_o it_o turn_v very_o swift_o round_o its_o axis_n the_o fluid_a by_o that_o agitation_n will_v endeavour_v to_o recede_v from_o its_o centre_n of_o motion_n and_o form_n itself_o into_o a_o figure_n very_o near_o oval_a as_o we_o see_v in_o the_o sea_n or_o in_o any_o lake_n when_o the_o water_n be_v drive_v by_o the_o wind_n upon_o the_o land_n the_o wave_n extend_v themselves_o in_o length_n so_o in_o excellent_a the_o theorist_n be_v at_o draw_v conclusion_n i_o will_v put_v this_o reason_n in_o other_o word_n thus_o all_o body_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o earth_n diurnal_a rotation_n do_v endeavour_n to_o recede_v from_o the_o axis_n of_o their_o motion_n but_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o pressure_n of_o the_o air_n and_o the_o straightness_n of_o the_o orb_n they_o can_v recede_v from_o the_o axis_n of_o their_o motion_n therefore_o they_o will_v move_v towards_o the_o pole_n where_o they_o will_v come_v near_o to_o the_o axis_n of_o their_o motion_n as_o if_o you_o will_v suppose_v a_o body_n at_o the_o aequator_fw-la which_o do_v endeavour_n to_o recede_v from_o the_o axis_n of_o its_o motion_n but_o because_o it_o can_v quite_o fly_v off_o and_o get_v away_o therefore_o it_o will_v move_v towards_o the_o pole_n that_o be_v it_o will_v come_v near_o to_o the_o axis_n of_o its_o motion_n than_o if_o it_o have_v stay_v at_o the_o aequator_fw-la it_o seem_v to_o i_o that_o the_o theorist_n in_o this_o part_n have_v endeavour_v to_o give_v we_o a_o proof_n of_o his_o great_a skill_n in_o logick_n for_o he_o from_o a_o possible_a supposition_n have_v endeavour_v direct_o to_o prove_v its_o contradictory_n that_o be_v because_o all_o body_n do_v endeavour_v to_o recede_v from_o the_o axis_n of_o their_o motion_n therefore_o they_o will_v endeavour_v to_o go_v to_o the_o axis_n of_o their_o motion_n but_o i_o will_v now_o examine_v his_o argument_n more_o particular_o and_o first_o i_o will_v grant_v to_o the_o theorist_n that_o all_o body_n turn_v round_o upon_o the_o surface_n of_o the_o antediluvian_n world_n certain_o there_o can_v be_v no_o necessity_n for_o a_o deluge_n in_o that_o case_n except_o it_o be_v to_o cool_v the_o earth_n again_o after_o such_o a_o excessive_a heat_n which_o must_v have_v destroy_v all_o the_o animal_n plant_n and_o tree_n which_o be_v upon_o the_o earth_n and_o have_v turn_v they_o into_o glass_n but_o perhaps_o it_o may_v be_v urge_v that_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o sun_n do_v generate_v and_o prepare_v metal_n which_o lie_v hide_v in_o its_o bowel_n to_o which_o i_o answer_v that_o i_o have_v already_o bring_v a_o sufficient_a demonstration_n that_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o sun_n do_v pass_v but_o a_o very_a little_a way_n within_o the_o earth_n and_o therefore_o the_o opinion_n that_o metal_n be_v generate_v by_o the_o sun_n influence_n must_v be_v false_a for_o they_o general_o lie_v far_o hide_v within_o the_o bowel_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o therefore_o without_o the_o reach_n of_o the_o sun_n influence_n but_o notwithstanding_o all_o this_o shall_v i_o grant_v to_o the_o theorist_n that_o the_o heat_n of_o the_o sun_n have_v reach_v the_o abyss_n and_o have_v raise_v the_o vapour_n so_o that_o the_o crust_n of_o the_o earth_n fall_v down_o and_o be_v break_v in_o piece_n yet_o i_o can_v see_v how_o from_o thence_o there_o can_v follow_v any_o universal_a deluge_n or_o indeed_o any_o deluge_n at_o all_o though_o the_o theorist_n do_v endeavour_v to_o explain_v it_o thus_o when_o the_o earth_n say_v he_o be_v break_v and_o fall_v into_o the_o abyss_n a_o good_a
