they_o that_o they_o be_v still_o in_o authority_n and_o that_o their_o subject_n as_o they_o will_v answer_v the_o contrary_a to_o he_o be_v to_o keep_v in_o their_o obedience_n and_o duty_n to_o they_o notwithstanding_o so_o that_o wheresoever_o any_o forfeiture_n of_o crown_n come_v in_o it_o must_v be_v by_o some_o special_a provision_n in_o a_o people_n own_o law_n and_o where_o law_n make_v a_o forfeiture_n it_o will_v make_v a_o prince_n forfeit_n in_o a_o legal_a way_n by_o appoint_v some_o superior_a power_n to_o try_v the_o fact_n and_o judicial_o to_o declare_v the_o forfeiture_n but_o i_o do_v not_o conceive_v how_o there_o can_v be_v any_o legal_a way_n of_o forfeit_v where_o the_o prince_n be_v declare_v by_o law_n to_o be_v the_o sole_a supreme_a now_o if_o unautoritative_a act_n do_v not_o disautorize_v the_o person_n and_o make_v he_o sink_v into_o a_o private_a man_n but_o for_o all_o they_o a_o king_n continues_z still_o to_o be_v a_o king_n where_o be_v the_o argument_n for_o resistance_n from_o such_o inautoritative_a act_n yes_o 11._o say_v they_o when_o unjust_a act_n have_v no_o authority_n in_o virtue_n of_o self-defence_n we_o may_v something_o in_o his_o person_n to_o keep_v out_o all_o resistance_n and_o arm_v against_o our_o sovereign_n the_o argument_n for_o not_o resist_v or_o make_v a_o warlike_a defence_n against_o he_o be_v because_o he_o be_v king_n and_o then_o what_o take_v off_o this_o and_o can_v be_v a_o argument_n for_o resistance_n must_v be_v something_o that_o do_v unk_v he_o and_o since_o such_o unautoritative_a act_n be_v no_o forfeiture_n of_o crown_n it_o be_v plain_a whatever_o other_o immunity_n they_o be_v a_o ground_n of_o they_o be_v no_o ground_n of_o levy_v war_n or_o arm_a resistance_n this_o i_o take_v to_o be_v a_o very_a good_a and_o sufficient_a ground_n and_o i_o think_v it_o be_v the_o true_a ground_n of_o submission_n and_o passive_a obedience_n under_o illegal_a violence_n and_o persecution_n the_o illegal_a act_n i_o conceive_v have_v nothing_o in_o itself_o to_o bar_v self-defence_n have_v no_o authority_n to_o bear_v out_o and_o enforce_v it_o as_o may_v seem_v either_o from_o god_n or_o man._n not_o from_o god_n for_o if_o his_o law_n carry_v his_o authority_n and_o where_o do_v he_o display_v his_o authority_n if_o not_o in_o his_o law_n what_o be_v against_o his_o law_n be_v against_o his_o authority_n nor_o from_o man_n for_o the_o same_o reason_n of_o its_o be_v against_o humane_a law_n which_o carry_v their_o authority_n but_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o person_n be_v a_o bar_n to_o this_o way_n of_o defence_n against_o our_o sovereign_n and_o when_o the_o sovereign_n will_v do_v such_o illegal_a act_n though_o he_o have_v no_o authority_n to_o justify_v himself_o therein_o nor_o to_o make_v his_o unrighteous_a or_o illegal_a command_n real_o obligatory_a and_o bind_a yet_o because_o he_o be_v a_o person_n under_o who_o authority_n and_o obedience_n we_o all_o be_v this_o will_v be_v the_o effect_n of_o they_o see_v subject_n under_o government_n can_v have_v no_o remedy_n but_o what_o keep_v the_o order_n of_o government_n and_o must_v be_v content_a with_o so_o much_o as_o keep_v to_o that_o order_n allow_v till_o god_n alter_v his_o mind_n we_o can_v have_v no_o present_a redress_n and_o be_v his_o subject_n we_o can_v go_v to_o arm_v against_o he_o to_o defend_v or_o right_v ourselves_o and_o this_o be_v passive_a obedience_n so_o that_o when_o the_o irreligion_n or_o illegality_n of_o the_o command_n exempt_v we_o from_o any_o obligation_n to_o active_a performance_n this_o authority_n of_o his_o person_n do_v notwithstanding_o lay_v on_o we_o a_o obligation_n of_o keep_v under_o his_o obedience_n and_o make_v no_o warlike_a resistance_n and_o on_o these_o ground_n it_o will_v be_v easy_a to_o give_v a_o rational_a and_o plain_a answer_n to_o those_o question_n which_o the_o disputer_n for_o resistance_n shall_v think_v most_o pose_v about_o the_o authority_n of_o king_n when_o they_o act_v against_o law_n if_o it_o be_v ask_v what_o be_v a_o king_n authority_n when_o he_o do_v such_o illegal_a act_n it_o be_v just_a the_o same_o it_o be_v before_o he_o do_v they_o for_o as_o he_o do_v not_o get_v so_o he_o do_v not_o lose_v any_o rightful_a and_o real_a
