have_v no_o proper_a light_n or_o evidence_n or_o demonstration_n of_o its_o own_o such_o as_o the_o spirit_n that_o be_v in_o the_o apostle_n be_v no_o infallible_a spirit_n that_o they_o have_v but_o fallible_a and_o therefore_o their_o faith_n be_v fallible_a their_o knowledge_n fallible_a their_o hope_n fallible_a and_o every_o thing_n in_o they_o fallible_a dubious_a conjectural_a and_o uncertain_a and_o they_o only_o think_v that_o they_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o a_o spiritual_a knowledge_n of_o thing_n and_o when_o ask_v they_o dare_v not_o say_v their_o thought_n have_v any_o infallible_a assurance_n in_o it_o as_o all_o true_a assurance_n be_v infallible_a yea_o some_o of_o they_o be_v so_o dark_a ignorant_a and_o blind_a that_o to_o i_o in_o my_o hear_n have_v affirm_v that_o the_o apostle_n paul_n be_v not_o infallible_o sure_a that_o he_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n bring_v paul_n word_n 1_o cor._n 7.40_o i_o think_v also_o that_o i_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n but_o according_a to_o his_o blind_a argument_n the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v not_o infallible_o sure_a for_o the_o same_o greek_a word_n be_v apply_v to_o the_o holy_a ghost_n act_v 15.28_o it_o seem_v good_a to_o the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o this_o be_v blasphemous_a to_o think_v or_o affirm_v and_o i_o see_v not_o how_o they_o can_v clear_v their_o doctrine_n of_o blasphemy_n to_o say_v that_o they_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o to_o affirm_v that_o they_o have_v no_o infallible_a spirit_n the_o plain_a english_a of_o which_o be_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o god_n himself_o be_v fallible_a 6._o but_o the_o great_a cause_n and_o reason_n why_o all_o true_a minister_n and_o preacher_n of_o the_o gospel_n shall_v not_o only_o be_v true_o godly_a and_o holy_a man_n but_o also_o shall_v be_v endue_v with_o some_o more_o than_o ordinary_a power_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o communication_n thereof_o not_o common_a to_o all_o a_o church_n of_o god_n or_o christ_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_a these_o who_o have_v the_o form_n of_o godliness_n but_o have_v not_o the_o power_n of_o it_o and_o deny_v the_o power_n the_o scripture_n bid_v turn_v away_o from_o they_o for_o of_o this_o sort_n be_v they_o which_o creep_v into_o house_n etc._n etc._n see_v 2_o tim._n 3.5_o 6._o and_o consequent_o these_o can_v be_v no_o upon_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o teach_v and_o instruct_v and_o edify_v one_o another_o every_o one_o use_v his_o spiritual_a gift_n of_o ministration_n whether_o in_o pray_v or_o prophesy_v to_o the_o edification_n of_o the_o whole_a may_v be_v call_v a_o visible_a church_n insomuch_o that_o they_o appear_v in_o external_a or_o outward_a and_o bodily_a work_n and_o action_n that_o be_v visible_a but_o as_o the_o body_n without_o life_n or_o spirit_n be_v dead_a and_o can_v proper_o be_v call_v a_o man_n
so_o a_o church_n or_o assembly_n of_o people_n only_o profess_v the_o true_a religion_n but_o have_v nothing_o of_o the_o true_a life_n and_o spirit_n of_o christ_n and_o who_o outward_a and_o bodily_a service_n and_o work_n have_v no_o inward_a and_o spiritual_a virtue_n and_o life_n in_o they_o which_o be_v that_o salt_n that_o make_v they_o savoury_a and_o do_v recommend_v they_o unto_o god_n so_o that_o he_o savour_v a_o sweet_a savour_n in_o they_o can_v be_v true_o and_o just_o account_v a_o true_a church_n of_o christ_n for_o we_o no_o where_o find_v in_o scripture_n any_o society_n or_o company_n of_o people_n call_v the_o church_n of_o christ_n who_o have_v nothing_o but_o the_o profession_n of_o the_o true_a religion_n and_o although_o hypocrite_n and_o mere_a
