believer_n nor_o seal_v by_o the_o holy_a spirit_n heb._n 6._o 4_o 5._o a_o startle_a word_n they_o be_v once_o enlighten_v taste_v of_o the_o heavenly_a gift_n be_v make_v partaker_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o taste_v of_o the_o good_a word_n of_o god_n and_o the_o power_n of_o the_o world_n to_o come_v if_o these_o fall_v a_o way_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o recover_v they_o again_o be_v seal_v by_o the_o spirit_n more_o or_o less_o before_o they_o die_v and_o go_v out_o of_o the_o world_n three_o and_o last_o consider_v that_o though_o god_n do_v not_o now_o seal_v by_o his_o spirit_n in_o a_o extraordinary_a and_o immediate_a way_n by_o revelation_n etc._n etc._n yet_o most_o christian_n in_o the_o ordinary_a way_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v seal_v god_n meet_v with_o they_o in_o one_o duty_n or_o another_o in_o one_o sacred_a ordinance_n or_o another_o either_o in_o prayer_n reading_n hear_v or_o in_o receive_v of_o the_o lord_n supper_n this_o god_n have_v promise_v and_o believer_n may_v expect_v for_o god_n be_v faithful_a who_o have_v promise_v i_o shall_v conclude_v with_o these_o two_o scripture_n isa_n 32._o 17._o and_o the_o work_n of_o our_o request_n know_v to_o god_n phil._n 4._o 5_o 6._o but_o second_o consider_v when_o believer_n pray_v for_o pardon_n of_o sin_n it_o be_v for_o a_o clear_a evidence_n of_o what_o they_o have_v already_o in_o christ_n to_o be_v pardon_v and_o justify_v through_o christ_n and_o so_o secure_v for_o heaven_n be_v one_o thing_n and_o to_o know_v it_o be_v another_o person_n may_v be_v in_o christ_n and_o pardon_v and_o so_o in_o a_o sure_a state_n for_o glory_n and_o yet_o may_v be_v in_o the_o dark_a about_o it_o and_o not_o know_v whether_o they_o be_v so_o or_o no._n now_o it_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o these_o to_o seek_v after_o a_o clear_a knowledge_n of_o their_o state_n in_o christ_n and_o the_o pardon_n of_o their_o sin_n through_o his_o blood_n when_o believer_n pray_v for_o pardon_n it_o be_v not_o because_o their_o pardon_n be_v not_o sure_a in_o christ_n but_o it_o be_v that_o they_o may_v get_v a_o clear_a apprehension_n of_o it_o for_o their_o comfort_n three_o consider_v that_o prayer_n do_v not_o prejudice_v the_o stability_n or_o certainty_n of_o a_o thing_n our_o saviour_n himself_o pray_v for_o that_o which_o he_o be_v sure_a of_o john_n 17._o 9_o 10._o the_o covenant_n stand_v fast_o for_o ever_o and_o the_o promise_n of_o pardon_n and_o all_o good_a in_o it_o be_v most_o certain_a and_o shall_v he_o fulfil_v for_o god_n will_v not_o alter_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v go_v out_o of_o his_o mouth_n psal_n 89._o 27_o 33_o 34._o yet_o we_o must_v seek_v and_o pray_v and_o put_v god_n in_o remembrance_n of_o his_o promise_n as_o he_o bid_v we_o how_o it_o be_v perform_v in_o the_o soul_n second_o we_o have_v show_v you_o why_o none_o can_v be_v seal_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o promise_n till_o they_o believe_v in_o christ_n three_o whether_o all_o believer_n be_v seal_v by_o the_o spirit_n or_o no_o four_o what_o the_o great_a privilege_n of_o seal_a one_o be_v these_o thing_n we_o have_v open_v large_o now_o five_o we_o be_v upon_o the_o applicatory_a part_n of_o this_o discourse_n and_o we_o have_v already_o say_v something_o first_o by_o way_n of_o information_n or_o instruction_n in_o two_o thing_n which_o now_o i_o shall_v not_o repeat_v to_o you_o but_o through_o god_n assistance_n
