interest_n unless_o we_o make_v out_o before_o man_n as_o plain_a a_o appearance_n of_o truth_n in_o the_o exchange_n as_o there_o be_v of_o interest_n that_o we_o may_v not_o seem_v to_o hold_v it_o true_a because_o it_o be_v for_o our_o interest_n or_o to_o be_v lead_v more_o by_o interest_n than_o we_o be_v by_o truth_n and_o therefore_o when_o once_o good_a man_n see_v their_o error_n it_o high_o concern_v both_o themselves_o and_o religion_n instant_o to_o renounce_v they_o not_o for_o advantage_n but_o for_o the_o truth_n sake_n and_o not_o stay_v till_o the_o course_n of_o this_o world_n turn_v and_o they_o may_v hope_v to_o get_v as_o much_o by_o disclaim_v as_o before_o they_o have_v by_o profess_v they_o for_o otherwise_o the_o world_n will_v be_v but_o too_o apt_a to_o judge_v they_o not_o religious_a and_o conscientious_a but_o secular_a and_o self-ended_n penitent_n who_o will_v never_o see_v and_o repent_v of_o their_o error_n and_o evil-doing_n whilst_o they_o bring_v they_o in_o present_a advantage_n or_o who_o reason_n of_o truth_n and_o duty_n can_v never_o bring_v to_o repentance_n till_o reason_n of_o fleshly_a interest_n strike_v in_o therewith_o but_o who_o can_v ready_o repent_v of_o any_o way_n as_o soon_o as_o once_o they_o turn_v to_o loss_n and_o they_o be_v evident_o call_v to_o suffer_v for_o they_o and_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n we_o must_v be_v wary_a how_o we_o censure_v other_o when_o we_o see_v they_o change_v from_o their_o former_a judgement_n and_o stay_v to_o heaâ—_n their_o reason_n before_o we_o presume_v to_o tax_v their_o sincerity_n in_o the_o exchange_n when_o the_o interest_n be_v apparent_a the_o bystander_n have_v a_o appearance_n of_o interest_n at_o first_o sight_n but_o have_v not_o the_o appearance_n for_o truth_n till_o the_o person_n that_o make_v the_o change_n have_v opportunity_n to_o make_v know_v to_o they_o how_o the_o new_a truth_n appear_v to_o he_o this_o indeed_o be_v a_o temptation_n to_o those_o that_o take_v up_o with_o what_o come_v next_o and_o be_v confident_a of_o the_o evidence_n of_o their_o own_o and_o the_o little_a appearance_n on_o the_o other_o side_n to_o be_v too_o often_o hasty_a and_o hard_o in_o their_o censure_n but_o one_o man_n must_v not_o be_v rasâ—_n to_o judge_v of_o the_o appearance_n of_o truth_n to_o another_o but_o wait_v to_o hear_v they_o from_o himself_o and_o after_o 〈◊〉_d have_v hear_v they_o not_o present_o conclude_v a_o way_n can_v not_o thereby_o appear_v true_a to_o he_o because_o on_o the_o same_o evidence_n it_o do_v not_o nor_o real_o aught_o to_o appear_v so_o to_o himself_o that_o the_o thing_n be_v not_o true_a he_o may_v safe_o say_v not_o that_o the_o other_o can_v not_o think_v it_o so_o for_o all_o man_n judgement_n particular_a person_n especial_o whilst_o they_o keep_v true_a to_o their_o new_a principle_n not_o still_o as_o necessity_n call_v out-running_a their_o own_o pretence_n it_o be_v good_a and_o safe_a ordinary_o to_o be_v slow_a in_o pass_v our_o judgement_n and_o leave_v they_o to_o their_o own_o judge_n who_o see_v their_o heart_n and_o to_o who_o each_o of_o they_o stand_v or_o fall_v but_o in_o general_n when_o the_o argument_n of_o truth_n be_v not_o as_o apparent_a as_o those_o of_o interest_n in_o the_o change_n and_o the_o party_n by_o all_o their_o study_n can_v never_o see_v the_o truth_n pretend_v whilst_o they_o be_v like_a to_o lose_v by_o it_o but_o see_v it_o clear_o yea_o and_o that_o perhaps_o without_o much_o study_n when_o once_o it_o make_v for_o their_o profit_n the_o world_n be_v very_o suspicious_a that_o it_o be_v interest_n more_o than_o evidence_n which_o open_v their_o eye_n and_o a_o great_a scandal_n come_v upon_o religion_n by_o such_o change_n such_o man_n be_v wont_a to_o preach_v up_o say_v the_o world_n what_o stand_v they_o in_o stead_n not_o what_o they_o themselves_o real_o believe_v and_o think_v all_o colour_n whereof_o st_n paul_n religion_n and_o may_v cause_v joy_n to_o the_o friend_n and_o wellwisher_n of_o religion_n tho_o if_o it_o be_v do_v with_o a_o evil_a mind_n it_o be_v ill_a for_o he_o that_o do_v it_o and_o so_o may_v cause_v sorrow_n in_o behalf_n of_o the_o person_n but_o when_o a_o ill_a thing_n be_v do_v that_o wound_v religion_n itself_o and_o no_o man_n who_o set_v a_o just_a price_n upon_o religion_n can_v think_v any_o worldly_a gain_n a_o sufficient_a recompense_n for_o that_o and_o therefore_o a_o projector_n for_o religion_n or_o one_o who_o be_v spiritual_o wise_a can_v never_o for_o any_o with_o his_o do_v of_o his_o duty_n but_o to_o please_v god_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n though_o for_o that_o all_o the_o world_n shall_v be_v displease_v with_o he_o have_v man_n stand_v in_o of_o solicitude_n the_o three_o and_o last_o thing_n propose_v at_o first_o to_o set_v off_o the_o nature_n and_o office_n of_o spiritual_a prudence_n be_v to_o show_v its_o part_n in_o worldly_a matter_n or_o how_o after_o its_o have_v be_v thus_o wise_a as_o be_v declare_v for_o the_o thing_n of_o religion_n itself_o as_o for_o all_o other_o inferior_a and_o worldly_a prudence_n in_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n it_o so_o order_v the_o end_n and_o overrule_n the_o way_n thereof_o as_o to_o keep_v they_o subservient_fw-fr to_o religion_n or_o as_o best_o become_v christian_n worldly_n prudence_n be_v to_o be_v wise_a for_o the_o end_n of_o this_o world_n as_o to_o preserve_v our_o life_n here_o and_o the_o comfort_n and_o enjoyment_n thereof_o our_o property_n power_n external_n quiet_n to_o secure_v or_o augment_v these_o or_o other_o earthly_a good_a thing_n to_o ourselves_o our_o friend_n and_o family_n to_o the_o church_n or_o state_n all_o these_o be_v worldly_a ends._n and_o to_o be_v wise_a for_o they_o be_v worldly_a prudence_n and_o this_o we_o have_v all_o need_n of_o here_o because_o we_o be_v member_n of_o this_o world_n need_v worldly_a thing_n and_o be_v twist_v in_o worldly_a relation_n good_a man_n and_o good_a christian_n as_o well_o as_o other_o but_o though_o we_o live_v in_o this_o world_n we_o aim_v at_o a_o better_a world_n we_o be_v keep_v alive_a by_o worldly_a thing_n but_o we_o live_v for_o better_a even_o for_o heavenly_a thing_n which_o religion_n show_v and_o which_o the_o way_n thereof_o will_v procure_v for_o we_o so_o that_o the_o wisdom_n of_o religion_n must_v limit_v and_o over-rule_v we_o in_o all_o the_o act_n of_o wisdom_n and_o prudence_n we_o show_v about_o the_o lesser_a and_o inferior_a thing_n of_o this_o life_n the_o flesh_n must_v be_v subject_a to_o the_o spirit_n and_o the_o wisdom_n of_o this_o world_n to_o the_o wisdom_n of_o the_o next_o now_o concern_v this_o overrule_a influence_n of_o spiritual_a wisdom_n in_o all_o inferior_a and_o worldly_a deliberation_n i_o shall_v note_v these_o two_o thing_n 1._o first_o that_o the_o rule_n of_o religion_n be_v the_o true_a wisdom_n as_o for_o the_o next_o so_o even_o for_o the_o end_n of_o this_o world_n they_o be_v real_o the_o most_o prudent_a way_n and_o best_a choose_v for_o all_o the_o great_a and_o desirable_a purpose_n of_o this_o life_n so_o that_o have_v god_n leave_v they_o free_a and_o say_v nothing_o of_o they_o their_o own_o usefulness_n will_v have_v recommend_v they_o to_o every_o discreet_a man_n and_o true_a worldly_a wisdom_n will_v have_v say_v the_o same_o that_o duty_n and_o religion_n now_o say_v of_o they_o no_o other_o fancy_a way_n and_o least_o of_o all_o their_o contrary_n can_v so_o well_o have_v serve_v the_o true_a end_n of_o live_v here_o as_o these_o do_v other_o way_n perhaps_o may_v seem_v more_o serviceable_a and_o fit_a to_o be_v take_v up_o for_o these_o end_n at_o some_o one_o particular_a turn_n but_o none_o of_o they_o be_v so_o fit_a and_o conducive_a if_o take_v into_o constant_a course_n and_o make_v a_o general_n rule_n of_o live_v and_o man_n be_v make_v to_o live_v by_o rule_n and_o their_o happiness_n to_o be_v seek_v by_o rule_n without_o which_o there_o will_v be_v nothing_o but_o utmost_a uncertainty_n and_o confusion_n which_o will_v spoil_v all_o happiness_n and_o prove_v the_o great_a misery_n here_o on_o earth_n they_o be_v make_v to_o desire_v and_o to_o seek_v what_o be_v best_a for_o the_o end_n of_o life_n not_o only_o in_o some_o one_o or_o few_o action_n but_o in_o the_o tenor_n of_o life_n not_o only_o what_o will_v happen_v to_o promote_v they_o on_o some_o accidental_a turn_n but_o what_o be_v fit_a to_o do_v so_o ordinary_o and_o at_o all_o time_n though_o by_o chance_n on_o some_o particular_a turn_n it_o may_v admit_v of_o a_o exception_n and_o this_o general_n and_o constant_a service_n must_v be_v by_o rule_n which_o be_v general_a thing_n and_o make_v to_o direct_v not_o only_o as_o occasion_n serve_v but_o that_o all_o other_o man_n may_v know_v where_o to_o have_v we_o and_o we_o know_v where_o to_o be_v
