begin_v to_o speak_v your_o judgement_n of_o they_o answ_n the_o truth_n of_o god_n can_v be_v bear_v witness_n unto_o too_o often_o you_o may_v as_o well_o say_v you_o need_v not_o preach_v jesus_n christ_n so_o much_o see_v he_o have_v be_v and_o be_v receive_v for_o the_o true_a messiah_n already_o 2._o though_o many_o may_v suppose_v that_o they_o do_v believe_v the_o scripture_n yet_o if_o they_o be_v but_o well_o examine_v you_o will_v find_v they_o either_o by_o word_n of_o mouth_n or_o else_o by_o conversation_n to_o deny_v reject_v and_o slight_v the_o holy_a scripture_n it_o be_v i_o say_v and_o you_o shall_v find_v but_o a_o little_a if_o any_o of_o the_o faith_n of_o the_o operation_n of_o god_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o poor_a man_n to_o believe_v the_o scripture_n and_o thing_n contain_v in_o they_o it_o be_v true_a many_o yea_o most_o man_n believe_v the_o scripture_n as_o they_o believe_v a_o fable_n a_o story_n a_o tale_n of_o which_o there_o be_v no_o certainty_n but_o alas_o there_o be_v but_o few_o do_v intend_v and_o in_o truth_n believe_v the_o scripture_n to_o be_v the_o very_a word_n of_o god_n but_o you_o will_v say_v this_o seem_v strange_a to_o i_o answ_n and_o it_o seem_v as_o true_a to_o i_o and_o i_o doubt_v not_o but_o to_o make_v it_o manifest_a and_o plain_o to_o appear_v that_o there_o be_v but_o few_o yea_o very_o few_o that_o do_v effectual_o for_o that_o i_o aim_v at_o believe_v the_o scripture_n and_o the_o truth_n contain_v in_o and_o speak_v of_o by_o they_o but_o to_o make_v this_o appear_v and_o that_o to_o purpose_n if_o god_n will_v i_o shall_v lay_v you_o down_o the_o several_a operation_n that_o the_o scripture_n have_v on_o they_o who_o do_v effectual_o believe_v the_o thing_n contain_v in_o they_o 1._o he_o authority_n of_o they_o in_o their_o heart_n you_o err_v not_o know_v the_o scripture_n nor_o the_o power_n of_o god_n now_o this_o letter_n or_o law_n be_v not_o to_o be_v take_v in_o the_o large_a sense_n but_o be_v strict_o to_o be_v tie_v to_o the_o ten_o commandment_n who_o proper_a work_n be_v only_o by_o show_v the_o soul_n its_o sin_n against_o this_o law_n to_o kill_v and_o there_o to_o that_o also_o that_o be_v whether_o thou_o have_v feel_v the_o power_n of_o the_o gospel_n as_o well_o as_o something_o of_o the_o power_n of_o the_o law_n 2._o then_o if_o thou_o have_v find_v to_o the_o covenant_n of_o promise_n that_o be_v the_o gospel_n &_o so_o have_v no_o hope_n in_o they_o eph._n 2.12_o there_o be_v not_o any_o promise_n that_o can_v be_v save_o believe_v until_o the_o soul_n be_v by_o the_o gospel_n convert_v to_o jesus_n christ_n for_o though_o man_n do_v think_v never_o so_o much_o that_o they_o believe_v the_o thing_n of_o the_o gospel_n or_o the_o word_n believe_v it_o aright_o my_o word_n say_v christ_n my_o word_n they_o be_v spirit_n and_o they_o mark_n and_o they_o be_v life_n joh._n 6.63_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v the_o word_n contain_v in_o they_o be_v kill_v by_o the_o law_n for_o mark_v if_o thy_o comfort_n be_v indeed_o by_o the_o promise_n they_o come_v in_o upon_o thy_o heart_n to_o quicken_v to_o revive_v thou_o to_o raise_v thou_o of_o his_o loin_n be_v loose_v and_o his_o knee_n smite_v one_o against_o another_o and_o when_o paul_n tell_v felix_n of_o righteousness_n 24.25_o act_n 24.25_o temperance_n and_o judgement_n to_o job_n say_v their_o house_n be_v safe_a from_o fear_n 21.9_o job_n 21.9_o neither_o be_v the_o rod_n of_o god_n upon_o they_o which_o make_v they_o say_v to_o god_n depart_v from_o we_o for_o we_o and_o drink_v in_o thy_o presence_n and_o thou_o have_v teach_v in_o our_o street_n nay_o more_o in_o thy_o name_n have_v we_o cast_v out_o devil_n and_o in_o thy_o name_n do_v many_o wonderful_a further_o show_v by_o and_o by_o when_o i_o come_v to_o it_o some_o people_n be_v so_o delude_v by_o the_o devil_n as_o to_o think_v that_o god_n be_v so_o merciful_a as_o to_o own_o or_o regard_v any_o thing_n for_o prayer_n they_o think_v any_o thing_n will_v go_v for_o currant_n and_o good_a satisfaction_n while_o they_o be_v here_o in_o this_o world_n through_o ignorance_n of_o the_o true_a nature_n of_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n and_o the_o knowledge_n in_o what_o way_n god_n be_v satisfy_v for_o sinner_n now_o i_o say_v through_o ignorance_n they_o think_v that_o if_o they_o do_v but_o mutter_v over_o some_o form_n of_o prayer_n though_o they_o know_v not_o what_o they_o say_v nor_o what_o they_o request_v yet_o god_n be_v satisfy_v yea_o very_o well_o satisfy_v with_o their_o do_n when_o alas_o there_o be_v nothing_o less_o o_o friend_n i_o beseech_v you_o to_o look_v about_o you_o and_o seek_v in_o good_a earnest_n for_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n so_o to_o help_v you_o now_o to_o strive_v and_o pray_v and_o to_o enable_v you_o to_o lay_v hold_n of_o christ_n that_o your_o soul_n may_v be_v save_v lest_o the_o time_n come_v that_o though_o you_o cry_v and_o pray_v and_o wish_v also_o that_o you_o have_v lay_v hold_v on_o the_o lord_n jesus_n yet_o you_o must_v and_o shall_v be_v damn_v then_o again_o you_o may_v see_v that_o though_o god_n be_v willing_a to_o save_v sinner_n at_o some_o time_n yet_o this_o time_n do_v not_o always_o last_o no_o he_o that_o can_v find_v in_o his_o heart_n to_o turn_v his_o back_n upon_o jesus_n christ_n now_o shall_v have_v deprive_v of_o it_o ah_o friend_n time_n be_v precious_a a_o hour_n time_n to_o hear_v a_o sermon_n be_v precious_a i_o have_v sometime_o think_v thus_o with_o myself_o set_a the_o case_n the_o lord_n shall_v send_v two_o or_o three_o of_o his_o servant_n the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o hell_n among_o the_o damn_a with_o this_o commission_n go_v you_o to_o hell_n and_o preach_v my_o grace_n to_o those_o that_o be_v there_o let_v your_o sermon_n be_v a_o hour_n long_o and_o hold_v forth_o the_o merit_n of_o my_o son_n birth_n righteousness_n death_n resurrection_n ascension_n observe_v that_o mercy_n will_v be_v welcome_a when_o soul_n be_v under_o judgement_n now_o his_o soul_n be_v in_o the_o fire_n now_o he_o be_v under_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n now_o he_o be_v in_o hell_n there_o to_o be_v torment_v now_o he_o be_v with_o the_o devil_n and_o damn_a spirit_n now_o he_o feel_v the_o vengeance_n of_o god_n now_o oh_o now_o have_v mercy_n on_o i_o here_o you_o may_v that_o i_o gather_v from_o these_o word_n remember_v that_o in_o thy_o life_n time_n thou_o have_v thy_o good_a thing_n you_o may_v take_v these_o word_n good_a thing_n either_o simple_o for_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n which_o in_o themselves_o be_v call_v and_o may_v be_v call_v good_a thing_n or_o else_o with_o these_o word_n namely_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n all_o the_o pleasure_n delight_n profit_n and_o vanity_n which_o the_o ignorant_a people_n of_o the_o world_n do_v count_v their_o good_a thing_n and_o do_v very_o much_o cheer_v themselves_o therewith_o soul_n soul_n eat_v drink_v and_o be_v merry_a for_o thou_o have_v much_o good_n lay_v up_o for_o many_o year_n luke_n 12.20_o now_o i_o say_v god_n according_a to_o his_o glorious_a power_n and_o wisdom_n will_v make_v poor_a creature_n have_v always_o in_o their_o mind_n a_o fresh_a and_o clear_a remembrance_n of_o their_o ill_n spend_v life_n he_o will_v say_v unto_o they_o remember_v remember_v their_o choice_n they_o will_v not_o have_v their_o sin_n and_o transgression_n so_o much_o in_o remembrance_n as_o be_v evident_a by_o their_o carriage_n here_o in_o this_o world_n for_o here_o they_o will_v not_o endure_v to_o entertain_v a_o serious_a thought_n of_o their_o filthy_a life_n but_o will_v labour_v by_o all_o mean_n to_o put_v the_o thought_n of_o it_o out_o of_o their_o mind_n but_o there_o they_o shall_v be_v make_v to_o remember_v to_o a_o purpose_n and_o to_o think_v continual_o of_o their_o ungodly_a deed_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v that_o when_o our_o lord_n jesus_n come_v to_o judgement_n it_o will_v be_v to_o convince_v the_o ungodly_a world_n of_o their_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a deed_n mark_v to_o convince_v they_o judas_n 14_o 15._o it_o be_v like_a they_o will_v not_o willing_o take_v notice_n of_o they_o but_o they_o shall_v be_v convince_v of_o they_o in_o spite_n of_o their_o tooth_n and_o also_o between_o this_o and_o they_o these_o that_o die_v out_o of_o christ_n shall_v be_v make_v to_o see_v acknowledge_v and_o confess_v do_v what_o they_o can_v when_o they_o lift_v up_o their_o eye_n in_o hell_n and_o to_o remember_v their_o transgression_n god_n will_v be_v a_o swift_a witness_n against_o they_o mat._n 3.5_o and_o will_v say_v remember_v what_o thou_o do_v in_o thy_o life_n time_n how_o thou_o do_v live_v in_o thy_o life_n time_n ha_o friend_n if_o thou_o do_v not_o in_o these_o day_n of_o light_n remember_v the_o day_n of_o darkness_n eccles_n 11.8_o the_o day_n of_o death_n hell_n and_o judgement_n thou_o shall_v be_v make_v in_o the_o day_n of_o darkness_n death_n hell_n and_o at_o the_o judgement_n too_o to_o remember_v the_o day_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o how_o thou_o do_v disregard_n they_o too_o to_o thy_o own_o destruction_n and_o everlasting_a misery_n remember_v that_o in_o thy_o life_n time_n thou_o have_v thy_o good_a thing_n the_o great_a god_n in_o stead_n of_o give_v the_o ungodly_a any_o ease_n will_v even_o aggravate_v their_o torment_n first_o by_o slight_v their_o perplexity_n second_o by_o tell_v of_o they_o what_o they_o must_v be_v think_v of_o remember_v say_v he_o o_o you_o lose_a soul_n that_o you_o have_v your_o joy_n in_o your_o life_n time_n your_o peace_n in_o your_o life_n time_n your_o comfort_n delight_n ease_n wealth_n health_n your_o heaven_n your_o happiness_n and_o your_o portion_n in_o your_o life_n time_n o_o miserable_a state_n thou_o will_v then_o be_v in_o a_o sad_a condition_n indeed_o when_o thou_o shall_v see_v that_o thou_o have_v have_v thy_o good_a thing_n thy_o best_a thing_n thy_o pleasant_a thing_n for_o that_o be_v clear_o signify_v by_o these_o word_n remember_v that_o thou_o in_o thy_o life_n time_n have_v thy_o good_a thing_n or_o all_o the_o good_a thing_n thou_o be_v like_a to_o have_v from_o whence_o take_v notice_n of_o another_o truth_n though_o it_o be_v a_o dreadful_a one_o to_o they_o that_o fall_v under_o the_o sentence_n of_o it_o which_o be_v this_o there_o be_v many_o poor_a creature_n who_o have_v all_o their_o good_a sweet_a and_o comfortable_a thing_n in_o this_o life_n or_o while_o they_o be_v alive_a in_o this_o world_n remember_v say_v he_o that_o in_o thy_o life_n time_n thou_o have_v thy_o good_a thing_n psal_n 17.14_o 2._o observe_v that_o the_o wicked_n good_a thing_n will_v short_o have_v a_o end_n they_o will_v last_v no_o long_o with_o they_o then_o this_o life_n or_o their_o life_n time_n that_o scripture_n be_v not_o write_v in_o vain_a it_o be_v like_o the_o crackle_n of_o thorn_n under_o a_o pot_n make_v a_o little_a blaze_n for_o a_o sudden_a a_o little_a heat_n for_o a_o while_n but_o come_v and_o consider_v they_o by_o and_o by_o and_o instead_o of_o a_o comfortable_a heat_n you_o will_v find_v nothing_o but_o a_o few_o dead_a ash_n and_o instead_o of_o a_o flame_a fire_n nothing_o but_o a_o smell_n of_o smoke_n 3._o again_o observe_v that_o there_o be_v a_o time_n come_v that_o the_o ungodly_a will_v be_v glad_a of_o a_o better_a portion_n when_o they_o shall_v see_v the_o vanity_n of_o this_o that_o be_v when_o they_o shall_v see_v what_o a_o poor_a thing_n it_o be_v for_o a_o man_n to_o have_v his_o portion_n in_o this_o world_n it_o be_v true_a while_o they_o be_v here_o on_o this_o side_n hell_n they_o think_v there_o be_v nothing_o to_o be_v compare_v with_o riches_n honour_n and_o pleasure_n in_o this_o world_n which_o make_v they_o cry_v out_o who_o will_v show_v we_o any_o good_a that_o be_v comparable_a to_o the_o pleasure_n profit_n and_o glory_n of_o this_o world_n but_o than_o they_o will_v see_v there_o be_v another_o thing_n that_o be_v better_a and_o of_o more_o value_n than_o ten_o thousand_o world_n and_o serious_o friend_n will_v it_o not_o grieve_v you_o trouble_n perplex_v and_o torment_v you_o when_o you_o shall_v see_v that_o you_o lose_v heaven_n for_o a_o little_a pleasure_n and_o profit_n in_o your_o life_n time_n certain_o it_o will_v grieve_v you_o and_o perplex_v you_o exceed_o to_o see_v what_o a_o bless_a heaven_n you_o leave_v for_o a_o dunghill_n world_n oh_o that_o you_o do_v but_o believe_v this_o that_o you_o do_v but_o consider_v this_o and_o say_v within_o yourselves_o what_o shall_v i_o be_v content_v with_o my_o portion_n in_o this_o world_n what_o shall_v i_o lose_v
