find_v joh._n 7.22_o the_o reason_n of_o this_o rule_n be_v nothing_o but_o what_o the_o common_a light_n of_o reason_n sugge_v viz._n that_o in_o all_o competition_n between_o two_o thing_n of_o unequal_a worth_n and_o goodness_n where_o both_o can_v be_v choose_v or_o embrace_v the_o more_o worthy_a and_o weighty_a in_o goodness_n aught_o to_o have_v the_o pre-eminence_n by_o the_o light_n of_o this_o rule_n evident_a it_o be_v that_o the_o commandment_n of_o the_o first_o table_n which_o respect_v the_o glory_n and_o interest_n of_o god_n be_v to_o be_v prefer_v in_o obedience_n before_o those_o of_o the_o second_o which_o concern_v the_o interest_n of_o the_o creature_n when_o both_o can_v be_v obey_v as_o when_o we_o can_v but_o either_o betray_v or_o deny_v some_o truth_n of_o god_n which_o he_o have_v make_v know_v to_o we_o and_o so_o sin_n against_o a_o great_a duty_n of_o the_o first_o table_n or_o else_o disobey_v the_o magistrate_n father_n mother_n etc._n etc._n and_o so_o expose_v ourselves_o to_o the_o loss_n of_o our_o great_a comfort_n in_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n yea_o it_o may_v be_v of_o life_n itself_o which_o be_v all_o contrary_a to_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o great_a duty_n of_o the_o second_o table_n in_o ordinary_a case_n in_o this_o case_n we_o must_v obey_v the_o charge_n of_o the_o first_o table_n and_o stand_v by_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n with_o our_o testimony_n and_o disobey_v superior_n whatsoever_o be_v the_o consequence_n of_o it_o it_o be_v true_a and_o the_o instance_n late_o mention_v do_v confirm_v it_o that_o the_o great_a duty_n of_o the_o second_o table_n be_v by_o god_n gracious_a permission_n and_o allowance_n to_o take_v place_n of_o the_o letter_n duty_n of_o the_o first_o table_n when_o there_o happen_v a_o competition_n between_o they_o but_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o same_o degree_n in_o both_o table_n be_v compare_v those_o of_o the_o first_o be_v the_o more_o important_a aught_o to_o have_v the_o pre-eminence_n in_o competition_n quest_n 32._o what_o be_v the_o sixteenth_o rule_n answ_n affirmative_a command_n be_v always_o bind_v but_o not_o bind_v to_o be_v always_o practise_v or_o actual_o do_v what_o they_o command_v but_o only_o at_o time_n convenient_a and_o upon_o regular_a and_o due_a occasion_n they_o be_v indeed_o bind_v always_o to_o maintain_v the_o habit_n of_o those_o virtuous_a and_o worthy_a action_n which_o they_o enjoin_v or_o a_o inward_a disposition_n or_o readiness_n of_o mind_n to_o be_v do_v the_o thing_n require_v in_o they_o upon_o all_o occasion_n thus_o when_o and_o where_o i_o be_o command_v to_o call_v upon_o god_n to_o meditate_v of_o his_o work_n to_o reverence_v his_o word_n etc._n etc._n i_o be_o not_o command_v to_o be_v always_o employ_v in_o the_o actual_a exercise_n of_o these_o or_o any_o of_o these_o duty_n but_o only_o to_o be_v always_o prepare_v and_o ready_a for_o the_o performance_n of_o they_o respective_o upon_o all_o opportunity_n and_o when_o opportunity_n serve_v to_o perform_v they_o actual_o there_o be_v the_o same_o consideration_n of_o all_o affirmative_a precept_n in_o matter_n appertain_v to_o the_o second_o table_n the_o reason_n of_o this_o rule_n be_v because_o it_o be_v meet_v that_o every_o virtuous_a and_o worthy_a action_n '_o as_o well_o one_o as_o another_o shall_v
