have_v it_o not_o one_o only_a part_n power_n or_o faculty_n or_o virtue_n as_o we_o may_v call_v it_o but_o diverse_a appoint_v for_o diverse_a and_o sundry_a office_n for_o we_o be_v participant_a of_o the_o nature_n of_o all_o thing_n live_v and_o those_o be_v divide_v into_o three_o kind_n it_o be_v necessary_a that_o man_n shall_v have_v some_o part_n of_o every_o of_o those_o three_o there_o be_v then_o one_o base_a and_o inferior_a kind_n of_o life_n of_o less_o estimation_n than_o the_o rest_n and_o that_o be_v the_o life_n of_o tree_n and_o plant_n and_o of_o all_o such_o thing_n as_o have_v root_n in_o the_o earth_n which_o spring_n grow_v bloom_n and_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n which_o fruit_n aristotle_n say_v come_v from_o they_o in_o stead_n of_o excrement_n together_o with_o their_o seed_n and_o these_o tree_n and_o plant_n and_o such_o like_a grow_a thing_n have_v only_o life_n devoid_a of_o feel_v though_o pythagoras_n think_v otherwise_o or_o of_o any_o knowledge_n but_o by_o the_o benefit_n of_o nature_n only_o they_o spring_v they_o grow_v and_o bringforth_o fruit_n and_o seed_n for_o the_o use_n of_o man_n and_o for_o the_o maintain_n of_o their_o kind_n there_o be_v another_o kind_n of_o life_n less_o imperfect_a than_o that_o which_o be_v the_o same_o that_o perfect_a live_a creature_n have_v for_o of_o that_o life_n which_o be_v in_o manner_n a_o mean_a between_o the_o life_n of_o plant_n and_o this_o of_o sensible_a creature_n we_o need_v not_o now_o to_o speak_v or_o if_o it_o be_v we_o shall_v resemble_v it_o to_o that_o which_o physician_n call_v embryo_n and_o be_v the_o creature_n unperfect_a in_o the_o womb_n while_o it_o be_v between_o the_o form_n of_o seed_n and_o of_o the_o kind_n whence_o it_o come_v which_o life_n of_o perfect_a live_a creature_n have_v in_o it_o by_o nature_n power_n to_o feel_v and_o to_o move_v from_o place_n to_o place_n for_o we_o see_v they_o stir_v and_o feel_v and_o have_v power_n to_o desire_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v meet_v for_o the_o maintain_n of_o their_o life_n and_o of_o their_o nature_n and_o by_o natural_a inclination_n and_o for_o the_o increase_n and_o continuance_n of_o their_o kind_n they_o covet_v the_o join_n of_o their_o body_n to_o yield_v unto_o nature_n that_o which_o of_o nature_n they_o have_v receive_v that_o be_v to_o engender_v the_o like_a unto_o themselves_o but_o this_o power_n of_o the_o soul_n can_v use_v that_o force_n and_o virtue_n which_o natural_o it_o have_v if_o it_o have_v not_o withal_o that_o former_a part_n which_o be_v proper_a as_o be_v say_v to_o plant_n &_o be_v call_v vegetative_a you_o must_v give_v i_o leave_v to_o use_v new_a word_n of_o art_n such_o as_o be_v proper_a to_o express_v new_a conceit_n though_o they_o be_v yet_o strange_a and_o not_o denison_v in_o our_o language_n because_o it_o give_v life_n and_o increase_n to_o grow_a thing_n and_o without_o it_o the_o power_n of_o feeling_n do_v utter_o fail_v next_o after_o this_o come_v that_o excellent_a and_o divine_a part_n of_o the_o soul_n which_o bring_v with_o it_o the_o light_n of_o reason_n contain_v in_o it_o the_o power_n faculty_n or_o virtue_n of_o the_o other_o two_o for_o it_o have_v that_o life_n which_o proceed_v from_o plant_n it_o have_v sense_n or_o feeling_n &_o motion_n from_o place_n to_o place_n proper_a to_o the_o second_o kind_n and_o it_o have_v beside_o that_o other_o part_n whereby_o it_o know_v understand_v discourse_v consult_v choose_v and_o give_v itself_o to_o operation_n and_o to_o contemplate_v thing_n natural_a and_o divine_a and_o this_o part_n be_v proper_a only_o to_o man_n and_o as_o by_o the_o two_o other_o faculty_n before_o mention_v we_o be_v like_a to_o plant_n and_o to_o bruit_n beast_n so_o by_o this_o last_o we_o do_v participate_v of_o the_o divine_a nature_n of_o god_n himself_o wherefore_o aristotle_n say_v that_o man_n be_v create_v upright_o for_o no_o other_o cause_n then_o for_o that_o his_o substance_n be_v divine_a who_o nature_n and_o office_n be_v to_o know_v and_o understand_v and_o true_o this_o gift_n be_v give_v unto_o we_o by_o the_o maker_n and_o governor_n of_o all_o thing_n because_o we_o may_v know_v ourselves_o to_o be_v of_o a_o nature_n most_o perfect_a among_o earthly_a thing_n and_o not_o far_o inferior_a to_o the_o divine_a and_o that_o we_o have_v receive_v so_o singular_a a_o gift_n from_o almighty_a god_n for_o no_o other_o cause_n but_o only_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v perceive_v how_o all_o other_o thing_n that_o grow_v and_o live_v on_o earth_n be_v corruptible_a and_o do_v resolve_v into_o their_o first_o principle_n or_o beginning_n and_o cease_v any_o more_o to_o be_v as_o soon_o as_o the_o soul_n of_o life_n depart_v from_o they_o but_o that_o our_o mind_n be_v immortal_a and_o incorruptible_a whereby_o we_o may_v rest_v assure_v of_o a_o eternal_a life_n since_o then_o these_o three_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n be_v in_o we_o it_o be_v clear_a that_o as_o the_o plant_n among_o thing_n that_o bear_v life_n be_v the_o most_o imperfect_a so_o that_o part_n of_o the_o soul_n be_v most_o unperfect_a which_o be_v proper_a to_o their_o kind_n but_o it_o be_v so_o necessary_a to_o all_o other_o kind_n as_o without_o it_o there_o be_v no_o life_n and_o with_o it_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o faculty_n that_o be_v join_v therewith_o though_o they_o be_v worthy_a decay_n and_o fall_v and_o this_o necessity_n of_o nature_n that_o without_o it_o she_o give_v no_o life_n make_v the_o same_o to_o be_v most_o base_a and_o ignoble_a for_o among_o natural_a thing_n those_o which_o be_v so_o necessary_a as_o without_o they_o nothing_o can_v be_v do_v be_v always_o hold_v and_o repute_v the_o most_o unworthy_a which_o thing_n we_o may_v see_v in_o that_o we_o call_v materia_fw-la prima_fw-la which_o though_o it_o be_v in_o nature_n before_o the_o form_n yet_o because_o of_o the_o necessity_n thereof_o it_o be_v esteem_v of_o no_o nobility_n in_o comparison_n of_o the_o form_n and_o even_o so_o likewise_o among_o the_o sense_n that_o of_o feeling_n be_v hold_v the_o base_a because_o no_o perfect_a live_a creature_n can_v be_v without_o it_o nor_o yet_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o sense_n unless_o that_o be_v present_a and_o therefore_o aristotle_n say_v that_o the_o other_o sense_n be_v give_v to_o man_n that_o thereby_o he_o may_v live_v the_o better_a but_o the_o sense_n of_o feeling_n be_v give_v he_o because_o without_o it_o he_o can_v neither_o be_v nor_o live_v now_o for_o so_o much_o as_o life_n may_v be_v without_o sense_n because_o the_o sensitive_a soul_n be_v not_o of_o such_o necessity_n as_o be_v the_o vegetative_a therefore_o be_v that_o of_o more_o nobility_n than_o this_o somewhat_o yet_o inferior_a to_o the_o intellective_a which_o can_v no_o more_o be_v without_o the_o sensitive_a than_o the_o sensitive_a without_o the_o vegetative_a and_o because_o the_o intellective_a soul_n be_v not_o of_o necessity_n serve_v to_o any_o other_o faculty_n or_o power_n therefore_o be_v she_o as_o lady_n mistress_n and_o queen_n over_o all_o other_o the_o power_n faculty_n or_o virtue_n of_o the_o soul_n so_o as_o there_o be_v none_o proper_a unto_o man_n but_o that_o whereby_o he_o may_v be_v either_o good_a or_o bad_a happy_a or_o unhappy_a and_o the_o same_o be_v it_o whereby_o we_o understand_v and_o make_v choice_n rather_o of_o one_o course_n of_o life_n then_o of_o another_o this_o great_a gift_n have_v god_n bestow_v upon_o we_o to_o show_v his_o great_a grace_n and_o goodness_n and_o for_o this_o purpose_n that_o as_o he_o have_v invite_v we_o through_o virtue_n of_o our_o understanding_n to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o truth_n and_o by_o this_o knowledge_n to_o become_v like_a unto_o himself_o so_o we_o shall_v bend_v all_o our_o study_n and_o endeavour_n thereunto_o as_o the_o end_n and_o scope_n of_o our_o life_n in_o this_o world_n of_o which_o the_o occasion_n of_o this_o our_o present_a speech_n do_v first_o arise_v here_o i_o pause_v a_o while_n as_o to_o take_v breath_n and_o withal_o to_o order_v some_o of_o the_o paper_n the_o lord_n primate_n speak_v say_v have_v treat_v thus_o far_o of_o the_o power_n faculty_n virtue_n or_o part_n of_o the_o soul_n i_o think_v it_o not_o impertinent_a to_o move_v a_o question_n whether_o they_o be_v in_o man_n separate_v and_o in_o several_a place_n or_o whether_o they_o be_v unite_v all_o together_o and_o seat_v in_o one_o place_n this_o question_n quoth_v i_o be_v very_o pertinent_a to_o this_o place_n and_o by_o the_o author_n here_o resolve_v as_o a_o doubt_n not_o light_o or_o easy_a to_o be_v answer_v first_o for_o that_o there_o have_v not_o want_v some_o who_o will_v needs_o have_v that_o these_o three_o power_n of_o the_o
soul_n be_v three_o distinct_a soul_n and_o not_o join_v in_o one_o soul_n appoint_v for_o several_a office_n but_o because_o that_o opinion_n have_v be_v esteem_v but_o vain_a it_o need_v not_o to_o be_v insist_v upon_o but_o brief_o that_o i_o declare_v what_o aristotle_n and_o plato_n with_o their_o follower_n have_v hold_v the_o first_o with_o his_o scholar_n affirm_v the_o reasonable_a soul_n to_o be_v in_o substance_n indivisible_a and_o albeit_o they_o assign_v unto_o her_o diverse_a virtue_n yet_o will_v they_o not_o have_v they_o to_o be_v indeed_o several_a and_o diverse_a but_o that_o the_o diversity_n shall_v proceed_v &_o consist_v only_o in_o the_o manner_n of_o understand_v they_o suppose_v they_o to_o be_v in_o the_o soul_n after_o such_o a_o sort_n as_o in_o the_o line_n of_o a_o circle_n the_o inner_a part_n which_o be_v hollow_a or_o embow_v and_o the_o outward_a which_o be_v bend_v which_o two_o part_n though_o we_o understand_v they_o diverse_o yet_o be_v they_o but_o one_o line_n and_o not_o several_a neither_o do_v they_o assign_v unto_o her_o diverse_a place_n but_o say_v that_o she_o be_v all_o and_o whole_a in_o all_o our_o body_n and_o in_o every_o part_n of_o the_o same_o and_o apt_a there_o to_o exercise_v all_o her_o function_n if_o the_o part_n be_v apt_a to_o receive_v they_o but_o because_o every_o part_n be_v not_o dispose_v to_o receive_v they_o therefore_o she_o make_v show_v of_o they_o only_o in_o such_o as_o be_v make_v fit_a instrument_n to_o execute_v her_o power_n and_o faculty_n so_o give_v she_o virtue_n to_o the_o eye_n to_o see_v to_o the_o ear_n to_o hear_v and_o to_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o member_n that_o be_v the_o instrument_n of_o our_o sense_n but_o plato_n and_o his_o sect_n have_v give_v to_o every_o power_n of_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n a_o peculiar_a seat_n in_o man_n body_n for_o though_o they_o hold_v the_o soul_n to_o be_v but_o one_o endue_v with_o several_a virtue_n or_o power_n yet_o they_o affirm_v that_o every_o one_o of_o those_o have_v a_o several_a seat_n appoint_v in_o man_n body_n to_o the_o vegetative_a from_o which_o as_o from_o a_o fountain_n they_o say_v the_o concupiscible_a appetite_n do_v flow_v they_o appoint_v the_o liver_n for_o her_o place_n to_o the_o sensitive_a whence_o come_v say_v they_o the_o fervent_a passion_n of_o anger_n they_o give_v the_o heart_n but_o the_o reasonable_a soul_n as_o be_v the_o most_o divine_a thing_n under_o heaven_n they_o assign_v to_o hold_v her_o seat_n like_o a_o queen_n in_o a_o royal_a chair_n even_o in_o the_o head_n unto_o which_o opinion_n all_o the_o greek_a author_n of_o physic_n have_v lean_v and_o special_o galen_n the_o excellent_a interpreter_n of_o hypocrates_n who_o have_v not_o only_o attribute_v three_o several_a seat_n to_o the_o three_o several_a faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n in_o respect_n of_o their_o operation_n but_o have_v also_o show_v with_o what_o order_n those_o member_n be_v frame_v that_o must_v be_v the_o receptacle_n of_o those_o faculty_n for_o he_o show_v how_o the_o first_o member_n that_o take_v form_n after_o the_o conception_n be_v the_o liver_n from_o whence_o spring_n all_o the_o vein_n that_o like_o small_a brook_n carry_v blood_n over_o all_o the_o body_n and_o in_o this_o member_n do_v he_o place_v the_o live_n or_o nourish_v soul_n which_o we_o have_v term_v vegetative_a affirm_v it_o to_o be_v most_o approach_v to_o nature_n next_o unto_o this_o he_o place_v the_o heart_n wherein_o all_o the_o vital_a spirit_n be_v forge_v and_o receive_v their_o strength_n for_o the_o generation_n whereof_o the_o liver_n send_v blood_n thither_o where_o it_o be_v refine_v and_o make_v more_o pure_a and_o subtle_a and_o from_o thence_o by_o the_o artery_n which_o all_o spring_n from_o the_o heart_n the_o same_o spirit_n be_v spread_v throughout_o the_o whole_a body_n and_o these_o two_o principal_a member_n be_v the_o seat_n of_o the_o two_o principal_a appetite_n the_o irascible_a and_o the_o concupiscible_a of_o that_o the_o heart_n of_o this_o the_o liver_n and_o because_o all_o this_o while_n the_o creature_n have_v yet_o no_o need_n as_o be_v unperfect_a of_o sense_n or_o motion_n it_o be_v busy_v about_o nothing_o but_o receive_v of_o nourishment_n somewhat_o further_o off_o from_o the_o heart_n begin_v the_o brain_n to_o grow_v and_o from_o it_o do_v all_o the_o sense_n flow_v and_o then_o lo_o begin_v the_o child_n to_o take_v form_n and_o shape_n of_o a_o perfect_a creature_n the_o face_n the_o hand_n and_o the_o foot_n be_v then_o fashion_v with_o the_o other_o part_n of_o the_o body_n apt_a for_o feeling_n and_o voluntary_a move_n and_o from_o thence_o be_v derive_v the_o sinew_n the_o band_n or_o ligament_n and_o muscle_n be_v frame_v by_o which_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o member_n be_v dispose_v this_o part_n be_v the_o seat_n of_o the_o reasonable_a soul_n by_o virtue_n and_o power_n of_o which_o we_o understand_v we_o will_v we_o discourse_v we_o know_v we_o choose_v we_o contemplate_v and_o do_v all_o those_o operation_n which_o appertain_v unto_o reason_n and_o as_o nature_n have_v place_v the_o brain_n a_o good_a distance_n off_o from_o the_o other_o two_o principal_a member_n so_o have_v she_o frame_v a_o cartilege_n or_o thin_a rind_n or_o skin_n to_o sever_v the_o heart_n from_o the_o liver_n and_o other_o inward_a bowel_n as_o with_o a_o fence_n or_o hedge_n between_o they_o and_o the_o other_o base_a part_n that_o be_v less_o pure_a for_o the_o heart_n be_v pure_a and_o so_o be_v that_o blood_n which_o convey_v the_o spirit_n from_o it_o throughout_o the_o body_n than_o the_o liver_n or_o the_o blood_n which_o be_v engender_v in_o the_o same_o and_o in_o this_o respect_n be_v aristotle_n just_o reprehend_v by_o galen_n in_o that_o he_o give_v to_o the_o heart_n alone_o that_o which_o appertain_v to_o all_o three_o the_o principal_a member_n aforesaid_a for_o though_o he_o assign_v diverse_a virtue_n or_o power_n to_o the_o soul_n yet_o he_o place_v they_o all_o in_o the_o heart_n alone_o from_o which_o he_o say_v contrary_a to_o that_o which_o common_a sense_n and_o experience_n teach_v that_o all_o the_o vein_n artery_n and_o sinew_n of_o the_o body_n be_v derive_v but_o because_o we_o shall_v go_v too_o far_o astray_o from_o our_o purpose_n if_o i_o shall_v discourse_v particular_o all_o that_o which_o may_v be_v say_v in_o this_o matter_n i_o will_v return_v if_o you_o so_o think_v good_a to_o our_o former_a purpose_n which_o i_o leave_v to_o satisfy_v your_o demand_n thus_o much_o say_v the_o lord_n primate_n have_v not_o a_o little_a open_v the_o understanding_n of_o this_o matter_n and_o therefore_o you_o may_v proceed_v unless_o any_o other_o of_o the_o company_n have_v any_o other_o doubt_n to_o propose_v but_o they_o all_o be_v silent_a and_o seem_v attentive_a to_o hear_v further_o i_o say_v now_o that_o you_o have_v understand_v what_o the_o power_n and_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n be_v it_o follow_v to_o be_v declare_v how_o the_o age_n of_o man_n life_n have_v similitude_n with_o the_o same_o as_o the_o soul_n of_o life_n therefore_o call_v vegetative_a be_v the_o foundation_n of_o the_o rest_n and_o consequent_o of_o the_o base_a so_o be_v the_o age_n of_o childhood_n the_o foundation_n of_o the_o other_o age_n and_o therefore_o the_o least_o noble_a for_o the_o necessity_n which_o it_o carry_v with_o it_o and_o because_o upon_o it_o the_o other_o age_n be_v build_v there_o ought_v the_o great_a diligence_n to_o be_v use_v about_o the_o same_o to_o make_v it_o pass_v on_o towards_o the_o other_o more_o noble_a than_o itself_o so_o as_o we_o may_v reasonable_o conceive_v a_o hope_n that_o from_o a_o wel-guided_n childhood_n the_o child_n may_v enter_v into_o a_o commendable_a youth_n and_o thence_o pass_v to_o a_o more_o ripe_a age_n by_o the_o direction_n of_o virtue_n but_o first_o you_o must_v understand_v that_o aristotle_n will_v in_o no_o wise_n yield_v that_o this_o inferior_a soul_n shall_v be_v capable_a of_o reason_n and_o therefore_o place_v in_o the_o sensible_a soul_n both_o the_o concupiscible_a and_o the_o irascible_a appetite_n and_o contrariwise_o plato_n as_o before_o be_v say_v distinguish_v these_o two_o affect_n into_o both_o these_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n give_v to_o the_o first_o the_o concupiscible_a and_o the_o irascible_a to_o the_o other_o and_o because_o plato_n his_o opinion_n have_v general_o be_v better_a allow_v than_o aristotle_n i_o will_v speak_v thereof_o according_a as_o plato_n have_v determine_v this_o base_a soul_n then_o be_v that_o whereby_o we_o be_v nourish_v we_o grow_v we_o sustain_v life_n and_o receive_v our_o body_n and_o be_v about_o who_o maintain_v and_o increase_n she_o use_v continual_o whether_o we_o wake_v or_o sleep_v
without_o any_o endeavour_n of_o our_o own_o her_o virtue_n and_o operation_n if_o food_n and_o nourishment_n fail_v not_o be_v in_o her_o full_a force_n chief_o in_o childhood_n and_o as_o soon_o as_o the_o child_n be_v bear_v stir_v up_o the_o desire_n of_o food_n to_o the_o end_n that_o by_o little_a and_o little_a it_o may_v gather_v strength_n of_o body_n to_o become_v apt_a for_o the_o that_o you_o have_v lay_v before_o we_o to_o be_v do_v be_v in_o our_o power_n or_o no_o for_o it_o seem_v strange_a that_o if_o it_o be_v in_o our_o power_n to_o give_v ourselves_o to_o a_o of_o the_o hearer_n then_o say_v i_o the_o demand_n of_o captain_n carlisle_n have_v three_o several_a point_n or_o article_n the_o one_o be_v whether_o virtue_n and_o virtuous_a action_n be_v in_o our_o power_n or_o no_o another_o that_o it_o seem_v strange_a if_o vice_n &_o virtue_n be_v in_o our_o power_n that_o any_o man_n shall_v be_v so_o senseless_a as_o to_o apply_v himself_o to_o vice_n and_o forsake_v virtue_n the_o last_o be_v whether_o the_o good_a or_o evil_n we_o do_v proceed_v from_o the_o influence_n of_o the_o heaven_n or_o from_o necessity_n of_o destiny_n and_o not_o from_o our_o own_o free_a election_n and_o my_o author_n begin_v with_o the_o last_o which_o he_o affirm_v to_o be_v most_o contrary_a to_o truth_n and_o to_o the_o excellency_n of_o man_n nature_n proceed_v thence_o to_o the_o second_o and_o last_o to_o the_o first_o therefore_o he_o say_v that_o whosoever_o hold_v man_n will_n and_o election_n to_o be_v subject_a to_o the_o necessity_n of_o destiny_n understanding_n itself_o as_o a_o soul_n and_o as_o the_o form_n of_o the_o body_n and_o not_o as_o a_o separable_a intelligence_n the_o low_a of_o all_o other_o and_o common_a to_o all_o man_n as_o theophrastus_n and_o themistius_n though_o diverse_o have_v think_v neither_o yet_o that_o it_o be_v god_n almighty_a as_o alexander_n suppose_v for_o god_n be_v not_o the_o form_n of_o our_o body_n nor_o have_v any_o man_n ever_o doubt_v whether_o god_n be_v immortal_a so_o as_o our_o understanding_n be_v neither_o god_n nor_o yet_o a_o separate_a intelligence_n common_a to_o all_o man_n like_o those_o that_o govern_v a_o universal_a sphere_n as_o they_o above_o mention_v have_v think_v &_o as_o some_o of_o our_o christian_n have_v dream_v who_o be_v raise_v to_o ecclesiastical_a dignity_n have_v choose_v rather_o to_o follow_v the_o greek_n vanity_n and_o the_o arabian_n then_o favour_v the_o religious_a and_o true_a interpreter_n of_o aristotle_n mind_n whereas_o they_o ought_v rather_o to_o have_v root_v such_o opinion_n out_o of_o man_n mind_n as_o apt_a to_o draw_v they_o to_o perdition_n and_o not_o to_o mask_v they_o with_o the_o vizard_n of_o natural_a philosopher_n as_o if_o thing_n natural_a that_o may_v seem_v contrary_a to_o christianity_n be_v to_o be_v set_v before_o man_n in_o writing_n to_o be_v confirm_v by_o natural_a reason_n apparent_a at_o least_o though_o not_o true_a to_o persuade_v their_o mind_n amiss_o but_o johannes_n gramaticus_fw-la among_o the_o greek_n have_v declare_v aristotle_n mind_n aright_o and_o so_o have_v he_o that_o be_v call_v the_o angelical_a doctor_n in_o sundry_a place_n as_o a_o most_o excellent_a spirit_n and_o a_o religious_a man_n whatsoever_o scotus_n write_v against_o he_o and_o what_o better_a testimony_n need_v we_o have_v of_o the_o vanity_n of_o these_o man_n interpretation_n than_o aristotle_n himself_o who_o most_o effectual_o show_v the_o same_o where_o he_o say_v that_o the_o wax_a old_a of_o man_n proceed_v not_o from_o the_o intellective_a soul_n but_o from_o the_o body_n wherein_o she_o be_v which_o nevertheless_o be_v to_o be_v understand_v as_o she_o be_v the_o form_n thereof_o and_o in_o so_o say_v declare_v that_o every_o man_n have_v his_o intellective_a soul_n which_o soul_n be_v a_o mean_a betwixt_o separate_a substance_n and_o corporal_a and_o therefore_o partly_o she_o communicate_v with_o the_o body_n to_o inform_v the_o same_o and_o partly_o she_o use_v as_o proper_a to_o she_o the_o virtue_n of_o the_o separate_a substance_n as_o much_o as_o her_o nature_n may_v bear_v in_o the_o use_n of_o understanding_n and_o since_o it_o be_v clear_a that_o in_o nature_n the_o most_o perfect_a thing_n contain_v the_o less_o perfect_a i_o can_v conceive_v from_o whence_o proceed_v the_o frenzy_n of_o these_o man_n that_o will_v rather_o draw_v the_o soul_n intellective_a to_o be_v mortal_a then_o immortal_a see_v that_o to_o understand_v be_v the_o most_o singular_a operation_n that_o the_o soul_n have_v and_o to_o who_o the_o power_n of_o the_o other_o soul_n be_v refer_v as_o to_o the_o better_a end_n and_o obey_v as_o handmaiden_n to_o their_o mistress_n in_o such_o as_o propose_v to_o themselves_o to_o live_v like_o man_n neither_o do_v the_o reason_n allege_v by_o some_o serve_v who_o say_v that_o because_o there_o be_v great_a imperfection_n in_o the_o intellective_a soul_n in_o comparison_n of_o the_o separate_a intelligence_n it_o show_v the_o same_o to_o be_v mortal_a for_o if_o this_o reason_n be_v true_a they_o may_v as_o well_o by_o the_o same_o conclude_v that_o the_o separate_a intelligence_n be_v also_o mortal_a for_o since_o aristotle_n say_v that_o only_o the_o first_o intelligence_n who_o in_o his_o phrase_n be_v the_o first_o mover_n be_v perfect_a and_o that_o all_o the_o other_o compare_v to_o he_o be_v unperfect_a imperfection_n be_v in_o these_o man_n fancy_n the_o cause_n of_o mortalnesse_n it_o must_v follow_v that_o as_o imperfect_a they_o shall_v be_v mortal_a which_o be_v as_o contrary_a to_o aristotle_n mind_n as_o any_o thing_n can_v be_v wherefore_o we_o must_v not_o say_v that_o imperfection_n in_o the_o intellective_a soul_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o intelligence_n separate_v cause_v the_o same_o to_o die_v with_o the_o body_n since_o her_o office_n depend_v not_o on_o the_o body_n but_o it_o be_v only_o to_o be_v say_v that_o she_o cease_v to_o inform_v the_o body_n through_o the_o defect_n thereof_o &_o not_o of_o herself_o who_o be_v free_v from_o the_o body_n remain_v nevertheless_o perfect_a in_o she_o be_v for_o albeit_o she_o have_v some_o respect_n to_o the_o body_n while_o she_o inform_v the_o same_o yet_o have_v she_o not_o her_o absolute_a be_v from_o it_o and_o therefore_o say_v aristotle_n that_o the_o virtue_n of_o the_o sense_n be_v not_o equal_a to_o the_o virtue_n of_o the_o understanding_n for_o that_o a_o mighty_a or_o strong_a sensible_a weaken_v and_o oftentimes_o corrupt_v the_o sense_n whereas_o from_o a_o excellent_a intelligible_a the_o understanding_n gather_v great_a virtue_n which_o thing_n can_v not_o be_v say_v if_o the_o understanding_n be_v as_o these_o people_n suppose_v a_o separate_a intelligence_n whereof_o the_o particular_n do_v participate_v wherefore_o we_o must_v needs_o say_v he_o mean_v of_o the_o understanding_n of_o every_o particular_a man_n as_o of_o the_o form_n of_o this_o man_n and_o that_o man_n for_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o understanding_n of_o particular_a man_n and_o not_o of_o intelligence_n as_o those_o man_n have_v belike_o dream_v and_o this_o show_v howsoever_o any_o think_v the_o contrary_a that_o as_o well_o the_o agent_n understanding_n and_o the_o possible_a also_o whereof_o this_o be_v ordain_v as_o matter_n to_o that_o and_o both_o necessary_a to_o understand_v be_v essential_a part_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o not_o two_o separate_a intelligence_n as_o themistius_n will_v have_v they_o the_o reason_n likewise_o which_o some_o allege_v be_v not_o good_a when_o they_o argue_v that_o the_o soul_n be_v the_o form_n of_o the_o body_n shall_v ever_o have_v a_o desire_n after_o she_o be_v separate_v from_o the_o same_o to_o reunite_v herself_o again_o thereunto_o but_o the_o body_n be_v rot_v and_o corrupt_v her_o desire_n in_o that_o behalf_n shall_v be_v vain_a for_o i_o say_v that_o since_o the_o soul_n have_v inform_v the_o body_n she_o have_v do_v as_o much_o as_o to_o she_o appertain_v neither_o be_v she_o to_o desire_v any_o further_a to_o speak_v natural_o than_o she_o have_v accomplish_v and_o therefore_o she_o remain_v as_o a_o separate_a intelligence_n which_o have_v make_v the_o peripatetike_n to_o affirm_v that_o the_o soul_n separate_v from_o the_o body_n be_v not_o the_o same_o that_o she_o be_v when_o she_o be_v in_o the_o body_n because_o that_o join_v to_o the_o body_n she_o be_v the_o form_n thereof_o but_o separate_v she_o can_v no_o more_o be_v so_o but_o this_o difficulty_n which_o natural_a philosopher_n have_v not_o know_v how_o to_o resolve_v as_o they_o ought_v our_o bless_a saviour_n the_o son_n of_o god_n have_v full_o resolve_v by_o rise_v again_o the_o three_o day_n not_o to_o say_v any_o thing_n of_o other_o raise_v by_o he_o and_o promise_v to_o we_o the_o like_a resurrection_n this_o say_v my_o lord_n primate_n all_o true_a christian_n believe_v but_o since_o we_o be_v debate_v of_o aristotle_n opinion_n where_o he_o say_v that_o the_o passable_a understanding_n die_v and_o some_o of_o his_o interpreter_n say_v that_o it_o be_v the_o possible_a understanding_n how_o shall_v we_o make_v this_o to_o agree_v with_o the_o immortality_n of_o the_o soul_n well_o enough_o say_v i_o for_o they_o that_o so_o interpret_v he_o deceive_v themselves_o for_o there_o be_v as_o great_a difference_n as_o aristotle_n himself_o teach_v between_o the_o passable_a soul_n and_o the_o possible_a soul_n as_o between_o that_o which_o be_v eternal_a and_o that_o which_o be_v corruptible_a the_o passable_a understanding_n according_a to_o aristotle_n be_v the_o fantasy_n or_o the_o imaginative_a or_o cogitative_a power_n call_v it_o how_o you_o please_v the_o which_o auerroes_n say_v be_v take_v at_o large_a but_o not_o proper_o for_o the_o understanding_n and_o as_o a_o inward_a sense_n depend_v upon_o the_o body_n receive_v the_o sensible_a kind_n from_o the_o common_a sense_n and_o present_v they_o to_o the_o possible_a understanding_n which_o be_v the_o place_n of_o the_o intelligible_a kind_n or_o form_n as_o aristotle_n in_o sundry_a place_n declare_v and_o who_o so_o shall_v well_o consider_v themistius_n where_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o multiplication_n of_o the_o understanding_n shall_v find_v that_o he_o suppose_v it_o not_o
as_o our_o christian_a writer_n do_v but_o take_v the_o virtue_n fantastic_a for_o the_o understanding_n multiply_v in_o particular_a person_n and_o therefore_o she_o be_v mingle_v with_o the_o body_n fail_v also_o with_o the_o same_o and_o this_o be_v that_o interior_a thing_n which_o aristotle_n say_v be_v corrupt_v whereby_o the_o understanding_n lose_v his_o virtue_n as_o shall_v be_v show_v which_o happen_v not_o to_o the_o possible_a understanding_n because_o it_o be_v a_o essential_a part_n of_o the_o intellective_a soul_n not_o mingle_v with_o the_o body_n and_o free_a from_o any_o passion_n as_o a_o divine_a substance_n of_o which_o body_n she_o use_v no_o part_n for_o her_o instrument_n to_o understand_v though_o she_o have_v need_n of_o the_o fantasy_n to_o receive_v the_o intelligible_a form_n while_o she_o be_v the_o form_n of_o the_o body_n and_o this_o necessity_n which_o the_o understanding_n have_v of_o the_o fantasy_n to_o understand_v show_v the_o contrary_a of_o that_o which_o these_o fellow_n infer_v who_o hold_v the_o understanding_n to_o be_v mortal_a in_o that_o respect_n for_o by_o this_o it_o appear_v that_o the_o understanding_n proceed_v not_o from_o the_o power_n of_o the_o matter_n for_o if_o so_o it_o be_v it_o shall_v have_v no_o need_n of_o the_o fantasy_n but_o shall_v itself_o be_v the_o fantasy_n and_o therefore_o aristotle_n right_o well_o perceive_v that_o our_o understanding_n be_v not_o fantasy_n nor_o use_v any_o part_n of_o the_o body_n for_o a_o instrument_n say_v that_o the_o understanding_n come_v from_o abroad_o as_o shall_v be_v declare_v it_o be_v therefore_o no_o good_a consequence_n to_o say_v that_o because_o the_o passable_a soul_n die_v therefore_o the_o possible_a soul_n likewise_o be_v mortal_a yea_o but_o say_v m._n spencer_n we_o have_v from_o aristotle_n that_o the_o possible_a understanding_n suffer_v in_o the_o act_n of_o understanding_n and_o to_o suffer_v import_v corruption_n by_o which_o reason_n it_o shall_v be_v mortal_a as_o be_v the_o passable_a neither_o be_v that_o reason_n quoth_v i_o sufficient_a for_o although_o the_o name_n of_o suffer_v agree_v with_o the_o possible_a understanding_n and_o with_o the_o passable_a leave_v the_o difference_n between_o alexander_n and_o aristotle_n in_o that_o point_n the_o reason_n and_o manner_n in_o they_o be_v different_a for_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o passable_a understanding_n tend_v to_o the_o destruction_n thereof_o whereas_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o possible_a be_v to_o the_o great_a perfection_n of_o the_o same_o and_o for_o this_o cause_n aristotle_n tell_v we_o that_o the_o suffering_n of_o the_o sense_n and_o that_o of_o the_o understanding_n be_v not_o both_o of_o one_o nature_n because_o the_o which_o you_o have_v hear_v why_o say_v master_n spenser_n do_v it_o not_o seem_v that_o aristotle_n when_o he_o say_v that_o after_o death_n we_o have_v no_o memory_n that_o he_o mean_v that_o this_o spenser_n that_o the_o soul_n be_v immortal_a and_o impassable_a yet_o by_o experience_n we_o see_v daily_o that_o she_o be_v trouble_v with_o lethargy_n frenzy_n melancholy_a drunkenness_n and_o the_o mean_n of_o moral_a virtue_n which_o be_v the_o perfection_n of_o the_o mind_n &_o settle_a habit_n in_o rule_v the_o appetite_n which_o arise_v out_o of_o the_o unreasonable_a part_n of_o the_o soul_n for_o virtue_n be_v ground_v in_o those_o part_n which_o be_v without_o reason_n but_o yet_o be_v apt_a to_o be_v rule_v by_o reason_n he_o therefore_o see_v moral_a virtue_n be_v not_o get_v by_o know_v only_o what_o they_o be_v but_o through_o the_o long_a practice_n of_o many_o virtuous_a operation_n whereby_o they_o fasten_v themselves_o so_o to_o the_o mind_n as_o be_v convert_v once_o into_o a_o habit_n it_o be_v very_o hard_o afterward_o to_o lose_v the_o same_o even_o as_o of_o vicious_a action_n on_o the_o other_o side_n the_o like_a ensue_v therefore_o with_o all_o carefulness_n and_o diligence_n possible_a he_o labour_v to_o embrace_v the_o one_o and_o to_o eschew_v the_o other_o evermore_o strive_v to_o hold_v himself_o in_o the_o mean_a and_o to_o avoid_v the_o approach_n of_o the_o extreme_n to_o which_o profit_n and_o delight_n under_o deceitful_a mask_n of_o good_a will_v entice_v and_o allure_v he_o i_o pray_v you_o say_v captain_n norreis_n tell_v we_o since_o you_o say_v that_o virtue_n be_v in_o the_o mid_n between_o two_o extreme_n whether_o that_o mean_v you_o speak_v of_o wherein_o virtue_n sit_v be_v so_o equal_o in_o the_o midst_n as_o the_o extreme_n which_o be_v vicious_a be_v alike_o distant_a from_o the_o same_o or_o no_o no_o say_v i_o they_o be_v not_o in_o that_o manner_n equidistant_a for_o oftentimes_o virtue_n approach_v near_a to_o one_o of_o the_o extreme_n then_o to_o the_o other_o as_o for_o example_n fortitude_n which_o consist_v in_o a_o mean_a between_o fearfulness_n and_o foolhardiness_n have_v yet_o a_o near_a resemblance_n to_o foolhardiness_n then_o to_o cowardice_n and_o consequent_o be_v not_o alike_o distant_a from_o they_o both_o and_o be_v in_o this_o manner_n to_o be_v understand_v that_o albeit_o virtue_n consist_v in_o a_o mean_a between_o two_o extreme_n whereof_o the_o one_o be_v a_o defect_n and_o the_o other_o a_o superabundance_n yet_o she_o be_v neither_o of_o they_o both_o as_o by_o our_o example_n of_o fortitude_n appear_v which_o be_v neither_o foole-hardines_n nor_o yet_o cowardice_n but_o only_o a_o commendable_a mean_a or_o temper_n between_o they_o both_o and_o therefore_o aristotle_n say_v right_a well_o that_o the_o mean_a of_o virtue_n between_o two_o extreme_n be_v a_o geometrical_a mean_n which_o have_v a_o respect_n to_o proportion_n and_o not_o a_o arithmetical_a mean_n which_o respect_v equal_a distance_n so_o as_o you_o must_v understand_v that_o virtue_n be_v not_o call_v a_o mean_a between_o two_o extreme_n because_o she_o participate_v of_o either_o of_o they_o both_o but_o because_o she_o be_v neither_o the_o one_o nor_o the_o other_o and_o why_o say_v captain_n norreis_n be_v the_o geometrical_a proportion_n rather_o to_o be_v observe_v therein_o than_o the_o arithmetical_a because_o say_v i_o though_o virtue_n be_v in_o the_o mean_a yet_o do_v they_o bend_v oftentimes_o towards_o one_o of_o the_o extreme_n more_o than_o to_o the_o other_o as_o have_v be_v say_v already_o and_o by_o proportion_n geometrical_a they_o be_v in_o the_o midst_n which_o by_o arithmetical_a will_v not_o be_v so_o for_o thereby_o they_o must_v be_v in_o the_o just_a midst_n and_o equal_o distant_a from_o both_o the_o extreme_n as_o for_o example_n let_v we_o
suppose_v 6._o to_o be_v the_o mean_a between_o 4._o and_o 8_o for_o 6._o have_v two_o more_o than_o 4_o and_o so_o have_v it_o two_o less_o than_o 8_o and_o in_o respect_n of_o itself_o stand_v just_a in_o the_o midst_n between_o 4._o and_o 8_o and_o equal_o distant_a from_o they_o both_o and_o this_o be_v your_o arithmetical_a mean_n but_o the_o geometrical_a proportion_n be_v after_o another_o manner_n for_o suppose_v 2._o and_o 8._o to_o be_v the_o extreme_n and_o 4._o to_o be_v the_o mean_a here_o you_o see_v that_o 2._o &_o 4._o have_v a_o double_a proportion_n and_o so_o have_v 4._o and_o 8._o the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o and_o so_o 4._o participate_v of_o that_o double_a proportion_n as_o well_o with_o 8._o as_o with_o 2_o and_o yet_o be_v near_o to_o 2._o then_o to_o 8_o which_o it_o do_v likewise_o in_o another_o respect_n for_o if_o the_o two_o extreme_n be_v multiply_v together_o as_o 2._o with_o 8._o they_o make_v 16_o and_o so_o much_o do_v 4._o likewise_o be_v multiply_v in_o itself_o for_o four_o time_n 4._o make_v 16._o and_o thus_o you_o see_v what_o difference_n be_v between_o geometrical_a and_o arithmetical_a proportion_n now_o though_o every_o virtue_n have_v peculiar_a extreme_n between_o which_o it_o be_v place_v yet_o philosopher_n say_v that_o they_o consist_v all_o general_o about_o matter_n of_o pleasure_n or_o the_o contrary_n how_o can_v that_o be_v say_v m._n dormer_n when_o you_o have_v tell_v we_o already_o that_o virtue_n be_v not_o pleasure_n it_o be_v say_v i_o one_o thing_n to_o say_v virtue_n be_v pleasure_n and_o a_o other_o to_o say_v that_o it_o consist_v in_o matter_n of_o pleasure_n or_o annoyance_n and_o true_a it_o be_v that_o pleasure_n be_v not_o the_o matter_n of_o virtue_n neither_o mean_v i_o so_o to_o say_v but_o only_o that_o virtue_n be_v busy_v about_o these_o two_o passion_n of_o pleasure_n and_o displeasure_n whereof_o the_o fit_a example_n may_v be_v take_v from_o temperance_n for_o as_o the_o temperate_a man_n embrace_v the_o delight_n of_o the_o mind_n so_o take_v he_o pleasure_n to_o abstain_v from_o the_o unseemly_a delight_n of_o the_o body_n and_o contrariwise_o the_o intemperate_a man_n be_v sad_a because_o he_o have_v they_o not_o well_o say_v m._n dormer_n that_o matter_n be_v soon_o answer_v but_o because_o i_o have_v hear_v the_o stoike_n be_v of_o opinion_n that_o virtue_n be_v true_a felicity_n and_o that_o plotinus_n say_v that_o a_o man_n endue_v with_o virtue_n be_v sufficient_o furnish_v for_o his_o felicity_n as_o be_v possess_v of_o all_o the_o good_a that_o can_v be_v among_o man_n i_o pray_v you_o what_o be_v your_o author_n opinion_n in_o that_o point_n if_o i_o well_o remember_v quoth_v i_o it_o be_v a_o good_a while_n since_o i_o tell_v you_o that_o man_n felicity_n be_v attain_v by_o virtue_n but_o that_o virtue_n be_v his_o felicity_n that_o say_v not_o my_o author_n and_o sure_o the_o opinion_n of_o aristotle_n be_v better_a in_o that_o matter_n then_o that_o of_o the_o stoike_fw-gr for_o reason_n itself_o tell_v we_o that_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v ordain_v to_o a_o end_n can_v be_v the_o end_n itself_o to_o which_o they_o be_v ordain_v and_o since_o virtue_n be_v ordain_v for_o the_o attain_n of_o man_n felicity_n which_o be_v as_o have_v be_v say_v a_o perfect_a action_n according_a to_o virtue_n in_o a_o perfect_a life_n it_o be_v plain_a that_o virtue_n can_v be_v felicity_n though_o he_o that_o be_v virtuous_a approach_v near_o to_o his_o felicity_n you_o say_v true_a say_v m._n dormer_n i_o remember_v you_o expound_v the_o clause_n of_o a_o perfect_a life_n to_o be_v intend_v a_o long_a life_n yet_o the_o same_o stoike_fw-gr hold_v that_o a_o young_a man_n may_v be_v happy_a allege_v felicity_n be_v not_o to_o be_v measure_v by_o quantity_n but_o by_o quality_n and_o that_o not_o length_n of_o time_n but_o perfection_n only_o be_v to_o be_v respect_v which_o they_o say_v may_v be_v as_o well_o in_o a_o young_a man_n as_o in_o a_o old_a and_o they_o give_v the_o example_n of_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n for_o suppose_v say_v they_o that_o two_o hungry_a or_o thirsty_a folk_n be_v call_v to_o eat_v or_o to_o drink_v and_o the_o one_o to_o assuage_v his_o hunger_n or_o thirst_n be_v satisfy_v with_o a_o little_a and_o the_o other_o require_v much_o meat_n or_o drink_v to_o be_v satiate_v yet_o be_v he_o as_o well_o satisfy_v with_o the_o little_a who_o nature_n require_v little_a as_o he_o that_o require_v a_o great_a deal_n even_o so_o say_v they_o in_o humane_a felicity_n the_o length_n of_o time_n or_o number_n of_o year_n be_v not_o to_o be_v respect_v but_o happiness_n itself_o and_o as_o happy_a be_v the_o young_a man_n who_o in_o a_o few_o year_n have_v attain_v his_o felicity_n as_o the_o old_a man_n that_o have_v be_v many_o year_n about_o it_o for_o plotinus_n say_v that_o the_o happy_a man_n can_v reckon_v upon_o the_o year_n pass_v of_o his_o felicity_n but_o only_o on_o the_o present_a the_o stoike_fw-gr hold_v strange_a opinion_n say_v i_o in_o many_o thing_n but_o if_o experience_n be_v needful_a as_o have_v be_v former_o say_v and_o many_o action_n to_o make_v a_o habit_n in_o virtue_n so_o as_o a_o man_n may_v by_o custom_n be_v bring_v to_o that_o pass_n as_o he_o shall_v not_o do_v any_o thing_n but_o according_a to_o virtue_n then_o be_v length_n of_o life_n necessary_a for_o the_o attain_n of_o virtue_n which_o must_v first_o be_v get_v before_o a_o man_n can_v hope_v for_o any_o felicity_n moreover_o if_o prudence_n be_v the_o very_a knot_n and_o band_n of_o all_o the_o moral_a virtue_n and_o that_o the_o young_a man_n can_v be_v prudent_a how_o can_v he_o then_o have_v perfect_a virtue_n wherefore_o the_o definition_n of_o humane_a felicity_n to_o be_v a_o perfect_a operation_n according_a to_o virtue_n have_v need_n of_o this_o addition_n in_o a_o perfect_a life_n which_o must_v be_v long_o and_o he_o be_v further_a off_o from_o prudence_n and_o because_o neither_o of_o they_o can_v have_v either_o perfect_a life_n or_o perfect_a virtue_n and_o as_o for_o the_o opinion_n of_o plotinus_n he_o the_o sea_n the_o day_n the_o night_n whereat_o the_o infernal_a spirit_n tremble_v and_o shake_v even_o as_o good_a man_n on_o earth_n bow_v down_o and_o worship_v the_o same_o with_o continual_a hymn_n and_o praise_n and_o in_o heaven_n no_o less_o all_o the_o order_n and_o bless_a company_n of_o saint_n and_o angel_n do_v the_o like_a world_n without_o end_n this_o lo_o be_v as_o much_o as_o my_o author_n have_v discourse_v upon_o this_o subject_n which_o i_o have_v english_v for_o my_o exercise_n in_o both_o language_n and_o have_v at_o your_o entreaty_n communicate_v unto_o you_o i_o will_v not_o say_v be_v betray_v by_o m._n spencer_n but_o sure_o cunning_o thrust_v in_o to_o take_v up_o this_o task_n whereby_o he_o may_v shift_v himself_o from_o that_o trouble_n but_o howsoever_o it_o be_v if_o it_o have_v like_v you_o as_o it_o be_v i_o shall_v think_v my_o time_n well_o spend_v both_o in_o the_o translate_n of_o it_o at_o the_o first_o and_o in_o the_o relate_n of_o it_o upon_o this_o occasion_n in_o this_o manner_n for_o as_o i_o say_v before_o i_o begin_v that_o i_o will_v not_o tie_v myself_o to_o the_o strict_a law_n of_o a_o interpreter_n so_o have_v i_o in_o some_o place_n omit_v here_o and_o there_o haply_o some_o sentence_n without_o which_o this_o our_o discourse_n may_v be_v complete_a enough_o because_o they_o be_v rather_o point_n of_o subtle_a investigation_n than_o our_o speech_n require_v though_o the_o author_n therein_o perhaps_o aim_v at_o the_o commendation_n of_o a_o great_a reader_n or_o absolute_a philosopher_n and_o in_o the_o description_n of_o some_o of_o the_o moral_a virtue_n add_v somewhat_o out_o of_o other_o and_o what_o have_v be_v say_v concern_v civil_a felicity_n by_o he_o and_o deliver_v in_o substance_n by_o i_o i_o think_v you_o will_v allow_v to_o be_v sufficient_a since_o therefore_o my_o task_n be_v do_v and_o that_o it_o grow_v late_a with_o this_o only_a petition_n that_o you_o will_v be_v content_a to_o bear_v with_o the_o roughness_n of_o my_o speech_n in_o report_v that_o unto_o you_o which_o in_o his_o language_n our_o author_n have_v eloquent_o set_v down_o i_o end_v here_o all_o the_o company_n arise_v and_o give_v i_o great_a thanks_n seem_v to_o rest_v very_o well_o satisfy_v as_o well_o with_o the_o manner_n as_o with_o the_o matter_n at_o the_o least_o so_o of_o their_o
