and_o of_o their_o doctrine_n as_o be_v strict_a above_o what_o be_v write_v etc._n etc._n and_o do_v not_o all_o this_o show_n what_o be_v former_o say_v be_v apparent_a the_o lord_n help_v you_o to_o consider_v it_o that_o so_o you_o may_v take_v heed_n how_o you_o load_v other_o with_o such_o aspersion_n especial_o such_o as_o your_o own_o conscience_n will_v tell_v you_o walk_v with_o god_n in_o uprightness_n will_v it_o not_o be_v better_o for_o you_o to_o lay_v before_o they_o the_o truth_n of_o your_o way_n by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o confute_v they_o by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n if_o you_o be_v able_a so_o to_o do_v but_o your_o take_v this_o course_n will_v give_v wise_a man_n to_o think_v or_o at_o least_o to_o fear_v you_o be_v not_o able_a so_o to_o do_v or_o else_o that_o you_o have_v not_o find_v by_o experience_n the_o power_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n in_o yourselves_o for_o if_o you_o have_v you_o shall_v not_o need_v to_o fear_v but_o that_o it_o be_v of_o far_o more_o power_n to_o convince_v and_o prevail_v with_o person_n than_o all_o such_o way_n as_o you_o take_v for_o all_o argument_n although_o they_o be_v according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v not_o able_a to_o convince_v any_o except_o the_o lord_n go_v with_o it_o by_o his_o almighty_a power_n and_o therefore_o not_o such_o kind_n of_o course_n as_o these_o be_v which_o his_o word_n allow_v not_o of_o and_o therefore_o you_o can_v have_v the_o least_o hope_n to_o prevail_v with_o person_n by_o they_o but_o you_o may_v fear_v the_o lord_n will_v appear_v against_o you_o for_o they_o and_o so_o blast_v you_o and_o your_o way_n which_o you_o seek_v to_o set_v up_o by_o such_o kind_n of_o do_n i_o dare_v not_o think_v you_o be_v so_o little_o acquaint_v with_o the_o lord_n and_o his_o power_n that_o he_o put_v forth_o in_o his_o word_n when_o it_o be_v pure_o and_o true_o hold_v forth_o as_o that_o he_o be_v not_o able_a and_o willing_a to_o vindicate_v his_o own_o truth_n when_o it_o be_v hold_v forth_o in_o a_o humble_a manner_n without_o such_o sinful_a way_n as_o you_o take_v nay_o assure_o he_o will_v never_o own_o much_o less_o go_v out_o with_o such_o way_n i_o beseech_v you_o therefore_o fear_n and_o tremble_v to_o go_v on_o in_o they_o for_o it_o be_v just_a from_o he_o that_o you_o shall_v not_o only_o lose_v your_o labour_n but_o shall_v meet_v with_o disgrace_n and_o if_o not_o contempt_n for_o your_o so_o do_v for_o god_n will_v resist_v you_o in_o such_o way_n and_o beside_o the_o person_n you_o write_v to_o exhort_v i_o hope_v have_v not_o live_v so_o long_o within_o the_o bound_n of_o the_o province_n of_o london_n where_o the_o word_n of_o god_n have_v be_v so_o long_o teach_v and_o in_o such_o a_o manner_n as_o it_o have_v be_v and_o be_v still_o teach_v by_o some_o faithful_a minister_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n but_o they_o have_v learn_v to_o esteem_v more_o of_o one_o argument_n out_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n then_o of_o thousand_o of_o such_o kind_n of_o expression_n nay_o i_o hope_v they_o have_v learn_v to_o know_v the_o lord_n above_o such_o kind_n of_o expression_n in_o such_o a_o way_n and_o therefore_o all_o such_o who_o be_v godly_a will_v be_v so_o far_o like_a unto_o he_o as_o they_o will_v do_v the_o like_a especial_o when_o they_o be_v bring_v forth_o against_o the_o generation_n of_o the_o just_a as_o your_o own_o conscience_n can_v but_o tell_v you_o these_o be_v as_o have_v be_v former_o say_v at_o least_o some_o of_o they_o and_o therefore_o you_o must_v not_o think_v to_o prevail_v with_o any_o that_o fear_n god_n by_o such_o argument_n or_o rather_o by_o such_o revile_n and_o i_o desire_v for_o your_o sake_n you_o be_v not_o judge_v at_o the_o last_o day_n for_o railer_n and_o i_o fear_v you_o see_v so_o much_o yourselves_o that_o if_o those_o you_o so_o speak_v against_o if_o they_o shall_v speak_v so_o of_o you_o it_o will_v be_v esteem_v rail_v by_o you_o and_o that_o you_o will_v make_v the_o world_n take_v notice_n you_o do_v so_o esteem_v they_o but_o bless_v be_v the_o lord_n they_o do_v not_o so_o nor_o i_o hope_v will_v not_o deal_v so_o by_o you_o but_o will_v rather_o say_v the_o lord_n rebuke_v you_o or_o rather_o he_o that_o further_v such_o course_n and_o also_o pray_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v please_v to_o honour_v you_o so_o far_o as_o to_o make_v you_o see_v the_o evil_a of_o such_o way_n and_o be_v humble_a and_o also_o will_v bring_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o such_o argument_n therefrom_o as_o the_o lord_n may_v be_v please_v to_o go_v with_o all_o as_o may_v convince_v you_o and_o all_o those_o to_o who_o you_o write_v and_o all_o those_o that_o shall_v read_v what_o you_o write_v as_o you_o and_o they_o may_v have_v cause_n to_o bless_v god_n for_o while_o they_o live_v in_o this_o world_n and_o to_o all_o eternity_n and_o be_v a_o mean_n to_o make_v you_o and_o they_o to_o study_v and_o pray_v the_o lord_n to_o bring_v your_o heart_n into_o such_o a_o frame_n that_o you_o may_v be_v willing_a to_o find_v and_o also_o to_o submit_v unto_o the_o way_n that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n have_v appoint_v his_o people_n to_o worship_v he_o in_o which_o i_o hope_v will_v be_v the_o end_n and_o â—yme_n of_o all_o such_o as_o take_v pen_n in_o hand_n to_o write_v to_o answer_v you_o in_o this_o book_n that_o so_o truth_n and_o not_o victory_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o his_o will_n may_v be_v submit_v unto_o and_o not_o their_o own_o will_n may_v be_v obtain_v of_o all_o that_o love_v the_o lord_n jesâ—â—_n in_o sincerity_n and_o unity_n and_o love_v procure_v therein_o and_o contention_n and_o division_n may_v cease_v among_o we_o and_o that_o we_o may_v come_v to_o serve_v he_o and_o one_o another_o in_o love_n that_o so_o the_o lord_n jesus_n may_v take_v delight_n in_o we_o and_o dwell_v with_o we_o and_o in_o we_o and_o among_o we_o while_o as_o the_o way_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o if_o a_o person_n so_o do_v than_o you_o have_v power_n over_o he_o so_o as_o the_o covenant_n give_v you_o all_o the_o power_n you_o have_v over_o a_o person_n to_o exercise_v the_o church_n discipline_n upon_o he_o or_o else_o you_o have_v none_o and_o if_o you_o have_v not_o power_n over_o they_o that_o be_v in_o the_o church_n then_o wherefore_o be_v church_n discipline_n and_o therefore_o the_o covenant_n give_v you_o that_o power_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v necessary_a for_o that_o the_o church_n have_v such_o a_o power_n be_v write_v and_o must_v exercise_v it_o upon_o the_o offend_a brother_n and_o therefore_o by_o necessary_a consequence_n from_o scripture-ground_n there_o must_v be_v a_o church_n covenant_n which_o you_o may_v see_v there_o be_v more_o require_v than_o freedom_n from_o ignorance_n and_o scandal_n if_o you_o mean_v gross_a ignorance_n and_o scandal_n it_o be_v a_o truth_n and_o such_o a_o truth_n as_o be_v write_v and_o the_o lord_n have_v a_o mouth_n to_o speak_v and_o therefore_o we_o must_v have_v a_o ear_n to_o hear_v and_o a_o heart_n to_o believe_v and_o therefore_o it_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v reject_v for_o be_v we_o not_o bid_v to_o examine_v ourselves_o and_o be_v it_o not_o necessary_a to_o discern_v the_o lord_n body_n and_o also_o to_o know_v the_o danger_n if_o we_o do_v not_o come_v worthy_o all_o which_o person_n gross_o ignorant_a or_o gross_o scandalous_a can_v nor_o will_v not_o do_v and_o if_o you_o mean_v by_o freedom_n from_o these_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v whole_o free_a then_o except_o you_o be_v able_a to_o prove_v what_o you_o say_v against_o any_o that_o they_o teach_v so_o it_o be_v a_o slander_n and_o that_o which_o you_o have_v cause_n to_o acknowledge_v and_o repent_v of_o especial_o you_o have_v put_v it_o in_o print_n that_o it_o may_v come_v abroad_o in_o the_o world_n for_o we_o know_v none_o require_v any_o qualification_n above_o these_o and_o therefore_o i_o pray_v consider_v if_o beside_o the_o slander_n of_o that_o you_o hold_v forth_o be_v not_o dangerous_a to_o yourselves_o and_o those_o you_o have_v write_v to_o and_o also_o to_o as_o many_o as_o shall_v read_v your_o book_n and_o which_o be_v worse_o derogatory_n to_o the_o glory_n of_o gâ—d_n and_o then_o consider_v how_o you_o will_v answer_v for_o it_o before_o he_o at_o that_o great_a and_o dreadful_a day_n when_o you_o shall_v be_v call_v forth_o and_o must_v appear_v to_o answer_v for_o all_o you_o have_v do_v in_o the_o body_n and_o whereas_o you_o speak_v of_o person_n cast_v reproach_n upon_o the_o minister_n of_o christ_n i_o beseech_v you_o by_o this_o little_a that_o have_v be_v say_v if_o you_o may_v not_o fear_v it_o may_v be_v a_o just_a hand_n of_o god_n in_o what_o you_o have_v do_v while_o as_o they_o walk_v peaceable_o and_o conscientious_o among_o you_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o so_o you_o have_v do_v worse_o than_o those_o you_o condemn_v which_o have_v speak_v so_o of_o you_o for_o although_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v approve_v of_o that_o any_o shall_v reproach_v you_o but_o condemn_v yet_o consider_v if_o you_o have_v not_o give_v they_o just_a cause_n so_o to_o do_v which_o i_o hope_v by_o that_o time_n you_o have_v read_v this_o book_n and_o consider_v you_o will_v smite_v upon_o your_o own_o heart_n and_o confess_v you_o you_o therefore_o again_o and_o again_o take_v heed_n you_o be_v not_o find_v railer_n at_o the_o church_n and_o people_n of_o the_o live_a god_n and_o such_o as_o he_o will_v own_v at_o the_o last_o day_n and_o bring_v they_o in_o judgement_n against_o you_o for_o you_o know_v what_o become_v of_o he_o that_o rail_v on_o the_o host_n of_o the_o live_a god_n there_o be_v a_o stone_n come_v and_o make_v he_o fall_v upon_o the_o earth_n and_o he_o be_v destroy_v but_o you_o be_v not_o only_o of_o the_o host_n but_o also_o of_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o lord_n christ_n that_o stone_n that_o be_v speak_v of_o which_o be_v hew_v out_o of_o the_o mountain_n will_v fall_v upon_o you_o and_o crush_v you_o if_o you_o be_v find_v such_o for_o the_o church_n be_v compare_v to_o a_o army_n with_o bannor_n and_o the_o lord_n christ_n be_v their_o general_n before_o who_o you_o will_v never_o be_v able_a to_o stand_v if_o he_o come_v against_o you_o which_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o abundant_a mercy_n give_v you_o heart_n to_o consider_v of_o together_o with_o all_o the_o argument_n beside_o that_o be_v write_v in_o this_o book_n and_o also_o all_o that_o have_v be_v or_o shall_v be_v write_v in_o any_o other_o book_n that_o some_o or_o all_o of_o they_o may_v be_v so_o go_v along_o withal_o by_o his_o blessing_n &_o the_o powerful_a work_n of_o his_o spirit_n as_o that_o it_o may_v thorough_o convince_v you_o of_o your_o sin_n that_o he_o may_v follow_v it_o on_o to_o bring_v you_o to_o true_a humiliation_n and_o acknowledgement_n of_o it_o in_o such_o a_o public_a way_n as_o may_v be_v to_o hiâ—_n glory_n and_o your_o own_o peace_n and_o true_a comfort_n that_o so_o it_o may_v be_v pardon_v and_o your_o soul_n everlasting_o save_v and_o that_o it_o may_v do_v good_a and_o keep_v from_o evil_a all_o those_o to_o who_o it_o shall_v come_v who_o he_o shall_v give_v a_o heart_n to_o read_v it_o impartial_o which_o be_v the_o whole_a aim_n and_o desire_v of_o he_o who_o cause_v it_o to_o be_v print_v and_o to_o that_o end_n shall_v follow_v it_o with_o his_o prayer_n so_o far_o as_o the_o lord_n do_v assist_v i_o shall_v have_v write_v much_o more_o in_o answer_n to_o your_o vindication_n but_o that_o i_o have_v write_v so_o much_o in_o answer_n to_o your_o former_a book_n and_o not_o doubt_v but_o that_o other_o far_a more_o able_a and_o fit_a will_v give_v you_o full_a answer_n unto_o who_o i_o shall_v willing_o leave_v it_o and_o pray_v they_o may_v do_v it_o effectual_o and_o with_o such_o end_n and_o aim_v as_o the_o lord_n who_o be_v the_o searcher_n of_o all_o heart_n may_v be_v please_v to_o go_v along_o with_o they_o and_o it_o as_o it_o may_v become_v effectual_a to_o his_o glory_n the_o peace_n and_o comfort_n of_o their_o soul_n because_o the_o thing_n therein_o contain_v do_v concern_v the_o parliament_n and_o many_o of_o the_o godly_a party_n in_o the_o kingdom_n they_o have_v be_v such_o as_o have_v be_v approve_v of_o strengthen_v the_o heart_n and_o hand_n of_o the_o ungodlie_a and_o cause_v they_o to_o go_v on_o in_o a_o high_a degree_n of_o sin_v and_o to_o stir_v afresh_o in_o their_o plotting_n and_o contriving_n and_o act_n against_o god_n his_o truth_n and_o people_n and_o be_v not_o this_o breach_n of_o covenant_n and_o for_o bring_v of_o these_o to_o trial_n that_o they_o may_v receive_v condign_a punishment_n how_o far_o have_v you_o be_v from_o that_o when_o you_o have_v oppose_v open_o so_o far_o as_o in_o you_o lie_v by_o preach_v pray_v and_o write_v especial_o this_o your_o have_v do_v it_o and_o if_o this_o be_v not_o breach_n of_o covenant_n let_v any_o impartial_a reader_n judge_n 6._o you_o have_v covenant_v to_o assist_v and_o defend_v according_a to_o your_o place_n all_o those_o that_o enter_v into_o this_o league_n and_o covenant_n in_o the_o maintenance_n and_o pursuance_n thereof_o and_o this_o you_o will_v do_v zealous_o and_o constant_o all_o the_o not_o do_v what_o you_o can_v for_o they_o in_o your_o place_n but_o if_o on_o the_o contrary_a part_n you_o have_v speak_v evil_a of_o they_o preach_v and_o pray_v against_o they_o and_o so_o cast_v discouragement_n and_o dishonour_n upon_o they_o for_o their_o so_o act_v then_o let_v all_o that_o read_v or_o hear_v judge_v if_o this_o be_v not_o notorious_a breach_n of_o covenant_n and_o the_o premise_n consider_v let_v the_o reader_n judge_v nay_o let_v your_o conscience_n judge_n if_o you_o have_v not_o break_v every_o branch_n of_o the_o covenant_n and_o if_o you_o have_v than_o what_o thing_n be_v it_o to_o hear_v people_n say_v especial_o the_o people_n of_o god_n if_o ruin_n and_o misery_n come_v upon_o the_o kingdom_n we_o may_v thank_v our_o minister_n next_o our_o sin_n again_o consider_v the_o time_n when_o you_o do_v this_o when_o the_o great_a business_n be_v in_o hand_n that_o ever_o be_v in_o the_o kingdom_n and_o justice_n be_v in_o a_o good_a readiness_n to_o be_v execute_v and_o upon_o the_o point_n of_o execution_n and_o in_o such_o a_o sort_n as_o you_o can_v not_o but_o hear_v the_o great_a part_n of_o the_o kingdom_n be_v discontent_v with_o and_o that_o christ_n allow_v to_o have_v those_o oppose_v and_o speak_v against_o and_o dishearten_v for_o do_v that_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o the_o covenant_n call_v they_o to_o do_v nay_o to_o have_v such_o person_n stir_v up_o and_o inveterate_a against_o they_o that_o do_v it_o i_o beseech_v you_o consider_v and_o fear_v if_o herein_o you_o do_v not_o fight_v against_o god_n and_o will_v it_o not_o make_v a_o gracious_a heart_n mourn_v to_o see_v so_o many_o that_o call_v themselves_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n servant_n and_o ambassador_n of_o christ_n to_o go_v so_o direct_o against_o his_o rule_n which_o he_o have_v set_v down_o in_o his_o holy_a word_n for_o we_o to_o walk_v by_o the_o lord_n in_o mercy_n help_v you_o to_o consider_v it_o and_o lay_v it_o to_o heart_n but_o a_o company_n of_o godly_a people_n in_o their_o congregation_n that_o will_v have_v call_v they_o to_o a_o account_n and_o have_v power_n so_o to_o do_v they_o will_v have_v fear_v to_o have_v do_v such_o a_o act_n as_o this_o be_v or_o if_o they_o have_v they_o shall_v have_v be_v make_v to_o give_v public_a satisfaction_n and_o may_v it_o not_o be_v fear_v they_o know_v it_o well_o enough_o and_o therefore_o they_o think_v to_o make_v it_o sure_a they_o will_v have_v the_o power_n in_o their_o own_o hand_n that_o so_o they_o may_v combine_v together_o if_o occasion_n serve_v
