of_o thy_o testimony_n be_v everlasting_a grant_v i_o understanding_n and_o i_o shall_v live_v it_o be_v certain_a that_o there_o be_v no_o man_n but_o will_v easy_o grant_n the_o law_n of_o god_n to_o be_v both_o good_a and_o holy_a and_o that_o we_o ought_v not_o only_o to_o allow_v of_o it_o but_o also_o to_o receive_v it_o with_o all_o fear_n and_o reverence_n notwithstanding_o there_o be_v very_o few_o touch_v with_o this_o affection_n to_o understand_v that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o perfection_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v find_v therein_o but_o all_o purity_n and_o sincerity_n and_o too_o be_v so_o infallible_a a_o truth_n &_o a_o righteousness_n so_o certain_a as_o possible_a can_v not_o be_v more_o certain_a and_o sure_a but_o very_o few_o there_o be_v which_o understand_v this_o or_o at_o the_o jest_n which_o be_v very_o great_o touch_v herewith_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v not_o without_o cause_n that_o david_n in_o this_o present_a psalm_n use_v such_o a_o repetition_n that_o he_o so_o high_o magnify_v the_o doctrine_n which_o he_o have_v learn_v out_o of_o the_o law_n of_o god_n to_o the_o end_n too_o declare_v untoo_o we_o that_o we_o have_v great_o profit_v when_o we_o shall_v have_v such_o a_o savour_n and_o judgement_n thorough_o imprint_v in_o our_o heart_n when_o as_o i_o say_v this_o righteousness_n this_o wisdom_n and_o this_o sincerity_n which_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v very_o well_o and_o thorough_o know_v unto_o we_o then_o may_v we_o be_v able_a to_o say_v with_o david_n righteous_a art_n thou_o o_o lord_n and_o true_a in_o thy_o judgement_n now_o as_o the_o holy_a spirit_n of_o god_n speak_v by_o the_o mouth_n david_n have_v set_v down_o here_o no_o superfluous_a matter_n but_o such_o as_o he_o know_v to_o be_v profitable_a for_o our_o instruction_n let_v we_o also_o dillgent_o weigh_v and_o consider_v all_o the_o word_n which_o be_v here_o touch_v in_o the_o first_o place_n he_o say_v righteous_a art_n thou_o o_o lord_n and_o true_a in_o thy_o judgement_n we_o have_v already_o heretofore_o handle_v that_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n in_o this_o psalm_n be_v call_v the_o commandment_n of_o the_o law_n which_o he_o give_v unto_o we_o to_o rule_v our_o life_n by_o even_o so_o when_o david_n say_v that_o god_n be_v righteous_a &_o true_a in_o his_o judgement_n it_o be_v asmuch_o as_n if_o he_o have_v say_v that_o god_n have_v declare_v what_o his_o nature_n be_v in_o his_o law_n that_o we_o may_v behold_v he_o in_o it_o as_o in_o a_o glass_n this_o then_o be_v asmuch_o as_n if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v o_o lord_n we_o have_v thy_o image_n true_o and_o lively_o picture_v and_o express_v in_o this_o doctrine_n which_o thou_o have_v deliver_v unto_o we_o in_o thy_o law_n there_o we_o see_v thou_o to_o be_v righteous_a and_o also_o that_o thou_o have_v command_v nothing_o therein_o which_o tend_v not_o to_o the_o same_o end_n will_v we_o they_o magnify_v god_n aright_o we_o must_v know_v he_o to_o be_v such_o a_o one_o as_o he_o show_v himself_o to_o be_v by_o his_o word_n &_o not_o to_o fashion_v ourselves_o like_o unto_o a_o great_a number_n of_o scoffer_n which_o will_v not_o stick_v to_o say_v that_o god_n be_v altogether_o good_a wise_a and_o righteous_a but_o yet_o they_o will_v separate_v themselves_o from_o his_o word_n forge_v themselves_o a_o god_n in_o the_o air_n or_o else_o they_o will_v be_v content_v that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o medley_n as_o that_o there_o be_v no_o more_o divinity_n know_v now_o see_v how_o god_n show_v himself_o as_o i_o have_v say_v by_o his_o word_n we_o must_v then_o if_o we_o intend_v to_o confess_v he_o to_o be_v righteous_a good_a true_a &_o faithful_a to_o give_v these_o commendarion_n unto_o his_o word_n wherein_o he_o have_v once_o for_o all_o declare_v unto_o we_o his_o wil._n now_o after_o david_n have_v use_v this_o word_n righteous_a he_o add_v thou_o have_v command_v justice_n by_o thy_o testimome_n and_o truth_n especial_o see_v they_o how_o david_n handle_v it_o himself_o show_v that_o the_o law_n of_o god_n be_v whole_o righteous_a because_o say_v he_o that_o it_o lead_v we_o to_o righteousness_n and_o truth_n now_o when_o these_o two_o thing_n be_v in_o it_o what_o may_v we_o say_v but_o that_o which_o have_v already_o be_v before_o say_v what_o be_v that_o it_o be_v so_o far_o of_o with_o a_o great_a number_n that_o when_o they_o be_v convince_v hereof_o be_v persuade_v in_o good_a earnest_n to_o say_v amen_o without_o dissemble_a and_o to_o prove_v it_o to_o be_v so_o how_o many_o man_n shall_v we_o see_v submit_v themselves_o in_o this_o point_n to_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n whereunto_o he_o desire_v to_o lead_v we_o by_o his_o word_n how_o many_o i_o say_v shall_v we_o find_v which_o will_v yield_v themselves_o teachable_a unto_o it_o but_o contrariwise_o we_o shall_v find_v the_o great_a part_n clean_a contrary_n it_o be_v very_o true_a we_o shall_v be_v ashamed_a yea_o even_o horrible_o afraid_a to_o say_v that_o there_o be_v any_o thing_n in_o the_o law_n of_o god_n which_o be_v not_o true_a &_o just_a &_o yet_o for_o all_o
recourse_n in_o all_o our_o necessity_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o point_n the_o second_o be_v when_o that_o we_o shall_v have_v have_v our_o refuge_n to_o god_n we_o may_v find_v in_o he_o wherewith_o full_o to_o rejoice_v us._n thus_o much_o then_o for_o the_o second_o the_o three_o be_v that_o if_o we_o will_v obtain_v tobe_n restore_v at_o god_n hand_n we_o be_v as_o it_o be_v dead_a and_o confound_v shall_v look_v unto_o his_o promise_n for_o behold_v he_o will_v give_v we_o encouragement_n to_o come_v unto_o he_o we_o have_v here_o then_o a_o good_a admonition_n and_o very_o profitable_a that_o be_v that_o as_o often_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v overwhelm_v with_o all_o the_o misery_n that_o can_v be_v we_o shall_v yet_o look_v unto_o god_n because_o that_o then_o he_o will_v seek_v after_o we_o more_o than_o ever_o he_o do_v before_o will_v we_o to_o come_v unto_o he_o but_o here_o we_o be_v to_o note_v that_o there_o be_v not_o any_o so_o great_a a_o misery_n which_o ought_v to_o let_v and_o stay_v we_o from_o come_v straight_o on_o unto_o he_o for_o david_n confess_v that_o he_o be_v become_v as_o a_o dead_a man_n when_o then_o we_o shall_v be_v even_a as_o it_o be_v at_o the_o last_o cast_v as_o we_o say_v that_o we_o can_v no_o more_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v as_o a_o man_n will_v say_v oppress_v and_o overcome_v with_o sorrow_n and_o grief_n yea_o and_o that_o the_o grave_n even_o gape_v to_o swallow_v we_o up_o let_v we_o not_o for_o all_o that_o cease_v to_o beseech_v god_n to_o restore_v us._n for_o it_o belong_v proper_o unto_o he_o when_o he_o have_v appeal_v and_o bring_v we_o to_o death_n door_n to_o restore_v and_o quicken_v we_o again_o but_o we_o be_v to_o understande_v that_o we_o must_v not_o come_v unto_o he_o after_o a_o hypocritical_a manner_n we_o must_v not_o require_v he_o too_o restore_v we_o and_o yet_o have_v our_o mind_n wander_v here_o and_o there_o neither_o yet_o must_v we_o seek_v for_o that_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n which_o we_o make_v countenance_n to_o seek_v for_o at_o his_o hand_n we_o must_v not_o make_v we_o two_o way_n to_o the_o wood_n as_o we_o say_v but_o our_o whole_a delight_n and_o contentation_n must_v be_v in_o god_n and_o in_o his_o grace_n that_o it_o suffice_v we_o to_o have_v he_o only_o and_o to_o feel_v his_o mercy_n and_o compassion_n towards_o we_o and_o when_o we_o have_v get_v that_o to_o be_v content_v only_o therewith_o but_o because_o we_o can_v not_o come_v unto_o god_n without_o he_o himself_o draw_v we_o when_o as_o we_o desire_v he_o to_o restore_v we_o and_o to_o stretch_v out_o his_o hand_n unto_o we_o we_o must_v add_v thereto_o this_o say_n here_o express_v to_o wit_n that_o he_o will_v quicken_v we_o according_a to_o his_o word_n now_o by_o this_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v we_o be_v teach_v that_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o death_n we_o find_v salvation_n and_o health_n because_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n never_o fail_v us._n it_o follow_v in_o the_o second_o verse_n i_o have_v declare_v my_o way_n and_o thou_o hear_v i_o teach_v i_o thy_o statute_n here_o david_n allege_v another_o reason_n that_o god_n hear_v he_o to_o wit_n that_o this_o be_v not_o the_o first_o time_n that_o he_o have_v hear_v he_o neither_o yet_o that_o god_n be_v merciful_a and_o liberal_a to_o grant_v unto_o his_o faithful_a their_o petition_n and_o request_n but_o we_o in_o very_a deed_n must_v in_o continue_v the_o matter_n which_o we_o be_v here_o in_o hand_n to_o open_v be_v thorough_o assure_v and_o resolve_v that_o it_o be_v not_o in_o vain_a when_o as_o we_o make_v our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n neither_o yet_o that_o we_o lose_v our_o labour_n but_o that_o our_o prayer_n shall_v profit_v us._n we_o must_v therefore_o be_v full_o resolve_v herein_o and_o how_o must_v that_o be_v forsooth_o david_n even_o very_o now_o allege_v unto_o god_n his_o promise_n assure_v himself_o that_o he_o receive_v they_o through_o his_o mere_a mercy_n and_o goodness_n and_o this_o be_v no_o foolehardinesse_n even_o so_o then_o let_v we_o in_o no_o case_n fear_v to_o come_v unto_o god_n bold_o and_o cheerful_o upon_o this_o condition_n yea_o so_o long_o as_o we_o build_v upon_o his_o promise_n we_o must_v not_o come_v unto_o he_o according_a to_o our_o own_o fantasy_n neither_o must_v we_o allege_v and_o say_v my_o god_n i_o present_v myself_o here_o before_o thy_o majesty_n because_o i_o think_v or_o suppose_v that_o thou_o ought_v to_o hear_v i_o this_o be_v too_o too_o fond_a and_o lewd_a arrogancy_n but_o to_o say_v alas_o my_o good_a god_n it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o i_o be_o not_o worthy_a to_o come_v near_o unto_o thy_o presence_n and_o although_o it_o shall_v seem_v to_o i_o that_o i_o may_v approach_v to_o thou_o yet_o must_v i_o pull_v back_o that_o foot_n again_o nevertheless_o since_o thou_o bid_v i_o to_o come_v unto_o thou_o and_o have_v command_v i_o to_o call_v upon_o thou_o and_o promise_v also_o for_o to_o hear_v i_o loe_o here_o my_o god_n the_o cause_n which_o make_v i_o so_o bold_a not_o to_o doubt_v to_o come_v unto_o thou_o because_o i_o believe_v thy_o word_n and_o now_o o_o lord_n i_o stand_v in_o no_o doubt_n that_o thou_o will_v not_o receive_v i_o when_o as_o i_o thus_o build_v upon_o thy_o promise_n after_o david_n have_v use_v this_o kind_n of_o speech_n to_o stir_v himself_o up_o to_o pray_v unto_o god_n and_o also_o to_o obtain_v his_o request_n he_o add_v o_o lord_n i_o have_v acknowledge_v my_o way_n and_o thou_o hear_v i_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v over_o and_o beside_o thy_o promise_n my_o god_n there_o be_v another_o reason_n which_o enbolden_v and_o encourage_v i_o to_o come_v unto_o thou_o to_o wit_n the_o experience_n which_o thou_o have_v show_v unto_o i_o of_o thy_o great_a goodness_n i_o never_o require_v any_o thing_n of_o thou_o in_o mynecessitie_n but_o thou_o do_v hear_v i_o to_o wit_n but_o that_o thou_o satiffy_v my_o request_n but_o that_o i_o have_v feel_v how_o thou_o have_v relieve_v thy_o servant_n and_o have_v always_o be_v ready_a to_o succour_n they_o in_o their_o distress_n yea_o o_o lord_n and_o that_o thou_o have_v not_o tarry_v nor_o wait_v until_o they_o come_v unto_o thou_o but_o have_v even_o offer_v thyself_o first_o unto_o they_o see_v then_o it_o be_v so_o that_o thou_o have_v show_v thyself_o to_o be_v so_o good_a and_o liberal_a o_o i_o now_o doubt_v not_o but_o that_o thou_o will_v continue_v the_o same_o thy_o goodness_n wherefore_o i_o beseech_v thou_o teach_v i_o thy_o statute_n see_v here_o a_o text_n worthy_a the_o mark_v for_o as_o i_o have_v before_o say_v we_o must_v not_o come_v unto_o god_n doubt_v and_o waver_v but_o with_o full_a resolution_n that_o he_o will_v hear_v us._n and_o how_o be_v that_o o_o we_o have_v a_o most_o sure_a and_o infallible_a testimony_n too_o wit_n he_o have_v promise_v too_o be_v near_o unto_o all_o those_o which_o shall_v crave_v and_o beg_v of_o he_o in_o truth_n we_o may_v then_o say_v we_o beseech_v thou_o o_o lord_n to_o have_v regard_n unto_o we_o according_a too_o thy_o word_n it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o we_o be_v unwoorthy_a that_o thou_o shall_v be_v careful_a over_o we_o but_o so_o it_o be_v that_o have_v thy_o word_n and_o promise_n we_o may_v bold_o come_v unto_o thou_o and_o beside_o let_v we_o add_v there_o too_o the_o experience_n which_o god_n have_v already_o show_v untoo_o we_o that_o he_o never_o forget_v his_o but_o preserve_v and_o keepesh_n they_o and_o always_o watch_v over_o they_o and_o why_o so_o that_o we_o ought_v to_o be_v much_o more_o heedful_a than_o we_o be_v of_o all_o the_o benefit_n of_o god_n too_o the_o end_n we_o may_v come_v too_o this_o consideration_n of_o the_o reason_n which_o david_n here_o bring_v in_o too_o wit_n that_o we_o may_v say_v untoo_o god_n that_o he_o have_v hear_v us._n now_o there_o be_v very_o few_o of_o we_o that_o can_v do_v this_o and_o why_o so_o because_o that_o when_o we_o be_v in_o any_o distress_n we_o never_o think_v to_o call_v upon_o god_n yea_o although_o the_o grief_n or_o disease_n press_v and_o grieve_v we_o never_o so_o much_o and_o yet_o if_o we_o do_v then_o call_v upon_o he_o it_o be_v so_o that_o assoon_o as_o we_o have_v escape_v the_o danger_n we_o will_v not_o acknowledge_v it_o too_o be_v god_n that_o have_v have_v pity_n and_o compassion_n upon_o we_o but_o be_v quite_o out_o of_o memory_n and_o tread_v clean_o under_o foot_n by_o cause_n then_o we_o remember_v not_o the_o benefit_n of_o god_n loe_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o we_o can_v
will_v glad_o resist_v all_o temtation_n but_o what_o they_o compound_v with_o the_o devil_n conspire_v with_o he_o too_o set_v themselves_o against_o god_n flatter_v themselves_o in_o all_o their_o iniquity_n and_o desire_v whole_o to_o give_v themselves_o to_o all_o wickedness_n be_v not_o here_o i_o beseech_v you_o fair_a and_o proper_a petition_n which_o we_o make_v with_o the_o mouth_n when_o as_o the_o hart_n bend_v itself_o altogether_o to_o mischief_n and_o iniquity_n be_v not_o this_o i_o pray_v you_o to_o mock_v god_n what_o other_o thing_n else_o be_v it_o let_v we_o then_o learn_v to_o say_v with_o david_n o_o lord_n i_o have_v choose_v the_o way_n of_o truth_n and_o have_v sticken_fw-mi to_o thy_o testimony_n when_o he_o say_v that_o he_o have_v choose_v the_o way_n of_o truth_n he_o mean_v that_o he_o desined_a nothing_o else_o but_o to_o follow_v that_o which_o be_v right_a and_o good_a as_o god_n have_v show_v it_o unto_o he_o when_o he_o say_v that_o he_o cleave_v to_o the_o testimony_n of_o god_n he_o declare_v what_o truth_n that_o be_v whereof_o he_o make_v mention_v for_o man_n many_o time_n imagine_v unto_o themselves_o certain_a fantasy_n in_o their_o head_n and_o think_v the_o same_o to_o be_v the_o best_a &_o most_o sure_a foundation_n in_o the_o world_n and_o that_o there_o be_v no_o other_o reason_n truth_n nor_o wisdom_n but_o that_o which_o they_o have_v conceive_v in_o their_o own_o brain_n let_v we_o now_o beware_v of_o that_o and_o assure_v ourselves_o that_o truth_n self_n be_v enclose_v within_o the_o word_n of_o god_n &_o that_o that_o be_v it_o which_o we_o must_v seek_v and_o not_o to_o have_v we_o think_v that_o to_o be_v the_o truth_n which_o we_o in_o our_o own_o fantasy_n do_v judge_v too_o be_v good_a but_o even_o then_o have_v we_o choose_v the_o way_n of_o truth_n when_o as_o we_o shall_v stick_v to_o the_o testimony_n of_o god_n when_o we_o shall_v understand_v and_o know_v that_o it_o be_v he_o only_a which_o may_v lead_v we_o straight_o and_o that_o we_o have_v do_v this_o honour_n unto_o his_o word_n to_o be_v rule_v thereby_o all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n loe_o how_o we_o shall_v follow_v the_o way_n of_o truth_n now_o when_o david_n have_v make_v all_o these_o protestation_n he_o desire_v that_o he_o may_v be_v confound_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v my_o god_n since_o point_v at_o that_o even_o young_a child_n may_v perceive_v their_o beastlynesse_n and_o be_v very_o well_o worthy_a so_o to_o be_v serve_v and_o so_o lest_o we_o fall_v into_o such_o shame_n let_v shall_v have_v set_v our_o heart_n at_o liberty_n to_o wit_n that_o he_o shall_v have_v so_o dispose_v &_o order_v we_o as_o that_o we_o shall_v free_o bend_v ourselves_o &_o sully_v &_o whole_o yield_v our_o affection_n unto_o he_o for_o otherwise_o we_o have_v our_o heart_n fast_o shut_v up_o shall_v always_o become_v the_o bondslave_n of_o sin_n it_o be_v very_o true_a hat_n while_o we_o lord_n it_o be_v asmuch_o as_n if_o he_o have_v fayde_v o_o lord_n do_v i_o not_o only_o this_o grace_n that_o i_o trust_v secret_o in_o thou_o that_o i_o stay_v i_o upon_o thy_o promise_n that_o i_o stand_v sure_a against_o all_o the_o assault_n of_o my_o enemy_n but_o namely_o and_o chief_o even_o before_o the_o face_n of_o man_n that_o my_o faith_n may_v declare_v itself_o that_o by_o this_o to_o pass_v which_o he_o have_v speak_v but_o this_o avayl_v they_o nothing_o which_o be_v faithless_a for_o lo_o they_o be_v exclude_v from_o such_o a_o benefit_n be_v deprive_v of_o that_o promise_a what_o end_n thy_o belief_n serve_v when_o then_o we_o shall_v have_v our_o eye_n so_o fix_v upon_o god_n who_o have_v arm_v we_o with_o his_o infallible_a truth_n we_o may_v be_v able_a too_o withstand_v and_o fall_v out_o with_o all_o whatsoever_o that_o lift_v itself_o up_o too_o the_o contrary_a we_o shall_v have_v no_o occasion_n too_o fear_v the_o world_n for_o god_n be_v sufficient_o people_n do_v you_o think_v yourselves_o wise_a than_o all_o the_o king_n and_o prince_n of_o the_o world_n you_o see_v that_o all_o the_o world_n be_v against_o this_o doctrine_n which_o you_o hold_v &_o profess_v and_o what_o do_v you_o think_v to_o do_v true_a in_o deed_n that_o at_o the_o first_o sight_n this_o be_v even_o enough_o too_o shake_v we_o yea_o be_v it_o not_o that_o we_o know_v and_o be_v very_o certain_a but_o when_o we_o look_v unto_o god_n than_o all_o this_o gear_n vanish_v intoo_o smoke_n these_o be_v but_o bladder_n pufte_v full_a of_o wind_n and_o the_o jest_n pin_n point_n will_v empty_v they_o in_o very_a deed_n these_o will_v be_v great_a fraybugge_n but_o yet_o it_o will_v all_o prove_v nothing_o behold_v these_o frog_n behold_v these_o pismeres_n yea_o behold_v these_o fly_n and_o gnatte_n for_o they_o be_v all_o no_o better_o than_o very_a vermin_n and_o worm_n when_o as_o they_o shall_v lift_v themselves_o up_o thus_o against_o god_n so_o then_o let_v we_o learn_v yea_o let_v we_o learn_v to_o stay_v ourselves_o so_o upon_o god_n as_o that_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v call_v too_o make_v confession_n of_o our_o faith_n since_o it_o be_v so_o that_o it_o be_v god_n which_o have_v speak_v let_v all_o the_o creature_n in_o the_o world_n be_v nothing_o to_o we_o ward_n let_v we_o not_o be_v ashamed_a and_o let_v nothing_o hinder_v and_o stop_v we_o from_o maintain_v of_o his_o word_n in_o the_o end_n david_n conclude_v and_o say_v my_o hand_n also_o will_v i_o lift_v up_o unto_o thy_o commandment_n which_o i_o have_v love_v and_o also_o will_v i_o lift_v up_o unto_o thy_o commandment_n for_o this_o be_v as_o much_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v o_o lord_n i_o will_v not_o only_o protest_v with_o my_o mouth_n that_o i_o love_v thy_o word_n but_o i_o will_v also_o lift_v up_o my_o hand_n yea_o as_o we_o common_o say_v i_o will_v lift_v up_o my_o hand_n to_o the_o caky_a god_n by_o this_o he_o let_v we_o to_o understande_v that_o if_o we_o will_v serve_v god_n as_o become_v we_o that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o we_o to_o witness_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n with_o our_o mouth_n but_o we_o must_v also_o show_v by_o our_o good_a and_o godly_a life_n that_o which_o we_o protest_v with_o our_o mouth_n and_o that_o there_o be_v a_o accord_n and_o sweet_a harmony_n between_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o true_a it_o be_v we_o shall_v find_v some_o doubt_n when_o as_o there_o shall_v be_v any_o question_n of_o follow_v god_n but_o this_o sentence_n be_v to_o be_v note_v when_o he_o say_v i_o will_v lift_v up_o my_o hand_n and_o to_o know_v that_o when_o god_n shall_v see_v that_o it_o shall_v surpass_v our_o force_n and_o strength_n let_v we_o pray_v unto_o he_o to_o grant_v we_o that_o grace_n that_o and_o at_o quiet_a yet_o be_v the_o man_n never_o at_o rest_n but_o be_v continual_o chafe_v and_o trouble_v but_o thy_o truth_n o_o lord_n be_v sure_a and_o certain_a which_o can_v never_o be_v shake_v through_o the_o alteration_n and_o change_n which_o here_o we_o see_v no_o otherwise_o but_o by_o the_o lightness_n and_o inconstancy_n of_o man_n when_o as_o they_o do_v nothing_o else_o but_o wander_v here_o and_o there_o true_a it_o be_v o_o lord_n that_o all_o this_o impayr_v no_o whit_n the_o certainty_n of_o thy_o truth_n and_o word_n loe_o here_o in_o sum_n the_o meaning_n of_o david_n in_o this_o place_n now_o he_o bring_v in_o a_o proof_n of_o this_o sentence_n too_o wit_n that_o god_n have_v lay_v the_o foundation_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o it_o abide_v that_o be_v to_o say_v that_o the_o order_n of_o nature_n have_v her_o course_n and_o so_o continue_v without_o end_n and_o why_o so_o forsomuch_o as_o god_n have_v appoint_v they_o because_o that_o he_o have_v so_o declare_v it_o and_o that_o all_o creature_n be_v subject_a unto_o he_o this_o dispose_n &_o order_n must_v needs_o continue_v in_o his_o estate_n and_o although_o we_o see_v all_o thing_n to_o turn_v on_o this_o side_n and_o on_o that_o yet_o god_n always_o give_v we_o some_o visible_a sign_n too_o show_v we_o that_o he_o never_o alter_v nor_o change_v his_o purpose_n and_o chief_o that_o his_o truth_n be_v never_o subject_v too_o any_o change_n we_o see_v now_o in_o sum_n what_o the_o substance_n be_v that_o be_v contain_v in_o these_o three_o verse_n now_o that_o we_o may_v apply_v all_o this_o too_o our_o use_n and_o too_o make_v our_o profit_n hereof_o let_v we_o learn_v too_o have_v recourse_n unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n so_o often_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v astonysh_v and_o know_v not_o what_o shall_v become_v of_o we_o too_o wit_n all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n for_o there_o pass_v not_o one_o quiet_a day_n over_o our_o head_n wherein_o we_o be_v not_o move_v too_o think_v either_o of_o this_o thing_n or_o of_o that_o sometime_o the_o temptation_n be_v easy_a too_o overcome_v but_o after_o we_o shall_v see_v some_o apparaunce_n of_o danger_n that_o shall_v trouble_v we_o a_o great_a deal_n more_o yea_o and_o some_o one_o threat_n or_o other_o we_o shall_v have_v that_o shall_v even_o abash_v us._n and_o if_o that_o be_v not_o so_o yet_o shall_v we_o have_v occasion_n enough_o in_o out_o head_n too_o make_v we_o unquiet_a that_o we_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o be_v otherwise_o trouble_v but_o every_o one_o of_o we_o have_v in_o himself_o store_n of_o tempest_n &_o storm_n so_o that_o if_o there_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o our_o own_o very_a fantasye_n they_o will_v be_v so_o many_o whyrlewinde_n too_o make_v we_o never_o to_o have_v quiet_a mind_n now_o see_v then_o a_o good_a remedy_n that_o be_v let_v we_o know_v that_o although_o we_o be_v environ_v with_o a_o great_a number_n of_o danger_n although_o there_o be_v no_o certainty_n in_o our_o life_n although_o there_o be_v always_o a_o hundred_o death_n before_o our_o eye_n yea_o that_o we_o think_v the_o devil_n shall_v swallow_v we_o up_o every_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n yet_o must_v we_o be_v peaceable_a and_o hold_v ourselves_o quiet_a and_o still_o because_o that_o god_n have_v lay_v the_o foundation_n of_o our_o salvation_n in_o his_o word_n and_o that_o he_o have_v promise_v to_o keep_v our_o life_n when_o then_o we_o shall_v have_v the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o certify_v we_o that_o he_o have_v care_n both_o of_o our_o soul_n and_o body_n let_v we_o know_v and_o be_v certain_o assure_v that_o herein_o consist_v all_o our_o constancy_n so_o then_o let_v we_o right_o apply_v this_o doctrine_n for_o our_o instruction_n that_o when_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v permanent_a in_o heaven_n that_o his_o truth_n show_v itself_o from_o age_n to_o age_n &_o so_o continue_v that_o it_o be_v namely_o speak_v to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v patient_a in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o the_o trouble_n giefe_n and_o anguish_v which_o we_o may_v have_v be_v shake_v amid_o so_o many_o danger_n and_o also_o see_v the_o endless_a and_o incessant_a change_n which_o be_v here_o beneath_o and_o nothing_o else_o but_o all_o unquietness_n let_v we_o then_o see_v what_o be_v here_o to_o be_v consider_v for_o the_o first_o point_n we_o must_v not_o seek_v to_o take_v our_o rest_n in_o this_o world_n for_o we_o shall_v never_o have_v it_o here_o but_o let_v we_o always_o have_v our_o recourse_n too_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n moreover_o let_v we_o see_v if_o we_o can_v right_o practice_v this_o doctrine_n that_o nothing_o hinder_v we_o but_o that_o we_o may_v live_v in_o peace_n and_o tranquillity_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o the_o most_o great_a and_o dangerous_a confusion_n which_o may_v light_v upon_o us._n let_v we_o also_o see_v that_o whether_o the_o wind_n blow_v in_o this_o corner_n or_o in_o that_o that_o there_o be_v garboil_n of_o war_n that_o there_o be_v pestilence_n &_o famine_n and_o such_o like_a that_o it_o seem_v we_o shall_v perish_v a_o thousand_o manner_n of_o way_n yet_o all_o they_o which_o settle_v themselves_o upon_o the_o word_n of_o god_n will_v never_o be_v but_o certain_a for_o they_o shall_v feel_v both_o in_o life_n and_o death_n that_o they_o be_v in_o his_o hand_n and_o protection_n and_o have_v this_o confidence_n with_o themselves_o they_o will_v make_v no_o reckon_n of_o all_o whatsoever_o shall_v come_v unto_o they_o as_o we_o see_v saint_n paul_n command_v we_o too_o exalte_n ourselves_o against_o all_o thing_n present_a and_o too_o come_v so_o that_o we_o be_v full_o resolve_v that_o god_n love_v us._n when_o this_o shall_v be_v in_o we_o 8.38.39_o rom._n 8.38.39_o and_o we_o shall_v have_v hereof_o a_o good_a testimony_n in_o our_o own_o conscience_n through_o faith_n and_o the_o word_n of_o god_n loe_o how_o we_o may_v assure_v ourselves_o and_o solace_v ourselves_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o our_o trouble_n and_o confusion_n which_o here_o we_o see_v and_o by_o that_o mean_n be_v never_o at_o peace_n and_o rest_n and_o not_o too_o be_v great_o turmoil_v for_o any_o thing_n that_o may_v come_v unto_o we_o the_o next_o day_n and_o why_o so_o for_o have_v god_n who_o have_v declare_v himself_o unto_o we_o too_o be_v our_o father_n speak_v it_o but_o for_o a_o day_n only_o where_o as_o he_o have_v testify_v unto_o we_o that_o he_o will_v have_v our_o salvation_n in_o his_o hand_n be_v here_o any_o time_n lymit_v now_o we_o see_v too_o the_o contrary_a that_o god_n say_v that_o he_o will_v never_o forsake_v us._n our_o hope_n then_o
must_v stretch_v itself_o clean_o beyond_o the_o world_n and_o so_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v toss_v with_o the_o wind_n and_o tempest_n which_o shall_v blow_v against_o we_o to_o make_v we_o turn_v back_o when_o as_o we_o shall_v have_v a_o sure_a foundation_n upon_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o as_o concern_v this_o proof_n which_o david_n add_v say_v that_o god_n have_v lay_v the_o foundation_n of_o the_o earth_n the_o same_o be_v but_o a_o little_a taste_n which_o he_o give_v we_o of_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n now_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o for_o we_o to_o have_v this_o taste_n only_o to_o know_v whether_o god_n be_v faithful_a and_o that_o his_o truth_n be_v everlasting_a for_o to_o prove_v it_o to_o be_v so_o we_o see_v that_o neither_o heaven_n nor_o earth_n but_o be_v subject_a too_o corruption_n and_o that_o all_o must_v pass_v only_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v say_v too_o last_o for_o ever_o and_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v so_o for_o else_o what_o shall_v become_v of_o our_o salvation_n it_o shall_v be_v corrupt_a very_o soon_o let_v we_o not_o once_o think_v then_o that_o david_n his_o meaning_n here_o be_v too_o make_v a_o comparison_n and_o a_o equal_a proportion_n of_o the_o continuance_n of_o this_o world_n and_o the_o constancy_n which_o we_o see_v in_o the_o order_n of_o nature_n with_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n but_o he_o show_v unto_o we_o that_o even_o in_o these_o corruptible_a thing_n we_o may_v the_o better_o perceive_v how_o faithful_a god_n be_v and_o if_o he_o be_v true_a in_o these_o thing_n on_o the_o earth_n what_o shall_v he_o himself_o then_o be_v i_o beseech_v you_o tell_v i_o from_z whence_o have_v the_o earth_n her_o foundation_n it_o be_v found_v both_o upon_o the_o water_n and_o also_o upon_o the_o air_n loe_o her_o foundation_n we_o can_v not_o possible_o build_v a_o house_n fifteen_o foot_n hight_v upon_o the_o firm_a ground_n but_o that_o we_o must_v lay_v a_o foundation_n see_v all_o the_o whole_a earth_n be_v found_v only_o waver_v and_o as_o it_o be_v hang_v yea_o and_o upon_o so_o bottomless_a deapthes_fw-mi as_o that_o it_o may_v be_v turn_v upsidedowne_v in_o the_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n and_o the_o whole_a substance_n of_o it_o utter_o overthrow_v it_o must_v needs_o then_o be_v that_o there_o be_v a_o wonderful_a power_n of_o god_n show_v in_o the_o conserve_n of_o it_o in_o the_o same_o sort_n it_o stand_v and_o that_o be_v it_o which_o be_v here_o show_v unto_o we_o to_o wit_n because_o that_o god_n have_v say_v that_o the_o earth_n be_v in_o the_o midst_n of_o the_o world_n and_o that_o it_o be_v so_o lay_v as_o it_o be_v hereby_o we_o know_v what_o the_o certainty_n of_o his_o truth_n be_v but_o we_o must_v here_o forsooth_o compare_v the_o less_o thing_n with_o the_o great_a as_o we_o say_v how_o from_o the_o lesser_a to_o the_o great_a i_o will_v show_v you_o by_o example_n if_o i_o say_v we_o do_v see_v such_o excellency_n in_o the_o body_n of_o a_o man_n as_o that_o it_o may_v bethink_v to_o be_v even_o the_o very_a image_n of_o god_n whereby_o we_o know_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v write_v that_o god_n have_v ordain_v man_n to_o be_v the_o chief_a of_o all_o his_o creature_n and_o give_v he_o great_a dignity_n nobleness_n and_o power_n over_o all_o live_a creature_n 8.6_o psal_n 8.6_o even_o so_o also_o in_o praise_v that_o which_o be_v in_o man_n we_o may_v descend_v from_o the_o body_n to_o the_o soul_n and_o this_o be_v from_o the_o hy_a too_o the_o low_a and_o from_o the_o less_o to_o the_o more_o so_o likewise_o be_v it_o in_o this_o place_n when_o david_n set_v before_o our_o eye_n the_o order_n of_o nature_n this_o be_v not_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v to_o measure_v and_o compare_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n with_o such_o a_o measure_n but_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v reason_v and_o say_v if_o in_o these_o frail_a and_o transitory_a thing_n which_o be_v subject_a to_o corruption_n we_o see_v such_o a_o constancy_n because_o it_o be_v god_n his_o will_v it_o shall_v be_v so_o what_o shall_v we_o then_o say_v of_o his_o truth_n which_o surpass_v all_o the_o world_n when_o then_o we_o shall_v make_v such_o a_o comparison_n between_o the_o state_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n we_o may_v certain_o conclude_v that_o god_n sufficien_o grant_v we_o wherewith_o too_o settle_v ourselves_o upon_o his_o word_n we_o must_v not_o be_v so_o inconstant_a as_o too_o let_v our_o faith_n be_v shake_v so_o often_o as_o we_o shall_v see_v the_o world_n toss_v with_o any_o trouble_n but_o rather_o too_o take_v this_o place_n which_o be_v here_o show_v unto_o we_o by_o david_n for_o our_o refuge_n and_o this_o be_v the_o sum_n of_o this_o place_n now_o it_o follow_v afterward_o except_o the_o lord_n have_v be_v my_o delight_n i_o shall_v now_o have_v perish_v in_o my_o trouble_n david_n here_o speak_v this_o of_o his_o own_o proper_a experience_n and_o knowledge_n before_o he_o speak_v of_o the_o truth_n and_o excellency_n of_o god_n in_o general_a and_o say_v that_o it_o be_v in_o heaven_n and_o afterward_o he_o proove_v it_o by_o visible_a thing_n which_o be_v very_o manifest_a unto_o we_o and_o which_o god_n point_v out_o unto_o we_o as_o it_o be_v with_o his_o finger_n in_o the_o three_o place_n he_o say_v that_o he_o speak_v not_o of_o unknowen_a thing_n that_o he_o may_v dispute_v of_o they_o at_o random_n but_o that_o he_o have_v right_o practise_v that_o which_o he_o have_v speak_v because_o that_o he_o be_v preserve_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o he_o now_o show_v we_o where_o we_o ought_v to_o seek_v for_o this_o word_n whereof_o he_o have_v general_o speak_v heretofore_o for_o we_o may_v use_v this_o name_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o it_o may_v be_v hide_v in_o the_o air_n or_o among_o the_o cloud_n but_o because_o he_o have_v give_v unto_o we_o his_o word_n familyar_o and_o communicate_v the_o same_o with_o we_o daily_o even_o in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n let_v we_o consider_v that_o in_o give_v honour_n unto_o the_o word_n of_o god_n we_o say_v that_o it_o be_v infallible_a let_v we_o not_o imagine_v it_o to_o be_v a_o unknowen_a word_n but_o let_v we_o go_v unto_o that_o which_o god_n at_o all_o time_n have_v give_v to_o his_o servant_n and_o that_o be_v it_o which_o be_v contain_v in_o the_o law_n see_v then_o how_o god_n have_v first_o declare_v his_o word_n unto_o we_o wherein_o our_o salvation_n be_v altogether_o certain_a now_o here_o we_o have_v to_o note_v in_o this_o strain_n that_o david_n have_v have_v such_o experience_n deserve_v well_o to_o be_v hear_v and_o that_o they_o be_v no_o vain_a word_n which_o he_o here_o set_v down_o before_o hand_n but_o that_o god_n also_o will_v have_v it_o so_o too_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v give_v the_o more_o credit_n unto_o it_o and_o that_o we_o shall_v no_o whit_n doubt_v of_o any_o thing_n that_o he_o teach_v we_o when_o as_o he_o himself_o have_v make_v proof_n of_o all_o that_o which_o he_o before_o have_v speak_v and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o point_n the_o experience_n then_o whereof_o david_n speak_v shall_v very_o well_o serve_v we_o in_o stead_n of_o our_o seal_n by_o which_o god_n mean_v too_o make_v the_o doctrine_n of_o his_o prophet_n to_o be_v of_o so_o much_o the_o more_o antiquity_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o moreover_o let_v we_o learn_v right_o too_o understande_v how_o sure_o we_o ought_v too_o be_v of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n not_o too_o seek_v for_o the_o certainty_n thereof_o without_o ourselves_o but_o rather_o in_o our_o own_o conscience_n it_o be_v true_a that_o we_o ought_v thorough_o too_o look_v both_o above_n and_o beneath_o too_o make_v the_o testimony_n which_o god_n give_v we_o too_o man_n to_o enter_v into_o himself_o and_o make_v such_o account_n of_o this_o certainty_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o it_o may_v take_v such_o root_n in_o our_o soul_n as_o that_o we_o may_v there_o feel_v it_o to_o be_v such_o as_o here_o it_o be_v say_v to_o wit_n that_o it_o never_o be_v shake_v although_o the_o whole_a world_n shall_v be_v confound_v and_o that_o it_o be_v the_o same_o which_o must_v give_v we_o peace_n and_o rest_n notwithstanding_o it_o seem_v that_o all_o be_v utter_o overthrow_v we_o must_v then_o acknowledge_v the_o effect_n and_o accomplishment_n of_o abode_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n which_o will_v assure_v we_o of_o all_o together_o let_v we_o not_o then_o measure_v our_o salvation_n by_o the_o present_a estate_n of_o the_o world_n and_o as_o it_o seem_v now_o in_o our_o eye_n whereby_o we_o may_v well_o perceive_v and_o discern_v the_o same_o and_o why_o so_o because_o that_o all_o thing_n here_o below_o have_v a_o end_n as_o we_o have_v
