not_o only_o open_a enemy_n do_v great_a wrong_n to_o christ_n but_o even_o some_o seem_a welwisher_n by_o their_o indifferent_a way_n of_o plead_v for_o he_o and_o their_o shallow_a conception_n of_o so_o natural_o know_v all_o his_o mystery_n and_o as_o man_n have_v knowledge_n thereof_o by_o communication_n from_o his_o godhead_n so_o all_o this_o be_v communicate_v to_o he_o from_o the_o father_n who_o send_v he_o to_o the_o world_n to_o reveal_v his_o counsel_n and_o this_o may_v appear_v in_o his_o divine_a furniture_n without_o all_o humane_a industry_n whence_o learn_v 1._o as_o christ_n full_o know_v the_o father_n mind_n and_o counsel_n so_o he_o be_v the_o faithful_a revealer_n thereof_o for_o his_o doctrine_n be_v the_o father_n who_o send_v he_o it_o be_v from_o the_o darkness_n of_o ignorance_n nor_o under_o the_o power_n of_o the_o way_n of_o darkness_n or_o under_o the_o danger_n of_o outer_a darkness_n and_o albeit_o sometime_o they_o may_v be_v leave_v under_o either_o we_o be_v lie_v under_o unrepented_a guilt_n or_o have_v neglect_v prayer_n till_o we_o come_v to_o a_o strait_a or_o have_v not_o sense_n as_o we_o ought_v of_o what_o we_o seek_v and_o also_o that_o he_o may_v try_v what_o man_n deportment_n will_v be_v when_o their_o prayer_n aâ—e_v not_o answer_v yet_o this_o be_v a_o truth_n of_o eternal_a verity_n whatsoever_o you_o shall_v betwixt_o the_o way_n under_o the_o law_n and_o under_o the_o gospel_n in_o the_o one_o their_o use_n make_v of_o a_o mediator_n in_o prayer_n be_v involve_v under_o many_o type_n and_o shadow_n particular_o that_o of_o the_o mercy_n seat_n and_o though_o they_o direct_v their_o prayer_n to_o god_n through_o a_o mediator_n and_o by_o virtue_n of_o the_o covenant_n yet_o it_o be_v without_o any_o particular_a application_n of_o that_o office_n of_o mediator_n unto_o the_o person_n of_o jesus_n the_o son_n of_o mary_n as_o not_o be_v yet_o manifest_v and_o it_o be_v not_o unlike_a that_o the_o disciple_n and_o other_o whatever_o thought_n they_o have_v of_o christ_n yet_o hitherto_o they_o have_v not_o so_o distinct_o make_v use_n of_o he_o in_o his_o office_n of_o mediator_n in_o the_o matter_n of_o prayer_n but_o under_o the_o gospel_n especial_o after_o the_o pour_v out_o of_o the_o spirit_n vail_n be_v take_v away_o and_o the_o mediator_n exhibit_v in_o person_n to_o be_v in_o his_o power_n to_o execute_v any_o such_o purpose_n without_o the_o permission_n of_o god_n and_o so_o in_o sum_n christ_n refute_v his_o proud_a boast_n of_o his_o power_n by_o let_v he_o see_v that_o there_o be_v a_o power_n above_o he_o to_o who_o his_o power_n and_o authority_n be_v subordinate_a and_o subject_a that_o it_o be_v by_o a_o particular_a dispensation_n he_o have_v any_o power_n over_o he_o and_o that_o he_o have_v no_o right_a to_o do_v wrong_a as_o he_o please_v to_o any_o though_o he_o boast_v of_o it_o nor_o can_v he_o execute_v any_o such_o purpose_n without_o the_o permission_n of_o god_n 2._o christ_n answer_v concern_v judas_n and_o the_o jew_n who_o have_v deliver_v he_o into_o his_o hand_n and_o declare_v that_o however_o he_o shall_v sin_v in_o employ_v his_o power_n to_o crucify_v he_o yet_o they_o have_v great_a sin_n who_o put_v he_o in_o his_o power_n and_o have_v treacherous_o betray_v and_o give_v he_o up_o this_o be_v subjoin_v to_o thus_o if_o his_o power_n be_v of_o god_n they_o sin_v the_o more_o who_o will_v have_v he_o abuse_v that_o power_n by_o crucify_a of_o he_o and_o especial_o they_o who_o know_v more_o from_o the_o scripture_n of_o the_o subordination_n of_o humane_a power_n to_o god_n and_o what_o christ_n be_v than_o pilate_n do_v doct._n 1._o superficial_a tincture_n of_o good_a in_o unrenewed_a man_n will_v soon_o appear_v what_o they_o be_v if_o they_o get_v a_o tentation_n for_o albeit_o pilate_n have_v even_o now_o be_v afraid_a of_o what_o he_o have_v hear_v speak_v of_o christ_n v._o 8._o yet_o now_o when_o he_o be_v irritate_fw-la with_o his_o silence_n he_o appear_v in_o his_o own_o colour_n speak_v thou_o not_o unto_o i_o &_o c_o 2._o man_n pride_n and_o conceit_n of_o their_o own_o greatness_n and_o power_n if_o they_o be_v in_o any_o authority_n will_v ready_o cause_v they_o miscarry_v upon_o the_o least_o appearance_n of_o provocation_n for_o this_o do_v mislead_v pilate_n here_o speak_v thou_o not_o unto_o i_o know_v thou_o not_o that_o i_o have_v power_n &_o c_o 3._o it_o be_v the_o great_a sin_n and_o snare_n of_o man_n in_o power_n that_o they_o think_v they_o may_v employ_v their_o power_n as_o they_o please_v and_o may_v dispose_v of_o these_o who_o be_v under_o they_o according_a to_o their_o own_o humour_n and_o will_n without_o controlment_n or_o opposition_n for_o this_o be_v pilate_n reckon_v here_o albeit_o in_o his_o conscience_n he_o have_v absolve_v christ_n as_o innocent_a and_o therefore_o will_v have_v have_v he_o release_v as_o one_o who_o he_o may_v not_o wrong_v yet_o when_o his_o pride_n be_v aloft_o he_o think_v he_o may_v do_v what_o he_o please_v know_v thou_o not_o that_o i_o have_v power_n to_o crucify_v thou_o and_o have_v power_n to_o release_v thou_o 4._o man_n in_o their_o proud_a fit_n care_v not_o what_o snare_n they_o run_v upon_o nor_o what_o inconvenience_n they_o follow_v so_o their_o pride_n get_v a_o vent_n and_o they_o get_v leave_v to_o insult_v and_o boast_v for_o pilate_n in_o this_o proud_a boast_n do_v not_o consider_v nor_o regard_v that_o his_o own_o confession_n that_o he_o have_v power_n to_o release_v christ_n do_v condemn_v he_o if_o he_o do_v not_o release_v he_o but_o he_o must_v speak_v out_o his_o proud_a thought_n whatever_o be_v the_o consequent_n 5._o proud_a and_o insolent_a boast_n of_o man_n â—ill_v not_o find_v christ_n silent_a but_o whatever_o else_o it_o be_v that_o he_o seem_v to_o take_v no_o notice_n of_o he_o will_v be_v sure_a to_o appear_v against_o pride_n
