lord_n jesus_n christ_n so_o that_o he_o be_v both_o food_n and_o spiritual_a clothing_n three_o bread_n though_o it_o satisfy_v your_o hunger_n for_o the_o present_a yet_o it_o can_v so_o take_v away_o your_o hunger_n that_o you_o shall_v hunger_n no_o more_o if_o it_o satisfy_v hunger_n to_o day_n you_o will_v be_v hungry_a again_o to_o morrow_n but_o now_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n do_v or_o his_o right_a eye_n and_o when_o he_o can_v practise_v every_o duty_n that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n command_v though_o it_o be_v never_o so_o difficult_a as_o for_o example_n the_o duty_n of_o mortification_n and_o self-denial_n and_o contempt_n of_o the_o world_n when_o he_o can_v purify_v his_o heart_n by_o believe_v and_o obey_v the_o truth_n 1_o pet._n 1.22_o see_v you_o have_v purify_v your_o soul_n in_o obey_v the_o truth_n through_o the_o spirit_n and_o it_o be_v say_v of_o many_o of_o the_o priest_n that_o they_o be_v obedient_a to_o the_o faith_n act_v 6.7_o and_o st._n paul_n to_o this_o certainty_n of_o knowledge_n indeed_o and_o thus_o you_o see_v the_o description_n of_o it_o and_o have_v the_o point_v open_v now_o let_v i_o make_v application_n of_o it_o use_v 1_o if_o this_o be_v a_o certain_a truth_n that_o they_o that_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n shall_v not_o only_o know_v more_o of_o god_n
will_n but_o they_o shall_v know_v it_o more_o assure_o they_o shall_v be_v sure_a of_o what_o they_o know_v and_o shall_v attain_v to_o this_o certainty_n of_o knowledge_n that_o i_o have_v be_v full_a assurance_n of_o understanding_n this_o certainty_n of_o knowledge_n that_o the_o text_n speak_v of_o if_o any_o man_n will_v do_v his_o will_n he_o shall_v know_v of_o the_o doctrine_n whether_o it_o be_v of_o god_n or_o whether_o i_o speak_v of_o myself_o all_o the_o knowledge_n that_o they_o have_v of_o the_o scripture_n it_o may_v be_v it_o be_v but_o a_o opinion_n or_o a_o conjecture_n or_o a_o guess_n a_o notional_a knowledge_n a_o knowledge_n that_o be_v take_v up_o upon_o tradition_n or_o trust_v not_o that_o they_o have_v any_o assurance_n of_o it_o in_o their_o own_o heart_n and_o understanding_n all_o the_o knowledge_n of_o sceptic_n those_o that_o you_o call_v seeker_n nullifidian_o that_o believe_v nothing_o all_o who_o profession_n be_v to_o profess_v nothing_o all_o their_o knowledge_n be_v but_o a_o mere_a opinion_n the_o truth_n be_v they_o have_v no_o knowledge_n at_o all_o if_o they_o do_v know_v the_o truth_n the_o truth_n will_v make_v they_o free_a if_o they_o have_v know_v the_o truth_n they_o will_v have_v be_v root_v and_o fettle_v and_o establish_v in_o it_o they_o will_v part_v with_o their_o life_n rather_o than_o part_v with_o the_o truth_n a_o second_o lesson_n you_o may_v learn_v hence_o be_v this_o it_o let_v we_o see_v what_o the_o reason_n be_v of_o all_o that_o atheism_n and_o looseness_n and_o libertinism_n that_o be_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n and_o practice_n of_o man_n at_o this_o day_n the_o reason_n be_v because_o they_o never_o attain_v to_o any_o certainty_n of_o knowledge_n in_o the_o not_o believe_v they_o and_o because_o they_o do_v not_o know_v and_o believe_v they_o therefore_o there_o be_v in_o they_o a_o evil_a heart_n of_o unbelief_n to_o depart_v from_o the_o live_a god_n the_o first_o step_n of_o the_o soul_n departure_n from_o god_n be_v by_o unbelief_n so_o the_o first_o step_n of_o the_o soul_n approach_v to_o god_n be_v by_o faith_n unbelief_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o other_o sin_n a_o man_n that_o do_v not_o believe_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n to_o embrace_v they_o nor_o the_o threaten_n of_o god_n to_o fear_v they_o nor_o the_o precept_n of_o god_n manifestation_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v give_v to_o every_o man_n to_o profit_v withal_o second_o this_o certainty_n of_o knowledge_n may_v be_v know_v by_o the_o property_n of_o it_o i_o shall_v
