person_n of_o the_o people_n to_o consider_v their_o ignorance_n forgetfulness_n looseness_n unsettledness_n and_o other_o infirmity_n and_o apply_v themselves_o unto_o they_o as_o their_z needs_o do_v require_v and_o will_v seek_v to_o win_v they_o rather_o than_o set_v up_o themselves_o none_o need_v to_o doubt_v but_o that_o they_o shall_v persuade_v many_o to_o become_v true_a christian_n and_o to_o be_v tractable_a to_o good_a duty_n when_o they_o be_v kind_o and_o wise_o advise_v and_o direct_v oh_o they_o that_o have_v not_o experience_n will_v hardly_o be_v persuade_v how_o much_o suspicion_n of_o it_o but_o i_o speak_v this_o to_o move_v some_o of_o my_o fellow_n brethren_n in_o the_o ministry_n such_o as_o in_o a_o honest_a and_o good_a heart_n desire_v to_o see_v fruit_n of_o their_o labour_n to_o think_v of_o the_o way_n of_o obtain_v the_o same_o and_o that_o be_v no_o doubt_n to_o such_o as_o hearty_o seek_v it_o good_a to_o labour_v for_o the_o gift_n of_o persuade_v the_o people_n and_o familiar_a apply_v the_o scripture_n to_o the_o person_n particular_o in_o a_o right_n and_o wise_a manner_n as_o well_o as_o to_o teach_v they_o the_o truth_n general_o and_o to_o use_v diligence_n and_o constancy_n in_o both_o and_o withal_o to_o take_v all_o occasion_n to_o commune_v and_o confer_v of_o good_a thing_n in_o company_v with_o they_o and_o not_o to_o spend_v the_o little_a time_n that_o they_o be_v with_o they_o in_o play_n nor_o to_o use_v to_o talk_v of_o worldly_a thing_n to_o they_o whereto_o the_o people_n be_v so_o ready_o carry_v nor_o idle_o and_o vain_o to_o keep_v they_o company_n which_o dull_v and_o make_v blunt_a the_o edge_n of_o their_o ministry_n among_o they_o and_o raise_v a_o mean_a conceit_n of_o the_o person_n joy_n which_o be_v begin_v may_v be_v full_a so_o thus_o our_o apostle_n in_o this_o place_n write_v to_o they_o that_o already_o rejoice_v that_o they_o rejoice_v in_o the_o lord_n to_o they_o that_o rejoice_v in_o part_n and_o in_o some_o measure_n that_o their_o joy_n may_v be_v full_a duty_n here_o than_o we_o see_v first_o what_o be_v the_o duty_n of_o the_o minister_n and_o that_o be_v that_o long_o as_o man_n live_v in_o this_o world_n it_o be_v the_o minister_n duty_n to_o continue_v his_o exhortation_n unto_o they_o it_o be_v not_o for_o he_o to_o say_v as_o many_o reckless_a and_o godless_a minister_n i_o have_v teach_v they_o more_o than_o they_o have_v learn_v already_o when_o they_o have_v learn_v that_o i_o will_v teach_v they_o more_o no_o thou_o must_v teach_v and_o yea_o so_o far_o that_o they_o cause_v other_o to_o be_v so_o and_o they_o make_v many_o to_o think_v that_o their_o religion_n allow_v no_o joy_n which_o hold_v some_o back_n from_o it_o and_o therefore_o such_o be_v far_o from_o rejoice_v in_o the_o lord_n always_o answ_n to_o this_o i_o answer_v that_o example_n be_v not_o to_o be_v allege_v against_o rule_n for_o such_o as_o be_v sad_a of_o god_n child_n have_v not_o yet_o learned_a to_o know_v their_o liberty_n that_o they_o may_v rejoice_v as_o i_o have_v say_v but_o will_v most_o willing_o and_o shall_v in_o time_n do_v so_o mean_v they_o may_v continue_v this_o their_o joy_n and_o that_o be_v first_o by_o continual_a prayer_n for_o we_o have_v the_o promise_n of_o christ_n that_o whatsoever_o we_o ask_v of_o god_n according_a to_o his_o will_n in_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n it_o shall_v be_v give_v unto_o us._n now_o this_o we_o know_v and_o be_v well_o assure_v of_o that_o it_o be_v according_a to_o the_o will_n of_o god_n that_o we_o shall_v rejoice_v so_o that_o if_o we_o pray_v for_o it_o earnest_o and_o continual_o he_o will_v be_v most_o willing_a and_o ready_a to_o grant_v our_o petition_n seek_v therefore_o the_o continuance_n and_o increase_n of_o this_o joy_n at_o god_n hand_n and_o thou_o shall_v find_v it_o knock_v for_o it_o by_o prayer_n at_o the_o door_n of_o god_n mercy_n and_o he_o will_v give_v it_o unto_o thou_o but_o alas_o this_o duty_n of_o prayer_n for_o joy_n be_v careless_o for_o the_o most_o part_n neglect_v man_n presume_v
