be_v so_o manifest_o clear_a the_o former_a rule_n with_o other_o of_o a_o like_a nature_n be_v serious_o consider_v as_o that_o it_o will_v be_v but_o a_o add_v light_n to_o the_o sun_n here_o to_o give_v demonstration_n of_o it_o it_o be_v so_o i_o shall_v take_v the_o boldness_n crave_v leave_n a_o while_n not_o to_o know_v your_o power_n or_o greatness_n nor_o any_o private_a or_o personal_a engagement_n which_o yet_o i_o remember_v with_o thankfulness_n have_v beg_v it_o of_o the_o lord_n and_o it_o be_v still_o my_o request_n that_o neither_o fear_n nor_o favour_n may_v make_v i_o it_o up_o long_o no_o not_o half_o so_o many_o year_n as_o some_o dream_n of_o age_n for_o god_n have_v number_v babylon_n kingdom_n and_o in_o a_o manner_n finish_v it_o the_o beast_n and_o the_o less_o clear_a and_o demonstrative_a than_o be_v the_o sign_n of_o thaâ—_n and_o although_o i_o be_o of_o all_o the_o most_o unworthy_a to_o be_v acquaint_v with_o they_o or_o any_o thing_n of_o the_o mind_n of_o the_o lord_n yet_o be_v it_o my_o persuasion_n that_o some_o of_o they_o be_v discover_v in_o the_o follow_a discourse_n and_o he_o that_o shall_v without_o prejudice_n read_v what_o in_o the_o close_o be_v write_v of_o the_o time_n and_o compare_v it_o with_o the_o thing_n themselves_o specify_v throughout_o the_o book_n may_v possible_o be_v of_o my_o mind_n at_o least_o not_o censure_v i_o for_o think_v so_o and_o if_o now_o my_o lord_n as_o person_n willing_a to_o be_v blind_v we_o shall_v shut_v our_o eye_n to_o those_o sign_n of_o the_o time_n god_n have_v leave_v we_o in_o the_o word_n and_o ask_v for_o other_o sign_n to_o know_v his_o work_n by_o and_o when_o we_o be_v call_v to_o do_v it_o it_o be_v a_o evident_a token_n even_o from_o our_o savior_n own_o word_n of_o a_o adulterous_a and_o apostatise_v generation_n i_o have_v almost_o say_v and_o if_o i_o have_v his_o word_n will_v have_v bear_v i_o out_o of_o a_o hypocritical_a heart_n my_o lord_n let_v i_o a_o sluggish_a temper_n not_o regard_v the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n nor_o consider_v the_o operation_n of_o his_o hand_n then_o of_o necessity_n must_v there_o be_v a_o reflection_n upon_o the_o public_a act_n of_o instrument_n either_o in_o a_o way_n of_o own_v or_o disow_v without_o which_o no_o observation_n can_v be_v make_v of_o god_n dispensation_n or_o our_o duty_n in_o this_o consequence_n therefore_o from_o this_o principle_n no_o truth_n must_v be_v inquire_v into_o but_o i_o have_v observe_v in_o this_o day_n a_o close_a design_n of_o the_o devil_n drive_v on_o under_o he_o in_o his_o great_a design_n and_o how_o provoke_v the_o thing_n will_v be_v if_o by_o any_o sleight_n he_o can_v but_o make_v they_o like_o peter_n across_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o way_n and_o thwart_o god_n in_o his_o work_n god_n as_o a_o man_n in_o like_a case_n will_v do_v resent_v one_o error_n of_o this_o nature_n worse_o than_o forty_o of_o another_o kind_n and_o know_v also_o that_o to_o say_v to_o they_o in_o plain_a language_n neglect_v this_o or_o oppose_v that_o without_o some_o very_a specious_a and_o glorious_a pretence_n will_v be_v no_o boot_n he_o therefore_o now_o come_v forth_o as_o the_o most_o glorious_a saint_n that_o ever_o come_v into_o the_o world_n and_o tell_v they_o that_o they_o must_v look_v to_o their_o own_o heart_n for_o this_o be_v a_o bless_a thing_n and_o therefore_o they_o must_v beware_v of_o such_o and_o such_o thing_n for_o if_o they_o once_o meddle_v with_o they_o then_o farewell_o their_o heart_n and_o to_o set_v a_o better_a face_n have_v you_o follow_v they_o 2_o i_o have_v learn_v likewise_o to_o discern_v somewhat_o of_o the_o depth_n of_o the_o heart_n which_o will_v exercise_v the_o high_a pride_n under_o a_o pretext_n of_o great_a holiness_n and_o humility_n for_o it_o be_v indeed_o a_o most_o bless_a thing_n to_o attend_v to_o inward_a purity_n and_o mortification_n wherein_o lie_v the_o glory_n of_o a_o christian_a now_o say_v the_o heart_n how_o strange_o do_v such_o and_o such_o contend_v for_o this_o outward_a thing_n and_o the_o other_o well_o i_o will_v follow_v none_o of_o they_o but_o i_o will_v attend_v to_o the_o mortification_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n i_o be_o sure_a in_o that_o i_o shall_v be_v right_a now_o with_o this_o conceit_n the_o man_n go_v on_o secret_o blessing_n and_o lift_v up_o himself_o and_o he_o turn_v he_o and_o look_v he_o round_o and_o lo_o all_o be_v out_o of_o the_o way_n but_o he_o pride_n as_o it_o quick_o grow_v upon_o such_o a_o root_n so_o be_v it_o more_o abominable_a to_o god_n by_o how_o much_o it_o be_v more_o spiritual_a then_o that_o which_o may_v you_o discover_v itself_o more_o outward_o yet_o let_v i_o say_v thus_o do_v the_o devil_n and_o man_n heart_n at_o this_o day_n marvellous_o deceive_v many_o precious_a saint_n in_o this_o thing_n who_o be_v apt_a to_o think_v that_o they_o can_v mind_v these_o thing_n and_o as_o they_o shall_v study_v and_o look_v to_o their_o heart_n too_o whereas_o indeed_o it_o argue_v a_o childish_a temper_n in_o a_o man_n to_o think_v that_o he_o can_v learn_v the_o thing_n of_o his_o heart_n or_o keep_v the_o same_o up_o for_o god_n any_o long_a than_o it_o be_v exercise_v in_o those_o truth_n which_o more_o immediate_o concern_v the_o heart_n and_o life_n and_o have_v their_o foundation_n in_o christian_a experience_n as_o if_o those_o truth_n which_o lie_v out_o of_o the_o reach_n of_o my_o experience_n as_o a_o christian_a and_o more_o immediate_o concern_v god_n cause_n and_o glory_n without_o have_v not_o in_o they_o as_o natural_a a_o tendency_n to_o give_v a_o soul_n a_o sight_n of_o god_n and_o as_o great_a a_o efficacy_n to_o cause_v the_o heart_n to_o cleave_v to_o god_n and_o walk_v humble_o with_o he_o as_o truth_n that_o lie_v within_o the_o râ—ach_n of_o my_o experience_n nay_o i_o will_v here_o be_v bold_a to_o say_v that_o that_o soul_n who_o faithful_o follow_v god_n in_o those_o thing_n wherein_o his_o glory_n be_v more_o immediate_o concern_v shall_v learn_v more_o of_o his_o heart_n as_o it_o be_v by_o the_o by_o and_o have_v the_o same_o better_o order_v then_o shall_v that_o man_n who_o neglect_v this_o make_v that_o his_o continual_a study_n for_o it_o be_v not_o by_o our_o pore_v that_o we_o come_v to_o know_v our_o heart_n nor_o
