the_o same_o royal_a colour_n of_o purple_a recreate_v man_n and_o exasperate_v bull_n this_o purple_a truth_n of_o god_n this_o lustre_n of_o sanctity_n delight_v those_o that_o understand_v it_o what_o make_v matter_n if_o it_o offend_v those_o that_o have_v neithet_n wit_n nor_o brain_n to_o conceive_v it_o yea_o this_o make_v more_o for_o its_o commendation_n nothing_o show_v the_o inestimable_a worth_n and_o comeliness_n of_o truth_n more_o than_o that_o it_o seem_v worthless_a and_o deform_a to_o the_o wicked_a consider_v but_o the_o cause_n of_o this_o their_o aversion_n affliction_n impugn_v either_o one_o only_a pleasure_n or_o at_o least_o but_o some_o few_o but_o truth_n fight_v they_o all_o together_o and_o proclaim_v war_n at_o once_o against_o all_o other_o kind_n of_o vice_n therefore_o they_o hold_v it_o the_o sad_a adversary_n they_o have_v and_o for_o the_o same_o reason_n think_v they_o can_v revenge_v themselves_o no_o way_n more_o upon_o their_o enemy_n nor_o sting_v they_o more_o picquant_o then_o by_o speak_v truth_n to_o their_o disadvantage_n the_o reason_n be_v because_o what_o harm_n soever_o one_o most_o dread_v to_o himself_o his_o deform_v but_o de●forme_n not_o unwise_a but_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n the_o voice_n of_o truth_n be_v sweet_a and_o its_o countenance_n amiable_a it_o have_v god_n for_o its_o season_n it_o can_v be_v unsavoury_a or_o disgustful_a or_o taint_v that_o which_o make_v god_n happy_a must_v not_o be_v noisome_a neither_o can_v it_o make_v thou_o miserable_a what_o shall_v i_o say_v god_n be_v truth_n and_o can_v he_o be_v either_o more_o distasteful_a to_o thou_o then_o gall_n or_o not_o more_o lovely_a than_o light_n go_v to_o then_o take_v the_o courage_n to_o look_v it_o in_o the_o face_n to_o affect_v it_o to_o put_v thyself_o under_o its_o tuition_n and_o patronage_n this_o be_v the_o main_a maxim_n of_o a_o spiritual_a life_n that_o as_o carnal_a people_n hate_v nothing_o eye_n and_o what_o ought_v to_o be_v more_o desirable_a to_o a_o reasonable_a man_n then_o truth_n which_o be_v the_o eye_n of_o his_o soul_n archer_n and_o other_o creature_n also_o make_v for_o the_o behoof_n of_o man_n if_o they_o want_v their_o eye_n become_v altogether_o unserviceable_a so_o our_o whole_a life_n without_o truth_n prove_v but_o a_o fruitless_a business_n no_o one_o of_o the_o sense_n be_v more_o delectable_a than_o the_o sight_n and_o truth_n surpass_v all_o the_o other_o faculty_n of_o the_o mind_n neither_o be_v it_o more_o please_v a_o midst_n the_o smile_n of_o prosperity_n than_o the_o frown_n of_o adversity_n let_v we_o therefore_o beg●n_o with_o a_o upright_a conceit_n of_o truth_n to_o exclude_v falsehood_n deem_v nothing_o more_o delightful_a nothing_o reserve_v as_o yet_o some_o relic_n of_o their_o flesh_n and_o will_n of_o which_o they_o be_v loath_a to_o despoil_v themselves_o that_o they_o may_v make_v their_o retreat_n thither_o in_o time_n of_o need_n not_o dare_v by_o a_o total_a self_n denial_n to_o give_v themselves_o entire_o to_o god_n and_o the_o spirit_n as_o if_o some_o corrosive_n do_v attend_v his_o intimate_a familiarity_n
