when_o as_o the_o hart_n bend_v itself_o altogether_o to_o mischief_n and_o iniquity_n be_v not_o this_o i_o pray_v you_o to_o mock_v god_n what_o other_o thing_n else_o be_v it_o let_v we_o then_o learn_v to_o say_v with_o david_n o_o lord_n i_o have_v choose_v the_o way_n of_o truth_n and_o have_v sticken_fw-mi to_o thy_o testimony_n when_o he_o say_v that_o he_o have_v choose_v the_o way_n of_o truth_n he_o mean_v that_o he_o desined_a nothing_o else_o but_o to_o follow_v that_o which_o be_v right_a and_o good_a as_o god_n have_v show_v it_o unto_o he_o when_o he_o say_v that_o he_o cleave_v to_o the_o testimony_n of_o god_n he_o declare_v what_o truth_n that_o be_v whereof_o he_o make_v mention_v for_o man_n many_o time_n imagine_v unto_o themselves_o certain_a fantasy_n in_o their_o head_n and_o think_v the_o same_o to_o be_v the_o best_a &_o most_o sure_a foundation_n in_o the_o world_n and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o other_o reason_n truth_n nor_o wisdom_n but_o that_o which_o they_o have_v conceive_v in_o their_o own_o brain_n let_v we_o now_o beware_v of_o that_o and_o assure_v ourselves_o that_o truth_n self_n be_v enclose_v within_o the_o word_n of_o god_n &_o that_o that_o be_v it_o which_o we_o must_v seek_v and_o not_o to_o have_v we_o think_v that_o to_o be_v the_o truth_n which_o we_o in_o our_o own_o fantasy_n do_v judge_v too_o be_v good_a but_o even_o then_o have_v we_o choose_v the_o way_n of_o truth_n when_o as_o we_o shall_v stick_v to_o the_o testimony_n of_o god_n when_o we_o shall_v understand_v and_o know_v that_o it_o be_v he_o only_a which_o may_v lead_v we_o straight_o and_o that_o we_o have_v do_v this_o honour_n unto_o his_o word_n to_o be_v rule_v thereby_o all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n loe_o how_o we_o shall_v follow_v the_o way_n of_o truth_n now_o when_o david_n have_v make_v all_o these_o protestation_n he_o desire_v that_o he_o may_v be_v confound_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v my_o god_n since_o that_o it_o be_v so_o that_o i_o desire_v to_o obey_v thou_o suffer_v i_o not_o now_o to_o be_v confound_v that_o i_o be_v not_o scorn_v and_o suppose_v to_o be_v as_o a_o vacabonde_n and_o without_o shall_v have_v prefer_v the_o same_o before_o all_o our_o juste_n and_o pleasure_n yea_o above_o all_o whatsoever_o shall_v seem_v good_a and_o right_n in_o our_o own_o eye_n if_o we_o shall_v then_o i_o say_v be_v put_v to_o confusion_n and_o shame_n what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o when_o we_o shall_v lay_v the_o rain_n of_o the_o bridle_n in_o the_o neck_n of_o all_o our_o desire_n and_o take_v from_o god_n all_o his_o authority_n deserve_v we_o not_o to_o be_v utter_o confound_v no_o doubt_v we_o do_v so_o then_o let_v we_o way_n the_o first_o part_n of_o this_o doctrine_n that_o we_o must_v not_o let_v our_o tongue_n walk_v against_o god_n for_o he_o know_v how_o to_o be_v right_a well_o avenge_v thereof_o how_o many_o do_v we_o see_v at_o this_o day_n too_o become_v after_o eight_o verse_n apart_o david_n say_v i_o will_v run_v the_o way_n of_o thy_o comaundement_n when_o thou_o shall_v enlarge_v my_o heart_n when_o he_o say_v that_o when_o god_n have_v set_v his_o as_o we_o be_v fast_o shut_v up_o we_o can_v once_o stir_v out_o of_o the_o place_n to_o go_v on_o forward_o in_o the_o way_n of_o salvation_n and_o how_o can_v we_o then_o run_v when_o as_o he_o shall_v have_v set_v our_o heart_n at_o liberty_n to_o wit_n that_o he_o shall_v have_v so_o dispose_v &_o order_v we_o as_o that_o we_o shall_v free_o bend_v ourselves_o &_o sully_v &_o whole_o yield_v our_o affection_n unto_o he_o for_o otherwise_o we_o have_v our_o heart_n fast_o shut_v up_o shall_v always_o become_v the_o bondslave_n of_o sin_n it_o be_v very_o true_a hat_n while_o we_o be_v in_o this_o world_n we_o never_o run_v so_o fast_o ne_o yet_o so_o perfect_o as_o be_v require_v yea_o we_o shall_v many_o time_n go_v as_o it_o be_v halt_v where_o in_o deed_n we_o shall_v obey_v he_o and_o too_o glorify_v his_o holy_a name_n and_o according_a to_o this_o doctrine_n let_v we_o prostrate_v ourselves_o before_o the_o face_n of_o our_o good_a god_n in_o acknowledge_v our_o sin_n beseech_v he_o that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o to_o make_v we_o to_o feel_v our_o sin_n and_o iniquity_n more_o and_o more_o &_o that_o it_o will_v also_o please_v he_o to_o make_v we_o so_o to_o remember_v they_o that_o we_o may_v learn_v to_o acknowledge_v how_o necessary_a it_o be_v for_o we_o to_o be_v more_o &_o more_o increase_v &_o confirm_v in_o his_o grace_n which_o he_o bestow_v upon_o we_o to_o the_o end_n that_o in_o allow_v &_o esteem_v of_o his_o benefit_n as_o it_o become_v we_o we_o may_v render_v unto_o he_o our_o humble_a and_o hearty_a thanks_n beseech_v he_o also_o practice_n when_o as_o we_o have_v learn_v it_o that_o when_o we_o come_v to_o the_o fight_n and_o satan_n assail_v we_o on_o every_o side_n in_o such_o sort_n as_o that_o it_o may_v seem_v that_o all_o the_o world_n have_v conspire_v against_o we_o and_o that_o we_o see_v nothing_o but_o destruction_n round_o about_o even_o then_o i_o say_v must_v we_o run_v unto_o the_o promise_n which_o god_n have_v make_v we_o and_o make_v account_v of_o they_o and_o so_o apply_v they_o to_o our_o own_o use_n that_o then_o we_o may_v feel_v the_o power_n and_o strength_n of_o they_o now_o it_o shall_v be_v a_o easy_a matter_n for_o we_o when_o as_o we_o be_v at_o rest_n and_o quiet_a to_o receive_v whatsoever_o god_n have_v say_v unto_o us._n and_o why_o so_o because_o our_o faith_n all_o that_o while_n shall_v not_o be_v exercise_v and_o trouble_v so_o that_o we_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o feel_v whether_o we_o have_v believe_v in_o good_a earnest_n until_o such_o time_n as_o we_o be_v try_v loe_o why_o i_o have_v say_v that_o this_o place_n be_v worthy_a the_o mark_v that_o david_n speak_v not_o with_o out_o cause_n when_o he_o say_v so_o shall_v i_o make_v answer_n unto_o those_o that_o go_v about_o to_o shane_v i_o for_o by_o these_o word_n he_o protest_v that_o the_o wicked_a contemn_v despise_a &_o mock_v he_o as_o if_o he_o have_v be_v a_o very_a fool_n in_o trust_v so_o much_o unto_o god_n but_o yet_o for_o that_o his_o faith_n be_v not_o shake_v and_o see_v how_o satan_n assayl_v we_o with_o temptation_n when_o as_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a speak_v reproachful_a word_n of_o we_o insomuch_o as_o we_o have_v think_v it_o to_o be_v wonder_a strange_a gear_n because_o that_o we_o have_v hear_v the_o so_o honourable_a &_o excellent_a promise_n of_o god_n think_v ourselves_o straightways_o to_o be_v rapte_v and_o carry_v above_o the_o cloud_n and_o yet_o this_o same_o our_o persuasion_n prove_v nothing_o at_o all_o so_o as_o it_o make_v a_o show_n to_o the_o outward_a appearance_n even_o so_o likewise_o come_v it_o to_o pass_v in_o david_n as_o we_o may_v especial_o see_v in_o the_o twenty_o and_o two_o psalm_n and_o our_o saviour_n christ_n also_o who_o be_v the_o very_a true_a pattern_n and_o mirror_n of_o all_o the_o child_n of_o god_n have_v sustain_v &_o abiden_v such_o combat_n very_o well_o say_v they_o unto_o he_o he_o trust_v in_o god_n let_v he_o now_o see_v whether_o god_n will_v hear_v he_o or_o not_o let_v we_o then_o note_n that_o david_n have_v not_o devise_v and_o make_v here_o any_o vain_a speculation_n as_o a_o idle_a body_n may_v do_v which_o never_o have_v be_v tempt_v nor_o distress_v but_o be_v so_o mock_v by_o his_o enemy_n that_o his_o faith_n seem_v to_o be_v overthrow_v and_o he_o himself_o in_o great_a hazard_n utter_o to_o be_v destroy_v then_o come_v he_o for_o refuge_n to_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n say_v my_o god_n thou_o haste_v give_v i_o thy_o word_n which_o can_v fail_v i_o loe_o wherein_o be_v all_o hope_n and_o trust_v even_o so_o also_o ought_v we_o to_o follow_v this_o doctrine_n too_o wit_n when_o the_o world_n on_o the_o oneside_n shall_v deride_v and_o scorn_v we_o because_o we_o have_v over_o light_o credit_v god_n and_o that_o satan_n shall_v travel_v all_o he_o can_v too_o turn_v we_o clean_o away_o from_o the_o certainty_n which_o we_o have_v mind_n the_o promise_n of_o god_n when_o as_o we_o be_v assail_v by_o satan_n and_o the_o ungodly_a let_v we_o also_o note_n as_o have_v be_v heretofore_o treat_v of_o that_o this_o be_v it_o whereon_o we_o must_v build_v all_o our_o request_n for_o if_o we_o will_v earnest_o pray_v unto_o god_n and_o obtain_v that_o which_o we_o pray_v for_o we_o must_v not_o pray_v in_o the_o air_n &_o say_v o_o lord_n i_o pray_v unto_o thou_o for_o such_o a_o thing_n and_o i_o will_v it_o may_v so_o come_v to_o pass_v for_o this_o be_v over_o rash_a and_o too_o too_o great_a boldness_n to_o think_v we_o may_v stand_v sure_a against_o all_o our_o enemy_n yea_o very_o for_o god_n will_v never_o fail_v we_o whensoever_o we_o shall_v desire_v &_o pray_v he_o to_o perform_v his_o promise_n unto_o we_o and_o make_v we_o feel_v his_o goodness_n for_o our_o salvation_n moreover_o if_o we_o have_v wherewithal_o too_o resist_v the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a which_o come_v upon_o we_o too_o daunt_v and_o lo_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o we_o feel_v not_o the_o power_n of_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n as_o we_o ought_v the_o reason_n be_v for_o that_o we_o have_v no_o hope_n nor_o trust_v in_o grace_n upon_o we_o as_o also_o he_o offer_v it_o untoo_o we_o but_o yet_o be_v we_o utter_o unworthy_a thereof_o without_o we_o believe_v his_o promise_n will_v we_o that_o god_n shall_v do_v unto_o we_o according_a to_o his_o word_n we_o must_v then_o receive_v his_o word_n and_o embrace_v it_o by_o faith_n 2._o heb._n 4._o 2._o as_o also_o the_o apostle_n treat_v thereof_o and_o thus_o much_o the_o second_o let_v we_o advise_o consider_v to_o edify_v our_o neighbour_n that_o they_o may_v be_v confirm_v by_o our_o example_n and_o all_o with_o one_o accord_n to_o trust_v in_o god_n that_o show_v unto_o we_o no_o token_n of_o his_o grace_n although_o our_o enemy_n deride_v we_o with_o open_a mouth_n yet_o we_o be_v not_o at_o that_o liberty_n to_o confute_v they_o and_o stop_v their_o mouth_n david_n then_o be_v thus_o tempt_v a_o long_a time_n desire_v that_o the_o confession_n wherewith_o he_o may_v be_v able_a to_o magnify_v god_n may_v not_o to_o be_v take_v from_o he_o for_o not_o too_o flatter_v ourselves_o when_o as_o the_o lord_n our_o god_n shall_v visit_v we_o with_o any_o little_a affliction_n that_o we_o think_v too_o have_v do_v even_o sufficient_o if_o we_o call_v upon_o he_o but_o if_o we_o shall_v have_v do_v so_o a_o hundred_o thousand_o time_n more_o yet_o that_o we_o must_v not_o give_v over_o pray_v and_o call_v upon_o he_o and_o herein_o may_v continual_o persevere_v in_o prayer_n to_o be_v short_a let_v we_o understande_v that_o david_n make_v this_o prayer_n at_o such_o time_n as_o he_o think_v not_o too_o have_v live_v any_o long_a but_o that_o he_o be_v as_o a_o dead_a man_n when_o he_o say_v o_o quicken_v i_o moreover_o we_o may_v see_v that_o his_o constancy_n be_v not_o like_o a_o puff_v of_o wind_n but_o that_o he_o persevere_v for_o the_o which_o he_o will_v hear_v they_o and_o receive_v they_o also_o untoo_o himself_o in_o the_o end_n david_n protest_v that_o he_o will_v keep_v the_o testimony_n of_o the_o mouth_n of_o more_o strong_a reason_n when_o thou_o shall_v be_v my_o aid_n and_o succour_n &_o shall_v restore_v i_o i_o shall_v have_v a_o far_o great_a constancy_n to_o keep_v the_o testimony_n of_o thy_o mouth_n see_v then_o how_o that_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o our_o affliction_n we_o must_v glorify_v god_n not_o doubt_v of_o his_o faithful_a deal_n that_o he_o will_v perform_v whatsoever_o he_o acknowledge_v our_o offence_n beseech_v he_o that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o to_o open_v our_o eye_n better_a that_o we_o may_v behold_v the_o power_n and_o virtue_n of_o his_o word_n and_o thereon_o to_o stay_v we_o in_o bereave_v we_o of_o all_o the_o lightness_n and_o inconstancy_n which_o may_v turn_v we_o away_o from_o it_o desire_v he_o also_o not_o to_o suffer_v we_o too_o wander_v this_o way_n and_o that_o way_n as_o common_o we_o be_v wont_a to_o turn_v we_o from_o the_o right_a way_n as_o we_o be_v by_o nature_n overmuch_o incline_v thereto_o but_o be_v full_o resolve_v that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o vain_a which_o he_o have_v declare_v unto_o we_o that_o he_o will_v assist_v we_o in_o all_o our_o necessity_n which_o we_o shall_v crave_v of_o he_o in_o true_a faith_n yea_o not_o search_v out_o that_o which_o be_v in_o the_o mind_n of_o man_n we_o shall_v see_v there_o a_o great_a deal_n more_o vanity_n and_o change_n then_o be_v too_o be_v see_v in_o the_o very_a shadow_n and_o that_o which_o be_v more_o david_n say_v in_o a_o other_o place_n that_o if_o man_n be_v lay_v in_o one_o school_n &_o vanity_n in_o a_o other_o that_o vanity_n which_o be_v nothing_o will_v way_n down_o man_n great_o and_o we_o shall_v not_o need_v too_o stand_v long_o dispute_v of_o this_o for_o every_o man_n by_o his_o own_o experience_n can_v testify_v what_o it_o be_v and_o what_o it_o can_v do_v albeit_o there_o be_v nothing_o write_v nor_o yet_o any_o thing_n thereof_o contain_v in_o the_o scripture_n what_o rest_v there_o then_o for_o we_o to_o do_v forsooth_o we_o must_v seek_v for_o our_o constancy_n else_o where_o then_o in_o ourselves_o now_o god_n give_v we_o a_o very_a good_a mean_a if_o we_o will_v take_v it_o which_o be_v to_o build_v and_o settle_v ourselves_o upon_o his_o word_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n it_o be_v 40.8_o isai_n 40.8_o that_o the_o prophet_n esaiah_n say_v that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n endure_v for_o ever_o he_o have_v speak_v before_o of_o the_o frailty_n and_o fickleness_n of_o man_n as_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v more_o &_o although_o it_o may_v seem_v that_o there_o be_v some_o strength_n in_o they_o it_o be_v yet_o incontinent_a clean_a parch_a and_o dry_v up_o that_o it_o vanish_v away_o into_o less_o than_o nothing_o but_o he_o conclude_v and_o say_v that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n abide_v for_o ever_o so_o then_o see_v the_o mean_a how_o that_o man_n although_o they_o be_v transitory_a and_o have_v constancy_n at_o all_o in_o they_o shall_v notwithstanding_o have_v a_o perfect_a constancy_n and_o sure_a estate_n to_o wit_n when_o as_o they_o shall_v stay_v themselves_o upon_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n and_o his_o word_n
follow_v the_o doctrine_n herein_o contain_v now_o return_v he_o to_o the_o first_o argument_n which_o we_o have_v already_o touch_v to_o wit_n according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n wherein_o we_o see_v that_o all_o the_o assurance_n and_o certainty_n which_o we_o ought_v to_o have_v in_o our_o prayer_n to_o god_n be_v to_o look_v unto_o that_o which_o he_o have_v promise_v us._n for_o they_o which_o trust_v unto_o themselves_o and_o think_v there_o be_v sufficient_a in_o they_o why_o god_n shall_v hear_v they_o it_o be_v most_o sure_a that_o they_o shall_v never_o open_v their_o mouth_n to_o desire_v any_o thing_n of_o god_n or_o if_o they_o do_v it_o shall_v be_v all_o but_o mere_a hypocrisy_n as_o in_o popery_n where_o we_o be_v not_o teach_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n true_a it_o be_v that_o they_o will_v babble_v much_o mumble_v over_o a_o number_n of_o pater_n noster_n with_o a_o mixture_n of_o ave_n yea_o and_o will_v also_o direct_v their_o paternoster_n to_o the_o puppet_n of_o s._n agatha_n or_o some_o other_o saint_n as_o if_o it_o be_v too_o god_n now_o this_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o beastly_a to_o profane_v the_o name_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o i_o have_v say_v that_o the_o principale_a point_n that_o we_o ought_v to_o use_v in_o pray_v unto_o god_n be_v to_o lay_v before_o he_o his_o promise_n say_v o_o lord_n god_n it_o be_v true_a that_o we_o right_o deserve_v to_o be_v reject_v of_o thou_o but_o see_v thou_o invite_v and_o call_v we_o shall_v we_o go_v from_o thou_o be_v it_o not_o meet_v that_o we_o shall_v do_v thou_o this_o honour_n as_o to_o give_v credit_n unto_o thy_o word_n and_o to_o hold_v it_o for_o steadfast_a and_o sure_a since_o than_o it_o be_v so_o that_o we_o have_v thy_o promise_n we_o may_v bold_o trust_v unto_o they_o consider_v that_o they_o be_v true_a and_o because_o we_o can_v but_o have_v they_o grant_v unto_o we_o we_o only_o rest_v and_o stay_v ourselves_o upon_o they_o loe_o here_o the_o meaning_n of_o david_n in_o this_o verse_n now_o he_o go_v on_o and_o say_v take_v from_o i_o the_o way_n of_o lie_v and_o grant_v i_o gracious_o thy_o law_n here_o he_o acknowledge_v that_o although_o he_o be_v already_o exercyse_v in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o in_o his_o knowledge_n and_o that_o although_o he_o be_v a_o prophet_n to_o teach_v other_o nevertheless_o that_o he_o be_v yet_o subject_a to_o a_o number_n of_o wicked_a thought_n and_o imagination_n which_o may_v always_o wicked_o lead_v he_o from_o the_o right_a way_n except_o god_n have_v hold_v he_o with_o his_o mighty_a and_o strong_a hand_n and_o this_o be_v a_o point_n which_o we_o ought_v here_o right_o to_o note_v for_o we_o see_v how_o man_n great_o abuse_v themselves_o when_o any_o of_o we_o shall_v have_v have_v a_o good_a beginning_n we_o straight_o way_n think_v that_o we_o be_v at_o the_o high_a we_o never_o bethink_v we_o too_o pray_v any_o more_o to_o god_n when_o as_o he_o have_v show_v we_o that_o favour_n too_o serve_v our_o turn_n but_o if_o we_o have_v do_v any_o small_a deed_n we_o by_o and_o by_o lift_v up_o our_o sail_n and_o wonder_v at_o our_o great_a virtue_n to_o be_v short_a we_o think_v straightway_o that_o the_o devil_n can_v win_v no_o more_o of_o us._n this_o foolish_a arrogancy_n cause_v god_n to_o let_v we_o go_v astray_o so_o that_o we_o fall_v mighty_o yea_o that_o we_o break_v both_o arm_n and_o leg_n and_o be_v in_o great_a hazard_n of_o break_v our_o neck_n i_o speak_v not_o now_o of_o our_o natural_a body_n but_o of_o the_o soul_n let_v we_o look_v upon_o david_n himself_o for_o he_o it_o be_v that_o have_v make_v proof_n hereof_o it_o come_v too_o pass_v that_o he_o villanous_o and_o wicked_o err_v when_o as_o he_o take_v bethsabe_n the_o wife_n of_o his_o subject_n vry_n to_o play_v the_o whoremonger_n with_o she_o 1â—_n 1._o sam._n 1â—_n that_o he_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o so_o execrable_a a_o murder_n yea_o &_o that_o of_o many_o for_o he_o do_v asmuch_o as_n in_o he_o lay_v to_o have_v the_o whole_a army_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o all_o the_o people_n of_o israel_n to_o be_v utter_o overthrow_v loe_o then_o too_o too_o great_a negligence_n and_o security_n in_o david_n and_o see_v also_o wherefore_o he_o say_v alas_o my_o good_a god_n i_o beseech_v thou_o so_o to_o guide_v i_o that_o i_o may_v forsake_v the_o way_n of_o lying_n this_o be_v the_o whole_a sum_n that_o david_n although_o he_o exceed_o profit_v in_o the_o law_n and_o word_n of_o god_n acknowledge_v that_o he_o be_v subject_a and_o apt_a to_o be_v carry_v away_o and_o abuse_v that_o the_o devil_n may_v sundry_a way_n beguile_v and_o deceive_v he_o that_o he_o may_v be_v seduce_v through_o many_o temptation_n allure_v by_o the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o my_o flesh_n so_o strong_a as_o that_o they_o may_v have_v sudden_o oppress_v i_o alas_o my_o god_n since_o i_o be_o so_o weak_a and_o feeble_a i_o must_v needs_o be_v assist_v by_o thou_o and_o by_o thy_o power_n and_o might_n and_o again_o how_o many_o be_v our_o enemy_n which_o molest_v and_o grieve_v we_o how_o mighty_a and_o strong_a be_v the_o devil_n how_o great_a and_o infinite_a be_v the_o mean_n wherewith_o he_o assayl_v we_o and_o when_o he_o shall_v assail_v we_o with_o his_o dart_n and_o arrow_n it_o be_v impossible_a for_o we_o too_o escape_v they_o we_o shall_v become_v then_o like_a unto_o the_o lamb_n in_o the_o throat_n of_o the_o lyon_n when_o we_o shall_v thus_o have_v understand_v these_o our_o want_n and_o need_v then_o may_v we_o say_v with_o david_n o_o lord_n take_v from_o i_o the_o way_n of_o lie_v now_o he_o show_v the_o remedy_n when_o he_o say_v cause_v i_o to_o make_v much_o of_o thy_o law_n or_o grant_v i_o thy_o grace_n that_o i_o may_v keep_v thy_o law_n for_o the_o word_n which_o david_n use_v import_v mere_a favour_n and_o free_a gift_n as_o if_o the_o shall_v have_v say_v it_o come_v of_o thy_o mere_a favour_n and_o grace_n that_o thou_o give_v i_o thy_o law_n see_v here_o the_o remedy_n which_o our_o lord_n and_o saviour_n use_v when_o he_o will_v withdraw_v we_o from_o the_o law_n of_o lie_v to_o wit_n that_o we_o truth_n what_o be_v the_o appetite_n and_o desire_n of_o man_n when_o as_o we_o shall_v have_v call_v out_o every_o of_o they_o by_o their selfe_o we_o shall_v find_v nothing_o in_o they_o but_o a_o mere_a contrariety_n to_o resist_v die_v lord_n our_o god_n for_o look_v how_o many_o thought_n and_o affection_n be_v in_o we_o they_o be_v even_o so_o many_o man_n of_o war_n to_o fight_v against_o from_o many_o doubt_n and_o grief_n that_o we_o can_v be_v utter_o overthrow_v and_o cast_v down_o although_o we_o happen_v to_o be_v press_v with_o some_o grief_n because_o we_o always_o conclude_v thus_o that_o we_o can_v be_v overcome_v see_v god_n hold_v we_o with_o a_o mighty_a and_o strong_a hand_n and_o in_o very_a deed_n what_o be_v the_o cause_n i_o pray_v you_o that_o man_n be_v so_o oftentimes_o torment_v but_o only_o that_o they_o submit_v not_o themselves_o unto_o god_n it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o there_o be_v very_o few_o which_o know_v this_o but_o this_o be_v the_o very_a good_a and_o joyful_a issue_n so_o that_o in_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o overcome_v they_o see_v then_o what_o be_v declare_v unto_o we_o in_o this_o place_n where_o it_o be_v say_v yet_o be_v he_o able_a i_o say_v too_o beat_v they_o back_o and_o make_v his_o part_n good_a against_o they_o all_o and_o this_o matter_n he_o manifest_o declare_v whereas_o he_o say_v i_o will_v speak_v of_o thy_o testimony_n because_o god_n shall_v no_o more_o take_v the_o word_n of_o truth_n out_o of_o his_o mouth_n now_o beside_o this_o that_o god_n give_v untoo_o we_o matter_n whereof_o let_v we_o learn_v yea_o let_v we_o learn_v to_o stay_v ourselves_o so_o upon_o god_n as_o that_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v call_v too_o make_v confession_n of_o our_o faith_n since_o it_o be_v so_o that_o it_o be_v god_n which_o have_v speak_v let_v all_o the_o creature_n in_o the_o world_n be_v nothing_o to_o we_o ward_n let_v we_o not_o be_v ashamed_a and_o let_v nothing_o hinder_v and_o stop_v we_o from_o maintain_v of_o his_o word_n in_o the_o end_n david_n conclude_v and_o say_v my_o hand_n also_o will_v i_o lift_v up_o unto_o thy_o commandment_n which_o i_o have_v love_v and_o my_o study_n shall_v be_v in_o thy_o statute_n these_o two_o verse_n here_o need_v no_o long_a declaration_n for_o we_o have_v already_o have_v the_o same_o sentence_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o david_n show_v we_o that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o think_v of_o this_o doctrine_n for_o a_o time_n but_o we_o must_v all_o the_o course_n of_o our_o life_n profit_v ourselves_o therein_o more_o and_o more_o loe_o here_o the_o principal_a point_n which_o we_o have_v to_o note_v that_o we_o must_v take_v pleasure_n in_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n which_o we_o have_v love_v to_o wit_n that_o we_o ought_v to_o learn_v to_o conceive_v such_o a_o affection_n and_o desire_v to_o follow_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o to_o stick_v thereto_o as_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v full_o resolve_v to_o say_v in_o very_a deed_n this_o be_v the_o most_o sweet_a and_o amiable_a thing_n that_o possible_o can_v be_v to_o subject_v ourselves_o under_o the_o yoke_n of_o our_o god_n and_o to_o bear_v it_o and_o therefore_o we_o must_v draw_v in_o it_o and_o obey_v he_o have_v we_o do_v this_o we_o must_v then_o in_o stead_n of_o a_o number_n of_o foolish_a vanity_n whereunto_o we_o be_v incline_v yea_o and_o in_o place_n of_o the_o wicked_a affection_n and_o allurement_n of_o satan_n learn_v to_o take_v pleasure_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n so_o that_o we_o may_v protest_v in_o truth_n after_o the_o example_n of_o david_n that_o they_o be_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n which_o we_o have_v love_v moreover_o let_v we_o mark_v well_o this_o sentence_n when_o he_o say_v my_o hand_n also_o will_v i_o lift_v up_o unto_o thy_o commandment_n for_o this_o be_v as_o much_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v o_o lord_n i_o will_v not_o only_o protest_v with_o my_o mouth_n that_o i_o love_v thy_o word_n but_o i_o will_v also_o lift_v up_o my_o hand_n yea_o as_o we_o common_o say_v i_o will_v lift_v up_o my_o hand_n to_o the_o caky_a god_n by_o this_o he_o let_v we_o to_o understande_v that_o if_o we_o will_v serve_v god_n as_o become_v we_o that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o we_o to_o witness_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n with_o our_o mouth_n but_o we_o must_v also_o show_v by_o our_o good_a and_o godly_a life_n that_o which_o we_o protest_v with_o our_o mouth_n and_o that_o there_o be_v a_o accord_n and_o sweet_a harmony_n between_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o true_a it_o be_v we_o shall_v find_v some_o doubt_n when_o as_o there_o shall_v be_v any_o question_n of_o follow_v god_n but_o this_o sentence_n be_v to_o be_v note_v when_o he_o say_v i_o will_v lift_v up_o my_o hand_n and_o to_o know_v that_o when_o god_n shall_v see_v that_o it_o shall_v surpass_v our_o force_n and_o strength_n let_v we_o pray_v unto_o he_o to_o grant_v we_o that_o grace_n that_o we_o may_v lift_v up_o our_o hand_n unto_o his_o commandment_n to_o wit_n so_o high_a as_o we_o can_v possible_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v take_v hold_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o virtue_n better_a than_o heretofore_o we_o have_v do_v lo_o in_o what_o manner_n we_o ought_v to_o do_v in_o this_o case_n that_o not_o presume_v of_o our_o own_o power_n and_o strength_n we_o may_v pray_v notwithstanding_o this_o good_a god_n to_o make_v his_o grace_n so_o forcible_a in_o we_o as_o that_o it_o may_v settle_v and_o reign_v there_o and_o to_o have_v we_o know_v that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o vain_a that_o he_o call_v we_o unto_o he_o &_o give_v we_o his_o truth_n which_o thing_n no_o doubt_n he_o will_v do_v so_o that_o we_o reject_v not_o his_o grace_n which_o he_o so_o free_o offer_v unto_o us._n and_o according_a to_o this_o holy_a doctrine_n let_v we_o prostrate_v ourselves_o before_o the_o majesty_n of_o our_o good_a god_n in_o acknowledge_v our_o fault_n beseech_v he_o that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o to_o open_v our_o eye_n to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v know_v our_o wretchedness_n &_o the_o miserable_a condition_n wherein_o we_o stand_v that_o we_o may_v return_v to_o he_o yea_o and_o that_o with_o a_o certain_a confidence_n that_o he_o will_v perform_v that_o which_o he_o have_v promise_v we_o that_o we_o be_v not_o frustrate_v of_o our_o hope_n when_o as_o it_o shall_v stay_v upon_o he_o and_o in_o his_o truth_n but_o that_o he_o will_v more_o and_o more_o strengthen_v we_o therein_o until_o such_o time_n as_o we_o come_v to_o the_o perfect_a knowledge_n of_o thing_n which_o we_o yet_o know_v not_o but_o in_o part_n that_o not_o only_o he_o will_v grant_v we_o this_o grace_n but_o also_o unto_o all_o people_n and_o nation_n of_o the_o world_n etc._n etc._n the_o seven_o sermon_n of_o the_o hundred_o and_o nineteenth_o psalm_n zain_n remember_v the_o promise_n make_v unto_o thy_o servant_n wherein_o thou_o have_v cause_v i_o to_o from_o we_o and_o that_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a make_v a_o mock_n at_o our_o simplicity_n when_o i_o say_v that_o we_o be_v so_o assail_v then_o must_v our_o faith_n show_v itself_o whether_o it_o be_v true_a or_o not_o and_o if_o then_o we_o shall_v constant_o persevere_v without_o be_v vanquish_v and_o overcome_v o_o see_v now_o a_o sure_a and_o certain_a sign_n that_o we_o have_v believe_v in_o good_a earnest_n and_o not_o hypocritical_o that_o we_o have_v not_o take_v his_o word_n in_o vain_a but_o it_o have_v be_v lively_o root_v in_o our_o soul_n let_v we_o then_o well_o note_v that_o if_o we_o will_v have_v a_o true_a proufe_v of_o our_o faith_n and_o learn_v too_o speak_v in_o truth_n that_o we_o have_v trust_v in_o god_n and_o his_o promise_n it_o be_v meet_v that_o we_o shall_v feel_v very_o boisterous_a assault_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o we_o have_v not_o be_v forsake_v and_o leave_v until_o such_o time_n as_o we_o withdraw_v ourselves_o from_o god_n moreover_o david_n speak_v here_o of_o the_o wicked_a call_v they_o the_o proud_a neither_o do_v he_o so_o entitle_v they_o without_o cause_n for_o it_o be_v the_o property_n of_o all_o those_o which_o trust_v not_o in_o god_n for_o it_o can_v not_o be_v choose_v but_o that_o a_o man_n which_o put_v not_o his_o trust_n in_o god_n must_v needs_o grow_v proud_a and_o swell_v therewith_o like_o a_o toad_n and_o why_o so_o for_o when_o man_n do_v know_v themselves_o to_o be_v such_o as_o in_o deed_n they_o be_v they_o must_v needs_o be_v cast_v down_o and_o humble_v and_o this_o common_a prover_n be_v which_o reign_v even_o amongst_o the_o faithless_a say_v he_o that_o know_v himself_o make_v very_o little_a of_o his_o paint_a sheath_n now_o we_o will_v speak_v this_o with_o the_o mouth_n but_o yet_o it_o be_v to_o our_o condemnation_n nevertheless_o it_o be_v god_n his_o will_n that_o all_o man_n shall_v know_v this_o because_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o excuse_n in_o sum_n this_o be_v very_o true_a that_o if_o man_n know_v themselves_o thy_o shall_v be_v humble_v and_o utter_o discomfit_v hereupon_o they_o will_v come_v to_o seek_v god_n and_o hide_v themselves_o under_o the_o shadow_n of_o his_o wing_n they_o will_v have_v recourse_n to_o he_o to_o be_v aid_v in_o all_o their_o necessity_n contrariwise_o as_o i_o have_v already_o touch_v it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o all_o the_o faithless_a be_v full_a of_o arrogancy_n and_o presumption_n to_o lift_v themselves_o up_o against_o god_n to_o promise_v wonder_n as_o of_o themselves_o where_o in_o very_a deed_n they_o have_v nothing_o neither_o yet_o be_v any_o thing_n see_v now_o wherefore_o david_n in_o this_o place_n speak_v of_o the_o faithless_a and_o enemy_n of_o god_n call_v they_o proud_a and_o it_o be_v not_o only_o here_o but_o the_o holy_a scripture_n use_v this_o speech_n throughout_o and_o hereupon_o also_o it_o be_v that_o the_o prophet_n abacuc_n say_v that_o a_o man_n shall_v live_v by_o his_o faith_n 2.4_o abac._n 2.4_o and_o he_o set_v down_o to_o the_o contrary_a that_o they_o which_o lift_v up_o themselves_o and_o in_o such_o sort_n some_o out_o their_o pride_n shall_v never_o take_v hold_n they_o may_v well_o make_v a_o fair_a show_n but_o it_o can_v not_o be_v but_o that_o they_o must_v needs_o fall_v down_o headlong_o we_o see_v then_o that_o the_o prophet_n compare_v the_o faithful_a with_o the_o faithless_a give_v this_o title_n and_o quality_n to_o all_o those_o which_o put_v not_o their_o trust_n in_o god_n that_o they_o be_v puff_v up_o and_o presume_v without_o measure_n even_o so_o then_o let_v we_o note_v that_o if_o we_o will_v render_v a_o true_a testimony_n of_o our_o faith_n we_o must_v needs_o be_v cast_v down_o in_o ourselves_o &_o be_v true_o humble_v and_o contrariwise_o if_o we_o feel_v that_o pride_n puff_v we_o up_o let_v we_o conclude_v that_o we_o have_v as_o yet_o profit_v very_o slender_o in_o the_o school_n of_o god_n &_o that_o if_o faith_n reign_v in_o our_o soul_n that_o this_o pride_n shall_v there_o be_v correct_v see_v then_o how_o we_o ought_v to_o put_v this_o lesson_n in_o practice_n moreover_o let_v we_o also_o note_n that_o they_o which_o so_o lift_v themselves_o up_o against_o god_n contemn_v and_o despise_v their_o neighbour_n that_o all_o they_o which_o presume_v upon_o their_o own_o power_n and_o strength_n know_v not_o that_o their_o whole_a blessedness_n lie_v in_o the_o mere_a grace_n of_o god_n these_o man_n i_o say_v can_v not_o be_v but_o cruel_a and_o will_v be_v fierce_a and_o malicious_a against_o their_o neighbour_n and_o therefore_o after_o that_o we_o shall_v have_v learn_v to_o humble_v ourselves_o before_o god_n let_v we_o use_v such_o courtesy_n and_o gentleness_n unto_o man_n as_o that_o we_o practise_v that_o which_o saint_n paul_n speak_v of_o 2.3_o phil._n 2.3_o to_o wit_n that_o every_o man_n esteem_n of_o his_o brother_n better_o than_o of_o himself_o let_v we_o not_o study_v to_o go_v about_o to_o advance_v and_o esteem_v of_o ourselves_o in_o reject_v and_o naught_o set_v by_o of_o other_o but_o let_v we_o acknowledge_v the_o benefit_n which_o god_n have_v bestow_v upon_o every_o one_o of_o we_o and_o confess_v the_o infirmity_n &_o vice_n which_o be_v in_o ourselves_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v be_v humble_v and_o rather_o commend_v and_o praise_v other_o let_v we_o now_o come_v to_o this_o complaint_n and_o protestation_n which_o david_n make_v the_o proud_a have_v have_v i_o exceed_o in_o derision_n yet_o have_v i_o not_o shrink_v from_o thy_o law_n when_o he_o say_v that_o the_o proud_a have_v have_v he_o exceed_o in_o derision_n there_o be_v no_o doubt_n but_o that_o he_o mean_v that_o they_o deride_v he_o for_o his_o simplicity_n because_o he_o put_v his_o trust_n in_o god_n very_o well_o say_v they_o he_o think_v that_o god_n shall_v dandle_v he_o in_o his_o lap_n but_o we_o not_o we_o see_v what_o be_v become_v of_o he_o loe_o the_o combatte_n wherewith_o satan_n daily_o assail_v us._n when_o as_o the_o ungodly_a do_v see_v the_o child_n of_o god_n in_o any_o misery_n and_o calamity_n they_o rush_v even_o upon_o they_o at_o the_o first_o dash_n and_o say_v ha_o ha_o this_o man_n think_v that_o god_n ought_v to_o watch_v over_o he_o and_o that_o no_o sorrow_n nor_o grief_n shall_v come_v upon_o he_o and_o now_o we_o see_v what_o be_v become_v of_o he_o and_o because_o he_o have_v hear_v he_o speak_v he_o think_v that_o god_n shall_v never_o forsake_v he_o but_o we_o see_v now_o what_o come_v of_o it_o it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o the_o ungodly_a of_o their_o own_o motion_n and_o inclination_n will_v soon_o vomit_v out_o such_o blasphemy_n but_o sure_o this_o come_v a_o great_a deal_n far_o of_o for_o it_o be_v satan_n that_o put_v it_o into_o their_o mind_n &_o pussh_v they_o on_o thereto_o to_o the_o end_n to_o shake_v their_o faith_n and_o utter_o to_o overthrow_v it_o now_o this_o be_v not_o the_o first_o time_n alone_o that_o david_n have_v be_v thus_o assail_v for_o this_o be_v a_o ordinary_a thing_n with_o he_o as_o we_o see_v throughout_o the_o whole_a two_o and_o twenty_o psalm_n and_o since_o he_o have_v put_v his_o trust_n in_o god_n say_v they_o let_v he_o now_o save_v he_o and_o let_v we_o see_v whether_o god_n will_v help_v he_o or_o not_o and_o as_o david_n be_v grieve_v with_o these_o torment_n there_o be_v no_o doubt_n but_o that_o jesus_n christ_n have_v abide_v the_o like_a conflict_n and_o since_o that_o this_o appertain_v to_o the_o son_n of_o god_n we_o have_v to_o note_v that_o it_o can_v not_o be_v choose_v but_o that_o it_o must_v spread_v itself_o throughout_o his_o member_n &_o that_o every_o faithful_a man_n must_v be_v exercise_v with_o such_o temptation_n and_o therefore_o if_o we_o see_v the_o wicked_a and_o the_o enemy_n of_o god_n jest_n and_o scoff_n at_o we_o when_o as_o we_o be_v in_o affliction_n take_v occasion_n thereby_o to_o lift_v up_o their_o horn_n and_o to_o deride_v we_o let_v we_o not_o yield_v for_o all_o that_o but_o let_v we_o remain_v firm_a and_o constant_a since_o that_o david_n have_v show_v we_o the_o way_n and_o not_o only_o he_o but_o also_o our_o lord_n jesus_n unto_o who_o we_o must_v be_v like_a and_o therefore_o we_o must_v be_v of_o a_o lusty_a courage_n to_o follow_v he_o and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o point_n for_o the_o second_o let_v we_o note_v that_o we_o have_v not_o war_n with_o man_n when_o as_o the_o ungodly_a do_v so_o rise_v against_o we_o and_o vomit_v out_o such_o mockery_n the_o same_o say_v i_o come_v not_o from_o they_o but_o it_o be_v satan_n that_o cast_v his_o dart_n at_o we_o and_o mean_v
to_o wit_n when_o as_o we_o be_v conformable_a to_o he_o and_o to_o his_o word_n let_v it_o not_o now_o abash_v we_o although_o we_o feel_v so_o little_a taste_n of_o god_n his_o mercy_n and_o why_o so_o for_o what_o be_v he_o that_o will_v acknowledge_v it_o we_o be_v so_o beguile_v with_o these_o false_a deceit_n of_o the_o world_n that_o we_o think_v we_o may_v triumph_n by_o they_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v exceed_o bless_a when_o as_o we_o shall_v have_v all_o thing_n after_o our_o own_o heart_n desire_v but_o in_o thus_o do_v we_o can_v contemn_v god_n and_o his_o grace_n we_o must_v not_o then_o be_v abash_v if_o we_o be_v set_v beside_o that_o which_o appertain_v to_o our_o salvation_n and_o that_o god_n suffer_v we_o to_o languish_v in_o wretchedness_n and_o misery_n and_o so_o let_v we_o learn_v after_o the_o example_n of_o david_n to_o be_v as_o it_o be_v reject_v of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o to_o be_v as_o it_o be_v estrange_v from_o it_o to_o crave_v in_o good_a earnest_n to_o cause_v his_o mercy_n to_o return_v unto_o we_o to_o wit_n that_o he_o will_v grant_v we_o this_o grace_n to_o let_v we_o in_o such_o sort_n understand_v what_o need_n we_o have_v of_o his_o favour_n and_o aid_n that_o notwithstanding_o that_o we_o have_v decline_v from_o his_o commandment_n yet_o that_o he_o will_v grant_v we_o for_o all_o that_o to_o feel_v his_o mercy_n although_o he_o have_v hold_v the_o same_o from_o we_o for_o a_o season_n now_o it_o follow_v let_v the_o proud_a be_v confound_v for_o they_o have_v deal_v wicked_o and_o false_o with_o i_o but_o i_o meditate_v in_o thy_o commandment_n here_o david_n set_v down_o another_o reason_n to_o confirm_v himself_o continual_o more_o and_o more_o that_o he_o shall_v obtain_v that_o which_o he_o pray_v unto_o god_n for_o to_o wit_n because_o the_o wicked_a do_v persecute_v he_o who_o he_o call_v the_o proud_a and_o this_o be_v the_o sentence_n which_o we_o have_v already_o heretofore_o treat_v off_o neither_o will_v the_o time_n suffer_v we_o to_o stay_v any_o long_o upon_o it_o it_o shall_v therefore_o suffice_v we_o for_o this_o time_n that_o faith_n only_o be_v the_o thing_n which_o bring_v we_o within_o the_o compass_n of_o humility_n when_o as_o we_o know_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o we_o but_o wickedness_n and_o that_o we_o be_v thereto_o tie_v by_o the_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n when_o i_o say_v that_o the_o faithful_a know_v this_o it_o pull_v down_o their_o high_a mind_n they_o be_v no_o more_o arrogant_a nor_o presumptuous_a to_o lift_v themselves_o up_o against_o god_n and_o their_o neighbour_n contrariwyse_o the_o wicked_a and_o enemy_n of_o god_n be_v call_v proud_a for_o the_o pride_n which_o they_o use_v against_o god_n engender_v also_o cruelty_n against_o their_o neighbour_n as_o many_o as_o will_v humble_v themselves_o before_o god_n will_v also_o be_v very_o gentle_a too_o their_o neighbour_n but_o they_o which_o have_v a_o fierce_a and_o high_a mind_n to_o stand_v against_o god_n must_v needs_o likewise_o cast_v their_o poison_n against_o their_o neighbour_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n david_n say_v let_v the_o proud_a o_o lord_n be_v confound_v for_o they_o go_v wicked_o about_o to_o confound_v i_o whereby_o we_o be_v admonish_v that_o although_o the_o wicked_a vex_v and_o grieve_v we_o never_o so_o injurious_o and_o without_o cause_n yet_o we_o be_v thereby_o teach_v to_o have_v the_o rather_o a_o great_a deal_n more_o trust_n that_o god_n will_v have_v mercy_n upon_o us._n and_o why_o so_o because_o it_o be_v he_o which_o grant_v our_o request_n and_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v make_v it_o unto_o he_o it_o shall_v not_o come_v of_o ourselves_o but_o he_o shall_v be_v author_n thereof_o so_o then_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v grieve_v and_o injury_v by_o malicious_a and_o cruel_a man_n let_v we_o go_v bold_o unto_o god_n and_o beseech_v he_o to_o have_v pity_n and_o compassion_n upon_o us._n take_v heed_n that_o the_o same_o keep_v we_o not_o from_o have_v recourse_n unto_o he_o now_o it_o may_v very_o well_o seem_v that_o god_n sometime_o think_v not_o of_o we_o but_o special_o when_o one_o side_n we_o look_v that_o if_o god_n take_v we_o for_o his_o child_n &_o love_v we_o as_o he_o testify_v shall_v he_o not_o by_o and_o by_o have_v compassion_n of_o our_o misery_n shall_v he_o deal_n more_o high_a than_o into_o our_o own_o sense_n when_o we_o will_v comprehend_v how_o god_n be_v true_a and_o faithful_a when_o we_o will_v feel_v the_o certainty_n and_o assurance_n of_o his_o word_n we_o must_v enter_v into_o a_o more_o deep_a consideration_n than_o our_o sense_n be_v able_a too_o bear_v and_o not_o look_v so_o into_o the_o visible_a thing_n or_o into_o that_o which_o we_o the_o most_o great_a and_o dangerous_a confusion_n which_o may_v light_v upon_o us._n let_v we_o also_o see_v that_o whether_o the_o wind_n blow_v in_o this_o corner_n or_o in_o that_o that_o there_o time_n necessary_o to_o be_v teach_v it_o be_v at_o this_o most_o necessary_a and_o high_a time_n since_o we_o be_v come_v even_o to_o so_o full_a a_o measure_n &_o bottomless_a depth_n of_o iniquity_n let_v we_o then_o be_v well_o advise_v too_o depart_v from_o all_o those_o that_o work_n iniquity_n yea_o and_o let_v we_o chase_v they_o far_o from_o we_o if_o we_o will_v faithful_o and_o true_o serve_v god_n it_o be_v most_o sure_a that_o we_o must_v needs_o be_v conversaunt_a with_o the_o ungodly_a or_o else_o depart_v out_o of_o this_o world_n at_o once_o but_o yet_o we_o must_v not_o keep_v they_o company_n so_o familiar_o as_o too_o draw_v with_o they_o the_o same_o yoke_n let_v we_o take_v heed_n that_o we_o in_o no_o way_n wound_n ourselves_o in_o with_o they_o but_o that_o our_o life_n and_o conversation_n be_v so_o simple_a and_o plain_a as_o that_o they_o be_v never_o able_a to_o bring_v we_o in_o and_o to_o be_v infect_v with_o their_o vice_n for_o we_o hear_v what_o the_o holy_a scripture_n say_v that_o we_o have_v no_o need_n of_o any_o thing_n to_o corrupt_v good_a manner_n for_o as_o a_o little_a leaven_n sour_v the_o whole_a lump_n of_o dough_n even_o so_o when_o the_o devil_n can_v thrust_v in_o among_o we_o the_o least_o drop_n of_o corruption_n lo_o all_o shall_v be_v pervert_v and_o come_v to_o naught_o we_o see_v not_o at_o the_o first_o sight_n how_o the_o devil_n go_v about_o to_o beguile_v we_o and_o therefore_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o watchful_a let_v the_o ungodly_a complain_v as_o much_o as_o they_o will_v as_o we_o see_v at_o this_o day_n the_o murmurer_n and_o grudger_n do_v that_o they_o think_v themselves_o to_o be_v ill_o deal_v withal_o when_o as_o we_o will_v not_o be_v partaker_n of_o to_o god_n and_o follow_v you_o the_o right_a way_n of_o salvation_n and_o the_o better_a sort_n will_v not_o absent_v themselves_o far_o from_o you_o but_o will_v rather_o join_v with_o you_o if_o they_o shall_v see_v you_o ready_a to_o march_v forward_o they_o will_v say_v let_v we_o go_v together_o if_o they_o shall_v see_v you_o go_v before_o they_o will_v come_v after_o if_o they_o shall_v see_v you_o tarry_v behind_o so_o that_o you_o be_v enter_v into_o the_o right_a way_n they_o will_v stir_v you_o up_o too_o follow_v they_o but_o when_o as_o we_o see_v such_o kind_n of_o people_n to_o go_v clean_o backward_o from_o all_o goodness_n and_o desire_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o lead_v we_o too_o wickedness_n yea_o too_o cast_v we_o down_o headlong_o with_o they_o into_o hell_n mouth_n wherein_o to_o they_o run_v like_o mad_a man_n what_o shall_v we_o do_v but_o separate_v ourselves_o from_o among_o they_o and_o retire_v we_o from_o thence_o as_o david_n show_v us._n and_o namely_o he_o say_v for_o i_o will_v keep_v the_o commandment_n of_o my_o god_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v these_o curse_a man_n do_v right_a well_o show_v that_o they_o have_v no_o feeling_n shake_v &_o astonish_v we_o when_o as_o god_n speak_v with_o such_o power_n &_o majesty_n unto_o us._n see_v then_o as_o concern_v this_o say_n where_o david_n say_v that_o he_o do_v not_o forget_v repeat_v a_o word_n which_o have_v a_o double_a signification_n for_o in_o the_o first_o place_n righteousness_n signify_v the_o law_n of_o god_n &_o that_o because_o it_o be_v the_o rule_n of_o all_o goodness_n and_o they_o next_o he_o give_v it_o the_o title_n of_o righteousness_n signify_v thereby_o that_o this_o law_n be_v so_o certain_a a_o rule_n as_o that_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v thorough_o sound_v it_o even_o to_o the_o bottom_n we_o shall_v find_v that_o god_n have_v set_v down_o therein_o a_o perfection_n of_o all_o equity_n and_o sincerity_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v this_o be_v without_o all_o doubt_n a_o perfect_a rule_n of_o righteousness_n now_o he_o couple_v as_o he_o have_v already_o before_o do_v truth_n with_o righteousness_n i_o have_v already_o say_v that_o these_o word_n here_o be_v oftentimes_o repeat_v and_o yet_o it_o be_v no_o superfluous_a kind_n of_o speech_n and_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n because_o we_o may_v full_o and_o whole_o confess_v that_o god_n have_v speak_v most_o wise_o that_o all_o man_n mouth_n may_v be_v stop_v and_o that_o we_o all_o at_o once_o may_v be_v silent_a and_o still_o to_o hear_v he_o there_o be_v no_o man_n but_o will_v confess_v this_o at_o the_o tongue_n end_n but_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n for_o we_o to_o know_v this_o equity_n and_o truth_n which_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n alas_o we_o be_v too_o too_o far_o off_o so_o then_o let_v every_o man_n look_v well_o unto_o himself_o and_o see_v whether_o his_o life_n be_v agreeable_a unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n or_o no._n and_o if_o it_o be_v it_o be_v a_o manifest_a proof_n that_o the_o righteousness_n and_o truth_n thereof_o be_v deep_o imprint_v in_o his_o heart_n now_o if_o this_o be_v so_o than_o no_o doubt_n of_o it_o god_n his_o word_n be_v honour_v as_o it_o be_v worthy_a then_o let_v we_o render_v unto_o he_o effectual_o the_o praise_n which_o be_v here_o attribute_v unto_o he_o and_o as_o every_o side_n let_v we_o then_o consider_v what_o it_o be_v principal_o to_o be_v require_v in_o our_o prayer_n which_o be_v that_o we_o must_v not_o only_o wag_v the_o tongue_n and_o open_v our_o mouth_n with_o a_o intent_n to_o pray_v unto_o god_n but_o we_o must_v pray_v sincere_o and_o pure_o also_o unto_o he_o from_o the_o bottom_n of_o our_o heart_n now_o in_o very_a deed_n we_o ought_v to_o bring_v this_o into_o a_o more_o plain_a order_n but_o yet_o according_a to_o the_o manner_n which_o we_o have_v heretofore_o keep_v in_o handle_v of_o this_o psalm_n it_o shall_v suffice_v that_o we_o set_v down_o every_o thing_n brief_o in_o certain_a article_n it_o remain_v then_o for_o this_o time_n that_o every_o one_o private_o by_o himself_o do_v more_o diligent_o meditate_v &_o bestow_v his_o whole_a study_n herein_o now_o let_v we_o see_v how_o we_o ought_v too_o make_v our_o prayer_n to_o god_n to_o wit_n our_o prayer_n must_v not_o proceed_v from_o the_o midst_n of_o that_o he_o strain_v his_o throat_n to_o call_v and_o cry_v out_o but_o he_o rather_o signify_v that_o he_o go_v not_o cold_o unto_o it_o as_o they_o do_v which_o pray_v unto_o god_n they_o know_v not_o why_o nor_o wherefore_o without_o it_o be_v for_o a_o fashion_n or_o if_o they_o be_v press_v through_o any_o need_n yet_o be_v
god_n present_v himself_o thus_o unto_o we_o be_v they_o our_o merit_n have_v we_o any_o way_n on_o our_o part_n deserve_v that_o he_o shall_v be_v so_o love_v and_o kind_a unto_o we_o no_o without_o all_o doubt_n we_o must_v then_o needs_o conclude_v that_o the_o promise_n do_v spring_v out_o from_o this_o fountain_n even_o his_o mere_a mercy_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o without_o cause_n commandment_n be_v true_a here_o david_n complain_v unto_o god_n and_o desire_v he_o to_o help_v he_o against_o the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a contemner_n of_o his_o majesty_n as_o if_o he_o have_v unto_o it_o and_o see_v how_o david_n have_v take_v for_o his_o advantage_n that_o that_o the_o wicked_a be_v far_o from_o god_n because_o he_o do_v very_o well_o see_v that_o he_o have_v be_v overthrow_v through_o their_o malice_n without_o god_n have_v holpen_v he_o which_o thing_n he_o show_v by_o this_o complaint_n that_o the_o wicked_a trouble_v he_o even_o to_o the_o uttermost_a and_o so_o much_o the_o more_o ought_v we_o to_o consider_v of_o this_o because_o we_o be_v so_o womamnish_v as_o possible_o may_v be_v do_v by_o &_o by_o think_v that_o if_o the_o wicked_a bear_v the_o sway_n and_o crafty_o go_v about_o too_o devise_v any_o thing_n against_o we_o that_o all_o be_v lose_v and_o that_o god_n have_v give_v we_o over_o for_o a_o spoil_n we_o can_v in_o no_o wise_n abide_v that_o god_n shall_v exercise_v our_o patience_n nor_o yet_o humble_a us._n let_v we_o then_o thorough_o confider_v of_o the_o example_n of_o david_n for_o although_o that_o god_n have_v special_o choose_v he_o out_o among_o the_o rest_n and_o have_v bestow_v so_o many_o excellent_a grace_n upon_o he_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o he_o be_v content_v that_o the_o ungodly_a shall_v persecute_v he_o neither_o can_v he_o make_v they_o stand_v aloof_o off_o for_o he_o have_v neither_o rampare_v or_o bulwark_n that_o he_o be_v able_a to_o say_v you_o shall_v not_o come_v near_o i_o they_o have_v the_o power_n even_o to_o set_v their_o foot_n on_o our_o throat_n yea_o and_o to_o swallow_v we_o clean_o up_o let_v we_o consider_v that_o it_o have_v be_v the_o will_n of_o our_o god_n in_o all_o age_n to_o have_v his_o child_n subject_a to_o the_o malice_n of_o their_o enemy_n let_v we_o also_o have_v a_o further_a consideration_n of_o this_o which_o he_o say_v that_o they_o be_v far_o from_o the_o law_n of_o god_n for_o this_o import_v that_o they_o neither_o have_v truth_n nor_o equity_n in_o they_o when_o then_o the_o ungodly_a shall_v with_o the_o contempt_n of_o god_n and_o a_o extreme_a impiety_n even_o rush_v upon_o we_o to_o overthrow_v we_o let_v we_o then_o i_o say_v remember_v the_o example_n of_o david_n and_o say_v wherefore_o do_v the_o wicked_a put_v back_o the_o attempt_n and_o to_o bear_v the_o blow_n wherewith_o the_o wicked_a shall_v assail_v us._n moreover_o let_v we_o besure_n &_o resolute_a that_o notwithstanding_o that_o the_o ungodly_a shall_v thus_o oppress_v we_o yet_o that_o god_n be_v not_o far_o from_o we_o although_o that_o we_o can_v not_o perceive_v it_o for_o god_n will_v oftentimes_o be_v near_o we_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v think_v that_o he_o be_v clean_o hide_a that_o be_v to_o say_v he_o show_v not_o unto_o we_o his_o power_n and_o virtue_n neither_o lay_v he_o it_o open_a at_o the_o first_o chop_n for_o will_v yet_o must_v we_o notwithstanding_o tarry_v his_o good_a leisure_n in_o sum_n we_o must_v always_o be_v resolute_a in_o this_o which_o david_n here_o speak_v of_o say_v be_v the_o ungodly_a nigh_o very_o well_o and_o god_n be_v at_o hand_n that_o be_v to_o say_v god_n be_v not_o asleep_a in_o heaven_n while_o these_o man_n be_v malicious_o imagine_v to_o do_v we_o hurt_v god_n his_o arm_n be_v not_o a_o cross_n neither_o be_v his_o hand_n close_v notwithstanding_o that_o these_o man_n seek_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o devour_v us._n god_n be_v not_o yet_o blind_a while_o these_o ungodly_a awake_a to_o destroy_v and_o confound_v us._n see_v then_o how_o god_n according_a to_o the_o necessity_n which_o he_o know_v to_o be_v in_o we_o will_v always_o be_v at_o hand_n so_o to_o assist_v we_o as_o that_o whatsoever_o mischief_n be_v near_o we_o it_o shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o overcome_v we_o yea_o invent_v the_o wicked_a what_o they_o can_v on_o all_o side_n this_o be_v it_o that_o david_n mean_v to_o signify_v in_o this_o place_n now_o he_o also_o say_v that_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n be_v true_a wherein_o he_o exhort_v we_o to_o have_v recourse_n unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n for_o although_o we_o be_v thus_o torment_v and_o fast_o close_v up_o in_o sorrow_n and_o grief_n yea_o and_o that_o we_o look_v this_o way_n and_o that_o way_n for_o help_n and_o to_o have_v god_n to_o show_v himself_o for_o like_a as_o we_o be_v fleshly_a so_o also_o will_v we_o have_v he_o to_o show_v himself_o unto_o we_o in_o a_o visible_a manner_n all_o this_o while_n his_o word_n be_v of_o no_o great_a authority_n with_o we_o for_o if_o he_o show_v we_o not_o why_o and_o wherefore_o we_o be_v not_o content_v with_o that_o which_o he_o have_v speak_v but_o we_o will_v forsooth_o see_v his_o hand_n altogether_o open_a wherefore_o this_o admonition_n which_o david_n
who_o he_o so_o great_o love_v as_o the_o scripture_n witness_v of_o he_o now_o here_o we_o be_v to_o note_v two_o thing_n the_o one_o be_v that_o when_o david_n desire_v god_n to_o look_v upon_o his_o affliction_n and_o to_o deliver_v he_o out_o of_o they_o he_o confess_v that_o he_o be_v astony_v as_o if_o god_n have_v turn_v his_o back_n upon_o he_o it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o david_n consider_v not_o of_o all_o that_o be_v too_o be_v consider_v neither_o do_v he_o conclude_v that_o god_n will_v cast_v off_o his_o child_n in_o such_o sort_n but_o yet_o so_o far_o forth_o as_o natural_a reason_n can_v reach_v see_v how_o he_o may_v judge_v of_o his_o estate_n and_o at_o that_o point_n also_o be_v all_o the_o child_n of_o god_n for_o on_o the_o one_o side_n when_o as_o they_o shall_v look_v upon_o their_o own_o state_n and_o condition_n they_o can_v choose_v but_o that_o they_o must_v be_v force_v to_o say_v what_o a_o thing_n be_v this_o sure_o if_o god_n have_v any_o compassion_n upon_o we_o and_o that_o he_o see_v we_o be_v it_o possible_a that_o ever_o we_o shall_v be_v thus_o cruel_o handle_v will_v not_o he_o take_v some_o better_a order_n for_o this_o see_v then_o that_o we_o can_v choose_v but_o to_o conceive_v these_o and_o such_o like_a imagination_n in_o our_o heart_n when_o as_o we_o be_v greeve_v and_o persecute_v and_o look_v into_o our_o own_o present_a estate_n yea_o even_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v we_o can_v choose_v even_o too_o feel_v ourselves_o as_o it_o be_v to_o be_v forsake_v of_o god._n and_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o we_o must_v be_v full_o persuade_v and_o resolve_v that_o god_n behold_v we_o and_o although_o it_o seem_v that_o he_o have_v turn_v his_o back_n upon_o we_o yet_o that_o he_o cease_v not_o too_o help_v we_o and_o be_v careful_a for_o our_o salvation_n yea_o and_o though_o we_o see_v nothing_o yet_o let_v we_o hold_v this_o for_o a_o certain_a and_o a_o undoubted_a truth_n in_o our_o heart_n and_o therefore_o so_o often_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v thus_o trouble_v to_o think_v that_o god_n have_v no_o long_a care_n over_o we_o but_o that_o he_o have_v clere_o forsake_v we_o yet_o let_v not_o this_o hinder_v we_o from_o pray_v after_o the_o example_n of_o david_n neither_o let_v we_o be_v slack_a but_o even_o say_v o_o lord_n behold_v i_o in_o the_o second_o place_n we_o have_v to_o note_v the_o reason_n which_o david_n here_o set_v down_o for_o i_o do_v not_o forget_v thy_o law_n if_o then_o we_o will_v have_v god_n to_o hear_v we_o we_o must_v have_v his_o law_n as_o it_o be_v full_o settle_v in_o our_o heart_n and_o how_o be_v that_o forsooth_o we_o must_v think_v and_o study_v upon_o his_o promise_n we_o must_v know_v he_o to_o be_v love_v and_o merciful_a to_o help_v all_o those_o that_o be_v he_o and_o too_o aid_v they_o in_o all_o their_o necessity_n and_o beside_o this_o must_v be_v our_o sure_a foundation_n that_o his_o promise_n be_v infallible_a and_o that_o he_o will_v not_o suffer_v his_o child_n to_o go_v empty_a away_o when_o as_o they_o shall_v tend_v themselves_o thereto_o see_v then_o how_o we_o must_v meditate_v upon_o the_o law_n of_o god_n that_o be_v to_o say_v upon_o his_o word_n for_o under_o this_o word_n the_o law_n there_o be_v no_o doubt_n but_o that_o david_n comprehend_v the_o sum_n of_o all_o the_o doctrine_n which_o god_n give_v unto_o his_o church_n every_o of_o we_o than_o must_v be_v exercise_v in_o this_o study_n and_o we_o have_v the_o law_n thus_o imprint_v in_o our_o heart_n may_v be_v certain_a and_o sure_a that_o god_n behold_v we_o and_o will_v help_v we_o in_o all_o our_o affliction_n yea_o although_o it_o seem_v and_o we_o may_v judge_v according_a to_o our_o carnal_a sense_n that_o he_o have_v turn_v his_o back_n upon_o we_o or_o that_o he_o have_v close_v up_o his_o eye_n and_o sleep_v and_o as_o a_o man_n will_v say_v never_o think_v more_o of_o us._n now_o it_o follow_v in_o the_o second_o verse_n plead_v my_o cause_n and_o deliver_v i_o quicken_v i_o according_a unto_o thy_o word_n here_o david_n express_v what_o this_o his_o affection_n be_v whereof_o he_o have_v speak_v too_o wit_n how_o that_o the_o wicked_a unjust_o persecute_v he_o as_o again_o hereafter_o shall_v more_o at_o large_a be_v declare_v now_o we_o know_v that_o the_o grief_n which_o the_o child_n of_o god_n do_v be_v admonish_v according_a to_o that_o which_o i_o have_v already_o say_v that_o when_o we_o have_v live_v in_o a_o good_a conscience_n and_o have_v travel_v even_o to_o do_v good_a unto_o every_o man_n so_o that_o no_o man_n have_v any_o cause_n just_o to_o complain_v of_o we_o yet_o although_o we_o be_v persecute_v and_o trouble_v we_o must_v not_o for_o all_o that_o be_v overmuch_o abash_v because_o as_o great_a matter_n as_o all_o these_o be_v lay_v upon_o david_n for_o this_o be_v most_o sure_a that_o he_o walk_v so_o marvelous_a sound_o as_o that_o every_o man_n have_v occasion_n too_o love_v he_o and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o he_o be_v not_o without_o trouble_n amongst_o man_n and_o why_o so_o because_o of_o their_o unthankfulness_n let_v we_o then_o understande_v that_o much_o for_o this_o now_o in_o the_o second_o place_n we_o be_v to_o beseech_v god_n too_o avenge_v our_o cause_n too_o comfort_v we_o when_o we_o see_v ourselves_o to_o be_v wrongful_o deal_v withal_o when_o as_o we_o be_v oppress_v with_o false_a and_o slanderous_a report_n that_o we_o be_v evil_o speak_v of_o without_o just_a desert_n we_o must_v they_o desire_v god_n to_o be_v our_o warrant_n and_o deliverer_n and_o let_v we_o not_o doubt_v but_o that_o he_o will_v take_v our_o cause_n into_o his_o own_o hand_n &_o show_v himself_o to_o be_v more_o than_o a_o protector_n &_o lawyer_n for_o he_o say_v that_o he_o be_v the_o adverse_a party_n for_o the_o maintenance_n and_o defence_n of_o the_o cause_n and_o quarrel_n of_o all_o his_o when_o as_o they_o shall_v have_v walk_v sincere_o before_o himself_o &_o before_o man_n loe_o here_o a_o notable_a and_o very_o profitable_a admonition_n that_o be_v we_o must_v cast_v all_o our_o care_n upon_o god_n when_o as_o we_o be_v wrongful_o accuse_v injurious_o deal_v withal_o trouble_v and_o oppress_v and_o beseech_v god_n to_o take_v the_o cause_n into_o his_o own_o hand_n and_o to_o avenge_v it_o himself_o now_o this_o may_v serve_v too_o make_v we_o patient_a for_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n that_o man_n so_o trouble_v and_o torment_v themselves_o wax_v so_o fierce_a and_o cruel_a use_v revenge_n or_o else_o grow_v to_o be_v very_a coward_n when_o any_o wrong_n be_v do_v they_o but_o because_o that_o they_o have_v not_o recourse_n unto_o god_n put_v not_o themselves_o under_o his_o protection_n &_o pray_v he_o not_o to_o hold_v his_o holy_a hand_n over_o they_o and_o to_o defend_v their_o cause_n now_o if_o we_o know_v this_o it_o be_v most_o certain_a that_o our_o heart_n shall_v incontinent_a be_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o quiet_a and_o let_v we_o not_o have_v such_o boil_a affection_n as_o we_o have_v to_o be_v avenge_v of_o they_o which_o trouble_v we_o but_o let_v we_o follow_v the_o doctrine_n which_o be_v here_o set_v down_o unto_o we_o to_o wit_n that_o when_o we_o be_v unjust_o entreat_v let_v we_o pray_v unto_o god_n that_o he_o will_v avenge_v our_o cause_n and_o beside_o also_o let_v we_o learn_v to_o stay_v ourselves_o of_o the_o promise_n which_o be_v make_v unto_o we_o thereof_o for_o
that_o in_o this_o world_n he_o have_v care_n over_o we_o and_o our_o life_n be_v as_o it_o be_v commit_v unto_o he_o so_o that_o herein_o lie_v the_o whole_a substance_n that_o after_o he_o have_v which_o he_o protest_v and_o thereupon_o say_v quicken_v i_o according_a unto_o thy_o mercy_n if_o david_n then_o love_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n and_o his_o testimony_n wherefore_o desire_v attribute_v this_o title_n to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o david_n here_o show_v us._n in_o sum_n when_o as_o we_o will_v have_v a_o perfect_a assurance_n to_o be_v confirm_v and_o strengthen_v in_o all_o temptation_n so_o that_o the_o devil_n shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o take_v fast_o hold_v upon_o we_o let_v we_o have_v this_o regard_n to_o stay_v ourselves_o chief_o upon_o the_o word_n whatsoever_o and_o they_o think_v it_o not_o enough_o that_o they_o show_v themselves_o in_o deed_n open_o to_o mock_v god_n but_o their_o devilish_a doctrine_n also_o emport_v the_o same_o that_o they_o can_v but_o merit_n have_v this_o final_a meaning_n to_o praise_v god_n so_o that_o when_o a_o cannon_n have_v put_v on_o his_o grayamisse_o and_o surplice_n and_o go_v out_o of_o his_o chamber_n with_o this_o final_a intent_n and_o yet_o anon_o after_o think_v of_o his_o gossip_n his_o cheer_n and_o his_o pastime_n yea_o that_o he_o play_v the_o hypocrite_n there_o yet_o forsooth_o he_o must_v needs_o merit_v it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o they_o will_v confess_v that_o there_o be_v venial_a sin_n intermeddle_v amongst_o but_o yet_o that_o the_o same_o can_v hinder_v they_o from_o merit_v when_o as_o they_o have_v this_o final_a intent_n to_o praise_n god_n yea_o and_o so_o also_o as_o that_o when_o they_o come_v home_o again_o untoo_o their_o house_n they_o think_v themselves_o to_o have_v discharge_v their_o duty_n to_o be_v short_a so_o that_o at_o the_o beginning_n and_o the_o end_n they_o have_v some_o motion_n to_o devotion_n it_o be_v enough_o and_o be_v not_o this_o whole_o to_o mock_v god_n and_o to_o dally_v with_o he_o more_o than_o a_o man_n will_v dandle_v a_o young_a child_n but_o see_v how_o this_o miserable_a curse_a people_n have_v pervert_v all_o the_o holy_a scripture_n in_o mingle_v it_o with_o so_o shameful_a thing_n that_o even_o the_o very_a heathen_a when_o as_o they_o shall_v have_v get_v the_o understanding_n of_o the_o least_o spark_n of_o truth_n will_v be_v ashamed_a too_o see_v such_o service_n in_o the_o papacy_n too_o be_v call_v godly_a service_n when_o it_o be_v all_o after_o this_o manner_n i_o pray_v you_o what_o praise_v of_o god_n shall_v there_o remain_v let_v we_o then_o understande_v that_o these_o people_n be_v very_o far_o from_o david_n and_o that_o if_o we_o will_v take_v example_n by_o they_o they_o right_o well_o show_v that_o they_o know_v not_o what_o it_o be_v too_o praise_n god_n but_o rather_o profane_v his_o holy_a name_n when_o as_o they_o will_v thrust_v in_o such_o abomination_n among_o as_o we_o daily_o see_v they_o to_o commit_v against_o his_o word_n now_o david_n add_v soon_o after_o they_o which_o love_v thy_o law_n shall_v have_v great_a prosperity_n and_o they_o shall_v have_v paradise_n he_o speak_v of_o this_o true_a prosperity_n which_o the_o child_n of_o god_n have_v when_o they_o be_v content_v to_o serve_v he_o that_o in_o all_o their_o grief_n yea_o in_o all_o by_o reason_n they_o know_v not_o what_o god_n nor_o his_o word_n be_v without_o it_o be_v to_o hate_v he_o and_o too_o anger_v he_o it_o be_v meet_v that_o they_o prove_v by_o experiment_n the_o contrary_a of_o that_o which_o be_v here_o speak_v of_o by_o david_n to_o wit_n because_o they_o love_v not_o the_o law_n of_o god_n it_o be_v good_a reason_n that_o they_o shall_v be_v inward_o trouble_v and_o greevous_o torment_v without_o end_n now_o it_o follow_v lord_n i_o have_v trust_v in_o thy_o save_a health_n and_o have_v do_v thy_o

our_o earthly_a affection_n wherefore_o this_o be_v a_o lesson_n which_o ought_v many_o time_n too_o put_v we_o in_o mind_n that_o if_o we_o will_v pray_v unto_o god_n according_a unto_o his_o will_n
