deliver_v they_o from_o the_o force_n and_o power_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n so_o that_o now_o it_o can_v not_o condemn_v they_o nor_o oblige_v and_o bind_v they_o to_o guilt_n and_o punishment_n as_o in_o former_a time_n see_v therefore_o the_o sting_n of_o sin_n be_v take_v away_o that_o it_o can_v condemn_v we_o let_v we_o not_o so_o fear_v it_o as_o that_o it_o shall_v move_v we_o desperate_o to_o cast_v away_o our_o weapon_n not_o dare_v to_o encounter_v it_o for_o though_o this_o our_o enemy_n may_v assault_v we_o yet_o it_o can_v overcome_v we_o though_o it_o may_v wound_v we_o yet_o it_o can_v kill_v we_o though_o it_o may_v give_v we_o a_o foil_n yet_o in_o the_o end_n we_o be_v sure_a of_o victory_n if_o we_o manful_o resist_v and_o labour_n to_o subdue_v it_o §_o sect._n 6_o second_o let_v we_o consider_v that_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o require_v of_o we_o under_o the_o gospel_n such_o exact_a and_o perfect_a righteousness_n law_n that_o the_o lord_n in_o the_o gospel_n require_v not_o perfect_a obedience_n to_o the_o law_n as_o be_v require_v under_o the_o law_n which_o be_v altogether_o impossible_a to_o our_o corrupt_a nature_n and_o be_v never_o to_o be_v find_v in_o any_o man_n our_o saviour_n christ_n except_v but_o only_o that_o we_o strive_v and_o labour_v to_o attain_v unto_o it_o he_o do_v not_o require_v of_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v at_o once_o free_a ourselves_o from_o the_o flesh_n and_o the_o corruption_n thereof_o but_o that_o we_o endeavour_n to_o mortify_v it_o according_a to_o the_o measure_n of_o grace_n and_o strength_n which_o we_o have_v receive_v from_o he_o he_o do_v not_o require_v of_o we_o that_o we_o be_v without_o sin_n but_o that_o sin_n do_v not_o rule_v in_o our_o mortal_a body_n that_o we_o shall_v like_v slave_n obey_v it_o willing_o in_o the_o lust_n thereof_o and_o that_o also_o we_o hate_v and_o abhor_v it_o do_v continual_o make_v war_n against_o it_o and_o subdue_v it_o by_o little_a and_o little_a see_v we_o grieve_v for_o his_o sin_n and_o imperfection_n and_o make_v confession_n hereof_o before_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n do_v implore_v mercy_n and_o forgiveness_n in_o christ_n jesus_n and_o if_o we_o offer_v unto_o god_n this_o righteousness_n it_o will_v be_v acceptable_a unto_o he_o notwithstanding_o our_o manifold_a imperfection_n for_o he_o measure_v our_o deed_n by_o our_o will_n and_o perform_v and_o can_v he_o esteem_v it_o as_o though_o it_o be_v perform_v so_o that_o he_o repute_v he_o righteous_a who_o earnest_o desire_v and_o labour_v to_o be_v righteous_a and_o he_o perfect_v who_o acknowledge_v and_o bewail_v his_o imperfection_n strive_v to_o attain_v to_o more_o perfection_n wherein_o he_o fit_o may_v be_v compare_v unto_o a_o tender_a love_a father_n who_o esteem_v of_o the_o least_o endeavour_n of_o his_o belove_a son_n more_o than_o of_o the_o best_a action_n of_o a_o servant_n because_o he_o regard_v not_o so_o much_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o action_n as_o the_o person_n and_o cheerful_a will_n of_o the_o agent_n §_o sect._n 7_o now_o the_o reason_n why_o the_o lord_n be_v perfect_o just_a will_v notwithstanding_o accept_v of_o our_o imperfect_a righteousness_n righteousness_n why_o the_o lord_n accept_v of_o our_o imperfect_a righteousness_n be_v first_o because_o we_o be_v make_v member_n of_o christ_n body_n our_o person_n be_v acceptable_a unto_o he_o and_o therefore_o our_o work_n also_o not_o in_o their_o own_o worthiness_n or_o for_o their_o own_o merit_n but_o in_o and_o for_o christ_n be_v accept_v the_o corruption_n and_o stain_n of_o they_o be_v wash_v away_o in_o his_o blood_n and_o the_o imperfection_n of_o they_o be_v cover_v with_o christ_n perfect_a righteousness_n and_o thus_o be_v adorn_v in_o the_o garment_n of_o our_o elder_a brother_n christ_n jesus_n we_o obtain_v the_o blessing_n of_o our_o heavenly_a father_n second_o our_o righteousness_n and_o holiness_n do_v proceed_v from_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n dwell_v in_o we_o and_o from_o hence_o our_o work_n be_v imperfect_a in_o themselves_o do_v receive_v their_o dignity_n excellency_n and_o estimation_n in_o god_n sight_n as_o be_v the_o fruit_n of_o his_o own_o spirit_n howsoever_o mingle_v with_o our_o corruption_n §_o sect._n 8_o three_o let_v we_o remember_v that_o our_o sin_n and_o corruption_n which_o we_o hate_v and_o
