of_o the_o spirit_n to_o resist_v their_o judgement_n and_o they_o be_v persuade_v that_o their_o apprehension_n be_v cause_v by_o the_o spirit_n partly_o because_o they_o have_v no_o such_o thing_n while_o they_o live_v in_o wickedness_n but_o it_o come_v in_o either_o with_o their_o change_n or_o short_o after_o and_o therefore_o they_o think_v that_o the_o same_o light_n which_o show_v they_o their_o sinful_a state_n do_v show_v they_o also_o all_o these_o principle_n and_o partly_o because_o they_o find_v themselves_o as_o deep_o â—ffected_v with_o these_o misapprehension_n as_o with_o other_o which_o be_v sound_a and_o right_a therefore_o they_o be_v confident_a that_o they_o come_v from_o the_o same_o spirit_n and_o special_o when_o these_o thought_n come_v in_o upon_o the_o read_n of_o the_o scripture_n or_o in_o meditation_n or_o after_o earnest_a prayer_n to_o god_n to_o teach_v they_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o lead_v they_o into_o the_o truth_n and_o not_o to_o suffer_v they_o to_o err_v and_o when_o they_o find_v that_o they_o have_v good_a end_n and_o meaning_n and_o a_o desire_n to_o know_v the_o truth_n all_o thâ—s_n persuade_v they_o that_o it_o be_v strike_v with_o a_o reverence_n to_o their_o profession_n and_o with_o a_o fear_n lest_o i_o shall_v resist_v god_n in_o resist_v they_o but_o resolve_v to_o take_v none_o on_o earth_n for_o the_o of_o the_o spirit_n to_o bless_v the_o scripture_n to_o your_o true_a illumination_n and_o sanctification_n and_o if_o any_o pretend_v to_o any_o other_o revelation_n or_o inspiration_n or_o more_o to_o be_v regard_v in_o many_o controversy_n about_o the_o pastoral_n work_n and_o discipline_n than_o a_o unexperienced_a physician_n or_o chirurgeon_n or_o soldier_n or_o pilot_n in_o many_o case_n of_o their_o profession_n which_o make_v many_o learned_a self-conceiced_n doctor_n become_v the_o plague_n while_o they_o think_v themselves_o the_o pillar_n of_o the_o church_n there_o be_v no_o parent_n or_o master_n but_o find_v it_o present_o in_o their_o child_n how_o quick_o they_o will_v learn_v a_o catechism_n and_o therein_o the_o creed_n lord_n prayer_n and_o decalogue_n while_o they_o scarce_o understand_v the_o sense_n and_o matter_n of_o any_o of_o the_o plain_a word_n which_o they_o have_v utter_v and_o we_o find_v it_o be_v just_a so_o with_o too_o many_o of_o the_o age_a also_o and_o therefore_o if_o by_o other_o question_n and_o explication_n you_o put_v they_o out_o of_o their_o road_n and_o teach_v they_o not_o to_o fix_v their_o thought_n upon_o the_o matter_n as_o well_o as_o on_o the_o word_n it_o will_v all_o prove_v but_o as_o the_o teach_n of_o a_o parrot_n and_o not_o of_o a_o true_a believer_n and_o what_o i_o have_v say_v of_o catechise_v be_v true_a also_o of_o prayer_n &_o confession_n and_o every_o other_o part_n of_o worship_n in_o which_o the_o hypocrite_n part_n be_v easy_a even_o the_o outside_n form_n and_o lifeless_a image_n but_o it_o be_v the_o inward_a life_n the_o spirit_n and_o truth_n which_o be_v the_o excellent_a heavenly_a and_o difficult_a part_n eight_o and_o some_o make_v a_o formality_n and_o a_o snare_n of_o the_o gift_n of_o extemporary_a expression_n and_o by_o a_o preposterous_a care_n to_o avoid_v all_o form_n they_o teach_v they_o not_o these_o catechism_n form_n with_o that_o diligence_n as_o the_o matter_n do_v require_v but_o leave_v their_o mind_n void_a of_o those_o orderly_a well-setled_n second_o notion_n which_o shall_v help_v the_o first_o and_o thus_o while_o some_o neglect_v the_o which_o they_o expect_v in_o the_o people_n but_o as_o riches_n and_o preferment_n and_o honour_n and_o ease_n be_v the_o thing_n which_o they_o most_o seek_v so_o they_o do_v proportion_n and_o choose_v the_o mean_n according_o and_o when_o they_o have_v thus_o make_v themselves_o contemptible_a and_o alienate_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o people_n from_o they_o they_o theâ—_n call_v they_o all_o that_o passion_n can_v suggest_v not_o for_o their_o sin_n against_o god_n but_o for_o cross_v their_o carnal_a end_n and_o interest_n ten_o and_o under_o all_o this_o ignorance_n negligence_n
