prove_v my_o thought_n in_o the_o night_n and_o see_v if_o at_o any_o time_n i_o have_v speak_v that_o to_o thou_o with_o my_o mouth_n which_o i_o have_v not_o think_v with_o my_o heart_n and_o albeit_o we_o have_v not_o as_o yet_o attain_v unto_o it_o yet_o be_v it_o that_o holy_a sincerity_n whereat_o we_o shall_v aim_v in_o all_o our_o prayer_n so_o to_o speak_v unto_o god_n that_o our_o conscience_n may_v bear_v we_o record_v that_o we_o lie_v not_o and_o that_o we_o have_v speak_v nothing_o with_o our_o mouth_n which_o we_o have_v not_o think_v with_o our_o heart_n we_o be_v therefore_o for_o the_o right_a order_n of_o our_o prayer_n prayer_n to_o take_v heed_n to_o these_o three_o thing_n first_o preparation_n before_o prayer_n second_o attention_n in_o prayer_n three_o reverend_a thanksgiving_n after_o prayer_n it_o as_o for_o the_o first_o as_o moses_n and_o josua_n put_v off_o their_o shoe_n before_o they_o come_v near_o the_o lord_n so_o be_v we_o to_o remove_v out_o of_o our_o heart_n unclean_a cogitation_n and_o affection_n whereby_o we_o have_v tread_v in_o the_o filth_n of_o sin_n before_o we_o pray_v for_o those_o be_v never_o lawful_a but_o most_o unlawful_a in_o the_o time_n of_o prayer_n as_o for_o worldly_a cogitation_n they_o be_v sometime_o lawful_a but_o never_o in_o the_o time_n of_o prayer_n as_o abraham_n use_v his_o ass_n to_o serve_v he_o for_o the_o journey_n but_o when_o he_o come_v to_o mount_v moriah_n the_o place_n of_o the_o worship_n he_o leave_v they_o at_o the_o foot_n of_o the_o hill_n so_o the_o thought_n of_o the_o world_n be_v sometime_o tolerable_a if_o we_o use_v they_o as_o servant_n to_o carry_v we_o through_o in_o our_o journey_n from_o the_o earth_n to_o heaven_n but_o we_o must_v not_o take_v they_o with_o we_o into_o the_o holy_a place_n wherein_o the_o lord_n be_v to_o be_v worship_v to_o help_v we_o to_o the_o preparation_n before_o prayer_n preparation_n let_v we_o consider_v first_o that_o he_o to_o who_o we_o speak_v be_v the_o father_n of_o light_n and_o we_o be_v by_o nature_n but_o the_o child_n of_o darkness_n call_v therefore_o upon_o he_o in_o the_o sincerity_n and_o uprightness_n of_o thy_o heart_n for_o he_o love_v truth_n in_o the_o inward_a affection_n second_o he_o be_v the_o father_n of_o glory_n come_v therefore_o before_o he_o with_o fear_n and_o reverence_n for_o thou_o be_v but_o dust_n and_o ash_n three_o he_o be_v the_o father_n of_o mercy_n repent_v thou_o therefore_o of_o thy_o sin_n and_o then_o draw_v near_o with_o a_o true_a heart_n in_o assurance_n of_o faith_n the_o second_o thing_n requisite_a be_v attention_n in_o prayer_n the_o lord_n to_o who_o we_o speak_v be_v the_o searcher_n of_o the_o heart_n prayer_n and_o therefore_o he_o to_o consider_v those_o petition_n which_o we_o have_v not_o consider_v ourselves_o we_o scarce_o hear_v what_o we_o say_v ourselves_o and_o how_o then_o shall_v we_o crave_v the_o lord_n may_v hear_v we_o we_o find_v by_o experience_n that_o it_o be_v not_o a_o easy_a thing_n to_o gather_v together_o in_o one_o and_o keep_v unite_v the_o power_n of_o our_o soul_n in_o prayer_n unto_o god_n satan_n know_v that_o the_o gather_n of_o our_o force_n be_v the_o weaken_n of_o his_o kingdom_n and_o that_o then_o we_o be_v strong_a when_o we_o be_v most_o fervent_a in_o prayer_n and_o therefore_o do_v he_o labour_v all_o that_o he_o can_v to_o slack_v the_o earnestness_n of_o our_o affection_n and_o so_o to_o make_v we_o more_o remiss_a in_o prayer_n by_o steal_v into_o our_o heart_n if_o not_o a_o profane_a at_o least_o a_o impertinent_a cogitation_n so_o that_o unless_o we_o fight_v without_o cease_v against_o the_o incursion_n of_o our_o enemy_n like_o abraham_n drive_v away_o the_o raven_a bird_n from_o his_o sacrifice_n unless_o we_o expel_v they_o speedy_o as_o oft_o as_o they_o come_v upon_o we_o it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o we_o can_v entertain_v conference_n with_o god_n by_o prayer_n and_o three_o god_n after_o thy_o prayer_n thou_o shall_v come_v away_o with_o reverend_a thanksgiving_n it_o be_v the_o fault_n of_o many_o careless_a worshipper_n they_o go_v unto_o god_n as_o man_n go_v to_o a_o well_o to_o refresh_v they_o when_o they_o be_v thirsty_a they_o go_v to_o it_o and_o their_o face_n towards_o it_o but_o be_v refresh_v they_o return_v with_o their_o back_n upon_o it_o even_o so_o do_v they_o sit_v down_o to_o their_o prayer_n without_o preparation_n pour_v they_o out_o without_o attention_n and_o devotion_n and_o when_o they_o have_v do_v go_v away_o without_o reverend_a thanksgiving_n whereas_o indeed_o every_o access_n to_o god_n by_o prayer_n shall_v kindle_v in_o our_o heart_n a_o new_a affection_n towards_o he_o if_o we_o consider_v that_o when_o we_o pray_v and_o get_v any_o access_n so_o oft_o we_o be_v confirm_v in_o this_o that_o he_o who_o have_v the_o key_n of_o the_o house_n of_o david_n and_o open_v and_o no_o man_n shut_v have_v open_v to_o we_o a_o entrance_n to_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n which_o shall_v never_o be_v close_v again_o upon_o we_o whereof_o their_o shall_v arise_v in_o our_o heart_n a_o daily_a increase_n of_o joy_n which_o shall_v make_v we_o to_o abound_v in_o thanksgiving_n make_v request_n for_o the_o saint_n not_o we_o have_v further_a to_o learn_v that_o none_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o prayer_n but_o man_n sanctify_v in_o christ_n jesus_n the_o spirit_n request_v for_o saint_n not_o for_o profane_a and_o impenitent_a man_n howsoever_o sometime_o they_o babble_v for_o themselves_o yet_o be_v their_o prayer_n turn_v into_o sin_n the_o curse_n of_o moab_n be_v upon_o they_o they_o pray_v and_o prevail_v not_o as_o without_o
