matter_n of_o faith_n and_o those_o which_o concern_v our_o salvation_n chap._n vi_o because_o our_o adversary_n know_v very_o well_o that_o they_o can_v not_o defend_v neither_o by_o the_o holy_a scripture_n nor_o by_o the_o example_n of_o the_o primitive_a church_n the_o false_a doctrine_n which_o bear_v sway_n amongst_o they_o in_o the_o most_o principal_a point_n of_o christian_a religion_n if_o a_o man_n shall_v examine_v they_o by_o piecemeal_o therefore_o they_o have_v think_v good_a to_o defend_v all_o at_o once_o to_o wit_n to_o maintain_v that_o the_o church_n can_v not_o err_v especial_o in_o matter_n that_o do_v concern_v salvation_n for_o say_v they_o see_v that_o christ_n be_v the_o head_n of_o the_o church_n he_o guide_v the_o same_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o this_o spirit_n be_v the_o spirit_n of_o understanding_n which_o inspire_v into_o she_o in_o time_n and_o place_n all_o that_o be_v necessary_a for_o to_o lead_v she_o in_o such_o sort_n that_o she_o can_v not_o err_v but_o as_o they_o defend_v this_o bulwark_n assure_v themselves_o to_o defend_v all_o their_o babylon_n so_o be_v it_o also_o as_o certain_a that_o this_o be_v once_o win_v they_o can_v not_o any_o long_o stand_v when_o they_o speak_v of_o the_o church_n in_o this_o matter_n 2._o they_o understand_v proper_o the_o clergy_n represent_v by_o a_o general_a council_n and_o not_o the_o common_a people_n of_o who_o they_o make_v no_o state_n the_o which_o thing_n many_o of_o themselves_o condemn_v as_o repugnant_a to_o holy_a scripture_n notwithstanding_o i_o be_o content_a in_o this_o matter_n to_o speak_v after_o their_o manner_n to_o the_o end_n to_o avoid_v all_o cavil_n and_o start_a hole_n together_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o head_n of_o the_o church_n as_o of_o one_o body_n not_o of_o that_o there_o nor_o of_o this_o here_o neither_o of_o one_o nor_o of_o other_o but_o of_o all_o church_n alike_o now_o this_o head_n be_v unto_o the_o church_n as_o reason_n unto_o take_v his_o authority_n from_o it_o now_o god_n and_o his_o law_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o church_n be_v far_o great_a than_o these_o for_o there_o can_v be_v no_o proportion_n of_o that_o which_o be_v infinite_a to_o that_o which_o be_v finite_a and_o therefore_o be_v it_o any_o wonder_n if_o he_o have_v take_v from_o the_o prelate_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n the_o gift_n of_o his_o spirit_n when_o they_o will_v give_v authority_n to_o their_o vain_a tradition_n above_o the_o law_n itself_o and_o that_o under_o the_o shadow_n of_o his_o spirit_n we_o say_v that_o the_o spirit_n and_o the_o word_n be_v inseparable_o join_v and_o knit_v together_o and_o that_o without_o great_a sacrilege_n they_o can_v be_v separate_v forasmuch_o as_o jesus_n christ_n who_o be_v the_o word_n itself_o have_v so_o teach_v we_o when_o that_o same_o comforter_n shall_v come_v 14.26_o that_o same_o spirit_n i_o mean_v of_o truth_n he_o shall_v lead_v you_o say_v he_o into_o all_o truth_n for_o
