he_o have_v nothing_o in_o he_o to_o lift_v it_o upward_o but_o a_o godly_a man_n though_o he_o may_v give_v a_o little_a wâ—…_n to_o passion_n yet_o as_o david_n he_o recover_v himself_o therefore_o 4._o can_v make_v a_o good_a use_n of_o privacy_n when_o he_o be_v force_v to_o be_v alone_o he_o can_v talk_v with_o his_o god_n and_o himself_o one_o reason_n whereof_o be_v that_o his_o heart_n be_v a_o treasury_n and_o storehouse_n of_o divine_a truth_n whence_o he_o can_v speak_v to_o himself_o by_o way_n of_o check_n or_o encouragement_n of_o himself_o he_o have_v a_o spirit_n over_o the_o poor_a man_n that_o have_v none_o to_o govern_v he_o yet_o may_v be_v a_o king_n in_o himself_o it_o be_v the_o natural_a ambition_n of_o man_n heart_n to_o desire_v government_n as_o we_o see_v in_o the_o braemble_v well_o 9_o then_o let_v we_o make_v use_n of_o this_o disposition_n to_o rule_v ourselves_o absolom_n have_v high_a thought_n o_o if_o i_o be_v a_o king_n i_o will_v do_v so_o abide_v firm_a for_o ever_o though_o the_o whole_a frame_n of_o nature_n be_v dissolve_v when_o we_o have_v thus_o get_v a_o fit_a foundation_n for_o the_o soul_n to_o lay_v itself_o upon_o god_n itself_o and_o the_o spirit_n reveal_v it_o by_o its_o own_o light_n to_o the_o soul_n that_o soul_n which_o have_v feel_v the_o power_n of_o truth_n in_o cast_v it_o down_o and_o raise_v it_o up_o again_o will_v easy_o be_v bring_v to_o rest_v upon_o it_o it_o be_v neither_o education_n nor_o the_o authority_n of_o other_o that_o profess_v the_o same_o truth_n or_o that_o we_o have_v be_v so_o teach_v by_o man_n of_o great_a part_n etc._n etc._n will_v settle_v the_o heart_n until_o we_o find_v a_o inward_a power_n and_o authority_n in_o the_o truth_n itself_o shine_v in_o our_o heart_n and_o the_o gracious_a and_o happy_a estate_n of_o man_n in_o themselves_o they_o carry_v a_o divinity_n in_o they_o and_o about_o they_o so_o as_o from_o a_o save_a feeling_n they_o can_v speak_v savour_n and_o apply_v they_o to_o itself_o and_o then_o from_o a_o harmony_n between_o the_o soul_n and_o that_o which_o it_o apply_v itself_o unto_o there_o will_v follow_v not_o only_a peace_n in_o the_o soul_n but_o joy_n and_o delight_n surpass_v any_o contentment_n in_o the_o world_n beside_o as_o there_o be_v in_o god_n to_o satisfy_v the_o god_n whole_a soul_n so_o trust_n carry_v the_o whole_a soul_n to_o god_n this_o make_v trust_v not_o so_o easy_a a_o matter_n because_o there_o must_v be_v a_o exercise_n of_o every_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n or_o else_o our_o trust_n be_v imperfect_a and_o lame_a there_o must_v be_v a_o knowledge_n of_o he_o who_o we_o trust_v and_o why_o we_o trust_v a_o affiance_n and_o love_n etc._n etc._n only_o they_o that_o know_v god_n will_v trust_v in_o he_o not_o that_o knowledge_n alone_o be_v sufficient_a but_o because_o the_o sweetness_n of_o god_n love_n be_v let_v into_o the_o soul_n thereby_o which_o draw_v the_o whole_a soul_n to_o he_o we_o be_v bid_v to_o trust_v perfect_o in_o god_n therefore_o see_v we_o have_v a_o god_n so_o full_a of_o perfection_n to_o trust_v in_o we_o shall_v labour_v to_o trust_v perfect_o in_o he_o and_o it_o be_v good_a for_o the_o exercise_n of_o trust_n to_o put_v case_n to_o ourselves_o of_o thing_n ourselves_o that_o probable_o may_v fall_v out_o and_o then_o return_v to_o our_o soul_n to_o search_v what_o strength_n we_o have_v if_o such_o thing_n shall_v come_v to_o pass_v thus_o david_n put_v case_n 3._o perfect_a faith_n dare_v put_v the_o hard_a case_n to_o its_o soul_n and_o then_o set_v god_n against_o all_o that_o may_v befall_v it_o again_o labour_v to_o fit_v the_o promise_n to_o life_n every_o condition_n thou_o be_v in_o there_o be_v no_o condition_n but_o have_v a_o promise_n suitable_a therefore_o no_o condition_n but_o wherein_o god_n may_v be_v trust_v because_o his_o truth_n and_o goodness_n be_v always_o the_o same_o and_o in_o the_o promise_n look_v and_o god_n end_n and_o the_o end_n of_o all_o thing_n else_o concentre_v and_o agree_v in_o one_o we_o may_v aim_v at_o our_o own_o good_a so_o we_o bring_v our_o heart_n to_o refer_v it_o to_o the_o
