every_o person_n so_o to_o be_v set_v rate_a and_o tax_v according_a to_o the_o rate_n of_o the_o substante_fw-la &_o value_n of_o his_o land_n good_n chattel_n and_o other_o profit_v chargeable_a by_o this_o act_n whereby_o the_o great_a or_o most_o best_a sum_n or_o sum_n according_a to_o his_o most_o substance_n by_o reason_n of_o this_o act_n might_n or_o may_v be_v set_v or_o tax_v and_o that_o every_o person_n tax_v in_o any_o county_n or_o place_n other_o then_z where_o he_o and_o his_o family_n be_v resident_a for_o the_o most_o part_n of_o the_o year_n than_o next_o before_o or_o in_o any_o county_n or_o place_n other_o then_z where_o he_o be_v a_o commissioner_n for_o the_o subsidy_n if_o he_o be_v a_o commissioner_n upon_o certificate_n make_v to_o the_o say_a court_n of_o exchequer_n under_o the_o hand_n &_o seal_n of_o two_o commissioner_n for_o the_o same_o subsidy_n in_o the_o same_o county_n or_o place_n where_o such_o person_n &_o his_o family_n be_v resiant_a for_o the_o most_o part_n of_o the_o year_n next_o before_o or_o where_o he_o be_v a_o commissioner_n for_o the_o taxation_n &_o payment_n of_o the_o same_o subsidy_n testify_v such_o his_o most_o restancy_n have_v a_o family_n or_o be_v a_o commmissioner_n shall_v be_v a_o sufficient_a discharge_n for_o the_o taxation_n of_o that_o person_n in_o all_o other_o place_n &_o of_o &_o for_o all_o other_o sum_n of_o money_n upon_o such_o person_n so_o set_v and_o tax_v save_v only_o the_o taxation_n make_v in_o that_o county_n or_o place_n from_o which_o such_o certificate_n shall_v be_v make_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a and_o for_o the_o sum_n of_o money_n upon_o such_o person_n there_o assess_v or_o tax_v and_o that_o such_o certificate_n without_o any_o plea_n or_o other_o circumstance_n shall_v be_v a_o sufficient_a warrant_n as_o well_o to_o the_o baron_n and_o auditor_n and_o auditor_n of_o the_o say_a court_n of_o excheequer_n and_o to_o all_o and_o every_o other_o officer_n to_o who_o the_o allowance_n thereof_o shall_v appertain_v pay_v for_o such_o discharge_n and_o allowance_n only_o six_o penny_n and_o no_o more_o provide_v always_o that_o every_o such_o person_n which_o shall_v be_v rate_v or_o tax_v according_a to_o the_o intent_n and_o true_a meaning_n of_o this_o act_n for_o payment_n of_o and_o to_o this_o subsidy_n for_o and_o after_o the_o yearly_a value_n of_o his_o land_n tenement_n &_o other_o real_a possession_n or_o profit_n at_o any_o of_o the_o say_a taxation_n shall_v not_o after_o be_v set_v and_o rate_v for_o his_o good_n and_o chattel_n or_o other_o moneable_a substance_n at_o the_o same_o taxation_n and_o that_o he_o that_o shall_v be_v set_v charge_v or_o tax_v for_o the_o same_o subsidy_n for_o his_o good_n charel_n &_o other_o movable_n at_o any_o of_o the_o say_a taxation_n according_a to_o the_o true_a meaning_n of_o this_o art_n shall_v not_o after_o be_v chatge_v tax_v or_o chargeable_a for_o his_o lend_v or_o other_o real_a possession_n and_o profit_v abovesaid_a at_o the_o same_o taxation_n or_o any_o of_o they_o nor_o that_o any_o person_n by_o any_o taxation_n be_v double_o charge_v for_o the_o say_a subsidy_n nor_o set_v or_o tax_v at_o several_a place_n by_o reason_n of_o this_o act._n but_o if_o any_o person_n happen_v to_o be_v double_o set_v tax_v or_o charge_v either_o in_o any_o place_n or_o at_o several_a place_n than_o he_o to_o be_v discharge_v of_o the_o one_o taxation_n &_o charge_v with_o the_o other_o according_a to_o the_o meaning_n and_o intent_n of_o this_o act_n any_o thing_n contain_v in_o this_o present_a act_n to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o and_o that_o it_o be_v ordain_v and_o enact_v by_o the_o say_a authority_n of_o this_o present_a parliament_n that_o no_o person_n have_v two_o mansion_n or_o two_o place_n to_o resort_v unto_o or_o call_v himself_o household_n servant_n or_o waiting-seruant_n to_o the_o lord-deputy_n or_o other_o lord_n or_o lady_n master_n or_o mistress_n be_v excuse_v upon_o his_o say_n from_o the_o tax_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n in_o neither_o of_o the_o place_n where_o he_o may_v be_v set_v or_o tax_v unless_o he_o bring_v a_o certificate_n in_o write_v from_o the_o commissioner_n where_o that_o he_o be_v so_o set_v or_o tax_v indeed_o at_o one_o place_n and_o if_o any_o person_n that_o ought_v to_o be_v set_v and_o tax_v to_o this_o present_a subsidy_n by_o reason_n of_o his_o remove_n and_o resort_v to_o two_o place_n or_o by_o reason_n of_o his_o say_n that_o he_o else_o where_o be_v tax_v or_o by_o reason_n of_o any_o privilege_n of_o his_o dwell_n or_o abide_v in_o any_o place_n not_o be_v foreprise_v in_o this_o act_n or_o otherwise_o by_o his_o covine_n or_o craft_n or_o by_o any_o word_n or_o say_n or_o otherwise_o or_o if_o any_o that_o be_v a_o commissioner_n or_o assessor_n of_o other_o happen_v to_o escape_v from_o the_o say_a taxation_n for_o the_o payment_n of_o this_o subsidy_n and_o be_v not_o set_v and_o tax_v according_a to_o the_o true_a intent_n of_o this_o act_n and_o that_o prodned_a by_o presentment_n examination_n information_n or_o otherwise_o before_o the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o two_o of_o they_o or_o before_o the_o baron_n of_o the_o king_n majesty_n exchequer_n or_o two_o justice_n of_o the_o peace_n of_o the_o county_n where_o such_o person_n dwell_v than_o every_o such_o person_n that_o by_o such_o mean_n or_o otherwise_o willing_o by_o covin_z or_o without_o just_a cause_n shall_v happen_v to_o escape_v from_o the_o say_a taxation_n or_o payment_n aforesaid_a or_o any_o of_o they_o and_o shall_v not_o be_v rate_v tax_v and_o set_v shall_v be_v charge_v upon_o the_o knowledge_n and_o proof_n thereof_o with_o &_o at_o the_o double_a value_n of_o somuth_n as_o he_o shall_v might_n or_o aught_o to_o have_v be_v set_v and_o tax_v at_o by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n and_o the_o same_o double_a value_n to_o be_v gather_v levy_v and_o pay_v of_o his_o good_n and_o chattel_n land_n and_o tenement_n towards_o the_o say_a subsidy_n and_o further_o to_o be_v punish_v according_a to_o the_o discretion_n of_o the_o baron_n justice_n and_o commissioner_n before_o who_o he_o shall_v be_v commit_v for_o his_o offence_n and_o deceit_n in_o that_o behalf_n and_o he_o it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o the_o say_v commissioner_n in_o every_o commission_n which_o shall_v 〈◊〉_d or_o inhabit_v in_o any_o county_n or_o place_n within_o the_o simit_n of_o their_o commission_n or_o the_o more_o part_n of_o they_o shall_v have_v full_a power_n and_o authority_n by_o this_o art_n to_o set_v tax_v and_o sesse_v every_o other_o commissioner_n join_v with_o they_o in_o every_o such_o commission_n and_o the_o say_a commissioner_n within_o every_o division_n shall_v also_o assess_v every_o assessor_n within_o he_o or_o their_o division_n for_o his_o or_o their_o good_n land_n and_o other_o the_o premist_n as_o be_v abovesaid_a by_o the_o which_o say_v commission_n the_o say_a commissioner_n to_o who_o it_o shall_v appertain_v shall_v indifferent_o set_v tax_v and_o sesse_v themselves_o and_o the_o say_a assessor_n and_o that_o as_o well_o the_o sum_n upon_o every_o of_o the_o say_a commissioner_n and_o assessor_n so_o sess_v rate_a and_o tax_v as_o the_o sum_n make_v and_o present_v by_o the_o presenter_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a shall_v be_v write_v certify_v set_v and_o estreat_v and_o the_o estreat_v thereof_o to_o be_v make_v with_o the_o other_o inhabitant_n of_o that_o part_n and_o within_o the_o limit_n of_o the_o same_o commission_n and_o division_n so_o to_o be_v gather_v and_o levy_v in_o like_a manner_n as_o it_o ought_v or_o shall_v have_v be_v if_o the_o say_a commissioner_n have_v not_o be_v in_o the_o say_v commission_n and_o that_o all_o person_n of_o the_o estate_n of_o a_o baron_n or_o baron_n and_o every_o estate_n above_o shall_v be_v charge_v with_o their_o freehâ—_n 〈◊〉_d and_o value_n as_o aforesaid_a by_o the_o lord-deputy_n or_o other_o chief_a governor_n of_o this_o realm_n with_o the_o aâ—erise_n aforesaid_a and_o they_o to_o be_v charge_v for_o the_o say_v several_a payment_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n after_o the_o form_n of_o the_o say_v grant_v according_a to_o the_o taxation_n aforesaid_a and_o the_o summie_n of_o and_o upon_o they_o to_o be_v set_v and_o tax_v with_o the_o name_n of_o the_o collector_n appoint_v for_o the_o gather_n and_o pay_v of_o the_o same_o to_o be_v estreat_v deliver_v and_o certify_v at_o day_n and_o place_n alone_o specify_v by_o the_o lord-deputy_n or_o other_o chief_a governor_n of_o the_o
the_o say_a commissioner_n which_o then_o shall_v have_v take_v upon_o they_o the_o execution_n of_o any_o part_n of_o the_o say_a commission_n shall_v by_o himself_o or_o his_o sufficient_a deputy_n true_o certify_v and_o bring_v forth_o unto_o the_o say_a commissioner_n name_v in_o the_o say_a commission_n the_o certificate_n and_o presentment_n make_v before_o he_o and_o such_o other_o commissioner_n as_o be_v limit_v with_o he_o in_o one_o limit_n so_o that_o the_o same_o certificate_n may_v be_v accounpt_v and_o cast_v with_o the_o other_o certificat_o of_o the_o other_o limit_n their_o executor_n or_o administrator_n of_o their_o good_n if_o they_o then_o be_v dead_a shall_v joint_o and_o several_o as_o they_o be_v divide_v in_o their_o limit_n under_o their_o seal_n by_o their_o discretion_n make_v one_o or_o several_a writing_n indent_v contain_v in_o it_o as_o well_o the_o name_n of_o the_o say_a collector_n by_o the_o commissioner_n for_o such_o collection_n and_o accounpt_n in_o the_o exchequer_n and_o payment_n in_o the_o same_o receipt_n depute_v and_o assign_v as_o the_o gross_a and_o several_a sum_n write_v unto_o every_o such_o collector_n to_o receive_v the_o say_a subsidy_n and_o also_o all_o fine_n amerciament_n and_o other_o forfeiture_n if_o any_o such_o by_o reason_n of_o this_o act_n happen_v to_o be_v within_o the_o precinct_n and_o limit_n of_o their_o commission_n to_o be_v certify_v into_o the_o king_n majesty_n say_v exchequer_n by_o the_o say_a commissioner_n in_o which_o writing_n or_o write_n indent_v so_o to_o be_v certify_v shall_v be_v plain_o declare_v and_o express_v the_o whole_a and_o entire_a sum_n or_o sum_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n several_o limit_v to_o the_o collection_n of_o the_o say_a collector_n several_o depute_v and_o assign_v to_o the_o collection_n of_o the_o say_a sum_n so_o that_o none_o of_o the_o say_a collector_n so_o certify_v in_o the_o say_a exchequer_n shall_v be_v compel_v there_o to_o account_n or_o to_o be_v charge_v but_o only_o to_o and_o for_o the_o sum_n limit_v to_o his_o collection_n and_o not_o to_o and_o for_o any_o sum_n limit_v to_o the_o collection_n of_o his_o fellow_n but_o every_o of_o they_o shall_v be_v several_o charge_v for_o their_o part_n limit_v to_o their_o collection_n and_o if_o the_o say_a commissioner_n join_v in_o one_o commission_n among_o themselves_o in_o that_o matter_n can_v agree_v or_o if_o any_o of_o they_o be_v not_o ready_a or_o refuse_v to_o make_v certificate_n with_o other_o of_o the_o same_o commissioner_n that_o then_o the_o say_a commissioner_n may_v make_v several_a indenture_n in_o form_n aforesaid_a of_o their_o several_a limit_n or_o separation_n of_o collector_n within_o the_o limit_n of_o their_o commission_n upon_o and_o in_o the_o barony_n cantred_n or_o such_o other_o like_o devision_n within_o the_o say_v several_a limit_n of_o their_o commission_n as_o the_o place_n there_o shall_v require_v to_o be_v sever_v and_o divide_v and_o as_o to_o the_o same_o commissioner_n shall_v seem_v good_a to_o make_v devision_n of_o their_o limit_n or_o collection_n for_o the_o several_a charge_n of_o the_o same_o collector_n so_o that_o always_o one_o collector_n shall_v be_v charge_v and_o account_n for_o his_o part_n to_o he_o to_o be_v limit_v only_o by_o himself_o and_o not_o for_o any_o sum_n limit_v to_o the_o part_n of_o any_o of_o his_o fellow_n and_o the_o charge_n of_o every_o of_o the_o collector_n to_o be_v set_v and_o certify_v several_o upon_o they_o and_o every_o such_o collector_n upon_o his_o account_n and_o payment_n of_o the_o sum_n of_o money_n limit_v within_o his_o collection_n to_o be_v several_o by_o himself_o acquit_v and_o discharge_v in_o the_o say_a exchequer_n without_o pay_v any_o manner_n of_o fee_n or_o reward_n to_o any_o person_n or_o person_n for_o the_o same_o upon_o pain_n and_o penalty_n last_v abovesaid_a and_o not_o to_o be_v charge_v for_o any_o portion_n of_o any_o other_o collector_n and_o if_o any_o commissioner_n after_o he_o have_v take_v certificate_n of_o they_o that_o as_o be_v aforesaid_a shalve_n lefore_o any_o such_o commissioner_n examine_v and_o the_o sum_n rate_v and_o set_v and_o the_o book_n &_o writing_n thereof_o be_v in_o his_o hand_n or_o if_o any_o collector_n or_o other_o person_n charge_v with_o any_o receipt_n of_o any_o part_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n or_o any_o other_o person_n tax_v or_o otherwise_o by_o this_o act_n charge_v with_o or_o for_o any_o parcel_n of_o the_o say_a substdie_n or_o with_o any_o other_o sum_n fine_a amerciament_n penalty_n or_o other_o forfeiture_n happen_v to_o die_v before_o the_o commissioner_n collector_n or_o other_o whatsoever_o person_n or_o person_n have_v execute_v accomplish_v satissy_v or_o sufficient_o discharge_v that_o which_o to_o every_o such_o person_n shall_v appertain_v or_o belong_v to_o do_v according_a to_o this_o act_n than_o the_o executor_n and_o heir_n of_o every_o such_o person_n and_o all_o other_o seiss_v of_o any_o land_n and_o cenement_n that_o any_o such_o person_n be_v charge_v by_o this_o act_n and_o decease_a before_o he_o be_v discharge_v thereof_o or_o any_o other_o to_o his_o use_n only_o have_v of_o estate_n of_o inheritance_n at_o the_o time_n that_o any_o such_o person_n be_v name_v commissioner_n collector_n or_o otherwise_o charge_v with_o or_o for_o any_o manner_n of_o thing_n to_o be_v do_v satisfy_v or_o pay_v by_o reason_n of_o this_o act_n and_o all_o those_o that_o have_v in_o their_o possession_n or_o hand_n any_o good_n chattel_n lease_n or_o other_o thing_n that_o be_v to_o any_o person_n or_o person_n at_o the_o time_n of_o his_o death_n or_o any_o land_n or_o tenement_n that_o be_v to_o the_o same_o person_n at_o the_o time_n he_o be_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a charge_v by_o this_o act_n shalve_n by_o the_o same_o compel_v and_o charge_v to_o do_v and_o accomplish_v in_o every_o case_n as_o the_o same_o person_n so_o be_v charge_v shall_v have_v do_v or_o may_v have_v be_v compel_v to_o do_v it_o he_o have_v be_v 〈◊〉_d plaâ—e_a life_n after_o such_o rate_n of_o the_o land_n and_o good_n of_o the_o say_a commissioner_n or_o collector_n as_o the_o party_n shall_v have_v in_o his_o hand_n and_o if_o the_o say_a commissioner_n for_o cause_n reasonable_a they_o move_v shall_v think_v it_o not_o convenient_a to_o join_v in_o one_o certificate_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a then_o the_o say_a person_n or_o person_n that_o shall_v first_o join_v together_o or_o he_o that_o shall_v first_o certify_v the_o say_a writing_n indent_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a shall_v certify_v all_o the_o name_n of_o the_o commissioner_n of_o that_o commission_n whereupon_o such_o writing_n shall_v be_v there_o then_o to_o be_v certify_v with_o division_n of_o the_o barony_n cantred_n hundred_o tything_n and_o other_o place_n to_z and_z among_o such_o commissioner_n of_o the_o same_o commission_n with_o the_o name_n of_o the_o same_o commissioner_n where_o such_o separation_n and_o devision_n shall_v be_v with_o the_o gross_a sum_n of_o money_n as_o well_o of_o and_o for_o the_o say_a subsidy_n tax_v or_o set_v of_o or_o within_o the_o say_a barony_n cantred_n hundred_o tything_n or_o other_o place_n to_o he_o or_o they_o divide_v or_o assign_v that_o shall_v so_o certify_v the_o say_v first_o writing_n as_o of_o the_o fine_n amerciament_n penalty_n &_o other_o forfeiture_n if_o any_o happen_v to_o be_v within_o the_o same_o limit_n whereof_o the_o same_o writing_n shaide_v certiâ—ed_v and_o after_o such_o writing_n indent_v which_o as_o be_v aforesaid_a shall_v be_v certify_v and_o not_o contain_v in_o it_o the_o whole_a and_o full_a sum_n set_v and_o tax_v within_o the_o limit_n of_o the_o say_a commission_n the_o other_o commissioner_n of_o the_o same_o before_o the_o day_n of_o payment_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n shall_v certify_v into_o the_o say_a exchequer_n by_o their_o writing_n or_o writing_n indent_v to_o be_v make_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a the_o gross_a and_o several_a sum_n set_v and_o tax_v within_o the_o place_n to_o they_o limit_v for_o the_o say_a subsidy_n and_o other_o fine_n amerciament_n penalty_n and_o forfeiture_n with_o the_o name_n of_o the_o barony_n cantred_n hundred_o tything_n and_o other_o place_n to_o they_o assign_v or_o else_o by_o their_o say_a writing_n indent_v to_o certify_v at_o the_o same_o place_n before_o the_o same_o day_n of_o payment_n such_o reasonable_a cause_n for_o their_o excuse_n why_o they_o may_v not_o make_v such_o certificate_n of_o and_o for_o the_o say_a subsidy_n fine_n amerciament_n and_o other_o cause_n grow_v or_o set_v by_o reason_n of_o the_o cause_n of_o their_o let_n or_o of_o their_o not_o certify_v as_o be_v aforesaid_a or_o else_o in_o default_n thereof_o process_n to_o be_v make_v out_o of_o the_o king_n majesty_n say_v exchequer_n against_o the_o say_a commissioner_n and_o every_o of_o they_o not_o make_v certificate_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a by_o the_o discretion_n of_o the_o treasurer_n and_o baruns_n of_o the_o say_a exchequer_n provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o further_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o all_o and_o every_o person_n and_o person_n have_v manor_n land_n tenement_n and_o other_o hereditament_n chargeable_a to_o the_o payment_n of_o the_o say_a subsidy_n grant_v to_o the_o king_n majesty_n by_o this_o act_n and_o also_o have_v spiritual_a possession_n chargeable_a to_o his_o say_a majesty_n by_o the_o grant_v make_v by_o the_o clergy_n of_o this_o realm_n in_o their_o convocation_n and_o over_o this_o have_a substance_n in_o good_n and_o chattel_n chargeable_a by_o this_o say_a act_n that_o then_o if_o any_o of_o the_o say_a person_n or_o person_n be_v hereafter_o charge_v or_o assess_v and_o tax_v for_o the_o say_a manor_n land_n and_o tenement_n and_o spiritual_a possession_n and_o also_o assess_v charge_v and_o tax_v for_o his_o and_o their_o good_n and_o chattel_n that_o then_o he_o or_o they_o shall_v be_v only_o charge_v by_o virtue_n of_o this_o act_n for_o his_o and_o their_o say_a manor_n land_n tenement_n hereditament_n and_o spiritual_a possession_n or_o ene_o for_o his_o say_a good_n and_o chattel_n the_o best_a thereof_o to_o be_v take_v for_o the_o king_n majesty_n and_o not_o to_o be_v charge_v for_o both_o or_o double_o charge_v for_o any_o of_o they_o any_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n contain_v to_o the_o contrary_a in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o provide_v always_o that_o this_o grant_v of_o subsidy_n or_o any_o thing_n therein_o contain_v in_o any_o wise_a extend_v not_o to_o charge_v the_o provost_n fellow_n and_o scholar_n of_o the_o college_n of_o the_o holy_a trinity_n near_o dublin_n nor_o any_o manor_n land_n tenement_n or_o other_o possession_n good_n chattel_n or_o other_o movable_a substance_n which_o the_o say_a provost_n fellow_n &_o scholar_n or_o any_o other_o to_o their_o use_n have_v within_o this_o realm_n of_o ireland_n any_o thing_n in_o this_o present_a act_n to_o the_o contrary_a in_o any_o wise_n notwithstanding_o provide_v always_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o no_o orphan_n or_o infant_n within_o the_o age_n of_o twenty_o and_o one_o year_n bear_v within_o any_o the_o king_n majesty_n dominion_n shall_v be_v charge_v to_o any_o payment_n of_o this_o subsidy_n for_o he_o or_o her_o good_n and_o chattel_n to_o he_o or_o her_o left_a or_o bequeath_v any_o thing_n in_o this_o act_n contain_v to_o the_o contrary_a notwithstanding_o provide_v nevertheless_o and_o be_v it_o enact_v by_o the_o authority_n aforesaid_a that_o if_o any_o alien_a or_o stranger_n bear_v denizen_n or_o not_o denizen_n and_o dwell_v or_o inhabit_v within_o this_o realm_n of_o ireland_n shall_v assign_v or_o convey_v over_o unto_o any_o he_o or_o their_o child_n or_o child_n bear_v within_o this_o say_a realm_n of_o ireland_n any_o his_n or_o their_o land_n tenement_n good_n and_o chattel_n to_o the_o intent_n thereby_o to_o defraud_v the_o king_n majesty_n of_o his_o say_a subsidy_n of_o or_o for_o the_o same_o that_o then_o all_o and_o every_o such_o child_n or_o child_n so_o be_v seize_v of_o any_o such_o land_n and_o tenement_n or_o possess_v of_o any_o such_o good_n or_o chattel_n
