meaning_n of_o this_o law_n then_o he_o or_o they_o shall_v for_o such_o offence_n forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o five_o hundred_o pound_n of_o lawful_a money_n of_o england_n unto_o any_o party_n grieve_v his_o executor_n or_o administrator_n who_o shall_v real_o prosecute_v for_o the_o same_o and_o first_o obtain_v judgement_n thereupon_o to_o be_v recover_v in_o any_o court_n of_o record_n at_o westminster_n by_o action_n of_o debt_n bill_n plaint_n or_o information_n wherein_o no_o essoign_n protection_n wager_n of_o law_n aid-prayer_n privilege_n injunction_n or_o order_n of_o respective_o 4._o and_o shall_v be_v likewise_o disable_v to_o make_v any_o gift_n grant_v conveyance_n or_o other_o disposition_n of_o any_o of_o his_o land_n tenement_n hereditament_n good_n or_o chattel_n or_o to_o take_v any_o benefit_n of_o any_o gift_n conveyance_n or_o legacy_n to_o his_o own_o use_n 7._o and_o every_o person_n so_o offend_v shall_v likewise_o forfeit_v and_o lose_v to_o the_o party_n grieve_v by_o any_o thing_n do_v contrary_a to_o the_o true_a intent_n and_o meaning_n of_o this_o law_n his_o treble_a damage_n which_o he_o shall_v sustain_v and_o be_v put_v unto_o by_o mean_n or_o occasion_n of_o any_o such_o act_n or_o thing_n do_v the_o same_o to_o be_v recover_v in_o any_o of_o his_o majesty_n court_n of_o record_n at_o westminster_n by_o action_n of_o debt_n bill_n plaint_n or_o information_n wherein_o no_o essoign_n protection_n wager_n of_o law_n aid-prayer_n privilege_n injunction_n or_o order_n of_o restraint_n shall_v be_v in_o any_o wise_a warrant_n of_o the_o king_n majesty_n his_o heir_n and_o successor_n in_o their_o own_o person_n or_o by_o the_o command_n or_o warrant_n of_o the_o council-board_n or_o oâ—_n any_o of_o the_o lord_n or_o other_o of_o his_o majesty_n privy_a council_n 3._o that_o in_o every_o such_o case_n every_o person_n so_o commit_v restrain_v of_o his_o liberty_n or_o suffer_v imprisonment_n upon_o demand_n or_o motion_n make_v by_o his_o council_n or_o other_o employ_v by_o he_o for_o that_o purpose_n unto_o the_o judge_n of_o the_o court_n of_o king's-bench_n or_o common-plea_n in_o open_a court_n shall_v without_o delay_n upon_o any_o pretence_n whatsoever_o for_o the_o ordinary_a fee_n usual_o pay_v for_o the_o same_o have_v forthwith_o grant_v unto_o he_o a_o writ_n of_o habeas_fw-la corpus_fw-la to_o be_v direct_v general_o unto_o all_o and_o every_o sheriff_n jailer_n minister_n officer_n or_o other_o person_n in_o who_o custody_n the_o person_n commit_v or_o restrain_v shall_v to_o all_o court_n of_o like_a jurisdiction_n to_o be_v hereafter_o erect_v ordain_v constitute_v or_o appoint_v as_o aforesaid_a and_o to_o the_o warrant_n and_o direction_n of_o the_o council-board_n and_o to_o the_o commitment_n restraint_n and_o imprisonment_n of_o any_o person_n or_o person_n make_v command_v or_o award_v by_o the_o king_n majesty_n his_o heir_n or_o successor_n colour_n or_o pretence_n of_o exercise_n of_o religion_n contrary_a to_o the_o law_n and_o statute_n of_o this_o kingdom_n have_v settle_v themselves_o in_o divers_a corporation_n in_o england_n divine_a service_n establish_v by_o the_o law_n of_o this_o kingdom_n and_o carry_v he_o or_o herself_o reverent_o decent_o and_o orderly_o there_o to_o teach_v any_o public_a or_o private_a school_n or_o take_v any_o boarder_n or_o tabler_n that_o be_v teach_v or_o instruct_v by_o he_o or_o herself_o or_o any_o other_o upon_o pain_n for_o every_o such_o offence_n to_o forfeit_v the_o sum_n of_o forty_o pound_n to_o be_v recover_v and_o distribute_v as_o aforesaid_a v._o provide_v also_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o it_o shall_v be_v lawful_a for_o any_o two_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n of_o the_o respective_a county_n upon_o oath_n to_o they_o of_o any_o offence_n against_o this_o act_n which_o oath_n they_o be_v hereby_o impower_v to_o administer_v to_o commit_v the_o offender_n for_o six_o month_n without_o bail_n or_o mainprize_n unless_o upon_o or_o before_o such_o commitment_n he_o shall_v before_o the_o say_a justice_n of_o the_o peace_n swear_v and_o subscribe_v the_o aforesaid_a oath_n and_o declaration_n vi_o provide_v always_o that_o if_o any_o person_n intend_v to_o be_v restrain_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n in_o custody_n to_o procure_v their_o liberty_n but_o before_o this_o statute_n be_v render_v far_o less_o useful_a than_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v partly_o by_o the_o judge_n pretend_v a_o power_n to_o grant_v or_o deny_v the_o say_v write_v at_o their_o pleasure_n in_o many_o case_n and_o especial_o by_o the_o ill_a practice_n of_o sheriff_n and_o gaoler_n by_o put_v the_o prisoner_n to_o the_o charge_n and_o trouble_v of_o a_o alias_o and_o plury_n that_o be_v a_o second_o and_o three_o writ_n before_o they_o will_v obey_v the_o first_o for_o there_o be_v no_o penalty_n till_o the_o three_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o sheriff_n or_o other_o officer_n to_o who_o such_o writ_n of_o excommunicato_fw-la capiendo_fw-la or_o other_o process_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n shall_v be_v direct_v shall_v not_o in_o any_o wise_a be_v compel_v to_o bring_v the_o

whatsoever_o 15._o provide_v and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o every_o alderman_n of_o london_n for_o the_o time_n be_v within_o the_o city_n of_o london_n and_o the_o liberty_n thereof_o shall_v have_v and_o they_o and_o every_o of_o they_o be_v hereby_o impower_v and_o require_v to_o execute_v the_o same_o power_n and_o authority_n within_o london_n and_o the_o liberty_n thereof_o for_o the_o examine_v convict_v and_o punish_v of_o all_o offence_n within_o this_o act_n commit_v within_o london_n and_o the_o liberty_n thereof_o which_o any_o religious_a worship_n that_o be_v where_o the_o conventicler_n meet_v together_o under_o a_o pretence_n of_o worship_n not_o according_a to_o the_o liturgy_n and_o practice_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n but_o indeed_o to_o carry_v on_o ill_a design_n against_o the_o state_n 2._o if_o any_o such_o conventicle_n be_v the_o justices_z know_v it_o by_o the_o oath_n of_o two_o witness_n may_v
