scan_v the_o phrase_n of_o speech_n which_o the_o prophet_n here_o use_v they_o be_v diverse_a and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o they_o be_v not_o to_o be_v light_o pass_v over_o for_o the_o lord_n well_o discern_v how_o great_a the_o rage_n of_o man_n be_v to_o forge_v new_a service_n and_o therefore_o he_o use_v amplification_n to_o depress_v this_o vice_n the_o more_o and_o again_o pronounce_v here_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o purgation_n but_o he_o be_v not_o the_o author_n of_o it_o to_o the_o end_n we_o post_v not_o that_o over_o to_o another_o which_o belong_v to_o god_n alone_o and_o this_o the_o angel_n himself_o express_v clear_o in_o that_o he_o attribute_n nothing_o to_o himself_o but_o take_v the_o holy_a pledge_n which_o he_o have_v receive_v of_o god_n he_o apply_v it_o to_o our_o weakness_n for_o we_o be_v not_o angel_n to_o behold_v the_o mystery_n of_o god_n without_o any_o help_n and_o therefore_o he_o lift_v we_o up_o to_o he_o by_o little_a and_o little_a and_o as_o it_o be_v by_o step_n behold_v he_o have_v touch_v he_o show_v how_o the_o confirmation_n which_o be_v give_v by_o the_o sign_n be_v not_o in_o vain_a shadow_n god_n give_v we_o the_o thing_n signify_v in_o the_o sacrament_n and_o feed_v not_o our_o â—ies_n there_o with_o empty_a shadow_n but_o that_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v signify_v by_o it_o be_v forthwith_o grant_v so_o as_o isaiah_n well_o perceive_v he_o be_v not_o deceive_v whence_o we_o may_v gather_v that_o the_o thing_n itself_o be_v give_v we_o in_o the_o sacrament_n with_o the_o sign_n for_o the_o lord_n feed_v not_o our_o eye_n in_o the_o sacrament_n with_o bare_a and_o empty_a figure_n but_o he_o join_v the_o truth_n itself_o with_o they_o to_o testify_v that_o he_o work_v by_o the_o sign_n effectual_o distinguish_v the_o truth_n never_o separate_v from_o the_o sign_n yâ—t_o they_o must_v be_v distinguish_v that_o the_o truth_n can_v never_o be_v separate_a from_o the_o sign_n although_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v distinguish_v for_o we_o see_v and_o feel_v the_o sign_n as_o the_o bread_n which_o be_v give_v we_o by_o the_o minister_n in_o the_o supper_n and_o because_o christ_n must_v be_v seek_v in_o heaven_n it_o behoove_v we_o that_o our_o thought_n be_v carry_v thither_o notwithstanding_o he_o offer_v his_o body_n by_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o minister_n to_o the_o end_n the_o faithful_a may_v true_o enjoy_v it_o faith_n faith_n provide_v that_o they_o aspire_v to_o heaven_n by_o faith_n where_o he_o be_v he_o give_v it_o then_o to_o the_o faithful_a who_o raise_v up_o their_o mind_n to_o he_o by_o faith_n because_o he_o can_v be_v no_o deceiver_n now_o the_o unbeliever_n receive_v the_o sign_n indeed_o but_o because_o they_o lie_v grovel_v upon_o the_o earth_n and_o ascend_v not_o up_o into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n they_o be_v not_o partaker_n of_o the_o verity_n because_o that_o he_o which_o have_v not_o faith_n can_v not_o lift_v up_o his_o thought_n to_o god_n and_o therefore_o can_v not_o be_v partaker_n of_o christ_n it_o be_v faith_n only_o which_o open_v we_o the_o gate_n into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n wherefore_o whosoever_o will_v live_v by_o the_o flesh_n of_o christ_n it_o be_v necessary_a that_o he_o be_v lift_v up_o far_o above_o all_o humane_a sense_n into_o heaven_n by_o faith_n in_o a_o word_n spirit_n the_o spirit_n there_o be_v nothing_o but_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n only_o which_o can_v make_v we_o partaker_n of_o this_o communion_n yet_o notwithstanding_o it_o follow_v not_o thereupon_o that_o the_o send_v the_o prophet_n bring_v in_o the_o lord_n speak_v as_o if_o he_o can_v find_v no_o man_n fit_a to_o do_v this_o message_n some_o think_v that_o the_o blockishness_n of_o the_o priest_n and_o prophet_n be_v here_o touch_v because_o not_o one_o among_o they_o be_v able_a to_o teach_v although_o they_o be_v many_o in_o number_n now_o although_o this_o reason_n have_v some_o colour_n yet_o i_o have_v rather_o refer_v it_o to_o the_o certainty_n of_o the_o vocation_n of_o the_o prophet_n to_o wit_n that_o the_o lord_n call_v he_o not_o forth_o at_o random_n but_o with_o choice_n this_o be_v then_o a_o grave_a deliberation_n which_o the_o lord_n take_v as_o touch_v he_o who_o he_o shall_v send_v not_o that_o he_o doubt_v but_o these_o manner_n of_o speech_n be_v in_o regard_n of_o we_o even_o as_o when_o he_o say_v i_o will_v go_v down_o and_o see_v gen._n 28.21_o for_o god_n to_o who_o all_o thing_n be_v manifest_a needs_o no_o inquiry_n but_o to_o the_o end_n that_o man_n the_o strengthen_n of_o our_o faith_n as_o for_o example_n the_o lord_n in_o the_o gospel_n offer_v we_o all_o thing_n necessary_a for_o our_o salvation_n for_o see_v by_o it_o we_o be_v join_v to_o christ_n the_o sum_n of_o all_o good_a thing_n be_v contain_v in_o it_o but_o to_o what_o end_n serve_v baptism_n and_o the_o holy_a supper_n then_o shall_v we_o esteem_v they_o as_o thing_n superfluous_a no_o sure_o because_o whoso_o without_o flatter_v of_o himself_o shall_v take_v knowledge_n of_o his_o infirmity_n which_o all_o from_o the_o least_o to_o the_o great_a ought_v too_o because_o that_o even_o as_o gedeon_n be_v confirm_v by_o that_o marvellous_a sign_n so_o also_o be_v we_o confirm_v by_o baptism_n and_o the_o holy_a supper_n although_o we_o see_v no_o miracle_n before_o our_o eye_n verse_n 13._o then_o he_o say_v hear_v you_o now_o o_o house_n of_o david_n be_v it_o a_o small_a thing_n for_o you_o to_o grieve_v man_n that_o you_o will_v also_o grieve_v my_o the_o enterprise_n of_o his_o enemy_n to_o confusion_n and_o in_o deed_n unless_o the_o prophet_n have_v speedy_o prevent_v the_o matter_n this_o way_n many_o such_o doubt_n will_v have_v come_v
