the_o faith_n and_o righteousness_n of_o god_n because_o god_n who_o have_v promise_v be_v true_a and_o plain_a for_o they_o that_o think_v he_o be_v call_v just_a because_o he_o do_v justify_v we_o free_o in_o my_o judgement_n do_v reason_n too_o subtle_o for_o this_o justice_n depend_v of_o faith_n but_o each_o of_o they_o be_v annex_v to_o the_o promise_n for_o otherwise_o god_n may_v be_v just_a &_o yet_o deal_v with_o we_o in_o most_o high_a justice_n but_o because_o he_o have_v bind_v himself_o to_o we_o by_o his_o word_n he_o will_v not_o be_v take_v for_o just_a except_o he_o do_v forgive_v but_o this_o confession_n when_o it_o be_v refer_v to_o god_n require_v a_o sincere_a affection_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o the_o heart_n can_v speak_v to_o god_n without_o newness_n of_o life_n therefore_o it_o do_v contain_v in_o it_o true_a repentance_n god_n indeed_o forgive_v free_o but_o so_o that_o his_o easiness_n to_o mercy_n be_v not_o a_o intisement_n to_o sin_n shall_v of_o the_o last_o john_n speak_v when_o he_o say_v it_o be_v not_o possible_a they_o shall_v be_v alienate_v from_o the_o church_n nor_o can_v the_o seal_v which_o god_n have_v imprint_v in_o their_o heart_n be_v take_v away_o the_o incorruptible_a seed_n that_o have_v take_v root_n can_v not_o be_v pluck_v up_o nor_o abolish_v and_o here_o the_o question_n be_v not_o of_o the_o constancy_n of_o man_n but_o of_o the_o constancy_n of_o god_n who_o election_n must_v needs_o be_v sure_a wherefore_o he_o say_v not_o without_o cause_n where_o the_o call_n of_o god_n be_v effectual_a that_o there_o foolishness_n of_o man_n because_o when_o they_o do_v even_o loath_a the_o name_n they_o make_v almost_o no_o account_n of_o the_o fault_n itself_o and_o whence_o be_v that_o even_o because_o the_o outward_a face_n of_o thing_n do_v occupy_v all_o our_o sense_n before_o god_n the_o inward_a affection_n be_v regard_v wherefore_o lest_o any_o do_v any_o more_o lessen_v so_o exceed_a a_o evil_a let_v we_o learn_v to_o call_v back_o our_o judgement_n to_o the_o judgement_n feat_n of_o god_n 16_o by_o this_o we_o know_v now_o he_o show_v what_o be_v true_a love_n for_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o praise_v it_o except_o the_o power_n of_o it_o be_v know_v and_o he_o set_v forth_o a_o perfect_a rule_n of_o love_n in_o the_o example_n of_o christ_n because_o in_o not_o spare_v his_o own_o life_n he_o make_v it_o know_v how_o much_o he_o love_v us._n therefore_o he_o bid_v we_o labour_v to_o this_o point_n the_o sum_n be_v that_o therein_o be_v our_o love_n commend_v if_o we_o transfer_v the_o love_n of_o ourselves_o unto_o our_o brother_n so_o as_o every_o one_o after_o a_o sort_n forget_v himself_o take_v care_n for_o other_o it_o be_v indeed_o most_o certain_a that_o we_o be_v not_o far_o unlyke_a unto_o christ_n but_o the_o apostle_n do_v commend_v unto_o we_o imitation_n because_o albeit_o we_o attain_v not_o unto_o he_o yet_o it_o be_v good_a that_o we_o follow_v his_o step_n a_o far_o off_o indeed_o when_o the_o apostle_n give_v counsel_n to_o hypocrite_n that_o they_o cast_v away_o vain_a boast_n which_o brag_n that_o they_o have_v the_o faith_n of_o christ_n without_o brotherlye_o love_n he_o do_v show_v that_o except_o this_o desire_n do_v prevail_v in_o our_o heart_n we_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v with_o christ_n neither_o yet_o as_o i_o say_v do_v he_o so_o set_v before_o we_o the_o love_n of_o christ_n that_o he_o require_v a_o equal_a love_n of_o us._n for_o what_o shall_v that_o be_v else_o but_o a_o drive_v of_o all_o at_o once_o to_o desperation_n but_o so_o he_o will_v have_v our_o affection_n frame_v that_o we_o may_v desire_v to_o bestow_v both_o our_o life_n and_o death_n first_o to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o then_o to_o the_o good_a of_o our_o neighbour_n there_o be_v another_o difference_n betwixt_o we_o and_o christ_n that_o there_o can_v be_v the_o same_o power_n of_o our_o death_n for_o neither_o be_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n pacify_v by_o our_o blood_n nor_o life_n attain_a unto_o by_o our_o death_n nor_o the_o debt_n of_o other_o be_v pay_v but_o the_o apostle_n by_o this_o comparison_n do_v not_o respect_v what_o be_v the_o end_n or_o effect_v of_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n but_o he_o only_o will_v that_o our_o life_n shall_v be_v conform_v to_o his_o example_n 17_o if_o any_o have_v this_o world_n good_a now_o he_o preach_v of_o the_o common_a office_n of_o love_n which_o procee_v from_o that_o chief_a fountain_n that_o be_v when_o we_o be_v prepare_v to_o reach_v out_o ourselves_o even_o unto_o death_n for_o our_o brethren_n albeit_o he_o seem_v to_o reason_n from_o the_o more_o to_o the_o less_o for_o he_o that_o refuse_v to_o ease_v the_o want_n of_o his_o brother_n with_o his_o good_a while_o his_o life_n be_v not_o touch_v much_o less_o will_v he_o bestow_v his_o life_n therefore_o he_o deny_v that_o there_o be_v love_n in_o we_o if_o we_o leave_v our_o brother_n destitute_a of_o our_o help_n but_o he_o account_v so_o high_o of_o external_a liberality_n that_o together_o he_o show_v most_o fit_o what_o be_v the_o true_a way_n to_o do_v well_o &_o what_o kind_n of_o affection_n ought_v to_o guide_v the_o same_o let_v therefore_o this_o be_v the_o first_o proposition_n that_o no_o man_n do_v true_o love_v the_o brethren_n but_o he_o will_v show_v forth_o the_o same_o in_o effect_n as_o oft_o as_o occasion_n do_v require_v another_o how_o much_o riches_n any_o man_n have_v according_o he_o be_v bind_v to_o reléeve_v the_o brethren_n because_o the_o lord_n by_o this_o mean_n do_v minister_v unto_o we_o matter_n to_o exercise_v our_o love_n the_o three_o that_o every_o one_o necessity_n be_v to_o be_v consider_v because_o as_o everye_o one_o need_v meat_n drink_n or_o any_o other_o thing_n whereof_o we_o have_v store_n he_o do_v even_o so_o crave_v our_o duty_n the_o four_o that_o there_o be_v no_o liberality_n do_v please_v god_n except_o it_o be_v join_v te_fw-la sumpatheia_n to_o a_o compassion_n many_o seem_v to_o be_v liberal_a which_o yet_o be_v not_o any_o whit_n touch_v with_o the_o misery_n of_o their_o brethren_n but_o the_o apostle_n bid_v we_o to_o open_v our_o bowel_n which_o be_v do_v when_o we_o put_v upon_o we_o almost_o the_o same_o feel_v that_o we_o may_v bewail_v together_o the_o evil_n of_o other_o no_o other_o way_n then_o as_o our_o own_o the_o love_n of_o god_n hear_v the_o question_n be_v of_o the_o love_n of_o brethren_n therefore_o why_o do_v he_o name_v the_o love_n of_o god_n very_o the_o principle_n must_v be_v keep_v that_o it_o can_v be_v but_o it_o be_v the_o love_n of_o god_n shall_v beget_v in_o we_o the_o love_n of_o our_o brother_n and_o by_o this_o mean_v god_n take_v a_o experience_n of_o our_o love_n towards_o he_o while_o he_o command_v we_o to_o love_v man_n for_o his_o sake_n as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o 16._o psalm_n my_o do_v well_o extend_v not_o unto_o thou_o but_o my_o will_n and_o my_o desire_n be_v unto_o the_o saint_n which_o be_v in_o the_o earth_n 18_o let_v we_o not_o love_v in_o word_n there_o be_v a_o grant_n in_o this_o first_o part_n for_o we_o can_v love_v only_o with_o the_o tongue_n but_o because_o many_o do_v false_o boast_v of_o this_o the_o apostle_n give_v the_o name_n of_o the_o thing_n to_o their_o dissimulation_n as_o use_v often_o to_o be_v do_v albeit_o in_o the_o other_o part_n he_o reprove_v their_o vanity_n when_o he_o deni_v that_o it_o be_v the_o truth_n except_o it_o be_v in_o deed_n for_o thus_o the_o word_n be_v to_o be_v resolve_v let_v we_o not_o profess_v with_o tongue_n that_o we_o love_v but_o let_v we_o approve_v it_o by_o deed_n because_o this_o be_v the_o right_a condition_n of_o love_n 19_o and_o by_o this_o we_o know_v that_o we_o be_v of_o the_o truth_n &_o shall_v persuade_v our_o heart_n before_o he_o 20_o but_o if_o our_o heart_n accuse_v we_o true_o god_n be_v great_a than_o our_o heart_n &_o know_v all_o thing_n 21_o belove_a if_o our_o heart_n accuse_v we_o not_o we_o have_v trust_v towards_o god_n 22_o and_o if_o we_o ask_v any_o thing_n we_o receive_v it_o of_o he_o because_o we_o keep_v his_o commandment_n and_o do_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v pleasant_a before_o he_o 19_o he_o take_v the_o name_n of_o truth_n here_o in_o another_o sense_n but_o it_o be_v a_o excellent_a give_v of_o a_o name_n that_o if_o we_o love_v our_o brother_n true_o we_o have_v hereby_o a_o testimony_n that_o we_o be_v bear_v of_o god_n who_o be_v the_o truth_n or_o that_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n have_v place_n in_o us._n but_o let_v we_o always_o remember_v that_o we_o have_v not_o
