of_o antichrist_n after_o he_o be_v reveal_v and_o that_o be_v twofold_a 1._o he_o shall_v be_v consume_v by_o the_o breath_n of_o the_o lord_n mouth_n as_o antichrist_n shall_v in_o a_o special_a manner_n set_v himself_o against_o christ_n so_o will_v christ_n set_v himself_o in_o a_o special_a manner_n against_o he_o and_o then_o most_o when_o he_o be_v great_a neither_o will_v christ_n at_o once_o utter_o confound_v he_o but_o first_o he_o will_v by_o little_a and_o little_o consume_v he_o so_o that_o as_o at_o the_o first_o he_o grow_v by_o little_a and_o little_a to_o his_o greatness_n so_o he_o shall_v by_o little_a and_o little_o be_v consume_v the_o mean_n whereby_o he_o will_v consume_v antichrist_n be_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o his_o mouth_n that_o be_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n see_v psal._n 33.6_o and_o esai_n 11.4_o it_o be_v not_o sword_n and_o spear_n that_o shall_v so_o much_o prevail_v against_o antichrist_n as_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n antichrist_n glory_n shall_v more_o and_o more_o vanish_v the_o more_o that_o it_o prevail_v this_o point_n may_v give_v we_o great_a light_n in_o the_o discovery_n of_o advance_v be_v cast_v into_o that_o burn_a lake_n apoc._n 20.10_o so_o that_o antichrist_n now_o be_v and_o have_v his_o kingdom_n upon_o the_o earth_n and_o shall_v have_v though_o every_o day_n more_o and_o more_o ruinate_a until_o the_o day_n of_o doom_n these_o be_v the_o point_n which_o he_o call_v to_o their_o memory_n which_o former_o he_o have_v teach_v they_o and_o be_v fain_o to_o teach_v they_o over_o again_o and_o to_o apply_v they_o as_o a_o special_a counterpoison_n against_o that_o false_a error_n that_o before_o be_v mention_v concern_v the_o nearness_n of_o christ_n second_o come_v vers._n 9_o who_o come_v be_v by_o the_o work_n of_o satan_n with_o all_o power_n &_o sign_n &_o lie_v wonder_n 10._o and_o in_o all_o deceiveablenes_n of_o unrighteousness_n among_o they_o that_o perish_v the_o apostle_n here_o return_v again_o to_o the_o description_n of_o antichrist_n from_o which_o he_o have_v digress_v show_v the_o mean_n whereby_o this_o man_n of_o sin_n shall_v raise_v himself_o to_o his_o height_n and_o have_v so_o do_v shall_v uphold_v from_o time_n to_o time_n this_o his_o apostatical_a kingdom_n the_o mean_n be_v general_n or_o special_a the_o device_n that_o may_v be_v to_o draw_v man_n from_o the_o truth_n against_o knowledge_n and_o conscience_n it_o shall_v be_v his_o glory_n and_o joy_n to_o seduce_v man_n and_o to_o withdraw_v they_o 1._o to_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n after_o it_o 2._o to_o seek_v and_o search_v after_o the_o knowledge_n of_o it_o 3._o to_o give_v credit_n unto_o it_o 4._o to_o love_v and_o affect_v all_o the_o mean_n whereby_o it_o be_v attain_v 5._o to_o bestow_v cost_v upon_o it_o 6._o to_o rejoice_v in_o it_o and_o all_o those_o that_o love_v it_o 7._o to_o cleave_v and_o stick_v close_a to_o it_o 8._o entertainment_n to_o it_o but_o we_o must_v give_v it_o love_a entertainment_n if_o we_o look_v to_o have_v good_a of_o it_o if_o we_o desire_v to_o be_v eternal_o save_v by_o it_o 2._o that_o not_o to_o entertain_v the_o love_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o not_o to_o accept_v of_o the_o condition_n of_o salvation_n therein_o offer_v be_v a_o fearful_a sign_n of_o one_o that_o shall_v perish_v more_o principal_o we_o be_v here_o to_o note_v 1._o what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o the_o lord_n will_v suffer_v antichrist_n so_o far_o to_o prevail_v over_o the_o christian_a world_n to_o wit_n for_o their_o unkind_a usage_n and_o contempt_n of_o the_o gospel_n all_o despiser_n therefore_o of_o the_o gospel_n that_o entertain_v not_o the_o love_n of_o it_o be_v in_o danger_n to_o be_v deceive_v by_o antichrist_n and_o lie_v open_a to_o his_o sleight_n and_o subtlety_n 2._o that_o the_o best_a counterpoison_v against_o antichrist_n seducement_n be_v to_o entertain_v the_o truth_n as_o be_v aforesaid_a the_o love_n unto_o the_o truth_n shall_v be_v more_o able_a to_o preserve_v we_o and_o arm_v we_o against_o all_o the_o efficacy_n of_o his_o power_n though_o he_o have_v the_o help_n of_o all_o the_o devil_n in_o hell_n then_o if_o a_o man_n have_v the_o great_a learning_n and_o knowledge_n that_o ever_o any_o man_n have_v vers._n 11._o and_o therefore_o shall_v god_n send_v they_o strong_a delusion_n that_o they_o shall_v believe_v lie_n 12._o that_o they_o may_v all_o be_v damn_v that_o believe_v not_o the_o truth_n but_o delight_v in_o unrighteousness_n in_o not_o the_o love_n of_o the_o truth_n 2._o the_o cause_n thereof_o the_o judgement_n be_v this_o god_n shall_v send_v they_o strong_a delusion_n or_o the_o efficacy_n of_o cozenage_n as_o it_o may_v be_v translate_v that_o be_v god_n will_v give_v they_o over_o to_o satan_n and_o antichrist_n and_o will_v give_v they_o liberty_n to_o deceive_v and_o cozen_v their_o soul_n so_o that_o there_o be_v never_o any_o so_o cozen_v and_o delude_v and_o abuse_v as_o they_o shall_v be_v he_o further_o amplifi_v this_o judgement_n by_o the_o effect_n and_o the_o end_n of_o it_o the_o effect_n they_o shall_v believe_v lie_n they_o shall_v in_o that_o manner_n be_v cozen_v that_o they_o shall_v receive_v and_o entertain_v as_o the_o eternal_a truth_n of_o god_n most_o gross_a and_o notorious_a lie_n and_o figment_n absurd_a and_o most_o palpable_a untruth_n and_o fable_n and_o so_o believe_v they_o as_o no_o evidence_n or_o demonstration_n of_o truth_n shall_v be_v able_a to_o draw_v they_o from_o the_o same_o the_o end_n why_o the_o lord_n do_v this_o that_o they_o may_v be_v damn_v be_v by_o that_o mean_n draw_v with_o the_o devil_n and_o antichrist_n into_o everlasting_a perdition_n the_o cause_n of_o this_o fearful_a judgement_n be_v twofold_a 1._o because_o they_o believe_v not_o the_o truth_n i._o will_v give_v no_o credit_n to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o the_o promise_n thereof_o but_o esteem_v they_o as_o so_o many_o toy_n and_o fable_n worthy_a no_o belief_n or_o credit_n 2._o because_o they_o take_v pleasure_n in_o unrighteousness_n i._o take_v such_o delight_n and_o felicity_n in_o those_o sin_n which_o by_o nature_n they_o be_v give_v unto_o that_o rather_o than_o they_o will_v forsake_v and_o forgo_v they_o they_o choose_v rather_o to_o trample_v all_o the_o hope_n that_o the_o gospel_n give_v they_o under_o their_o foot_n so_o affect_v and_o well-pleased_n be_v they_o with_o their_o natural_a corruption_n that_o nothing_o can_v bring_v they_o out_o of_o conceit_n with_o they_o whence_o we_o may_v learn_v 1._o that_o antichrist_n shall_v deceive_v and_o delude_v none_o further_o than_o god_n give_v special_a commission_n god_n have_v a_o special_a guidance_n and_o government_n and_o direction_n in_o the_o seducement_n of_o antichrist_n god_n delude_v not_o but_o yet_o send_v delusion_n and_o if_o he_o send_v they_o not_o they_o can_v come_v he_o leave_v the_o seducer_n and_o the_o seduce_v together_o order_v both_o of_o they_o to_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o justice_n 2._o that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o antichrist_n consist_v of_o a_o company_n of_o cozen_v and_o delude_v people_n therefore_o the_o more_o that_o man_n hate_v to_o be_v deceive_v and_o cozen_v the_o more_o let_v they_o take_v heed_n of_o that_o sin_n that_o lay_v they_o open_v thereunto_o 3._o it_o be_v a_o fearful_a sign_n that_o god_n intend_v to_o damn_v those_o who_o he_o suffer_v to_o be_v so_o powerful_o delude_v by_o antichrist_n for_o who_o he_o mean_v to_o damn_v he_o be_v wont_a to_o give_v up_o to_o a_o reprobate_a sense_n that_o which_o they_o be_v like_o soon_o to_o come_v to_o that_o be_v so_o powerful_o delude_v and_o thus_o of_o the_o prophecy_n of_o antichrist_n and_o of_o the_o apostasy_n that_o by_o his_o mean_n be_v to_o be_v effect_v before_o the_o latter_a day_n the_o branch_n whereof_o together_o with_o some_o particular_a use_n we_o have_v lay_v open_a before_o now_o follow_v the_o main_a use_n which_o be_v this_o to_o take_v heed_n of_o this_o apostasy_n and_o of_o that_o man_n of_o sin_n which_o in_o the_o same_o shall_v be_v reveal_v now_o this_o that_o we_o may_v the_o better_a do_v we_o must_v learn_v so_o far_o as_o this_o prophecy_n will_v help_v we_o to_o find_v out_o 1._o where_o this_o apostasy_n be_v 2._o where_o we_o may_v find_v this_o man_n of_o sinne._n first_o for_o the_o find_v out_o of_o this_o apostasy_n we_o must_v consider_v what_o property_n and_o note_n to_o discover_v the_o same_o be_v lay_v down_o in_o this_o prophecy_n and_o then_o see_v whether_o they_o agree_v to_o any_o state_n or_o condition_n of_o people_n that_o either_o have_v be_v or_o yet_o be_v in_o the_o world_n for_o there_o need_v be_v no_o question_n but_o unto_o what_o state_n or_o condition_n of_o people_n so_o ever_o these_o rule_n shall_v agree_v that_o there_o this_o apostasy_n be_v 1._o this_o no_o more_o affect_v with_o any_o good_a receive_v from_o they_o then_o with_o a_o straw_n or_o rush_n what_o a_o monster_n of_o child_n will_v every_o one_o judge_v this_o to_o be_v be_v thou_o the_o father_n or_o mother_n of_o such_o a_o child_n what_o will_v thou_o do_v very_o such_o child_n be_v most_o of_o we_o unto_o our_o god_n we_o live_v in_o this_o world_n which_o be_v the_o house_n of_o our_o god_n yea_o in_o his_o church_n which_o be_v his_o presence-chamber_n no_o earthly_a father_n can_v possible_o show_v more_o kindness_n to_o his_o child_n than_o our_o heavenly_a father_n do_v unto_o we_o nor_o can_v so_o much_o by_o his_o kindness_n manifest_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o father_n as_o god_n do_v unto_o we_o and_o unto_o all_o mankind_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o we_o live_v as_o though_o we_o know_v he_o not_o we_o never_o look_v after_o he_o nor_o regard_v he_o we_o be_v no_o more_o delight_v with_o his_o presence_n affect_v with_o his_o kindness_n nor_o more_o studious_a to_o please_v he_o no_o more_o fearful_a to_o displease_v he_o then_o if_o he_o be_v no_o body_n or_o worse_o than_o the_o worst_a of_o all_o creature_n as_o if_o he_o be_v one_o that_o we_o never_o receive_v nor_o expect_v the_o least_o good_a at_o his_o hand_n or_o one_o that_o we_o will_v not_o be_v any_o way_n behold_v unto_o though_o we_o may_v the_o more_o he_o offer_v we_o mean_n to_o know_v his_o majesty_n power_n goodness_n the_o more_o we_o shut_v our_o eye_n against_o they_o please_v and_o delight_v ourselves_o in_o our_o ignorance_n as_o a_o matter_n of_o great_a advantage_n unto_o us._n this_o be_v the_o condition_n and_o estate_n of_o the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o world_n if_o you_o look_v into_o their_o life_n and_o conversation_n they_o be_v as_o it_o be_v without_o god_n in_o the_o world_n as_o man_n that_o have_v not_o the_o least_o sense_n or_o apprehension_n of_o a_o god_n 2.12_o or_o have_v never_o hear_v of_o he_o or_o that_o all_o that_o they_o have_v hear_v of_o he_o be_v but_o fable_n be_v it_o any_o marvel_n then_o if_o the_o lord_n have_v show_v himself_o so_o kind_a and_o love_a a_o father_n unto_o all_o mankind_n shall_v be_v severe_o avenge_v of_o such_o as_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o so_o many_o mean_n will_v not_o know_v he_o oh_o let_v the_o consideration_n of_o this_o move_v every_o one_o of_o we_o to_o bewail_v our_o ignorance_n and_o to_o seek_v after_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n above_o all_o thing_n for_o if_o we_o will_v not_o know_v he_o in_o his_o goodness_n in_o this_o life_n we_o shall_v feel_v he_o in_o his_o wrath_n in_o another_o life_n ignorance_n of_o god_n in_o this_o day_n of_o doom_n will_v be_v no_o plea_n for_o we_o for_o it_o shall_v be_v one_o of_o the_o article_n of_o condemnation_n against_o we_o that_o we_o know_v not_o god_n the_o second_o sort_n of_o person_n that_o christ_n will_v come_v in_o flame_a fire_n to_o be_v avenge_v of_o be_v such_o as_o obey_v not_o his_o gospel_n i._o such_o as_o will_v not_o accept_v of_o those_o condition_n of_o salvation_n that_o be_v offer_v in_o the_o gospel_n in_o the_o gospel_n everlasting_a salvation_n be_v offer_v to_o all_o sinner_n that_o will_v believe_v in_o christ_n forsake_v their_o sin_n and_o yield_v obedience_n to_o the_o ordinance_n of_o jesus_n christ_n set_v down_o in_o the_o write_n of_o the_o prophet_n and_o apostle_n when_o therefore_o god_n shall_v out_o of_o his_o word_n convince_v our_o conscience_n that_o we_o be_v sinner_n and_o have_v offend_v his_o majesty_n by_o our_o sin_n and_o when_o god_n shall_v offer_v to_o be_v reconcile_v unto_o we_o to_o pardon_v and_o forgive_v our_o sin_n to_o save_v our_o soul_n from_o hell_n yea_o to_o bestow_v everlasting_a happiness_n in_o heaven_n upon_o we_o if_o so_o be_v we_o will_v forsake_v our_o sin_n acknowledge_v christ_n jesus_n for_o our_o lord_n and_o redeemer_n and_o be_v subject_a to_o his_o discipline_n when_o god_n shall_v send_v to_o this_o end_n his_o minister_n messenger_n and_o ambassador_n to_o offer_v unto_o we_o these_o condition_n yea_o to_o entreat_v and_o beseech_v the_o acceptance_n of_o this_o grace_n and_o yet_o we_o will_v not_o accept_v of_o they_o we_o will_v not_o have_v christ_n jesus_n to_o reign_v and_o rule_v over_o we_o we_o will_v not_o whatsoever_o follow_v upon_o it_o forsake_v such_o and_o such_o sin_n but_o whether_o god_n will_v save_v or_o not_o save_v we_o we_o be_v resolve_v upon_o our_o own_o course_n and_o if_o we_o may_v not_o be_v save_v without_o any_o such_o condition_n we_o will_v not_o be_v behold_v to_o god_n for_o our_o salvation_n but_o will_v put_v it_o to_o the_o adventure_n either_o to_o have_v it_o upon_o what_o condition_n we_o our_o self_n please_v or_o go_v without_o it_o this_o be_v to_o disobey_v the_o gospel_n and_o to_o trample_v the_o blood_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n under_o our_o foot_n this_o be_v direct_o to_o sin_n against_o christ_n jesus_n and_o therefore_o such_o of_o we_o can_v expect_v no_o other_o doom_n from_o christ_n at_o that_o day_n but_o fearful_a vengeance_n for_o upon_o who_o shall_v he_o avenge_v himself_o if_o not_o upon_o they_o which_o can_v content_v themselves_o to_o have_v sin_v against_o god_n and_o so_o to_o have_v provoke_v he_o but_o despise_v the_o mean_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o favour_n when_o they_o be_v offer_v purpose_v still_o to_o continue_v in_o their_o sin_n whatsoever_o come_v of_o it_o this_o be_v the_o fearful_a sin_n of_o many_o that_o live_v in_o the_o church_n of_o god_n
