if_o they_o have_v child_n at_o the_o university_n they_o will_v inquire_v how_o they_o go_v on_o in_o learning_n and_o virtue_n thus_o this_o father_n of_o soul_n absent_a from_o they_o can_v do_v no_o other_o but_o be_v delight_v to_o learn_v how_o they_o do_v grow_v towards_o god_n use_v which_o thing_n may_v check_v many_o pastor_n nowadays_o who_o epistle_n if_o one_o read_v you_o shall_v find_v nothing_o they_o listen_v after_o but_o news_n like_o those_o athenian_n act_n 17._o news_n fit_a for_o man_n that_o follow_v the_o exchange_n then_o for_o those_o who_o be_v father_n in_o of_o their_o duty_n viz._n the_o knowledge_n of_o their_o state_n to_o who_o they_o be_v to_o speak_v doct._n 2_o second_o observe_v about_o what_o the_o faith_n of_o these_o ephesian_n be_v occupy_v even_o about_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n we_o read_v sometime_o the_o faith_n of_o christ_n sometime_o the_o faith_n on_o christ_n sometime_o faith_n in_o christ_n as_o here_o they_o note_v much_o the_o same_o thing_n but_o that_o the_o first_o may_v be_v conceive_v as_o propound_v christ_n the_o simple_a object_n of_o faith_n the_o second_o phrase_n note_v christ_n the_o object_n together_o with_o our_o adhere_n to_o he_o the_o three_o note_v christ_n the_o object_n our_o inner_a in_o he_o together_o with_o the_o word_n pround_v as_o the_o way_n and_o mean_v by_o which_o we_o come_v beleeve_o to_o inhere_o in_o he_o for_o that_o distinction_n which_o some_o make_v follow_v some_o of_o the_o ancient_a be_v not_o by_o scripture_n warrantable_a which_o do_v indifferent_o appropriate_v these_o two_o phrase_n to_o the_o saint_n to_o believe_v in_o the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o to_o believe_v on_o he_o christ_n be_v every_o where_o make_v the_o thing_n which_o faith_n seed_n of_o isaac_n do_v apprehend_v that_o bless_a seed_n which_o have_v from_o the_o beginning_n be_v promise_v and_o see_v his_o day_n which_o the_o apostle_n do_v testify_v gal._n 3._o neither_o of_o we_o with_o heavenly_a desire_n and_o holy_a affection_n be_v no_o small_a power_n neither_o be_v it_o less_o wonderful_a then_o to_o see_v iron_n and_o lead_n fly_v upward_o be_v it_o no_o less_o frequent_o wrought_v then_o the_o other_o again_o what_o a_o power_n be_v it_o that_o inward_o confirm_v and_o strengthen_v we_o that_o we_o be_v not_o overcome_v yea_o that_o do_v chain_n up_o full_a redemption_n of_o our_o soul_n and_o body_n use_v 1_o the_o use_n be_v first_o to_o stir_v we_o up_o to_o thankfulness_n who_o have_v find_v the_o power_n of_o god_n work_v thus_o for_o we_o yea_o that_o it_o be_v with_o we_o to_o work_v further_o for_o we_o what_o ever_o belong_v to_o our_o salvation_n they_o who_o do_v find_v christ_n miracle_n power_n cast_v out_o devil_n in_o they_o heal_v leprosy_n they_o be_v bind_v to_o praise_v he_o but_o we_o be_v epitomy_n of_o all_o his_o miraculous_a cure_n in_o heal_v we_o he_o do_v show_v they_o all_o dumb_a spirit_n deaf_a spirit_n crooked_a spirit_n who_o do_v so_o hold_v the_o joint_n of_o our_o heart_n downward_o that_o they_o can_v look_v up_o leprosy_n lunacy_n etc._n etc._n that_o be_v do_v in_o we_o which_o answer_v they_o all_o but_o that_o his_o power_n shall_v be_v still_o towards_o we_o to_o work_v further_a thing_n in_o our_o behalf_n this_o be_v matter_n of_o much_o rejoice_v fear_v not_o thou_o who_o heart_n believe_v in_o fire_n and_o water_n he_o be_v with_o thou_o to_o deliver_v thou_o if_o thou_o do_v see_v no_o footstep_n or_o print_n of_o some_o grace_n in_o thyself_o which_o thou_o much_o desire_v that_o power_n be_v with_o thou_o which_o call_v and_o make_v the_o thing_n which_o be_v not_o stand_v forth_o as_o if_o they_o be_v if_o thou_o have_v sinful_a inclination_n of_o never_o such_o strength_n and_o continuance_n that_o power_n be_v with_o thou_o which_o can_v dry_v up_o these_o issue_n and_o heal_v infirmity_n of_o long_a continuance_n use_v 2_o second_o let_v we_o labour_n as_o we_o will_v have_v this_o power_n work_v more_o and_o more_o in_o we_o so_o to_o grow_v up_o in_o belief_n christ_n can_v not_o show_v his_o apparent_a miraculous_a power_n where_o unbelief_n hinder_v so_o he_o will_v not_o display_v this_o power_n in_o those_o who_o labour_v not_o by_o faith_n to_o give_v he_o glory_n it_o be_v one_o thing_n to_o know_v this_o power_n another_o thing_n to_o have_v this_o power_n work_v in_o we_o the_o mean_n of_o the_o former_a be_v above_o brief_o touch_v it_o shall_v not_o be_v amiss_o to_o mention_v some_o also_o concern_v this_o latter_a the_o first_o be_v i_o say_v grow_v up_o in_o faith_n the_o second_o be_v a_o conscience_n of_o our_o own_o inability_n saint_n paul_n be_v full_a of_o of_o this_o we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o think_v a_o thought_n when_o we_o be_v of_o no_o strength_n as_o one_o must_v have_v conscience_n of_o his_o folly_n before_o he_o can_v be_v make_v wise_a so_o before_o we_o can_v have_v the_o power_n of_o god_n work_n in_o we_o and_o strengthen_v we_o we_o must_v be_v conscious_a of_o our_o own_o utterinability_n to_o every_o good_a word_n and_o work_n three_o we_o must_v submit_v ourselves_o to_o church_n be_v the_o body_n of_o the_o pope_n but_o they_o may_v as_o well_o confident_o say_v this_o man_n be_v father_n to_o this_o child_n and_o yet_o be_v afraid_a to_o say_v this_o child_n be_v
