A Message termed Marke the truth of the worde of God in these .xiii. Bloes at the Popes Bull. And the same to be doone to the Popes Champian that set vp his Bull on the Gate of the Bishop of London 1570. Actes 17 chap. 11. 12. verse These were also more noble men then they whiche were at Thessalonica which receiued the word with all redinesse and serched the Scriptures daily whether those thinges were so novv marke the cause wherefore Preachers and Writers should be beleeued by these words that folow in the verse Therefore many of them beleeued and of honest women whiche were Grecyans and men not a few ¶ Marke the truth of the vvorde of God in these xiij Blowes at the Popes Bull. WRITE or speake to him that set vp the Popes Bull on the gate of the Bishop of London that he may requyre his maister the Pope E to blesse with the word of God and to cursse with the worde of god For otherwise Englande and other Countries will not passe a straw for his Blessing either els for his Curssyng The Popes champion bringeth vs in wordes the Popes Curssyng But we can and wyll shew him in actes and deedes God his blessynge The Popes Champion with his maister wilfully forgetteth how that of late yeres in the raygne of Queene Mary his Maister sent in words into England his Blessynge And how that notwithstanding it plainly appereth that Englande founde cleane contrarie in Actes and deedes God his Curssing For where almighte GOD threatned in his worde that for the wickednes of the people he wold sende a foren Prince to raigne ouer them E And had not the subiects of England in the same time a foren Prince raignyng ouer them accordyng to the thretnyng notwithstandinge the Pope his masters Blessyng Againe God thretned also in AMOS the Prophet that for the synnes of the Princes and People he woulde take away from thē his holy worde E And was not the Byble then burned in Englande accordyng to the thretnynge * And his maisters Ceremonies beynge Coddes and Draffe placed notwithstandyng the Pope his Maisters Blessynge Agayne GOD thretned also in his holy worde that for the synnes of the People he would sende Famine Derth of Materiall Breade E And was there not accordynge to the thretnynge suche a Famin and Derth of Materiall Breade that the Subiectes of England were forced to make their Breade of Acornes of whiche many died notwithstandinge the Pope his maisters blessing These and many other plagues of E warre in which Calis was lost and of sickenesse c. Had Englande at that time with his Maisters blessynge But euer from that time his maisters blessing was turned to cursyng E Haue wee not had a most gratious English born prince blessed be GOD this .xii. yeres raygnyng ouer vs and so wee hope lōge time if our sinnes let it not shal continew wher Queene Mary raygned not .vi. yeres notwithstandinge the Pope his maisters blessynge And againe euer from that time his Maisters blessynge was turned into curssynge E Haue wee not had greate plentie of Corne and in those Cities moste plentie where those straūgers remayne that be vnder the Pope his maysters Cursse Agayne require the Popes Champion to cōsyder how the Queenes maiestie our Soueraigne Lady had and hath the Pope his Maisters Cursse But Kynge Henry of Fraunce with his Children had and hath the Pope his maisters blessynge E Let him consyder bothe states then set vp another Bull and declare in the Bull by the actes deedes who hath in actes and deedes God his blessyng who hath in actes and deedes the Cursse of God and he shall finde that truly fulfilled in the holy Scripture vpon the Pope his Maister written in the .2 Ca. of Malachi the Prophet E I vvyl euen sende a Cursse vpon you and vvill cursse your blessynges The Queenes Maiestie oure Soueraygne Lady hath the Popes curse and the King of Spaine hath the Pope his maisters blessing E Let him consyder bothe states and then set vp another Bull and declare in the Bull by the actes deedes who hath in actes and deedes God his blessing and who hath in acts and deedes God his curse and he shall fynde the woordes of the Prophet Malachi most truly fulfilled vpon the Pope his maister The Queenes maiesty our Soureaigne Ladye hath the Popes curse and the Queene of Scottes hath the Pope his maysters blessynge E Let him consyder bothe states and then set vp another Bull and declare in the Bull c. he shal fynde the wordes of the Prophet Malachi most truly fulfilled vpon the Pope his maister The Queenes Maiestie our Soueraigne Ladie hath the Popes curse and the the Pope blesseth him selfe E Let him consider bothe states and then set vp another Bull and declare in the Bull. c. and he shall find the words of the Prophet Malachi most truly fulfilled vpon the Pope his maister wherefore Englande with other countreyes which taketh blessing of the word of God is truly blessed And other Countreys whiche take their blessing from the Pope is truly cursed with the Pope him self and therfore we haue cause to desire of God to kepe vs farre from the Popes blessing of whose blessing hauing had to muche experience wee finde suche pitifull shedinge of English bloode that his murthering fiers destroyed .xiii. in one fier and stayed not but proceded to the mother and to the louing Infant in the mothers wombe wherfore oure harty desire vnto God shal be that we may haue still the Popes cursing vntill he become obedient to the word of God and blesse with the worde of God and curse with the worde of god Also require him to let his master further vnderstand that the Princes and people knowe it is the nature of a Bull to beget a Calf and the nature of the Calfe to feare the Bul and therfore all those that be the Popes Calues let them feare the Popes Bull for those that be no Calues feare it not but will do him to geue knowledge to the Pope and to his clergie that they neither can not nor dare not confute and aunswer this Lay mans Legacie ioygned to this Message termed c. and suffer it to go abrode in Rome other places where the Popes Bul hath begotten Calues And thus the Bull beyng truly answered he may againe secretly conuey it tel his maister the Pope that this answer requireth secret keepinge for the more this Aunswer is manifested in Rome in Fraunce c. the more shame will it be for his Maister the Pope to ride on foure mens shoulders and to make Emperours and Kinges with the people to kisse his showes with impudent lying make the Princes and people to beleeue their sinnes be forgeuen with kissyng his show which thynge he neuer learned of Christ Iesus by commaundement nor by example neyther
