circumcise_v so_o a_o church_n may_v be_v a_o church_n now_o and_o yet_o baptism_n for_o a_o time_n want_v though_o it_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v and_o then_o baptism_n be_v not_o the_o form_n of_o the_o church_n a_o three_o reason_n i_o give_v as_o he_o say_v for_o i_o can_v remember_v i_o use_v a_o word_n of_o it_o be_v this_o that_o which_o be_v a_o adjunct_n to_o a_o thing_n can_v be_v the_o form_n of_o it_o but_o baptism_n be_v a_o adjunct_n of_o a_o church_n ergo._n to_o this_o he_o answer_v this_o be_v not_o against_o his_o question_n as_o he_o state_v it_o because_o that_o which_o be_v a_o adjunct_n may_v be_v a_o mean_n of_o form_v the_o thing_n to_o which_o it_o be_v adjoin_v and_o so_o baptism_n be_v reply_n first_o how_o he_o state_v his_o question_n be_v nothing_o to_o i_o his_o answer_n must_v be_v to_o the_o question_n as_o i_o state_v it_o see_v he_o take_v upon_o he_o to_o refute_v it_o in_o alter_v the_o state_n of_o the_o question_n therefore_o he_o show_v he_o have_v nothing_o to_o say_v against_o it_o as_o i_o set_v it_o down_o but_o second_o i_o grant_v a_o adjunct_n may_v be_v a_o mean_n of_o form_v the_o subject_n so_o as_o it_o be_v by_o the_o adjunct_n and_o without_o that_o adjunct_n the_o subject_n can_v not_o be_v so_o form_v and_o denominate_v as_o freedom_n be_v a_o adjunct_n to_o man_n and_o be_v necessary_a to_o make_v he_o be_v and_o name_v a_o free_a man_n but_o it_o be_v not_o necessary_a to_o make_v he_o a_o man_n he_o may_v be_v a_o man_n without_o it_o so_o baptism_n be_v necessary_a to_o form_v a_o church_n or_o member_n to_o be_v and_o name_v a_o baptize_v church_n and_o member_n but_o it_o concurre_v not_o therefore_o to_o make_v a_o church_n or_o member_n to_o be_v a_o church_n or_o member_n and_o therefore_o that_o form_n whereby_o it_o be_v and_o call_v a_o church_n or_o member_n arise_v from_o something_o else_o a_o subject_n may_v have_v twenty_o adjunct_n but_o not_o one_o nor_o all_o make_v it_o a_o subject_n that_o it_o be_v before_o the_o adjunct_n and_o without_o they_o a_o 4_o reason_n that_o which_o be_v the_o seal_n of_o the_o covenant_n can_v be_v the_o form_n of_o the_o church_n but_o baptism_n be_v the_o seal_n of_o the_o covenant_n ergo._n his_o answer_n be_v that_o the_o seal_n of_o the_o covenant_n may_v be_v a_o mean_n to_o constitute_v and_o put_v the_o church_n into_o a_o outward_a visible_a form_n and_o refer_v to_o his_o five_o argument_n where_o he_o have_v speak_v something_o before_o reply_n he_o answer_v to_o neither_o proposition_n here_o that_o baptism_n be_v the_o seal_n of_o god_n outward_a covenant_n can_v be_v deny_v that_o baptism_n therefore_o can_v be_v the_o form_n of_o a_o visible_a church_n be_v evident_a as_o a_o seal_n can_v be_v the_o form_n of_o that_o place_n or_o honour_v which_o a_o man_n have_v by_o the_o king_n grant_v under_o writing_n it_o be_v the_o grant_n and_o contract_n that_o make_v the_o man_n to_o honour_v this_o state_n or_o that_o from_o the_o king_n and_o not_o the_o seal_n though_o the_o seal_n be_v useful_a and_o necessary_a so_o here_o baptism_n make_v not_o the_o church_n to_o be_v the_o church_n but_o it_o be_v add_v to_o god_n covenant_n make_v with_o the_o church_n before_o whereby_o it_o be_v a_o church_n and_o this_o seal_n add_v to_o the_o covenant_n make_v for_o confirmation_n without_o which_o the_o state_n will_v be_v the_o same_o though_o not_o so_o authentical_a to_o we_o in_o regard_n of_o our_o weakness_n for_o his_o reference_n see_v my_o answer_n to_o it_o a_o five_o reason_n that_o which_o remain_v when_o a_o man_n be_v excommunicate_a and_o be_v not_o to_o be_v administer_v to_o restore_v he_o again_o when_o cut_v off_o that_o can_v be_v the_o form_n of_o deny_v this_o he_o must_v affirm_v that_o baptism_n do_v not_o remain_v where_o a_o man_n be_v no_o member_n by_o excommunication_n and_o such_o a_o man_n must_v be_v baptize_v that_o he_o may_v be_v restore_v again_o to_o make_v this_o good_a he_o give_v a_o long_a answer_n which_o i_o contract_v into_o these_o proposition_n first_o that_o by_o faith_n a_o man_n possess_v christ_n and_o so_o baptism_n and_o membership_n with_o the_o church_n second_o that_o some_o have_v true_a save_a faith_n and_o so_o they_o have_v christ_n baptism_n and_o membership_n in_o the_o truth_n of_o all_o and_o saving_o and_o some_o have_v but_o seem_a faith_n and_o so_o have_v christ_n baptism_n and_o membership_n not_o in_o truth_n but_o seem_o yet_o account_v by_o other_o true_a that_o can_v discern_v they_o to_o be_v but_o seem_v three_o that_o a_o true_a believer_n excommunicate_v for_o sin_n be_v not_o real_o deprive_v of_o faith_n christ_n baptism_n and_o membership_n but_o seem_v only_o to_o be_v cut_v off_o but_o he_o that_o seem_v to_o have_v faith_n but_o have_v not_o indeed_o excommunicate_a for_o sin_n be_v cut_v whole_o and_o real_o from_o christ_n etc._n etc._n

which_o he_o only_o seem_v to_o have_v and_o no_o faith_n christ_n etc._n etc._n can_v be_v say_v to_o remain_v be_v neither_o believer_n nor_o baptize_v nor_o member_n indeed_o because_o he_o forsake_v the_o ground_n and_o end_n of_o his_o baptism_n he_o forsake_v baptism_n which_o be_v administer_v upon_o these_o ground_n and_o for_o these_o end_n four_o he_o that_o by_o the_o renewall_n his_o baptism_n and_o membership_n again_o reply_n grant_v the_o first_o proposition_n that_o faith_n possess_v a_o man_n of_o christ_n etc._n etc._n and_o likewise_o this_o in_o the_o second_o that_o some_o have_v faith_n in_o christ_n etc._n etc._n real_o and_o save_v in_o the_o truth_n of_o all_o but_o where_o he_o say_v some_o have_v but_o seem_a faith_n and_o yet_o baptize_v etc._n etc._n and_o seem_v to_o have_v christ_n baptism_n and_o membership_n but_o have_v none_o in_o truth_n i_o deny_v that_o these_o be_v seem_v unless_o as_o oppose_v to_o save_v spiritual_a and_o supernatural_a thus_o indeed_o many_o have_v not_o nor_o can_v any_o have_v these_o thing_n but_o only_o elect_a person_n and_o so_o their_o say_v and_o all_o be_v seem_v but_o faith_n consider_v in_o estate_n remain_v with_o god_n inalterable_a and_o he_o that_o seem_v to_o have_v save_v faith_n etc._n etc._n but_o have_v not_o be_v not_o deprive_v of_o that_o faith_n he_o have_v by_o excommunication_n nor_o cut_v off_o otherwise_o from_o his_o baptism_n and_o membership_n than_o the_o former_a in_o foro_fw-la humano_fw-la be_v thing_n that_o he_o have_v as_o real_o as_o the_o again_o that_o be_v in_o true_a meaning_n to_o a_o entire_a stand_n in_o the_o profession_n of_o faith_n return_v to_o his_o baptism_n and_o membership_n again_o i_o grant_v that_o by_o renewall_n of_o repentance_n he_o be_v to_o be_v restore_v from_o under_o the_o censure_n unto_o communion_n with_o the_o church_n again_o and_o hence_o i_o gather_v that_o faith_n and_o repentance_n profess_v be_v the_o mean_n whereby_o he_o be_v state_v in_o the_o covenant_n and_o membership_n and_o therefore_o now_o require_v of_o he_o again_o to_o set_v he_o in_o his_o former_a state_n and_o not_o baptism_n which_o certain_o will_v have_v be_v under_o some_o prejudice_n by_o excommunication_n and_o must_v have_v be_v clear_v as_o well_o as_o his_o profession_n if_o that_o have_v constitute_v his_o membership_n especial_o if_o he_o have_v but_o seem_a faith_n baptism_n and_o membership_n before_o for_o let_v i_o put_v this_o case_n which_o certain_o may_v and_o sometime_o do_v fall_v out_o that_o a_o seem_a believer_n have_v seem_a baptism_n etc._n etc._n to_o speak_v his_o language_n be_v excommunicate_v and_o so_o be_v cut_v off_o from_o all_o that_o he_o only_o seem_v to_o have_v he_o have_v no_o baptism_n and_o membership_n indeed_o but_o seem_v to_o have_v and_o from_o all_o that_o be_v real_o and_o whole_o cut_v off_o nothing_o remain_v this_o penson_n be_v not_o before_o real_o convert_v but_o under_o the_o state_n of_o censure_n he_o be_v real_o convert_v and_o give_v full_a satisfaction_n to_o the_o church_n shall_v he_o be_v restore_v to_o his_o seem_a baptism_n and_o membership_n that_o he_o have_v before_o by_o his_o seem_a faith_n rather_o he_o can_v be_v restore_v to_o that_o seem_a state_n because_o he_o say_v nothing_o remain_v or_o shall_v he_o have_v worth_a the_o recover_a by_o his_o repentance_n but_o must_v have_v a_o real_a baptism_n add_v to_o he_o for_o his_o real_a faith_n instead_o of_o that_o seem_a baptism_n that_o he_o have_v by_o his_o
