observable_a that_o under_o the_o gospel_n no_o particular_a set_v or_o limit_a time_n be_v appoint_v for_o vocal_a prayer_n but_o every_o one_o be_v to_o wait_v to_o know_v the_o time_n of_o the_o spirit_n call_v and_o move_v thereunto_o which_o will_v be_v seasonable_o and_o frequent_o afford_v to_o such_o as_o wait_v single_o therefore_o especial_o when_o the_o people_n of_o god_n assemble_v prove_v that_o we_o eat_v or_o drink_v or_o receive_v any_o creature_n of_o god_n without_o prayer_n and_o thanksgiving_n because_o we_o do_v not_o always_o use_v vocal_a and_o external_n prayer_n when_o we_o eat_v and_o drink_v although_o at_o other_o time_n we_o use_v it_o as_o god_n be_v please_v to_o give_v utterance_n and_o be_v most_o glad_a either_o to_o do_v it_o or_o join_v with_o these_o who_o do_v it_o by_o the_o help_n of_o god_n spirit_n but_o be_v i._o a._n so_o ignorant_a and_o unreasonable_a to_o think_v that_o they_o be_v no_o prayer_n
doctrine_n and_o word_n of_o god_n but_o he_o who_o speak_v it_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o none_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o he_o who_o hear_v it_o and_o into_o the_o heart_n and_o inward_a ear_n of_o his_o inward_a man_n receive_v it_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o these_o only_a i_o say_v the_o doctrine_n be_v know_v and_o by_o these_o it_o be_v only_o receive_v as_o it_o be_v indeed_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o in_o this_o respect_n it_o be_v that_o paul_n commend_v such_o as_o receive_v the_o truth_n by_o the_o same_o spirit_n by_o which_o it_o be_v preach_v unto_o they_o through_o he_o that_o they_o receive_v it_o not_o as_o the_o word_n of_o man_n but_o as_o the_o word_n of_o god_n etc._n etc._n now_o this_o commendation_n can_v be_v give_v to_o no_o unbeliever_n that_o what_o he_o receive_v in_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o true_a servant_n of_o god_n he_o receive_v it_o as_o the_o word_n of_o god_n for_o only_o the_o true_a believer_n do_v so_o receive_v it_o according_a to_o paul_n testimony_n as_o it_o be_v indeed_o the_o word_n of_o god_n moreover_o i_o will_v have_v the_o reader_n to_o know_v that_o when_o we_o say_v by_o the_o word_n be_v understand_v christ_n we_o mean_v not_o christ_n abstract_o or_o separate_o consider_v from_o the_o divine_a doctrine_n and_o testimony_n of_o life_n whether_o in_o the_o heart_n or_o mouth_n that_o immediate_o proceed_v from_o he_o nor_o yet_o as_o divide_v or_o separate_v from_o any_o divine_a operation_n of_o his_o spirit_n power_n and_o life_n in_o any_o of_o his_o servant_n call_v the_o man_n and_o thus_o much_o i_o hope_v shall_v suffice_v to_o satisfy_v the_o sober_a reader_n as_o concern_v the_o word_n of_o god_n how_o we_o understand_v it_o now_o whereas_o i._o a._n cit_v divers_a place_n of_o scripture_n to_o prove_v that_o by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v not_o understand_v christ_n but_o the_o outward_a testimony_n or_o write_v of_o the_o scripture_n it_o the_o sword_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o spirit_n be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n so_o that_o the_o article_n which_o be_v in_o the_o neuter_n gender_n be_v relative_n to_o spirit_n which_o in_o the_o greek_a language_n be_v in_o the_o same_o gender_n again_o as_o to_o those_o three_o place_n in_o the_o revelation_n which_o mention_v the_o word_n of_o god_n it_o be_v be_v the_o sword_n of_o his_o mouth_n and_o proceed_v out_o of_o the_o mouth_n of_o christ_n do_v i._n a._n think_v that_o this_o only_o be_v the_o letter_n of_o the_o scripture_n do_v nothing_o but_o the_o letter_n come_v out_o of_o his_o mouth_n do_v not_o spirit_n and_o life_n and_o live_a virtue_n come_v out_o of_o his_o mouth_n and_o do_v not_o christ_n say_v the_o word_n that_o i_o speak_v unto_o you_o they_o be_v spirit_n and_o life_n john_n 6._o and_o be_v not_o this_o somewhat_o more_o than_o the_o letter_n but_o last_o the_o word_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o word_n that_o christ_n speak_v have_v of_o the_o ignorance_n or_o prejudice_n can_v from_o this_o infer_v that_o there_o be_v not_o any_o degree_n of_o it_o in_o the_o world_n in_o former_a time_n and_o i._n a._n may_v as_o well_o argue_v against_o the_o scripture_n that_o because_o god_n say_v in_o the_o last_o day_n he_o will_v make_v a_o new_a covenant_n with_o the_o house_n of_o israel_n and_o write_v his_o law_n in_o their_o heart_n that_o word_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o apostle_n because_o the_o people_n examine_v the_o latter_a by_o the_o former_a his_o four_o argument_n be_v build_v upon_o a_o supposition_n that_o the_o scripture_n be_v the_o principal_a rule_n and_o consequent_o not_o the_o spirit_n inward_o dictate_v in_o our_o heart_n but_o he_o have_v not_o prove_v that_o the_o scripture_n be_v a_o more_o principal_a rule_n
