philosopher_n assign_v unto_o they_o moreover_o there_o be_v a_o power_n which_o be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o queen_n of_o all_o the_o rest_n to_o who_o command_n and_o conduct_v they_o refer_v all_o sufficient_a in_o vegetative_a thing_n to_o exercise_v their_o action_n but_o withal_o it_o be_v requisite_a that_o they_o be_v accompany_v with_o knowledge_n it_o therefore_o happen_v that_o the_o vegetative_a soul_n be_v not_o so_o noble_a that_o among_o all_o her_o power_n there_o be_v not_o any_o one_o endue_v with_o knowledge_n the_o universal_a nature_n which_o provide_v for_o all_o supply_v this_o defect_n and_o conduct_n by_o her_o light_n the_o inclination_n of_o vegetative_a substance_n to_o their_o end_n and_o by_o the_o same_o mean_n guide_v all_o the_o other_o power_n which_o follow_v her_o motion_n in_o their_o action_n so_o as_o nature_n know_v the_o substance_n fit_v and_o proper_a for_o the_o nourishment_n show_v it_o and_o instruct_v the_o natural_a appetite_n and_o ordain_v that_o it_o shall_v be_v draw_v and_o digest_v and_o convert_v into_o nourishment_n for_o the_o preservation_n of_o the_o vegetable_a individue_n and_o the_o like_a may_v be_v say_v of_o the_o other_o action_n wherein_o doubtless_o living_n thing_n differ_v not_o much_o from_o those_o that_o have_v no_o life_n and_o we_o must_v not_o object_v that_o plant_n seem_v to_o be_v endue_v with_o knowledge_n for_o that_o they_o can_v distinguish_v a_o juicâ—_n which_o be_v proper_a for_o they_o from_o that_o which_o be_v pernicious_a the_o which_o seem_v to_o be_v a_o mark_n othâ—â—_n organ_n than_o those_o of_o the_o plant_n and_o therefore_o although_o they_o draw_v unto_o they_o good_a juice_n and_o reject_v the_o bad_a it_o proceed_v not_o from_o any_o knowledge_n wherewith_o they_o be_v endue_v but_o from_o their_o natural_a virtue_n and_o property_n guide_v by_o that_o sovereign_a intelligence_n which_o disperse_v her_o care_n over_o all_o the_o creature_n how_o base_a and_o abject_a soever_o and_o it_o be_v also_o by_o her_o motion_n that_o the_o same_o plant_n fly_v their_o contrary_n as_o the_o vine_n shun_v the_o bay_a tree_n and_o that_o they_o knowledge_n but_o let_v we_o return_v to_o our_o discourse_n and_o leave_v the_o vegetative_a soul_n ascend_v a_o degree_n high_o and_o come_v to_o the_o sensitive_a this_o as_o the_o more_o noble_a other_o man_n in_o danger_n at_o sea_n or_o land_n they_o be_v always_o see_v subject_a to_o the_o common_a desire_n of_o man_n and_o they_o have_v in_o that_o regard_n more_o vanity_n than_o constancy_n so_o as_o they_o have_v be_v force_v to_o excuse_v these_o first_o motion_n and_o to_o confess_v that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o power_n of_o man_n to_o suppress_v they_o but_o they_o
