and_o in_o some_o other_o respect_n answer_v i_o answer_v that_o this_o kind_n of_o love_n and_o affection_n may_v also_o in_o a_o sort_n be_v call_v brotherly_a kindness_n to_o wit_n as_o we_o be_v brother_n by_o creation_n but_o to_o make_v a_o distinction_n between_o the_o one_o &_o the_o other_o see_v the_o holy_a ghost_n do_v call_v that_o kindness_n of_o affection_n which_o christian_n bear_v one_o to_o the_o other_o brotherly_a kindness_n let_v we_o call_v this_o other_o kindness_n and_o affection_n natural_a kindness_n for_o so_o indeed_o it_o be_v a_o natural_a virtue_n give_v unto_o mankind_n in_o his_o first_o creation_n but_o since_o great_o corrupt_v and_o deface_v by_o sin_n as_o all_o other_o gift_n of_o nature_n be_v now_o for_o as_o much_o as_o natural_a kindness_n be_v before_o brotherly_a kindness_n and_o because_o brotherly_a kindness_n whereunto_o saint_n peter_n exhort_v we_o do_v not_o take_v a_o way_n natural_a kindness_n but_o rather_o seek_v to_o further_a proof_n that_o no_o man_n by_o his_o own_o natural_a reach_n of_o wit_n and_o understanding_n can_v judge_v of_o the_o virtue_n and_o quality_n of_o faith_n but_o only_o such_o as_o be_v renew_v and_o bear_v again_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n now_o then_o as_o i_o say_v be_v it_o any_o marvel_n that_o this_o precious_a jewel_n of_o faith_n be_v so_o small_o estimate_v &_o slender_o account_v of_o in_o the_o world_n of_o mere_a worldly_a &_o carnal_a man_n see_v they_o have_v no_o skill_n at_o all_o to_o judge_v of_o the_o rare_a virtue_n and_o operation_n thereof_o neither_o by_o mean_n of_o the_o outward_a sense_n of_o their_o body_n nor_o yet_o by_o the_o force_n &_o power_n of_o their_o soul_n but_o be_v altogether_o like_a unto_o the_o cock_n whereof_o the_o fable_n speak_v that_o see_v a_o precious_a gem_n or_o jewel_n lie_v on_o the_o dunghill_n wish_v he_o have_v have_v one_o grain_n of_o barley_n for_o that_o precious_a jewel_n because_o he_o know_v christian_a see_v the_o case_n thus_o stand_v i_o say_v and_o these_o premise_n due_o consider_v i_o have_v think_v it_o meet_v and_o very_o agree_v with_o my_o call_n to_o spend_v a_o little_a time_n in_o contrive_v these_o plain_a and_o simple_a treatise_n of_o faith_n and_o the_o fruit_n thereof_o hereafter_o follow_v to_o this_o end_n that_o partly_o by_o the_o help_n hereof_o if_o god_n give_v
