he_o that_o swear_v call_v god_n to_o be_v a_o witness_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o what_o he_o say_v in_o assertory_n oath_n and_o of_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o intention_n to_o perform_v what_o he_o say_v in_o promissory_a oath_n but_o also_o that_o he_o call_v god_n to_o witness_v that_o he_o speak_v truth_n by_o his_o help_n or_o god_n help_v he_o to_o speak_v truth_n in_o assertory_n oath_n and_o that_o his_o intention_n be_v to_o perform_v what_o he_o promise_v by_o god_n help_n or_o assistance_n so_o that_o according_a to_o this_o man_n conceit_n it_o be_v no_o swear_v unless_o the_o person_n swear_v do_v call_v god_n to_o be_v witness_n not_o only_o of_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o word_n and_o intention_n but_o also_o of_o his_o acknowledge_v of_o god_n help_n in_o speak_v truth_n in_o assertory_n oath_n and_o his_o expectation_n of_o god_n help_v to_o perform_v what_o he_o say_v he_o will_v do_v in_o promissory_a which_o be_v a_o new_a and_o wild_a conceit_n new_a for_o none_o as_o far_o as_o i_o know_v ever_o vent_v it_o before_o but_o all_o writer_n that_o i_o have_v meet_v with_o have_v make_v the_o call_n of_o god_n to_o witness_v the_o truth_n of_o our_o speech_n in_o assertory_n oath_n and_o of_o our_o intention_n to_o perform_v what_o we_o say_v in_o promissory_a without_o this_o addition_n of_o acknowledge_v that_o it_o be_v by_o god_n help_n we_o speak_v truth_n or_o of_o expectation_n of_o help_n from_o god_n to_o do_v what_o we_o promise_v to_o be_v swear_v and_o it_o be_v a_o wild_a conceit_n for_o 1._o it_o be_v frivolous_a to_o call_v god_n to_o witness_v that_o he_o speak_v truth_n by_o his_o help_n or_o that_o he_o expect_v his_o help_n to_o do_v what_o he_o promise_v it_o be_v impertinent_a to_o the_o occasion_n and_o end_n of_o swear_v the_o occasion_n of_o swear_v be_v some_o uncertainty_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o word_n and_o intention_n and_o the_o end_n to_o take_v away_o that_o there_o be_v no_o question_n or_o controversy_n to_o be_v decide_v by_o who_o help_n he_o speak_v truth_n nor_o by_o who_o help_n he_o expect_v to_o perform_v what_o he_o promise_v every_o man_n know_v that_o what_o be_v speak_v or_o do_v be_v by_o god_n help_n else_o it_o can_v not_o be_v but_o whether_o it_o be_v certain_o true_a which_o he_o affirm_v and_o his_o intention_n true_a and_o real_a to_o perform_v the_o consideration_n by_o who_o help_n he_o speak_v or_o expect_v to_o do_v what_o he_o promise_v be_v not_o at_o all_o require_v or_o mind_v by_o the_o exactor_n of_o the_o oath_n as_o belong_v to_o the_o oath_n but_o the_o acknowledge_v that_o he_o speak_v truth_n by_o god_n help_n be_v only_o a_o duty_n of_o thankfulness_n which_o be_v fit_a to_o be_v do_v by_o the_o person_n swear_v after_o the_o depend_v on_o god_n help_n for_o performance_n of_o what_o he_o promise_v and_o all_o infidel_n hypocrite_n saint_n that_o neglect_v their_o duty_n herein_o let_v their_o word_n or_o intention_n be_v never_o so_o true_a and_o their_o performance_n never_o so_o punctual_a and_o exact_a shall_v be_v perjure_v or_o unsworn_a that_o which_o he_o allege_v for_o this_o conceit_n be_v frivolous_a for_o the_o unlawfulness_n of_o swear_v by_o any_o creature_n be_v not_o because_o no_o creature_n can_v help_v he_o that_o swear_v to_o speak_v the_o truth_n or_o perform_v what_o he_o promise_v he_o that_o inform_v he_o of_o the_o truth_n may_v help_v the_o swearer_n to_o speak_v truth_n though_o he_o be_v a_o creature_n and_o he_o that_o will_v aid_v he_o with_o money_n etc._n etc._n may_v help_v he_o to_o perform_v what_o he_o promise_v but_o because_o god_n only_o be_v a_o witness_n of_o secret_a truth_n and_o sincerity_n of_o intention_n and_o can_v only_o be_v his_o judge_n and_o avenger_n if_o he_o speak_v not_o truth_n and_o therefore_o more_o full_o oath_n be_v express_v in_o such_o form_n as_o these_o god_n be_v my_o judge_n witness_n helper_n etc._n etc._n nor_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o god_n take_v it_o ill_a that_o man_n swear_v false_o by_o his_o name_n because_o it_o be_v as_o much_o as_o to_o say_v that_o god_n do_v help_v they_o to_o speak_v a_o lie_n for_o then_o in_o promissory_a oath_n when_o they_o swearby_o god_n he_o shall_v take_v it_o ill_a if_o they_o do_v not_o perform_v their_o promise_n because_o it_o be_v as_o much_o as_o to_o say_v that_o
