this_o be_v a_o certain_a truth_n that_o they_o that_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n shall_v not_o only_o know_v more_o of_o god_n

we_o and_o therefore_o must_v be_v the_o instrument_n of_o our_o salvation_n the_o second_o quaery_n be_v this_o but_o be_v the_o knowledge_n of_o salvation_n reveal_v only_o by_o the_o gospel_n may_v some_o say_v do_v not_o the_o law_n also_o reveal_v salvation_n do_v not_o the_o law_n say_v do_v this_o and_o live_v to_o this_o i_o answer_v though_o the_o law_n may_v be_v say_v in_o some_o sense_n to_o reveal_v the_o knowledge_n of_o salvation_n yet_o there_o be_v a_o very_a great_a difference_n between_o the_o law_n reveal_v and_o the_o gospel_n reveal_v it_o and_o that_o in_o these_o two_o respect_n especial_o first_o the_o law_n do_v not_o reveal_v the_o knowledge_n of_o salvation_n so_o clear_o second_o the_o law_n do_v not_o reveal_v the_o knowledge_n of_o salvation_n so_o effectual_o first_o the_o law_n do_v not_o reveal_v the_o knowledge_n of_o salvarion_n so_o clear_o for_o it_o reveal_v it_o only_o in_o type_n and_o shadow_n and_o resemblance_n therefore_o the_o apostle_n say_v heb._n 10.1_o the_o law_n have_v the_o shadow_n of_o good_a thing_n to_o come_v and_o not_o the_o very_a image_n of_o the_o thing_n he_o compare_v the_o law_n to_o a_o shadow_n it_o jesus_n christ_n full_o and_o clear_o exhibit_v it_o bring_v in_o jesus_n christ_n as_o the_o daystar_n from_o on_o high_a which_o do_v enlighten_v we_o and_o the_o son_n of_o righteousness_n that_o do_v dispel_v all_o those_o cloud_n and_o shadow_n that_o be_v in_o the_o ceremonial_a law_n the_o gospel_n do_v as_o it_o be_v draw_v the_o curtain_n that_o now_o we_o may_v with_o open_a face_n behold_v as_o in_o a_o glass_n the_o glory_n of_o the_o lord_n 2_o cor._n 3._o last_o verse_n therefore_o the_o law_n do_v not_o discover_v the_o knowledge_n of_o salvation_n so_o clear_o second_o the_o law_n do_v not_o discover_v the_o knowledge_n of_o salvation_n so_o effectual_o true_a the_o law_n have_v tell_v we_o of_o salvation_n but_o it_o do_v not_o show_v we_o the_o mean_n whereby_o we_o may_v attain_v it_o the_o law_n show_v we_o the_o way_n but_o it_o do_v not_o help_v we_o to_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n the_o law_n have_v command_v we_o to_o obey_v but_o it_o give_v we_o no_o strength_n to_o perform_v therefore_o the_o apostle_n say_v the_o law_n be_v weak_a because_o of_o our_o flesh_n rom._n 8.3_o for_o what_o the_o law_n can_v not_o do_v in_o that_o it_o be_v weak_a through_o the_o flesh_n god_n send_v his_o own_o son_n in_o the_o likeness_n of_o sinful_a flesh_n and_o for_o sin_n condemn_v sin_n in_o the_o flesh_n again_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o express_o fearful_a execution_n so_o here_o the_o gracious_a pardon_n of_o god_n that_o be_v tender_v in_o the_o gospel_n do_v not_o kill_v or_o condemn_v any_o in_o itself_o or_o in_o be_v own_o nature_n but_o through_o the_o contempt_n of_o those_o that_o do_v disregard_n it_o in_o this_o regard_n not_o simple_o but_o accidental_o through_o the_o corruption_n of_o man_n heart_n and_o nature_n in_o this_o regard_n
now_o be_v confirm_v and_o precious_a evidence_n of_o eternal_a salvation_n may_v be_v now_o gain_v and_o likewise_o precious_a grace_n and_o precious_a faith_n and_o precious_a hope_n and_o precious_a love_n humility_n repentance_n and_o self-denial_n these_o precious_a grace_n may_v be_v now_o procure_v a_o precious_a soul_n may_v be_v save_v a_o precious_a pardon_n may_v be_v seal_v oh_o what_o precious_a thing_n than_o be_v tender_v to_o you_o in_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n these_o opportunity_n therefore_o be_v exceed_o precious_a if_o christ_n be_v thy_o now_o he_o
