as_o themselves_o and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n none_o fare_v worse_o than_o those_o that_o be_v best_o and_o gentle_a and_o least_o harmful_a to_o other_o those_o that_o live_v upon_o prey_n will_v be_v fat_a and_o in_o good_a like_n when_o other_o it_o may_v be_v be_v ready_a to_o famish_v for_o want_v of_o food_n and_o we_o see_v in_o daily_a experience_n that_o the_o pheasant_n and_o partridge_n the_o fowler_n look_v after_o when_o the_o kite_n and_o vulture_n be_v never_o mind_v and_o thus_o it_o be_v too_o with_o beast_n and_o fish_n there_o be_v multitude_n more_o kill_v daily_o of_o those_o that_o be_v gentle_a and_o harmless_a then_o of_o those_o that_o be_v most_o mischievous_a and_o feed_v altogether_o upon_o the_o blood_n of_o other_o yea_o and_o among_o the_o plant_n of_o the_o earth_n we_o use_v to_o observe_v that_o ill_a weed_n grow_v apace_o and_o poisonous_a plant_n do_v often_o flourish_v and_o spread_v fast_o than_o those_o that_o be_v most_o useful_a and_o most_o acceptable_a among_o man_n now_o since_o we_o may_v conclude_v with_o job_n that_o none_o can_v be_v ignorant_a but_o that_o these_o thing_n be_v do_v thus_o by_o the_o special_a providence_n of_o god_n vers_fw-la 9_o who_o know_v not_o in_o all_o these_o that_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o lord_n have_v wrought_v this_o we_o may_v gather_v from_o thence_o that_o if_o god_n by_o his_o providence_n do_v for_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o own_o name_n order_v it_o thus_o among_o the_o other_o creature_n why_o may_v he_o not_o also_o order_v it_o so_o among_o man_n they_o be_v also_o the_o work_n of_o his_o own_o hand_n and_o make_v for_o his_o glory_n as_o well_o as_o the_o rest_n and_o again_o 2._o it_o may_v be_v gather_v from_o hence_o that_o none_o have_v such_o plenty_n of_o the_o creature_n beast_n foul_a or_o fish_n none_o have_v so_o great_a a_o portion_n of_o the_o earth_n as_o the_o wicked_a usual_o have_v so_o that_o all_o the_o creature_n do_v proclaim_v the_o certainty_n of_o this_o truth_n but_o than_o other_o again_o conceive_v that_o because_o zophar_n have_v such_o high_a thought_n of_o that_o which_o he_o have_v speak_v concern_v the_o incomprehensible_a wisdom_n and_o power_n of_o god_n therefore_o job_n show_v he_o that_o every_o ordinary_a man_n may_v learn_v as_o much_o as_o that_o concern_v god_n though_o he_o have_v no_o other_o instructer_n than_o the_o dumb_a unreasonable_a and_o senseless_a creature_n zophar_n have_v say_v to_o set_v forth_o the_o transcendent_a wisdom_n of_o god_n that_o it_o be_v as_o high_a as_o heaven_n and_o deep_a than_o hell_n etc._n etc._n chap._n 11.8_o job_n here_o answer_v he_o that_o there_o be_v no_o need_n to_o climb_v up_o into_o heaven_n or_o to_o descend_v down_o into_o hell_n to_o find_v out_o this_o since_o we_o may_v learn_v it_o from_o every_o creature_n that_o we_o behold_v with_o our_o eye_n by_o every_o beast_n bird_n fish_n or_o plant_v we_o may_v easy_o learn_v this_o that_o the_o god_n that_o make_v they_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o god_n of_o infinite_a and_o incomprehensible_a both_o wisdom_n and_o might_n verse_n 11._o do_v not_o the_o ear_n try_v word_n and_o the_o mouth_n taste_v his_o meat_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v and_o so_o likewise_o do_v the_o mind_n of_o man_n discern_v these_o spiritual_a truth_n concern_v god_n which_o be_v teach_v by_o the_o creature_n that_o which_o the_o dumb_a creature_n proclaim_v concern_v the_o wisdom_n power_n and_o providence_n of_o god_n the_o reasonable_a soul_n of_o man_n may_v as_o plain_o and_o easy_o discern_v as_o the_o ear_n discern_v word_n or_o the_o mouth_n taste_v meat_n these_o be_v not_o such_o hide_a mystery_n as_o you_o will_v pretend_v they_o may_v be_v easy_o discover_v even_o by_o the_o outward_a sense_n thus_o very_a many_o expositor_n understand_v this_o clause_n and_o so_o take_v it_o as_o add_v by_o way_n of_o amplify_a what_o be_v say_v in_o the_o forego_n verse_n concern_v the_o clear_a discovery_n that_o be_v make_v of_o god_n incomprehensible_a wisdom_n and_o power_n in_o every_o one_o of_o the_o creature_n but_o yet_o there_o be_v another_o exposition_n that_o be_v give_v of_o these_o word_n which_o be_v judge_v by_o many_o better_a than_o the_o former_a do_v not_o the_o ear_n try_v word_n and_o the_o mouth_n taste_v his_o meat_n that_o be_v as_o the_o mouth_n do_v discern_v the_o taste_n of_o meat_n what_o be_v sweet_a and_o what_o be_v sour_a what_o have_v a_o pleasant_a what_o a_o unpleasant_a relish_n so_o be_v the_o ear_n to_o judge_v of_o word_n we_o hear_v speak_v to_o wit_n whether_o they_o be_v true_a or_o false_a what_o be_v wise_o and_o what_o be_v foolish_o speak_v and_o if_o we_o thus_o understand_v the_o word_n than_o the_o drift_n of_o job_n therein_o must_v be_v either_o to_o show_v the_o reason_n why_o he_o do_v not_o immediate_o embrace_v all_o for_o truth_n which_o they_o have_v speak_v which_o it_o seem_v they_o expect_v he_o shall_v have_v do_v and_o therefore_o be_v offend_v that_o he_o do_v oppose_v they_o it_o be_v because_o his_o ear_n be_v give_v he_o to_o hear_v what_o be_v speak_v that_o then_o he_o may_v judge_v of_o it_o even_o as_o his_o mouth_n be_v to_o judge_v of_o the_o taste_n of_o his_o meat_n or_o else_o to_o answer_v that_o which_o bildad_o have_v say_v chap._n 8.8_o 9_o know_v there_o be_v a_o judgement_n now_o zophar_n be_v exceed_o nettle_v with_o these_o word_n break_v out_o present_o as_o in_o relation_n thereto_o therefore_o do_v my_o thought_n cause_v i_o to_o answer_v and_o for_o this_o i_o make_v haste_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v whereas_o you_o think_v to_o stop_v our_o mouth_n by_o threaten_v we_o with_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n so_o far_o be_o i_o from_o be_v terrify_v herewith_o that_o this_o above_o all_o force_v i_o to_o speak_v so_o that_o now_o i_o be_o not_o able_a to_o hold_v my_o peace_n any_o long_o and_o three_o reason_n may_v be_v conceive_v why_o zophar_n shall_v upon_o those_o word_n above_o other_o be_v so_o much_o stir_v in_o his_o spirit_n that_o he_o can_v no_o long_o forbear_v 1._o because_o he_o may_v judge_v this_o most_o insufferable_a that_o he_o that_o lay_v under_o such_o judgement_n of_o god_n himself_o shall_v yet_o be_v so_o confident_a that_o he_o be_v in_o the_o right_n as_o to_o threaten_v they_o with_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n for_o speak_v against_o he_o perceive_v how_o he_o wrongful_o apply_v the_o judgement_n of_o god_n it_o be_v time_n to_o make_v he_o sâ—_n his_o error_n herein_o 2._o because_o he_o may_v apprehend_v that_o he_o have_v now_o a_o notable_a advantage_n to_o convince_v he_o from_o his_o own_o word_n since_o if_o wrath_n bring_v the_o punishment_n of_o the_o sword_n as_o job_n say_v what_o cause_n have_v he_o to_o be_v afraid_a of_o this_o sword_n of_o divine_a vengeance_n that_o have_v in_o so_o much_o fury_n and_o wrath_n utter_v so_o many_o bitter_a speech_n against_o god_n and_o so_o scornful_o despise_v the_o admonition_n of_o his_o friend_n and_o 3._o because_o he_o may_v be_v eager_a to_o put_v he_o in_o mind_n that_o if_o there_o be_v judgement_n and_o a_o sword_n of_o divine_a vengeance_n for_o wicked_a man_n he_o may_v thence_o know_v what_o himself_o be_v who_o this_o sword_n of_o god_n have_v already_o so_o sore_o wound_v however_o observable_a be_v the_o expression_n which_o zophar_n here_o use_v my_o thought_n cause_v i_o to_o answer_v for_o hereby_o he_o will_v seem_v to_o imply_v that_o though_o he_o shall_v speak_v zealous_o yet_o he_o shall_v not_o speak_v rash_o because_o he_o have_v serious_o be_v think_v himself_o of_o what_o he_o mean_v to_o say_v verse_n 3._o i_o have_v hear_v the_o check_n of_o my_o reproach_n etc._n etc._n that_o be_v the_o check_n and_o taunt_n wherewith_o to_o my_o reproach_n thou_o have_v upbraid_v i_o and_o scorn_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n which_o have_v be_v speak_v to_o thou_o for_o though_o some_o expositor_n refer_v this_o particular_o to_o that_o sharp_a expression_n of_o job_n chap._n 19.23_o why_o do_v you_o persecute_v i_o as_o god_n and_o be_v not_o satisfy_v with_o my_o flesh_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v what_o do_v you_o charge_v i_o with_o persecute_v you_o with_o eat_v up_o your_o flesh_n be_v you_o not_o ashamed_a to_o cast_v such_o job_n have_v speak_v in_o common_a to_o they_o all_o as_o for_o the_o follow_a clause_n and_o the_o spirit_n of_o my_o understanding_n cause_v i_o to_o answer_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o understanding_n may_v be_v mean_v either_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n enlighten_v his_o mind_n and_o cause_v he_o to_o understand_v or_o his_o soul_n by_o which_o he_o be_v enable_v to_o understand_v or_o the_o force_n and_o strength_n of_o his_o understanding_n or_o the_o high_a and_o chief_a and_o most_o refine_a part_n of_o the_o understanding_n that_o which_o be_v most_o free_a from_o the_o dregs_o of_o passion_n but_o however_o doubtless_o the_o drift_n of_o zophar_n in_o this_o expression_n be_v either_o to_o imply_v that_o he_o mean_v to_o answer_v job_n with_o reason_n and_o understanding_n and_o not_o in_o passion_n and_o anger_n as_o job_n have_v still_o reply_v upon_o they_o or_o else_o rather_o to_o show_v that_o the_o reason_n why_o he_o can_v not_o forbear_v speak_v any_o long_o be_v because_o he_o do_v clear_o understand_v that_o it_o be_v the_o truth_n which_o they_o maintain_v against_o job_n and_o be_v able_a by_o evident_a reason_n to_o convince_v he_o of_o his_o folly_n in_o reproach_v his_o friend_n as_o he_o have_v do_v for_o that_o which_o they_o have_v speak_v and_o of_o the_o wickedness_n which_o they_o have_v charge_v he_o with_o verse_n 4._o know_v thou_o not_o this_o of_o old_a since_o man_n be_v place_v upon_o earth_n etc._n etc._n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v i_o appeal_v to_o thy_o own_o conscience_n can_z thou_o be_v ignorant_a of_o that_o which_o the_o experience_n of_o all_o age_n have_v approve_v to_o be_v true_a ever_o since_o god_n first_o make_v man_n and_o place_v he_o upon_o the_o earth_n to_o wit_n as_o it_o follow_v in_o the_o next_o verse_n that_o the_o triumph_v of_o the_o wicked_a be_v short_a and_o the_o joy_n of_o the_o hypocrite_n but_o for_o a_o moment_n and_o well_o it_o may_v be_v that_o when_o zophar_n speak_v this_o he_o have_v in_o his_o thought_n how_o god_n punish_v cain_n the_o son_n of_o adam_n and_o ham_n and_o his_o curse_a posterity_n immediate_o after_o the_o flood_n verse_n 6._o thaugh_o his_o excellency_n mount_v up_o to_o the_o heaven_n and_o his_o head_n reach_v unto_o the_o cloud_n that_o be_v though_o he_o overtop_v all_o man_n in_o riches_n honour_n authority_n and_o high_a esteem_n and_o be_v get_v up_o to_o the_o high_a pitch_n of_o outward_a prosperity_n and_o glory_n insomuch_o that_o hereupon_o he_o exalt_v himself_o in_o his_o pride_n as_o a_o little_a god_n upon_o earth_n and_o think_v his_o condition_n as_o unchangeable_a as_o the_o heaven_n we_o have_v the_o like_a expression_n matth._n 11.23_o and_o thou_o capernaum_n which_o be_v exalt_v unto_o heaven_n shall_v be_v bring_v down_o to_o hell_n verse_n 7._o yet_o he_o shall_v perish_v for_o ever_o like_o his_o own_o dung_n etc._n etc._n this_o expression_n of_o zophar_n may_v putrefaction_n 2._o that_o when_o god_n begin_v to_o execute_v his_o judgement_n upon_o he_o he_o shall_v become_v loathsome_a base_a and_o abominable_a unto_o all_o man_n so_o that_o none_o shall_v vouchsafe_v to_o save_v he_o but_o he_o shall_v be_v cast_v out_o with_o the_o detestation_n and_o abhor_v of_o all_o and_o 3._o that_o he_o shall_v perish_v utter_o both_o he_o and_o he_o according_a to_o that_o which_o be_v say_v of_o jeroboam_fw-la 1_o king_n 14.10_o i_o will_v take_v away_o the_o remnant_n of_o the_o house_n of_o jeroboam_fw-la as_o a_o man_n take_v away_o dung_n till_o it_o be_v all_o go_v concern_v which_o see_v the_o note_n there_o and_o likely_a enough_o it_o be_v too_o that_o zophar_n may_v herein_o allude_v to_o the_o dunghill_n whereon_o job_n now_o sit_v chap._n 2.8_o and_o to_o the_o complaint_n he_o have_v make_v in_o the_o forego_n chapter_n that_o god_n have_v strip_v he_o of_o his_o glory_n and_o take_v away_o the_o crown_n from_o his_o head_n and_o that_o all_o his_o near_a friend_n etc._n etc._n despise_a he_o and_o stand_v aloof_o from_o he_o and_o so_o intimate_v to_o he_o that_o it_o be_v not_o strange_a at_o all_o that_o it_o be_v thus_o since_o it_o be_v the_o usual_a portion_n of_o the_o wicked_a man_n thus_o to_o perish_v as_o his_o own_o dung_n that_o be_v man_n dung_n the_o most_o loathsome_a of_o all_o dung_n and_o to_o the_o same_o purpose_n be_v the_o follow_a clause_n they_o which_o have_v see_v he_o shall_v say_v where_o be_v he_o for_o this_o imply_v 1._o that_o he_o shall_v be_v utter_o cut_v off_o and_o not_o be_v see_v any_o more_o and_o 2._o that_o they_o that_o have_v see_v he_o with_o admiration_n in_o his_o height_n of_o prosperity_n shall_v wonder_v to_o see_v afterward_o how_o on_o a_o sudden_a he_o be_v quite_o perish_v and_o go_v not_o so_o much_o as_o any_o memorial_n be_v leave_v of_o he_o and_o shall_v speak_v of_o he_o in_o a_o way_n of_o scorn_n and_o contempt_n verse_n 8._o he_o shall_v fly_v deceit_n and_o so_o it_o be_v here_o my_o belly_n be_v as_o wine_n which_o have_v no_o vent_n that_o be_v my_o mind_n be_v ready_a to_o burst_v with_o a_o desire_n to_o utter_v what_o i_o have_v to_o breath_n of_o life_n gen._n 2.7_o and_o therefore_o you_o have_v no_o reason_n to_o despise_v my_o word_n since_o to_o i_o though_o young_a god_n may_v reveal_v the_o truth_n as_o well_o as_o to_o another_o but_o i_o rather_o conceive_v the_o drift_n of_o the_o word_n to_o be_v this_o job_n have_v often_o wish_v that_o he_o may_v plead_v his_o cause_n with_o god_n as_o chap._n 16.21_o and_o chap._n 23.3_o 4_o 5._o and_o in_o other_o place_n but_o yet_o still_o upon_o this_o condition_n that_o god_n will_v withdraw_v his_o hand_n and_o not_o overbear_v and_o daunt_v and_o oppress_v he_o with_o his_o majesty_n and_o power_n as_o we_o may_v find_v it_o clear_o express_v chap._n 9.34_o 35._o and_o chap._n 13.20_o 21_o 22._o now_o therefore_o elihu_n tell_v he_o that_o he_o will_v undertake_v as_o in_o god_n stead_n to_o plead_v with_o he_o and_o say_v he_o i_o be_o a_o man_n as_o thou_o be_v with_o who_o thou_o may_v plead_v upon_o equal_a term_n and_o need_v not_o be_v that_o he_o will_v fetch_v his_o proof_n for_o the_o justify_n of_o god_n from_o the_o eternal_a nature_n of_o god_n or_o from_o the_o work_n of_o creation_n as_o we_o see_v towards_o the_o end_n of_o this_o chapter_n he_o argue_v from_o those_o meteor_n of_o rain_n thunder_n and_o lightning_n etc._n etc._n and_o these_o thing_n he_o call_v knowledge_n from_o afar_o either_o because_o the_o thing_n he_o mean_v to_o speak_v of_o be_v of_o a_o high_a nature_n far_o remote_a from_o we_o and_o not_o easy_o comprehend_v by_o humane_a reason_n or_o because_o they_o be_v such_o thing_n as_o have_v be_v from_o the_o first_o creation_n yea_o as_o concern_v the_o nature_n of_o god_n from_o all_o eternity_n or_o because_o they_o may_v seem_v to_o be_v far_o from_o the_o matter_n in_o question_n though_o indeed_o they_o be_v principle_n and_o general_a ground_n from_o whence_o that_o truth_n which_o he_o be_v to_o maintain_v may_v be_v unquestionable_o conclude_v and_o prove_v as_o for_o the_o follow_a clause_n and_o will_v ascribe_v righteousness_n to_o my_o maker_n in_o these_o word_n my_o maker_n elihu_n imply_v that_o in_o regard_n he_o have_v his_o be_v from_o god_n he_o be_v bind_v to_o plead_v his_o cause_n and_o withal_o he_o may_v intend_v thereby_o covert_o to_o charge_n job_n with_o be_v ungrateful_o injurious_a to_o his_o creator_n verse_n 4._o for_o true_o my_o word_n enable_v he_o to_o do_v much_o the_o more_o good_a in_o the_o place_n where_o he_o live_v &_o be_v a_o encouragement_n to_o other_o in_o well-doing_n which_o riches_n be_v not_o verse_n 2._o the_o rich_a &_o poor_a meet_v together_o etc._n etc._n that_o be_v say_v some_o when_o the_o rich_a decline_v in_o their_o estate_n &_o the_o poor_a by_o degree_n grow_v in_o wealth_n come_v at_o length_n to_o be_v of_o equal_a estate_n or_o thus_o though_o in_o regard_n of_o their_o outward_a condition_n there_o be_v a_o vast_a difference_n between_o the_o rich_a &_o the_o poor_a the_o rich_a be_v
