that_o he_o have_v give_v we_o according_a to_o the_o scripture_n and_o not_o contrary_a to_o it_o for_o the_o spirit_n be_v infallible_a which_o give_v forth_o the_o scripture_n but_o the_o scripture_n be_v changeable_a in_o translation_n and_o interpretation_n as_o we_o see_v by_o experience_n and_o therefore_o not_o infallible_a and_o though_o j._n w._n say_v first_o the_o scripture_n do_v make_v mention_n of_o all_o work_n of_o righteousness_n which_o ought_v to_o be_v observe_v by_o the_o son_n of_o man_n second_o and_o the_o scripture_n do_v most_o severe_o forbid_v all_o work_n of_o wickedness_n which_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v do_v three_o and_o the_o scripture_n declare_v of_o the_o promise_n of_o peace_n and_o happiness_n which_o ought_v to_o be_v embrace_v four_o and_o the_o scripture_n speak_v of_o the_o punishment_n which_o god_n will_v inflict_v upon_o sinner_n those_o be_v four_o of_o his_o reason_n page_n 216._o by_o which_o he_o will_v prove_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v the_o infallible_a teacher_n of_o salvation_n answer_v though_o it_o be_v true_a that_o the_o scripture_n do_v declare_v of_o every_o work_n of_o righteousness_n which_o ought_v teach_v and_o lead_v into_o these_o thing_n that_o the_o scripture_n speak_v of_o and_o it_o be_v that_o spirit_n that_o be_v the_o infallible_a teacher_n and_o the_o scripture_n be_v only_o a_o declaration_n of_o the_o thing_n which_o the_o spirit_n be_v infallible_o to_o teach_v and_o as_o for_o thy_o four_o reason_n though_o general_o the_o punishment_n of_o sinner_n be_v declare_v in_o scripture_n yet_o it_o be_v a_o easy_a thing_n to_o mention_v particular_a punishment_n for_o particular_a people_n upon_o particular_a occasion_n which_o the_o scripture_n do_v not_o make_v mention_n of_o for_o i_o be_o of_o that_o mind_n that_o some_o of_o his_o fraternity_n be_v at_o this_o day_n under_o a_o punishment_n for_o their_o sin_n which_o the_o scripture_n make_v no_o particular_a mention_n of_o and_o if_o he_o scruple_n it_o in_o his_o next_o return_n j._n w._n shall_v have_v particular_a instance_n in_o our_o next_o reply_n so_o that_o this_o reason_n be_v partly_o true_a and_o partly_o false_a also_o deut._n 28.61_o it_o be_v signify_v that_o there_o be_v plague_n and_o punishment_n for_o sinner_n which_o be_v not_o mention_v in_o the_o book_n of_o the_o law_n and_o as_o for_o thy_o 5_o 6_o 7_o and_o 8_o reason_n to_o prove_v the_o scripture_n be_v a_o infallible_a teacher_n all_o of_o they_o be_v much_o like_o the_o former_a and_o the_o same_o answer_n in_o kind_n may_v be_v say_v as_o thus_o we_o acknowledge_v the_o scripture_n declare_v sufficient_o for_o truth_n and_o righteousness_n and_o against_o deceit_n and_o unrighteousness_n and_o of_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n and_o threaten_n for_o sin_n etc._n etc._n yet_o still_o this_o prove_v not_o the_o scripture_n in_o themselves_o infallable_n to_o teach_v infallible_o but_o as_o i_o have_v say_v it_o be_v only_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n that_o be_v the_o infallable_n teacher_n into_o all_o that_o truth_n which_o the_o scripture_n declare_v of_o and_o by_o the_o spirit_n man_n receive_v power_n to_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o to_o do_v his_o will_n and_o not_o by_o the_o scripture_n and_o thus_o we_o give_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n its_o prerogative_n and_o privilege_n and_o the_o scripture_n also_o what_o belong_v to_o they_o but_o we_o dare_v not_o give_v that_o dignity_n to_o the_o scripture_n which_o belong_v to_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n thereby_o abridge_n the_o spirit_n of_o god_n of_o what_o belong_v to_o it_o and_o set_v up_o the_o scripture_n in_o opposition_n to_o it_o as_o j._n w._n have_v clear_o do_v for_o want_n of_o knowledge_n and_o understanding_n in_o the_o mystery_n of_o god_n again_o he_o say_v the_o scripture_n be_v very_o far_o in_o authority_n and_o clearness_n before_o any_o spirit_n or_o light_n in_o any_o mortal_a man_n in_o the_o world_n page_n 218._o whereby_o he_o have_v clear_o give_v more_o dignity_n and_o authority_n to_o the_o scripture_n than_o he_o have_v to_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o so_o have_v set_v up_o which_o be_v as_o a_o light_n which_o shine_v in_o a_o dark_a place_n &_o the_o commandment_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v pure_a and_o the_o word_n be_v a_o lamp_n unto_o the_o foot_n then_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o powerful_a operation_n of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o scripture_n upon_o the_o heart_n of_o such_o as_o believe_v
