disorder_v by_o before_o evening_n man_n be_v general_o sober_a in_o a_o morning_n and_o s._n peter_n think_v man_n can_v not_o be_v drink_v at_o the_o three_o hour_n of_o the_o day_n i._n e._n according_a to_o the_o jewish_a way_n of_o divide_v the_o day_n at_o nine_o in_o the_o morning_n and_o though_o perhaps_o in_o this_o degenerate_a age_n and_o place_n some_o exception_n may_v be_v produce_v against_o the_o apostle_n rule_v yet_o it_o be_v not_o ordinary_o and_o common_o so_o man_n be_v neither_o in_o such_o danger_n of_o be_v over_o take_v nor_o so_o common_o so_o in_o a_o morning_n as_o god_n know_v they_o too_o common_o be_v see_v to_o be_v at_o night_n so_o that_o upon_o this_o reason_n also_o we_o have_v something_o the_o advantage_n of_o they_o in_o this_o respect_n and_o can_v well_o come_v drink_v to_o the_o lord_n table_n unless_o we_o be_v beast_n and_o monster_n of_o intemperance_n 3._o and_o yet_o there_o be_v a_o three_o instance_n in_o which_o the_o christian_a church_n have_v take_v care_n to_o secure_v we_o in_o this_o instance_n and_o that_o be_v its_o enjoin_v we_o to_o receive_v the_o holy_a sacrament_n fast_v for_o this_o there_o be_v several_a constitution_n and_o canon_n of_o the_o church_n producible_a by_o which_o certain_o it_o have_v take_v the_o utmost_a and_o most_o effectual_a care_n possible_a for_o the_o prevention_n for_o a_o disparagement_n and_o dishonour_n to_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n next_o to_o blasphemy_n and_o be_v high_o concern_v to_o consider_v how_o they_o can_v answer_v it_o those_o that_o talk_v so_o dreadful_o of_o man_n stab_a their_o own_o soul_n in_o this_o and_o become_a self-murtherer_n etc._n etc._n use_v word_n of_o fancy_n which_o signify_v nothing_o but_o by_o a_o figure_n and_o nothing_o in_o this_o case_n more_o than_o all_o other_o where_o man_n heedless_o or_o wilful_o prevaricate_v their_o duty_n and_o incense_n god_n against_o they_o and_o those_o that_o tell_v we_o that_o man_n do_v in_o this_o seal_n their_o own_o damnation_n and_o even_o covenant_n with_o god_n to_o be_v damn_v beside_o that_o they_o speak_v only_o of_o their_o own_o head_n speak_v it_o upon_o a_o great_a mistake_n of_o the_o reason_n why_o the_o sacrament_n be_v sometime_o call_v seal_n by_o divine_n and_o by_o the_o holy_a scripture_n too_o i_o know_v circumcision_n be_v once_o call_v by_o s._n paul_n a_o seal_n rom._n 4.11_o but_o i_o do_v not_o know_v whether_o this_o be_v present_o a_o good_a warrant_n for_o call_v all_o the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o new_a testament_n seal_n or_o not_o but_o if_o i_o do_v allow_v this_o holy_a sacrament_n to_o be_v a_o seal_n i_o must_v have_v it_o remember_v that_o it_o be_v a_o seal_n on_o god_n part_n and_o not_o on_o we_o and_o that_o divine_n mean_v thus_o when_o they_o thus_o speak_v god_n almighty_n be_v please_v to_o ratify_v and_o confirm_v the_o truth_n of_o the_o everlasting_a covenant_n to_o we_o by_o these_o symbol_n and_o seal_n of_o it_o if_o you_o please_v to_o call_v they_o so_o and_o in_o some_o sense_n to_o sealâ—_n the_o truth_n of_o his_o own_o gracious_a promise_n but_o i_o do_v not_o so_o well_o understand_v god_n covenant_n and_o the_o promise_n of_o it_o be_v make_v to_o we_o upon_o the_o condition_n of_o faith_n and_o obedience_n and_o though_o these_o be_v not_o only_o suppose_v in_o they_o that_o come_v to_o the_o holy_a sacrament_n and_o may_v in_o some_o sense_n be_v say_v to_o be_v promise_v and_o adstipulate_v unto_o by_o they_o at_o such_o time_n yet_o that_o be_v but_o a_o collateral_a and_o secondary_a design_n of_o the_o holy_a sacrament_n the_o prime_a design_n of_o it_o be_v to_o confirm_v our_o faith_n in_o god_n and_o not_o to_o seal_v our_o obedience_n unto_o he_o and_o the_o sacrament_n be_v but_o just_a such_o argument_n and_o engagement_n upon_o we_o to_o become_v good_a man_n as_o our_o faith_n in_o the_o divine_a promise_n be_v which_o be_v all_o make_v to_o we_o only_o upon_o that_o condition_n and_o he_o that_o testify_v his_o belief_n of_o those_o promise_n do_v oblige_v himself_o to_o that_o condition_n or_o else_o he_o believe_v like_o a_o fool_n and_o upon_o no_o reason_n at_o all_o but_o have_v i_o not_o say_v one_o word_n of_o this_o matter_n i_o may_v safe_o have_v reply_v that_o whatever_o man_n may_v be_v say_v to_o seal_v to_o in_o the_o holy_a sacrament_n it_o be_v not_o to_o their_o own_o damnation_n why_o yes_o say_v some_o but_o those_o that_o eat_v unworthy_o do_v so_o for_o he_o that_o seal_v with_o god_n for_o life_n and_o salvation_n upon_o the_o condition_n of_o faith_n and_o obedience_n do_v in_o effect_n seal_n to_o his_o own_o damnation_n upon_o his_o fail_v to_o believe_v and_o to_o obey_v but_o i_o say_v still_o this_o be_v a_o great_a mistake_n for_o the_o contract_n or_o covenant_n be_v only_o about_o salvation_n and_o the_o incur_v damnation_n no_o part_n of_o it_o at_o all_o but_o only_o by_o most_o hearty_a adoration_n and_o praise_n to_o they_o when_o he_o commemorate_v this_o amaze_a instance_n of_o their_o love_n and_o who_o can_v be_v affect_v thus_o and_o not_o break_v out_o into_o spirit_n at_o such_o a_o time_n as_o cause_v they_o ready_o to_o break_v out_o into_o they_o how_o natural_o do_v tear_n of_o sorrow_n and_o joy_n flow_v from_o our_o eye_n how_o do_v our_o soul_n lick_v the_o dust_n in_o humble_a prostration_n how_o be_v we_o swallow_v up_o with_o rapturous_a contemplation_n of_o our_o lord_n love_v and_o what_o bright_a flame_n of_o praise_n and_o love_n ascend_v from_o our_o exalt_a soul_n at_o such_o a_o time_n so_o that_o we_o be_v for_o the_o present_a even_o all_o wonder_n and_o all_o love_n and_o taste_v what_o the_o joy_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o the_o enravish_a sweetness_n of_o religion_n mean_a the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o the_o divine_a grace_n do_v so_o strong_o seize_v and_o pervade_v our_o spirit_n then_o that_o these_o thing_n become_v natural_a and_o easy_a and_o man_n must_v offer_v a_o certain_a violence_n to_o themselves_o and_o unreasonable_o resist_v the_o strong_a motion_n of_o god_n grace_n and_o holy_a spirit_n
