defence_n for_o first_o as_o for_o external_a doctrine_n you_o have_v receive_v from_o christ_n a_o unction_n or_o the_o holy_a spirit_n who_o inward_o teach_v you_o and_o confirm_v you_o in_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o doctrine_n of_o christ_n every_o one_o in_o his_o measure_n second_o that_o spirit_n remain_v in_o you_o who_o be_v faithful_a and_o be_v not_o take_v away_o from_o believer_n three_o you_o have_v no_o need_n of_o any_o man_n that_o may_v teach_v you_o any_o thing_n beside_o that_o which_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n have_v teach_v in_o the_o scripture_n and_o have_v confirm_v in_o your_o heart_n you_o have_v only_o need_v of_o exhortation_n that_o you_o abide_v in_o christ_n as_o the_o spirit_n or_o unction_n speak_v in_o the_o scripture_n and_o that_o which_o be_v in_o the_o scripture_n confirm_v in_o your_o heart_n and_o further_o instruct_v you_o out_o of_o the_o scripture_n do_v teach_v you_o in_o all_o thing_n necessary_a to_o salvation_n which_o spirit_n be_v truth_n i._n e._n the_o very_a truth_n of_o the_o scripture_n which_o be_v truth_n a_o confirmation_n and_o not_o a_o lie_n but_o a_o refuter_fw-la and_o hater_n of_o lie_n therefore_o their_o ambition_n avarice_n lust_n and_o earthly_a affection_n they_o become_v ready_a to_o sell_v christ_n and_o his_o truth_n and_o his_o church_n and_o their_o country_n and_o all_o when_o they_o find_v their_o merchant_n and_o the_o belove_a price_n offer_v unto_o they_o 4_o observe_v here_o how_o glorious_a soever_o these_o illumination_n and_o gift_n and_o tastings_n seem_v yet_o there_o be_v no_o further_o here_o grant_v but_o tastings_n to_o such_o rot_a professor_n that_o which_o they_o get_v be_v either_o only_a in_o the_o brain_n by_o knowledge_n or_o if_o there_o be_v any_o provide_v for_o sinner_n who_o be_v humble_v in_o the_o sense_n of_o their_o sin_n and_o no_o door_n open_v for_o presumption_n nor_o room_n give_v to_o profane_a person_n to_o go_v on_o their_o way_n be_v impossible_a that_o he_o can_v either_o lean_a to_o his_o own_o merit_n or_o live_v in_o the_o love_n of_o his_o sinful_a lust_n 5._o that_o by_o this_o covenant_n such_o a_o union_n be_v make_v betwixt_o god_n and_o the_o believer_n that_o the_o believer_n be_v the_o lord_n adopt_a child_n and_o the_o lord_n be_v the_o believer_n god_n all-sufficient_a for_o ever_o promise_v to_o be_v all_o to_o the_o believer_n which_o to_o be_v our_o god_n may_v import_v and_o to_o make_v the_o believer_n all_o that_o one_o of_o his_o people_n shall_v be_v verse_n 11._o and_o they_o shall_v not_o we_o and_o also_o our_o duty_n in_o look_v towards_o it_o as_o the_o price_n of_o our_o reconciliation_n 3._o in_o that_o the_o lord_n join_v the_o promise_n of_o put_v his_o law_n in_o the_o mind_n and_o write_v it_o in_o our_o heart_n with_o the_o promise_n of_o remission_n of_o sin_n he_o teach_v we_o that_o he_o will_v have_v every_o confederate_a soul_n that_o seek_v the_o benefit_n of_o this_o covenant_n to_o join_v all_o these_o benefit_n together_o in_o their_o claim_n with_o remission_n of_o sin_n seek_v to_o join_v the_o illumination_n of_o their_o mind_n renovation_n of_o their_o heart_n and_o life_n at_o least_o in_o their_o desire_n and_o endeavour_n and_o not_o to_o sever_v one_o of_o they_o from_o another_o but_o study_n in_o uprightness_n to_o have_v they_o all_o 4._o while_o he_o say_v he_o will_v remember_v their_o sin_n no_o more_o he_o teach_v 1._o that_o he_o will_v never_o forgive_v sin_n nor_o forget_v it_o but_o set_v it_o ever_o in_o his_o sight_n till_o a_o man_n enter_v into_o this_o covenant_n with_o he_o through_o christ._n 2._o that_o when_o he_o have_v forgive_v sin_n he_o forgete_v sin_n also_o whatsoever_o he_o remit_v he_o remove_v
