this_o argument_n at_o large_a that_o nothing_o be_v warrantable_a but_o what_o be_v express_o command_v section_n 1._o i_o shall_v proceed_v to_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o three_o great_a instance_n present_v by_o mr._n nicholls_n in_o the_o behalf_n of_o the_o nonconformist_n of_o his_o time_n why_o they_o can_v not_o subscribe_v because_o that_o in_o the_o book_n of_o order_n there_o be_v a_o office_n of_o ministry_n call_v the_o deacon_n who_o description_n be_v not_o be_v find_v in_o god_n book_n pag._n 27._o and_o that_o he_o may_v preach_v and_o baptise_v and_o not_o be_v of_o the_o order_n of_o priesthood_n as_o they_o call_v it_o we_o therefore_o think_v that_o in_o subscribe_v hereunto_o we_o shall_v offend_v the_o holy_a canon_n of_o scripture_n and_o allow_v that_o which_o be_v contrary_a to_o the_o same_o book_n by_o our_o subscription_n now_o for_o the_o remove_n of_o this_o scruple_n which_o remain_v in_o the_o mind_n of_o many_o i_o fear_v at_o this_o day_n and_o that_o very_a much_o increase_v since_o his_o time_n i_o shall_v make_v bold_a to_o weigh_v this_o general_a argument_n here_o bring_v against_o subscription_n viz._n that_o the_o deacon_n who_o we_o be_v to_o allow_v of_o according_a to_o the_o book_n of_o order_n his_o description_n be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v in_o the_o book_n of_o god_n therefore_o to_o subscribe_v be_v a_o sin_n sect._n 2._o now_o though_o it_o be_v a_o truth_n in_o general_a yet_o no_o general_a truth_n that_o to_o do_v or_o to_o allow_v of_o that_o which_o have_v no_o description_n or_o prescription_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o be_v without_o a_o command_n from_o god_n be_v a_o sin_n which_o be_v as_o you_o may_v observe_v mr._n nicholls_n argument_n against_o deacon_n yet_o this_o truth_n take_v without_o the_o distinction_n of_o mr._n ball_v before_o quote_v of_o matter_n substantial_a and_o circumstantial_a not_o only_o of_o worship_n but_o of_o our_o humane_a converse_n nay_o in_o the_o very_a function_n of_o the_o ministry_n as_o you_o shall_v find_v from_o mr._n john_n ball_n when_o i_o come_v to_o speak_v of_o the_o deacon_n in_o particular_a be_v not_o to_o be_v approve_v of_o the_o argument_n draw_v from_o it_o be_v of_o dangerous_a consequence_n sect._n 3_o now_o observe_v this_o argument_n general_o propound_v that_o i_o do_v not_o find_v this_o or_o that_o particular_a command_n by_o god_n in_o his_o word_n be_v a_o principal_a pillar_n of_o nonconformity_n in_o bishop_n hoopers_n time_n and_o in_o mr._n nicholls_n time_n and_o probable_o begin_v the_o trouble_n at_o frankfort_n be_v also_o the_o anabaptist_n great_a argument_n against_o baptise_v infant_n and_o the_o original_n of_o the_o quaker_n sad_a delusion_n that_o will_v therefore_o wear_v no_o lace_n or_o hatband_n etc._n etc._n because_o not_o command_v in_o the_o word_n and_o be_v
