trial_n perceive_v these_o thing_n in_o yourselus_a being_n christian_n or_o than_o you_o know_v not_o yourselves_o but_o its_o absurd_a that_o you_o christian_n shall_v not_o know_v yourselves_o therefore_o you_o may_v easy_o try_v these_o thing_n in_o yourselves_o of_o argument_n we_o have_v no_o more_o set_v down_o but_o the_o second_o part_n yet_o so_o as_o in_o the_o manner_n of_o speech_n he_o lead_v we_o to_o the_o collection_n and_o gather_v of_o the_o rest_n the_o word_n be_v these_o know_v you_o not_o yourselves_o as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v this_o wherein_o i_o will_v you_o to_o examine_v yourselves_o can_v be_v hide_v from_o you_o if_o you_o know_v yourselves_o which_o knowledge_n of_o themselves_o he_o enforce_v upon_o they_o by_o this_o his_o interrogation_n and_o work_n upon_o himself_o moreover_o this_o teach_v we_o another_o lesson_n touch_v the_o true_a course_n of_o man_n trial_n in_o matter_n spiritual_a and_o special_o of_o the_o virtue_n and_o power_n of_o any_o man_n ministry_n it_o be_v apparent_a that_o the_o corinthian_n do_v narrow_o mark_v the_o apostle_n himself_o in_o his_o outward_a estate_n and_o in_o his_o utterance_n and_o eloquence_n in_o all_o which_o they_o external_o find_v nothing_o in_o their_o carnal_a judgement_n but_o baseness_n weakness_n and_o word_n of_o no_o value_n but_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n they_o do_v not_o mark_v the_o mighty_a work_n of_o that_o weak_a man_n by_o his_o seem_a weak_a word_n in_o their_o own_o heart_n inward_o which_o make_v they_o perverse_a and_o sinistrous_a judge_n of_o his_o ministry_n the_o virtue_n and_o power_n whereof_o be_v not_o to_o be_v discern_v by_o aught_o that_o outward_o can_v be_v perceave_v either_o by_o the_o eye_n in_o behold_v the_o speaker_n or_o in_o our_o judge_n first_o concern_v the_o person_n and_o 2_o concern_v the_o matter_n touch_v the_o person_n its_o a_o common_a vice_n to_o be_v busy_a in_o take_v notice_n &_o in_o judge_v of_o other_o but_o not_o of_o ourselves_o whereas_o our_o mind_n ought_v to_o be_v still_o examine_v ourselves_o &_o not_o other_o for_o as_o say_v the_o apostle_n who_o be_v thou_o that_o judge_v another_o man_n servant_n he_o 4._o stand_v or_o fall_v to_o his_o own_o lord_n and_o not_o unto_o thou_o and_o the_o scripture_n of_o god_n continual_o warn_v we_o to_o absteyn_fw-mi from_o judge_v of_o other_o and_o still_o to_o judge_v and_o tax_v our_o selus_fw-la lest_o we_o be_v judge_v and_o in_o judge_v other_o to_o begin_v first_o at_o ourselves_o because_o thereby_o we_o shall_v be_v contemn_v the_o best_a &_o applaud_v the_o worst_a whereas_o the_o matter_n of_o all_o true_a judgement_n of_o preach_v consist_v not_o so_o much_o in_o the_o matter_n or_o utterance_n of_o the_o preacher_n as_o in_o the_o power_n of_o that_o which_o be_v speak_v which_o power_n be_v
often_o want_v in_o the_o great_a both_o of_o knowledge_n and_o eloquence_n and_o oft_o yea_o most_o time_n deny_v the_o most_o simple_a delivery_n of_o the_o truth_n in_o man_n have_v far_o less_o measure_n of_o the_o aforesaid_a gift_n and_o this_o trial_n take_v from_o the_o power_n of_o the_o word_n hear_v must_v needs_o force_v every_o man_n back_o to_o himself_o to_o examine_v himself_o
