such_o by_o god_n appointment_n to_o speak_v altogether_o so_o like_o they_o be_v this_o the_o way_n i_o pray_v you_o to_o vindicate_v the_o divine_a attribute_n against_o they_o nor_o will_v such_o a_o exception_n salve_v it_o at_o all_o to_o say_v not_o that_o god_n can_v be_v the_o author_n of_o a_o sin_n to_o any_o but_o that_o he_o appoint_v the_o evil_a which_o be_v the_o consequent_a of_o sin_n to_o be_v upon_o their_o head_n who_o descend_v from_o the_o sinner_n for_o though_o sin_n and_o the_o sinner_n may_v be_v put_v for_o the_o punishment_n and_o the_o punish_v in_o some_o other_o place_n of_o scripture_n yet_o can_v neither_o be_v so_o understand_v or_o accept_v in_o this_o to_o the_o roman_n because_o the_o sin_n and_o the_o punishment_n both_o be_v here_o note_v again_o and_o again_o in_o their_o proper_a plain_a and_o distinct_a expression_n and_o comparison_n neither_o be_v there_o truth_n much_o less_o safety_n to_o the_o divine_a attribute_n to_o speak_v in_o such_o a_o sense_n as_o that_o god_n appoint_v by_o his_o decree_n the_o evil_a of_o punishment_n and_o misery_n which_o be_v the_o consequent_a of_o sin_n another_o and_o not_o their_o own_o to_o be_v upon_o their_o head_n outward_o and_o temporal_o though_o the_o pravity_n be_v never_o in_o their_o heart_n who_o descend_v from_o the_o sinner_n and_o yet_o descend_v not_o sinner_n themselves_o for_o thus_o though_o he_o labour_v not_o to_o speak_v out_o a_o man_n of_o any_o strict_a observation_n or_o narrow_a search_n must_v needs_o accept_v he_o and_o the_o rather_o because_o of_o former_a passage_n to_o this_o purpose_n not_o a_o few_o beside_o what_o necessity_n be_v there_o to_o wrap_v in_o here_o the_o divine_a constitute_n either_o for_o sin_n or_o suffering_n where_o the_o human_a constitute_n be_v so_o evident_a so_o sufficient_a it_o be_v but_o ask_v by_o who_o or_o by_o what_o be_v many_o make_a sinner_n and_o the_o answer_n be_v here_o already_o make_v to_o our_o hand_n by_o one_o man_n disobedience_n to_o bid_v we_o satisfy_v all_o our_o curiosity_n in_o that_o and_o to_o seek_v no_o further_o for_o a_o constitute_a cause_n nor_o indeed_o will_v the_o whole_a analogy_n endure_v it_o for_o the_o total_a comparison_n be_v not_o betwixt_o god_n and_o christ_n but_o betwixt_o christ_n and_o adam_n neither_o be_v all_o this_o excess_n or_o excellence_n of_o state_n wherein_o christ_n constitute_v we_o above_o that_o wherein_o adam_n destitute_v we_o speak_v with_o any_o respect_n to_o god_n but_o in_o a_o direct_a and_o complete_a respect_n to_o adam_n only_o so_o by_o the_o obedience_n of_o one_o shall_v many_o be_v make_v righteous_a by_o the_o obedience_n both_o active_a and_o passive_a of_o one_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n who_o alone_o be_v sufficient_a to_o satisfy_v for_o all_o sin_n original_a and_o actual_a shall_v many_o even_o all_o the_o elect_a all_o that_o believe_v be_v make_v righteous_a make_v as_o himself_o say_v well_o and_o constitute_v righteous_a and_o we_o hope_v he_o mean_v real_o righteous_a by_o the_o spirit_n impart_v as_o well_o as_o christ_n impute_v else_o where_o be_v all_o this_o contrariety_n of_o the_o comparison_n for_o what_o excess_n or_o excellency_n be_v it_o to_o make_v a_o thing_n real_o righteous_a if_o it_o be_v not_o real_o sinful_a and_o corrupt_a before_o and_o righteous_a that_o be_v not_o only_o happy_a but_o holy_a withal_o and_o therefore_o the_o sinner_n must_v needs_o be_v understand_v not_o only_o as_o miserable_a and_o afflict_a but_o as_o decline_v and_o corrupt_v and_o so_o signify_v we_o join_v with_o he_o as_o we_o have_v already_o approve_v he_o in_o what_o he_o say_v to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o paraphrase_n nevertheless_o we_o may_v not_o do_v so_o as_o touch_v the_o consequent_n or_o antecedent_n thereof_o therefore_o 1._o as_o to_o the_o antecedent_n his_o position_n which_o he_o intimate_v in_o opposition_n to_o the_o objection_n be_v that_o to_o deny_v original_a sin_n to_o be_v a_o sin_n proper_o and_o inherent_o be_v not_o express_o against_o the_o word_n of_o st._n paul_n in_o the_o 5_o chapter_n to_o the_o roman_n and_o for_o this_o he_o have_v these_o saying_n for_o as_o for_o reason_n he_o have_v more_o reason_n than_o to_o call_v they_o so_o 1._o he_o suppose_v the_o word_n be_v capable_a of_o interpretation_n otherwise_o than_o be_v vulgar_o pretend_v now_o i_o suppose_v that_o the_o interpretation_n of_o the_o primitive_a church_n council_n father_n papist_n protestant_n lutheran_n calvinist_n and_o the_o most_o learned_a and_o moderate_a of_o they_o be_v of_o other_o account_n with_o he_o than_o either_o as_o vulgar_a or_o as_o pretend_a yea_o a_o reason_n or_o the_o maior_fw-la of_o it_o be_v propound_v by_o he_o for_o any_o interpretation_n that_o do_v violence_n to_o right_a reason_n to_o religion_n to_o holiness_n of_o life_n and_o the_o divine_a attribute_n of_o god_n be_v therefore_o to_o be_v reject_v and_o another_o choose_v true_o but_o than_o it_o remain_v on_o his_o part_n to_o be_v prove_v that_o such_o a_o interpretation_n as_o be_v contrary_a to_o his_o understandiug_v do_v so_o in_o all_o or_o in_o some_o one_o of_o they_o at_o least_o and_o withal_o that_o a_o interpretation_n of_o his_o own_o understanding_n be_v not_o such_o in_o all_o or_o any_o one_o of_o they_o 2._o sin_n in_o the_o scripture_n be_v take_v for_o the_o punishment_n what_o then_o it_o be_v not_o so_o here_o nor_o in_o more_o than_o hundred_o of_o
