If any widow have children or nephews let them learn first to shew pity or kindness at home to requite their Parents for that is good and acceptable before God c. Making mention of you in my prayers That the God of our Lord Jesus c. may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him the eyes of your understanding being enlightned that ye may know what is the hope of his calling c. If in any thing ye be otherwise minded God shall reveal even this unto you Phil. 3 15. Let us prophesie according to the proportion of faith Rom. 12. 3 6. Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that ye may abound in hope through the power of the holy Ghost c. I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me to make the Gentiles obedient by word c. Rom. 15. 13 18. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus 1 Cor. 1. 30. My preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom c. that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God 1 Cor. 2 4 3. I have planted c. but God gave the increase c. But God who giveth the increase 1 Cor. 3. 6 7. That ye may know c. what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe according to the working of his mighty power which he wrought in Christ when he raised him from the dead Ephes 1. 18 19 20. Ye are saved through faith and that not of your selves it is the gift of God Ephes 2. 8. That he would grant c. that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith Ephes 3. 16 17. Unto you it is given on the behalf of Christ not only to believe on him c. Phil. 1. 29. Through the faith of the operation of God c. Col. 2. 12. We pray c. that our God would c. fulfil the work of faith with power 2 Thess 1. 11. Looking unto Jesus the author or beginner and finisher of our faith Heb. 12. 2. To make them Fruitful or Enable them to subdue Sin profit in Grace and Activity for God THen rose up the chief of the fathers c. whose spirit God had raised

The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the holy Ghost c. Rom. 5. 5. If the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwell in you he who raised up the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit which dwelleth in you c. The things of God knoweth no man but the spirit of God Now we have received c. the spirit of God that we might know the things which are freely given unto us of God 1 Cor. 2. 9 10 11 12. Such were some of you but ye are washed but ye are sanctified c. and by the spirit of our God 1 Cor. 6. 11. Titus 3. 5. No man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the holy Ghost Now there are diversity of gifts but the same spirit c. The manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit withal For to one is given by the spirit the word of wisdom c. But all these worketh that one and the self same spirit dividing to every man severally as he will c. By one spirit we are all baptized into one body 1 Cor. 12. 3 4 7 8 9 10 11 13. We c. beholding c. the glory of the Lord are changed into the same image c. by the spirit of the Lord 2 Cor. 3. 17 18. We through the spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith Gal. 5. 5 22 Through him we both have an access by one spirit unto the father Ephes 2. 18. The mystery of Christ which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men as now it is revealed c. by the spirit c. Greater is he that is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4. 1 2 3 4. It is the spirit who beareth witness because the spirit is truth c. In following after him and making use of him THE manifestation of the spirit is given to â—â—ry man to profit withal 1 Cor. 12. 7. The same anointing teacheth you of all things 1 John 2. 27. And the Lord said My spirit shall not always strive with man Gen. 6. 3. The true worshippers shall worship the father in spirit and in truth for the father seeketh such to worship him God is a spirit and they who worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth John 4. 23 24. Fervent in the spirit serving the Lord Rom. 12. 11. The manifestation of the spirit is given to every man to profit withal 1 Cor. 12. 7. I will pray with the spirit c. I will sing with the spirit c. 1 Cor. 14. 15. Walk ye not in the same spirit 2 Cor. 12. 18. Are ye so foolish having begun in the spirit are ye now made perfect by the flesh Gal. 3. 3. Walk in the spirit and ye shall not fulfil the lusts of the flesh c. If ye be led by the spirit ye are not under the law c. Whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth c. for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not but if ye be without chastisements whereof all are partakers then are ye bastards and not sons Heb. 12. 6 7 8. Think it not strange concerning the fiery trial c. as though some strange thing happened to you but rejoyce in as much as ye are made partakers of Christ's sufferings judgment must begin at the house of God 1 Pet. 4. 12 13 17. The devil c. whom resist c. that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren 1 Pet. 5. 8 9. Behold the devil shall cast some of you in prison that ye may be tried and ye shall have tribulation ten days Rev. 2. 10. As many as I love I rebuke and chasten Be zealous therefore c. Rev. 3. 19. These are they who came out of great tribulation and have washed c. Rev. 7. 14. Secondly That the Saints have been so exercised with Afflictions in Soul and Body from God and in their Bodies and outward Concerns from Men by Persecutions 1. From God more immediately Prov. 18. 14. JAcob sorely afflicted in Joseph and other of his sons Gen. 37. ch 34. The Almighty hath dealt very bitterly with me I went forth full and the Lord hath brought me home again empty c. Ruth 1. 20 21. Job greatly afflicted in his out-things and his body Job 1. 13 to the end ch 2. 5 6 7 8. ch 7. 3 4 5 c. ch 9. 27 28 c. O that my grief were thoroughly weighed c. for now it would be heavier than the sand of the sea therefore my words are swallowed up or I want words to express my grief for the arrows of the Almighty are within me the poison thereof drinketh up my spirit the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me Job 6. 1 2 3 4. ch 13. 24 26. ch 19. ch 30. falie teachers among you who privily shall bring in damnable heresies even denying the Lord who bought them and bring upon themselves swift destruction and many shall follow their pernicious ways by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of and through covetousness shall they with seigned words make merchandise of you whose judgment now of a long time lingreth not c. Chiefly them who walk after the flesh c. and despise government or dominions presumptuous self-willed they are not afraid to speak evil of digninities c. These are as natural brute beasts c. speak evil of the things they understand not c. sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you having eyes full of adultery who cannot cease from sin beguiling unstable souls an heart which is exercised with covetous practices c. who have forsaken the right way and are gone astray c. These are wells without water clouds which are carried with a tempest to whom the midst of darkness is reserved for ever for when they speak great swelling words of vanity they allure through the lusts of the flesh c. those who were clean escaped from them who live in errour while they promise them c. 2 Pet. 2. 1 2 3 10 11 12 13 14 15 17 18 19. There shall come in the last days scossers walking after their own lusts and saying Where is the promise of his coming for since the fathers fell asleep all things continue as they were from the beginning c. Some things are hard to be understood which they who are unlearned and unstable wrest as they do also the other scriptures to their own destruction Ye therefore beloved seeing ye know before beware lest ye also being led away with the errour of the wicked fall from your own stedfastness 2 Pet. 3. 3 4 15 16 17. Little children it is the last time and as ye have heard Antichrist shall come even now are there many Antichrists whereby we know that it is the last time They went out from us but they were not of us c. Who is a lyar but he who denieth that Jesus is the Christ He is Antichrist who denieth the Father and the Son c. These things have I written unto you concerning them who deceive you 1 John 2. 18 19 22 26. Believe not every spirit but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are gone out into the world Hereby know ye the spirit of God every spirit who confesseth Jesus Christ to have been come in the flesh is of God and every spirit who confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God and this is that spirit of Antichrist whereof you have heard that it should come and even now already it is in the world c. Ye are of God and have overcome them because greater is he who is in you than he in the world They are of the world therefore speak they of the world and the world heareâ—â— them c. He who is of God heareth us he who is not of God heareth not us Hereby know we the spirit of truth and the spirit of erâ—our c. 1 John 4. 1 to 7. Many deceivers are entred into the world who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh this is a deceiver and an Antichrist look to your selves that we lose not those things which we wrought c. Whosoever transgresseth and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ hath not God c. If there come any to you and bring not this doctrine receive him not into your house neither bid him God-speed for he who bids him God-speed is partaker of his evil deeds 2 John vers 7 to 12. Earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints for there are certain men crept in unawares who were before of old ordained to this condemnation ungodly men turning the grace of God into lasciviousness and denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ c. These filthy dreamers defile the flesh despise dominions and speak evil of dignities yet Michael c. contending with the devil c. durst not bring against him a railing accusation c. These speak evil of those things which they know not c. Clouds they are without water c. These are murmurers complainers walking after their own lusts and their mouth speaketh great swelling words having men's persons in admiration because of advantage c. These be they who separate themselves sensual having not the spirit Jude vers 3. 4 8 9 10 12 13 16 18 19. I know the blasphemy of them who say they are Jews and are not but are the synagogue of Satan c. hold the doctrine of Balaam c. So the doctrine of the Nicolaitans c. Thou sufferest that woman Jezebel who c. to teach and seduce my servants c. Rev. 2. 9 14 15 20. chap. 3. 9. All who dwell on earth whose names are not written in the book of life c. worshipped the beast c. And he had power c. That the image of the beast should both speak and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed and causeth all both small and great rich and poor free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads and that no man might buy or sell save he who had the mark or the name of the beast or the number of his name Rev. 13. 15 16 17. Unclean spirits out of the mouth of the dragon beast and false prophet the spirit of devils working miracles Rev. 16. 13 14. XXXI Of Consideration Meditation Pondering upon and serious Weighing of the things of God his Word and Works our selves c.
