we_o can_v find_v design_v to_o deprive_v prince_n or_o magistrate_n of_o any_o part_n of_o that_o lawful_a power_n which_o they_o have_v over_o their_o subject_n before_o his_o come_n who_o every_o we_o it_o seem_v not_o irrational_a to_o judge_v that_o neither_o the_o righteous_a nor_o the_o wicked_a do_v receive_v their_o full_a and_o final_a portion_n until_o that_o judgement_n be_v pass_v upon_o they_o i_o know_v not_o therefore_o how_o to_o condemn_v those_o who_o ancient_o take_v up_o the_o custom_n of_o pray_v for_o their_o decease_a friend_n who_o have_v live_v holy_o and_o die_v pious_o that_o they_o may_v find_v favour_n and_o acceptance_n at_o the_o general_a judgement_n and_o have_v their_o portion_n of_o glory_n augment_v but_o i_o can_v by_o no_o mean_n approve_v of_o those_o who_o upon_o such_o pitiful_a suggestion_n have_v presume_v to_o determine_v that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o place_n as_o purgatory_n where_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n be_v to_o be_v purge_v and_o suffer_v a_o temporary_a punishment_n before_o their_o admission_n into_o heaven_n and_o although_o i_o look_v upon_o their_o pray_v for_o the_o dead_a to_o be_v a_o mistake_n rather_o than_o a_o sin_n yet_o their_o take_n of_o money_n for_o so_o do_v and_o raise_v such_o a_o revenue_n upon_o that_o fund_z i_o look_v upon_o to_o be_v a_o most_o ungodly_a cheat_n and_o imposition_n upon_o the_o people_n 45._o although_o i_o do_v not_o apprehend_v that_o there_o be_v any_o natural_a decay_n in_o the_o general_a frame_n and_o structure_n of_o this_o world_n yet_o it_o be_v certain_a reason_n for_o determine_v a_o property_n in_o a_o thing_n to_o particular_a person_n viz._n 1._o when_o a_o man_n be_v the_o first_o that_o take_v actual_a possession_n of_o a_o thing_n and_o convert_v it_o to_o his_o own_o use_n for_o such_o a_o possession_n be_v a_o addition_n to_o his_o general_a right_n beyond_o what_o any_o other_o man_n who_o never_o be_v in_o possession_n can_v pretend_v and_o why_o shall_v i_o part_v with_o my_o possession_n to_o any_o other_o or_o he_o demand_v it_o from_o i_o except_o he_o be_v able_a to_o make_v out_o a_o better_a title_n than_o i_o to_o the_o thing_n in_o dispute_n 2._o when_o a_o man_n take_v possession_n of_o a_o thing_n which_o be_v actual_o reject_v and_o desert_v by_o he_o who_o last_o have_v the_o right_n to_o and_o make_v over_o to_z another_z by_o he_o who_o have_v before_o a_o just_a right_o thereto_o for_o it_o be_v high_o reasonable_a that_o every_o man_n shall_v have_v liberty_n to_o dispose_v of_o his_o own_o 4._o when_o a_o company_n of_o people_n do_v by_o a_o agreement_n make_v a_o partition_n of_o what_o be_v before_o in_o common_a among_o they_o all_o it_o be_v reasonable_a that_o every_o man_n a_o lie_n consist_v in_o the_o bare_a untruth_n or_o only_o in_o the_o injustice_n of_o it_o and_o from_o thence_o have_v be_v incline_v to_o believe_v that_o such_o a_o lie_n as_o do_v no_o hurt_n to_o any_o one_o not_o draw_v any_o manner_n of_o evil_a consequence_n after_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v look_v on_o as_o a_o sin_n and_o so_o much_o the_o less_o if_o it_o be_v tell_v with_o a_o real_a design_n only_o to_o do_v good_a or_o prevent_v mischief_n the_o nicety_n of_o this_o controversy_n i_o leave_v to_o be_v discuss_v by_o other_o but_o since_o humane_a society_n can_v be_v uphold_v without_o in_o many_o case_n a_o dependence_n upon_o one_o another_o veracity_n i_o may_v sure_o venture_v thus_o far_o to_o conolude_v viz._n that_o not_o only_o such_o a_o lie_n as_o tend_v to_o the_o damage_n of_o another_o but_o also_o such_o a_o lie_n however_o otherwise_o innocent_a as_o give_v occasion_n to_o render_v a_o man_n truth_n suspect_v in_o other_o case_n be_v to_o be_v repute_v unlawful_a if_o for_o no_o other_o reason_n yet_o at_o least_o before_o this_o because_o it_o be_v injurious_a to_o humane_a society_n and_o the_o same_o reason_n will_v hold_v as_o strong_o against_o all_o mental_a reservation_n and_o equivocal_a expression_n for_o what_o be_v humane_a society_n at_o any_o time_n the_o better_a for_o the_o literal_a truth_n of_o what_o a_o man_n say_v
