that_o hate_n god_n &_o help_v they_o what_o have_v thou_o to_o do_v to_o be_v so_o friendly_a &_o familiar_a with_o god_n enemy_n yet_o if_o one_o have_v come_v to_o ahab_n and_o tell_v he_o that_o he_o have_v hate_v god_n he_o will_v have_v defy_v he_o and_o say_v that_o he_o have_v love_v god_n as_o well_o as_o the_o best_a but_o that_o be_v no_o matter_n what_o ahab_n will_v say_v so_o long_o as_o god_n account_v he_o a_o enemy_n jehoshaphat_n shall_v have_v have_v no_o society_n nor_o friendship_n with_o he_o so_o that_o they_o be_v much_o to_o be_v condemn_v that_o will_v seem_v to_o have_v some_o care_n of_o religion_n themselves_o and_o to_o look_v to_o their_o own_o way_n that_o they_o be_v good_a but_o yet_o they_o can_v be_v familiar_a &_o make_v friendship_n with_o idolater_n and_o profess_a superstitious_a person_n why_o but_o be_v not_o this_o a_o hatred_n of_o god_n and_o be_v not_o you_o then_o subject_a to_o that_o reproof_n of_o jehoshaphat_n what_o will_v thou_o love_v they_o that_o hate_v i_o no_o man_n will_v be_v know_v to_o be_v a_o familiar_a friend_n to_o a_o open_a traitor_n that_o the_o king_n &_o counsel_n have_v proclaim_v a_o traitor_n for_o fear_v lest_o he_o shall_v be_v taint_v with_o some_o suspicion_n of_o treason_n and_o in_o deed_n he_o that_o will_v be_v so_o conversant_a and_o so_o well_o acquaint_v with_o such_o as_o god_n have_v proclaim_v traitor_n those_o that_o have_v any_o spiritual_a wisdom_n and_o true_a love_n of_o god_n may_v not_o without_o just_a cause_n vehement_o suspect_v he_o as_o one_o that_o himself_o bear_v no_o great_a good_a will_n to_o god_n and_o his_o pure_a religion_n and_o show_v mercy_n to_o thousand_o of_o they_o that_o etc._n etc._n in_o that_o that_o god_n promise_v to_o show_v mercy_n to_o thousand_o of_o they_o that_o love_v he_o &_o keep_v his_o commandment_n we_o learn_v that_o the_o best_a way_n for_o any_o man_n to_o do_v good_a to_o his_o child_n be_v to_o be_v godly_a etc._n etc._n after_o 29._o the_o righteous_a shall_v inherit_v the_o land_n and_o dwell_v in_o it_o for_o ever_o not_o this_o in_o his_o own_o person_n for_o that_o be_v no_o blessing_n for_o a_o good_a man_n to_o live_v still_o in_o this_o world_n but_o in_o his_o seed_n he_o mean_v one_o will_v think_v the_o contrary_a what_o be_v he_o always_o lend_v still_o do_v good_a why_o alas_o how_o yet_o be_v under_o the_o curse_n and_o live_v and_o die_v a_o miserable_a man_n but_o he_o shall_v have_v the_o blessing_n all_o thing_n necessary_a for_o soul_n &_o body_n heaven_n and_o earth_n now_o possess_v of_o a_o double_a blessing_n for_o his_o father_n prayer_n and_o for_o his_o own_o prayer_n for_o his_o father_n mercy_n and_o for_o his_o own_o mercy_n to_o this_o likewise_o serve_v for_o the_o comfort_n of_o god_n child_n that_o have_v many_o child_n and_o little_a wealth_n little_a good_n to_o leave_v they_o but_o that_o be_v not_o the_o question_n what_o good_n they_o have_v but_o if_o they_o be_v good_a and_o labour_n also_o to_o have_v their_o childen_a good_a if_o they_o be_v thousand_o of_o they_o they_o have_v the_o blessing_n of_o god_n and_o that_o shall_v to_o and_o david_n have_v wicked_a absalon_n &_o incestuous_a ammon_n but_o yet_o with_o all_o he_o have_v godly_a solomon_n &_o nathan_n or_o if_o none_o of_o the_o next_o offspring_n be_v good_a yet_o some_o of_o they_o that_o follow_v shall_v be_v holy_a the_o godliness_n of_o the_o parent_n will_v show_v itself_o in_o the_o bud_n soon_o or_o late_a as_o in_o hezekiah_n though_o manasseh_n that_o succeed_v he_o be_v at_o first_o a_o wicked_a idolater_n yet_o good_a josiah_n be_v in_o the_o next_o generation_n a_o good_a &_o holy_a man_n or_o if_o that_o good_a man_n at_o any_o time_n be_v barren_a yet_o his_o own_o soul_n and_o body_n shall_v feel_v the_o blessing_n those_o that_o love_v he_o and_o keep_v his_o commandment_n that_o be_v those_o which_o have_v such_o a_o true_a love_n to_o he_o as_o do_v show_v itself_o by_o the_o faithful_a use_v of_o his_o pure_a worship_n and_o by_o keep_v not_o the_o duty_n of_o flesh_n and_o blood_n but_o his_o commandment_n so_o that_o here_o god_n set_v down_o this_o as_o a_o note_n of_o love_v he_o to_o keep_v his_o commandment_n whence_o this_o lesson_n arise_v that_o the_o love_n of_o god_n consist_v in_o keep_v his_o commandment_n but_o afore_o the_o doctrine_n be_v further_o declare_v a_o objection_n must_v be_v remove_v for_o one_o may_v say_v what_o do_v you_o say_v that_o none_o love_v god_n but_o those_o that_o keep_v his_o commandment_n than_o i_o pray_v you_o where_o can_v you_o find_v one_o that_o love_v god_n and_o who_o be_v this_o that_o be_v able_a perfect_o to_o keep_v and_o fulfil_v the_o law_n of_o god_n but_o for_o the_o absolve_a of_o this_o doubt_n know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o great_a difference_n betwixt_o these_o two_o to_o keep_v god_n commandment_n &_o to_o fulfil_v god_n commandment_n for_o keep_v note_v a_o truth_n fulfil_v a_o perfection_n this_o perfection_n christ_n only_o have_v but_o this_o truth_n every_o christian_n must_v have_v for_o every_o christian_n man_n may_v so_o far_o keep_v god_n law_n as_o that_o he_o shall_v be_v both_o accept_v and_o also_o reward_v though_o not_o for_o the_o merit_n
give_v thou_o authority_n to_o control_v thy_o master_n but_o he_o will_v control_v himself_o and_o will_v not_o go_v out_o of_o his_o door_n to_o complain_v of_o his_o servant_n injury_n but_o he_o will_v complain_v to_o god_n of_o himself_o that_o have_v break_v his_o law_n and_o do_v injury_n to_o his_o majesty_n the_o like_a may_v we_o see_v in_o that_o holy_a man_n david_n who_o though_o he_o be_v a_o king_n anoint_v at_o god_n appointment_n and_o one_o of_o excellent_a gift_n a_o valiant_a warrior_n and_o have_v four_o hundred_o man_n well_o appoint_v wait_v on_o he_o yet_o when_o abigail_n a_o woman_n and_o mean_a in_o comparison_n of_o he_o come_v alone_o and_o bring_v with_o she_o the_o sword_n of_o the_o spirit_n the_o law_n of_o god_n that_o it_o be_v not_o lawful_a for_o he_o to_o commit_v murder_n and_o to_o revenge_v his_o own_o cause_n what_o though_o nabal_n have_v do_v injury_n she_o deny_v not_o but_o he_o be_v as_o his_o name_n signify_v a_o fool_n and_o the_o fool_n have_v do_v foolish_o that_o be_v not_o the_o question_n though_o but_o this_o she_o will_v know_v of_o david_n whether_o he_o may_v lawful_o kill_v one_o in_o his_o own_o private_a revenge_n contrary_a to_o the_o law_n of_o of_o god._n now_o when_o david_n see_v that_o she_o come_v so_o well_o appoint_v and_o bring_v such_o strong_a reason_n and_o that_o he_o can_v not_o rush_v on_o nabals_n blood_n but_o he_o shall_v rush_v upon_o the_o sword_n of_o god_n and_o god_n will_v plague_v he_o he_o will_v none_o but_o leave_v of_o and_o thanks_o she_o for_o her_o good_a counsel_n so_o that_o when_o she_o bring_v the_o law_n of_o god_n for_o her_o warrant_n this_o be_v so_o good_a a_o warrant_n as_o that_o david_n dare_v not_o but_o yield_v to_o it_o though_o he_o be_v a_o king_n and_o a_o prophet_n and_o a_o man_n of_o most_o excellent_a gift_n every_o way_n and_o she_o but_o a_o woman_n and_o far_o his_o inferior_a in_o grace_n contrary_n to_o this_o be_v the_o spirit_n of_o wicked_a amaziah_n that_o when_o he_o most_o absurd_o have_v have_v chase_v the_o edomit_n take_v their_o god_n and_o worship_v they_o and_o set_v they_o up_o as_o mean_n to_o help_v he_o in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n and_o god_n send_v the_o prophet_n to_o he_o to_o tell_v he_o that_o he_o have_v deal_v foolish_o to_o worship_v those_o god_n that_o can_v not_o save_v their_o own_o people_n out_o of_o his_o hand_n why_o he_o now_o can_v not_o bear_v this_o but_o begin_v to_o mock_v who_o say_v he_o i_o pray_v you_o make_v you_o of_o the_o king_n counsel_n be_v you_o become_v a_o counsellor_n now_o to_o tell_v the_o king_n what_o he_o have_v to_o do_v go_v to_o hold_v your_o peace_n lest_o you_o be_v smite_v for_o your_o pain_n the_o prophet_n see_v he_o to_o despise_v the_o rebuke_n of_o god_n and_o then_o he_o will_v not_o bestow_v so_o much_o cost_v as_o to_o give_v he_o any_o more_o admonition_n on_o he_o but_o well_o say_v he_o i_o will_v hold_v my_o peace_n as_o you_o bid_v i_o but_o know_v that_o thou_o shall_v sure_o perish_v because_o thou_o have_v do_v this_o thing_n and_o not_o hearken_v to_o my_o counsel_n though_o it_o be_v foolish_a and_o naught_o in_o he_o to_o do_v that_o thing_n yet_o if_o he_o can_v have_v hearken_v to_o the_o prophet_n of_o god_n bring_v the_o law_n of_o god_n he_o have_v be_v on_o the_o mend_a hand_n and_o all_o will_v have_v be_v well_o but_o when_o he_o will_v do_v sinful_o and_o then_o refuse_v to_o be_v admonish_v then_o in_o truth_n he_o must_v needs_o be_v destroy_v and_o so_o he_o be_v short_o after_o most_o fearful_o and_o strange_o by_o the_o hand_n god_n and_o neither_o his_o kingdom_n nor_o his_o wealth_n nor_o any_o thing_n can_v keep_v off_o the_o judgement_n of_o god_n and_o destruction_n from_o he_o so_o then_o will_v we_o show_v that_o we_o do_v in_o truth_n beeleeve_v that_o these_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n we_o must_v when_o any_o man_n shall_v press_v any_o of_o these_o law_n unto_o we_o straight_o way_n yield_v and_o stoop_v unto_o they_o and_o we_o do_v then_o confess_v that_o god_n speak_v all_o these_o word_n but_o if_o one_o begin_v to_o shift_v and_o cloak_n and_o colour_n and_o distinguish_v than_o he_o declare_v evident_o that_o his_o hart_n be_v not_o persuade_v that_o god_n be_v the_o author_n of_o these_o law_n the_o second_o use_n that_o we_o must_v make_v of_o this_o that_o god_n speak_v all_o these_o word_n be_v that_o therefore_o we_o must_v not_o be_v afraid_a nor_o ashamed_a to_o stand_v for_o they_o and_o defend_v they_o as_o also_o to_o practice_v they_o in_o our_o life_n though_o the_o atheist_n and_o the_o profane_a swine_n of_o the_o world_n mock_v and_o scoff_n at_o we_o never_o so_o much_o for_o the_o same_o for_o what_o need_n we_o be_v ashamed_a to_o maintain_v those_o word_n which_o god_n himself_o be_v not_o ashamed_a in_o his_o own_o person_n to_o speak_v if_o we_o do_v remember_v what_o christ_n say_v he_o that_o be_v ashamed_a of_o i_o before_o man_n in_o this_o world_n i_o will_v be_v ashamed_a of_o he_o before_o my_o father_n in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v if_o god_n have_v but_o send_v his_o angel_n unto_o we_o with_o any_o commandment_n the_o gloriousnesse_n of_o such_o messenger_n shall_v have_v might_n to_o make_v we_o bold_a to_o defend_v and_o stand_v for_o the_o message_n but_o since_o god_n do_v not_o send_v a_o host_n of_o angel_n but_o come_v himself_o in_o his_o magestie_n accompany_v with_o all_o his_o holy_a angel_n attend_v and_o wait_v one_o he_o shall_v we_o not_o now_o give_v much_o more_o reverence_n to_o those_o thing_n which_o he_o speak_v and_o take_v much_o more_o courage_n to_o stand_v for_o the_o maintenance_n of_o his_o commandment_n this_o serve_v therefore_o exceed_o to_o condemn_v their_o dastardlynesse_n that_o be_v afraid_a to_o keep_v the_o sabbath_n or_o to_o do_v any_o such_o duty_n because_o they_o shall_v be_v count_v puritan_fw-gr but_o be_v it_o not_o better_a that_o man_n shall_v hate_v we_o without_o cause_n then_o that_o god_n shall_v have_v a_o quarrel_n against_o we_o upon_o a_o just_a cause_n be_v not_o it_o much_o better_a that_o they_o shall_v scoff_n at_o we_o for_o good_a then_o that_o god_n shall_v plague_v we_o for_o evil_a what_o a_o shame_n be_v it_o for_o we_o therefore_o that_o when_o we_o he_o be_v wicked_a heretic_n speak_v against_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o profane_a atheist_n break_v his_o law_n and_o blaspheme_v his_o name_n we_o shall_v pluck_v in_o our_o horn_n and_o become_v mute_a as_o though_o it_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o some_o great_a discredit_n for_o we_o to_o speak_v for_o that_o which_o god_n himself_o in_o his_o own_o person_n have_v speak_v unto_o us._n three_o this_o serve_v to_o prove_v this_o law_n to_o be_v spiritual_a for_o such_o a_o one_o as_o god_n be_v which_o make_v the_o law_n such_o a_o one_o be_v that_o law_n which_o he_o make_v it_o reach_v therefore_o to_o the_o inward_a hart_n of_o every_o man_n and_o lie_v close_o upon_o his_o conscience_n and_o indeed_o in_o this_o it_o do_v especial_o differ_v from_o the_o law_n of_o man_n for_o they_o do_v tie_v the_o tongue_n and_o the_o hand_n and_o the_o foot_n to_o the_o good_a upbearance_n and_o take_v notice_n if_o any_o oft_o this_o be_v faulty_a against_o they_o but_o they_o meddle_v not_o with_o the_o hart_n and_o make_v no_o question_n of_o the_o inward_a motion_n of_o the_o soul_n because_o man_n can_v bring_v in_o no_o proof_n of_o the_o breach_n of_o such_o a_o law_n nor_o can_v have_v no_o witness_n of_o such_o fault_n but_o god_n search_v the_o hart_n and_o tri_v the_o reins_n &_o enter_v into_o the_o secret_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o therefore_o he_o command_v to_o love_v he_o with_o all_o our_o hart_n and_o with_o all_o our_o soul_n not_o content_v with_o such_o a_o love_n only_o as_o be_v declare_v by_o the_o outward_a behaviour_n of_o the_o body_n and_o so_o for_o our_o neighbour_n he_o command_v every_o one_o to_o love_v his_o neighbour_n as_o himself_o now_o we_o know_v that_o man_n do_v love_v themselves_o with_o a_o deep_a and_o inward_a love_n not_o outward_o only_a in_o salutation_n and_o courtesy_n and_o good_a speech_n but_o every_o man_n love_v himself_o in_o truth_n with_o a_o good_a meaning_n and_o in_o good_a earnest_n not_o dissemble_o so_o must_v all_o the_o obedience_n perform_v to_o god_n proceed_v from_o within_o and_o come_v from_o the_o hart_n else_o it_o shall_v be_v no_o whit_n acceptable_a to_o he_o that_o that_o grow_v without_o if_o it_o come_v not_o from_o the_o root_n of_o uprightness_n and_o sincerity_n
not_o that_o which_o god_n hate_v and_o therefore_o do_v not_o love_n god_n by_o these_o thing_n then_o we_o may_v examine_v ourselves_o and_o find_v whether_o we_o have_v any_o true_a love_n to_o god_n or_o not_o namely_o by_o his_o love_n to_o the_o mean_n of_o salvation_n and_o by_o his_o keep_a god_n commandment_n by_o his_o servant_n and_o hearty_a love_n to_o god_n people_n in_o wish_v and_o also_o do_v then_o good_a to_o his_o power_n by_o his_o desire_n to_o be_v join_v to_o christ_n jesus_n and_o last_o by_o his_o hatred_n of_o those_o thing_n which_o god_n hate_v which_o though_o they_o do_v often_o overtake_v he_o yet_o he_o love_v himself_o the_o less_o because_o he_o can_v hate_v they_o no_o more_o and_o think_v the_o worse_a of_o himself_o because_o he_o love_v they_o at_o all_o these_o thing_n who_o so_o can_v find_v in_o himself_o he_o love_v god_n and_o obey_v this_o commandment_n though_o not_o in_o perfection_n for_o no_o man_n can_v in_o his_o nature_n and_o indeed_o it_o be_v not_o needful_a that_o any_o of_o we_o shall_v for_o christ_n do_v it_o for_o we_o yet_o in_o uprightness_n and_o in_o some_o good_a measure_n and_o he_o serve_v god_n with_o that_o which_o he_o account_v a_o perfect_a hart_n so_o much_o of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n a_o fruit_n of_o knowledge_n when_o know_v his_o goodness_n his_o mercy_n his_o truth_n &_o other_o his_o property_n we_o give_v he_o all_o our_o soul_n set_v our_o affection_n on_o nothing_o in_o earth_n beside_o he_o delight_v in_o he_o alone_o and_o in_o nothing_o but_o that_o which_o carry_v a_o stamp_n of_o his_o goodness_n the_o next_o duty_n that_o be_v here_o command_v be_v the_o fear_n of_o god_n a_o duty_n proceed_v from_o knowledge_n also_o for_o as_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n goodness_n and_o mercy_n and_o truth_n will_v inflame_v the_o hart_n with_o a_o love_n of_o he_o so_o if_o one_o behold_v and_o consider_v his_o greatness_n and_o his_o power_n and_o his_o excellency_n over_o all_o his_o creature_n this_o will_v strike_v his_o hart_n with_o a_o wonderful_a reverence_n &_o a_o great_a fear_n of_o his_o majesty_n as_o also_o he_o that_o know_v god_n power_n that_o he_o can_v do_v what_o he_o will_v and_o his_o mercy_n that_o he_o will_v do_v what_o be_v needful_a for_o the_o good_a of_o his_o child_n this_o will_v make_v he_o trust_v whole_o in_o god_n but_o for_o this_o fear_n a_o objection_n must_v first_o be_v answer_v for_o 1._o john_n 4._o he_o say_v perfect_a love_n cast_v out_o fear_n and_o luke_n 1._o we_o be_v deliver_v from_o all_o summon_v their_o wicked_a heart_n and_o draw_v they_o before_o god_n judgement_n seat_n &_o make_v they_o therefore_o not_o love_v god_n word_n and_o ministry_n but_o hate_v it_o &_o cast_v off_o all_o care_n of_o godliness_n and_o religion_n from_o they_o but_o it_o be_v true_a that_o whosoever_o love_v god_n can_v choose_v but_o in_o the_o same_o measure_n also_o fear_v he_o for_o the_o that_o this_o be_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n as_o that_o by_o god_n mercy_n we_o have_v rather_o forsake_v our_o life_n then_o forsake_v it_o but_o none_o can_v attain_v to_o such_o knowledge_n but_o such_o as_o have_v a_o pure_a and_o a_o upright_a hart_n and_o this_o that_o man_n be_v so_o quick_o move_v from_o the_o truth_n be_v not_o because_o of_o the_o strength_n of_o the_o argument_n make_v against_o it_o but_o by_o reason_n of_o their_o own_o weakness_n which_o have_v not_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n to_o lead_v they_o into_o the_o truth_n and_o to_o confirm_v and_o show_v they_o error_n and_o heresy_n and_o make_v they_o loathsome_a unto_o they_o and_o give_v they_o power_n against_o they_o therefore_o we_o must_v labour_v for_o this_o spirit_n of_o truth_n which_o may_v so_o settle_v and_o ground_v we_o in_o the_o truth_n as_o that_o every_o storm_n of_o a_o false_a opinion_n from_o the_o mouth_n of_o some_o fantastical_a and_o vain_a person_n that_o have_v no_o godliness_n nor_o learning_n to_o commend_v he_o that_o never_o do_v any_o thing_n nor_o suffer_v any_o thing_n for_o christ_n sake_n may_v not_o weaken_v our_o hold_n and_o shake_v our_o foundation_n and_o cast_v we_o down_o from_o the_o truth_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v seduce_v by_o they_o nay_o we_o shall_v be_v so_o far_o from_o yield_v to_o the_o false_a dream_n of_o such_o as_o that_o when_o they_o grow_v obstinate_a we_o shall_v not_o show_v the_o least_o token_n of_o allowance_n or_o any_o countenance_n to_o they_o we_o shall_v not_o entertain_v they_o or_o receive_v they_o to_o house_n god_n may_v have_v his_o due_a praise_n and_o man_n his_o due_a edification_n thus_o much_o for_o the_o general_a duty_n now_o the_o special_a concern_v either_o other_o or_o ourselves_o in_o speak_v of_o other_o these_o rule_n must_v be_v observe_v in_o praise_v to_o speak_v in_o one_o commendation_n rather_o in_o his_o absence_n because_o if_o one_o be_v commend_v before_o one_o face_n though_o far_o enough_o of_o this_o show_v that_o the_o one_o come_v from_o a_o fawn_a disposition_n to_o curry_v favour_n rather_o than_o in_o acknowledgement_n of_o the_o grace_n and_o the_o other_o rather_o from_o malice_n and_o revenge_n more_o than_o from_o love_n and_o desite_fw-la of_o the_o party_n good_a for_o one_o shall_v not_o in_o modesty_n make_v a_o rehearsal_n of_o one_o good_a thing_n neither_o have_v god_n commandment_n nor_o keep_v they_o and_o so_o far_o as_o they_o fail_v in_o these_o thing_n so_o far_o they_o fail_v in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o provoke_v god_n also_o not_o to_o love_v they_o this_o serve_v to_o confute_v those_o disorder_a person_n in_o who_o one_o can_v see_v nothing_o but_o open_a rebellion_n against_o god_n law_n open_a breach_n of_o the_o sabbath_n and_o manifest_a contempt_n of_o god_n word_n and_o yet_o tell_v they_o of_o it_o and_o come_v to_o ask_v they_o if_o they_o be_v not_o ashamed_a thus_o in_o the_o face_n of_o the_o world_n to_o proclaim_v enmity_n against_o god_n than_o first_o they_o fall_v to_o shift_v and_o cloak_v but_o if_o you_o come_v with_o so_o good_a proof_n and_o ferret_v they_o out_o so_o sound_o that_o they_o can_v deny_v it_o but_o be_v convince_v to_o their_o face_n why_o then_o this_o be_v next_o what_o be_v you_o without_o sin_n have_v you_o no_o fault_n do_v you_o keep_v all_o god_n commandment_n yes_o miserable_a man_n there_o be_v fault_n in_o the_o best_a but_o this_o be_v blockishness_n for_o be_v there_o no_o difference_n betwixt_o fall_v by_o frailty_n and_o through_o infirmity_n and_o live_v and_o lie_v in_o a_o sin_n and_o allow_v one_o self_n in_o the_o commit_n of_o it_o that_o frailty_n be_v in_o god_n elect_a child_n but_o this_o wilful_a disobedience_n and_o maintain_n be_v in_o hipocrit_n that_o god_n put_v away_o and_o regard_v not_o this_o he_o will_v never_o put_v away_o unless_o there_o be_v a_o amendment_n and_o great_a soundness_n for_o such_o person_n love_v not_o god_n and_o it_o be_v just_a if_o he_o plague_v they_o and_o pursue_v they_o as_o his_o enemy_n this_o likewise_o serve_v for_o the_o great_a comfort_n of_o god_n child_n that_o do_v their_o best_a endeavour_n to_o keep_v all_o god_n commandment_n and_o that_o with_o a_o willing_a hart_n and_o good_a intent_n and_o mind_n not_o think_v to_o merit_v any_o thing_n by_o they_o for_o they_o know_v god_n must_v still_o show_v mercy_n even_o to_o those_o that_o love_v he_o and_o keep_v his_o commandment_n this_o i_o say_v comfort_n all_o they_o for_o when_o he_o have_v do_v all_o he_o can_v he_o come_v short_a and_o fail_v but_o yet_o god_n will_v show_v mercy_n this_o word_n may_v rejoice_v they_o for_o he_o will_v show_v mercy_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v though_o you_o come_v far_o short_a of_o that_o you_o shall_v and_o will_v yet_o so_o long_o as_o your_o hart_n be_v true_a god_n will_v show_v mercy_n for_o he_o require_v not_o fulfil_v but_o keep_v if_o one_o will_v stand_v to_o himself_o than_o he_o must_v have_v either_o perfection_n or_o confusion_n but_o if_o he_o trust_v to_o christ_n than_o he_o be_v under_o grace_n there_o be_v mercy_n in_o christ_n pity_v and_o reward_v reward_v all_o their_o good_a and_o pity_v and_o pass_v by_o their_o infirmity_n thus_o much_o for_o the_o second_o commandment_n now_o follow_v the_o three_o in_o these_o word_n follow_v thou_o shall_v not_o take_v the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n thy_o god_n in_o vain_a for_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o hold_v he_o guiltless_a that_o take_v his_o name_n in_o vain_a the_o sum_n of_o this_o three_o commandment_n be_v to_o teach_v we_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o profane_v the_o name_n
