defer_v deliverance_n till_o the_o utmost_a extremity_n for_o the_o trial_n of_o his_o people_n faith_n and_o to_o strip_v they_o of_o other_o help_n that_o they_o may_v trust_v in_o he_o for_o till_o then_o we_o trust_v not_o in_o he_o as_o we_o ought_v so_o that_o god_n people_n run_v another_o course_n from_o other_o man_n though_o they_o have_v persecution_n here_o for_o their_o pain_n because_o they_o trust_v in_o the_o live_a god_n and_o in_o a_o good_a cause_n god_n have_v promise_v good_a success_n therein_o therefore_o we_o be_v to_o be_v guide_v with_o as_o much_o confidence_n of_o safety_n while_o we_o rule_v ourselves_o therein_o according_a to_o god_n command_n as_o if_o we_o have_v a_o prophet_n immediate_o send_v we_o from_o god_n now_o the_o reason_n why_o god_n be_v promise_n and_o so_o in_o hope_n of_o god_n assistance_n and_o deliver_v to_o obey_v god_n in_o suffer_v those_o adversity_n which_o he_o send_v we_o and_o will_v we_o to_o suffer_v neither_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o grief_n which_o they_o bring_v to_o murmur_v against_o god_n or_o to_o do_v any_o thing_n against_o his_o commandment_n but_o in_o the_o high_a extremity_n to_o retain_v still_o the_o confidence_n and_o hope_n of_o god_n assistance_n and_o to_o ask_v deliverance_n of_o he_o and_o by_o this_o knowledge_n and_o full_a persuasion_n of_o god_n will_n to_o mitigate_v and_o assuage_v our_o grief_n thus_o patience_n be_v a_o voluntary_a and_o continual_a suffering_n for_o the_o love_n of_o virtue_n and_o honesty_n or_o it_o be_v a_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n flow_v from_o grace_n and_o hope_n whereby_o we_o suffer_v thing_n that_o be_v evil_a that_o we_o forsake_v not_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v good_a by_o which_o we_o may_v attain_v to_o those_o that_o be_v they_o will_v do_v whether_o their_o faith_n will_v work_v or_o no_o for_o when_o to_o such_o as_o take_v christ_n for_o love_n of_o the_o good_a thing_n by_o he_o and_o not_o for_o love_v of_o his_o must_v be_v effectual_a faith_n it_o be_v the_o effectualness_n of_o faith_n only_o that_o god_n require_v that_o be_v if_o there_o be_v any_o effectualness_n in_o man_n that_o come_v not_o from_o faith_n god_n require_v it_o not_o but_o if_o we_o labour_v to_o grow_v in_o faith_n we_o shall_v be_v enable_v to_o do_v the_o duty_n of_o new_a obedience_n but_o if_o we_o have_v not_o the_o for_o a_o holy_a life_n for_o after_o that_o a_o man_n be_v justify_v by_o faith_n christ_n sanctifi_v he_o and_o it_o be_v he_o that_o carry_v he_o afterward_o through_o his_o whole_a life_n in_o a_o holy_a conversation_n and_o as_o christ_n be_v thus_o make_v unto_o we_o justification_n and_o sanctification_n so_o be_v he_o make_v unto_o we_o redemption_n also_o for_o he_o deliver_v we_o from_o the_o least_o evil_n as_o well_o as_o from_o death_n eternal_a and_o hell_n itself_o yea_o there_o be_v no_o evil_a that_o the_o saint_n be_v free_v from_o but_o it_o be_v purchase_v by_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n which_o be_v over_o and_o above_o some_o general_a work_n of_o god_n providence_n that_o all_o man_n taste_v of_o now_o though_o there_o be_v sufficiency_n in_o christ_n to_o save_v all_o yet_o none_o have_v benefit_n by_o it_o but_o those_o that_o receive_v it_o as_o they_o ought_v that_o be_v as_o a_o lord_n as_o well_o as_o a_o saviour_n we_o must_v therefore_o come_v to_o god_n as_o with_o a_o full_a heart_n so_o with_o a_o empty_a hand_n for_o faith_n do_v its_o work_n best_o alone_o for_o all_o that_o faith_n have_v to_o do_v be_v only_o to_o take_v from_o christ_n that_o righteousness_n which_o we_o want_v ourselves_o and_o without_o this_o faith_n god_n regard_v not_o the_o best_a moral_a virtue_n the_o moral_a man_n what_o he_o do_v he_o do_v it_o of_o himself_o and_o through_o himself_o and_o for_o himself_o but_o he_o that_o do_v what_o he_o do_v by_o faith_n do_v it_o of_o christ_n and_o through_o christ_n and_o for_o christ_n for_o we_o must_v receive_v all_o from_o christ_n and_o do_v all_o for_o christ_n and_o all_o by_o faith_n faith_n work_v in_o we_o a_o love_n to_o god_n and_o present_v to_o he_o a_o perfect_a righteousness_n and_o this_o faith_n be_v the_o sum_n of_o the_o preach_a of_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n now_o god_n require_v no_o more_o but_o a_o willingness_n in_o earnest_a to_o come_v and_o take_v christ_n may_v be_v a_o true_a and_o so_o a_o save_v faith_n yet_o if_o this_o small_a measure_n of_o faith_n be_v not_o edge_v on_o with_o a_o long_a fervency_n after_o fullness_n of_o persuasion_n and_o second_v with_o a_o assiduous_a serious_a endeavour_n after_o more_o perfection_n it_o be_v no_o sound_n and_o save_a faith_n but_o only_o a_o counterfeit_a show_n or_o deceive_a shadow_n the_o least_o assent_n to_o the_o least_o belief_n of_o the_o promise_n so_o it_o be_v sufficient_a to_o overbalance_n the_o scale_n of_o doubt_v which_o be_v call_v the_o least_o degree_n of_o faith_n bring_v we_o to_o christ_n and_o make_v we_o willing_a to_o take_v he_o and_o be_v faith_n though_o it_o come_v not_o to_o the_o full_a degree_n though_o it_o have_v some_o doubt_v some_o fear_n and_o afterward_o we_o shall_v be_v more_o full_o and_o better_a persuade_v which_o add_v to_o the_o degree_n for_o faith_n though_o it_o be_v mingle_v with_o some_o doubt_n and_o fear_n may_v be_v effectual_a though_o not_o perfect_a for_o there_o be_v a_o doubt_v mingle_v with_o the_o best_a faith_n so_o it_o be_v but_o such_o a_o doubt_v as_o do_v not_o overcome_v it_o may_v stand_v with_o true_a and_o sound_a faith_n if_o a_o man_n have_v so_o take_v christ_n that_o still_o he_o be_v grow_v still_o his_o faith_n be_v prevail_v still_o overcome_v these_o doubt_n and_o fear_n from_o day_n to_o day_n he_o be_v better_a and_o better_o resolve_v if_o it_o be_v thus_o still_o on_o the_o grow_a hand_n it_o be_v a_o save_v and_o effectual_a faith_n yea_o it_o be_v not_o faith_n except_o it_o have_v some_o doubt_v except_o there_o be_v some_o fear_n some_o trouble_v within_o that_o resist_v this_o faith_n and_o strive_v against_o it_o for_o there_o be_v no_o man_n that_o say_v of_o thistle_n they_o be_v ill_a weed_n but_o it_o be_v a_o sign_n the_o ground_n be_v fat_a and_o good_a where_o they_o grow_v so_o doubt_v as_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n that_o resist_v faith_n be_v bad_a but_o it_o be_v a_o sign_n the_o heart_n be_v good_a where_o it_o be_v so_o that_o where_o there_o be_v no_o question_n there_o be_v all_o flesh_n and_o a_o man_n may_v have_v a_o save_a faith_n though_o he_o want_v the_o comfortable_a assurance_n thereof_o in_o his_o own_o knowledge_n which_o be_v the_o reflect_v act_n of_o faith_n for_o as_o some_o man_n have_v a_o persuasion_n of_o can_v not_o make_v no_o not_o by_o great_a diligence_n any_o commodity_n of_o the_o money_n borrow_v reasins_z why_o a_o man_n may_v sometime_o take_v above_o the_o principal_a viz._n 1._o that_o which_o the_o debtor_n may_v give_v have_v himself_o a_o honest_a gain_n beside_o and_o no_o man_n any_o way_n endamage_v that_o the_o creditor_n may_v safe_o receive_v 2._o it_o be_v convenient_a that_o he_o which_o have_v money_n lend_v he_o and_o gain_v by_o it_o shall_v show_v all_o possible_a gratitude_n to_o he_o by_o who_o good_n he_o be_v enrich_v 3._o it_o be_v often_o for_o the_o benefit_n of_o the_o creditor_n to_o have_v the_o good_n in_o his_o own_o hand_n which_o he_o lend_v whereby_o he_o be_v prejudice_v by_o the_o forbearance_n and_o therefore_o may_v just_o expect_v compel_v he_o to_o borrow_v and_o for_o this_o a_o man_n can_v with_o good_a conscience_n take_v any_o increase_n 2._o of_o courtesy_n when_o one_o rich_a friend_n lend_v unto_o another_o this_o be_v leave_v to_o a_o man_n own_o liberty_n and_o discretion_n and_o have_v not_o any_o particular_a promise_n of_o reward_n not_o in_o this_o case_n be_v all_o take_n of_o increase_n simple_o condemn_v even_o for_o these_o reason_n in_o these_o case_n 1._o when_o the_o increase_n be_v give_v only_o in_o way_n of_o thankfulness_n for_o ingratitude_n be_v abhor_v of_o all_o and_o the_o law_n of_o nature_n require_v to_o do_v good_a for_o good_a and_o all_o divine_n allow_v this_o kind_n of_o increase_n 2._o when_o a_o man_n sustain_v damage_n by_o his_o lend_n he_o may_v receive_v increase_n
