god_n &_o do_v receive_v many_o precious_a return_n of_o prayer_n as_o likewise_o that_o one_o who_o be_v exercise_v in_o the_o grace_n of_o repentance_n be_v god_n delight_n which_o be_v include_v in_o this_o that_o he_o do_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v well_o please_v in_o his_o sight_n and_o now_o in_o these_o word_n he_o do_v as_o it_o be_v answer_v a_o objection_n that_o may_v be_v propose_v about_o the_o impossibility_n of_o attain_v these_o precious_a advantage_n see_v his_o command_n be_v so_o large_a and_o that_o hardly_o can_v they_o be_v remember_v this_o he_o do_v sweet_o answer_v by_o set_v down_o in_o this_o one_o verse_n a_o short_a compend_n or_o breviary_n both_o of_o law_n &_o gospel_n viz._n that_o we_o shall_v love_v one_o another_o which_o be_v the_o compend_n of_o the_o law_n and_o that_o we_o shall_v believe_v on_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n which_o be_v the_o compend_n of_o the_o gospel_n &_o by_o this_o he_o show_v the_o christian_n that_o there_o be_v not_o many_o thing_n require_v of_o he_o for_o attain_v these_o excellent_a advantage_n but_o if_o he_o exercise_v himself_o in_o the_o obedience_n of_o these_o two_o comprehensive_a commandment_n he_o shall_v find_v favour_n both_o with_o god_n and_o man_n and_o as_o concern_v this_o precious_a grace_n of_o faith_n we_o have_v 1._o the_o advantage_n of_o it_o employ_v in_o the_o word_n &_o clear_v also_o from_o the_o scope_n as_o no_o doubt_n all_o the_o command_n have_v infinite_a advantage_n enfold_v in_o their_o bosom_n which_o redound_v to_o a_o believer_n by_o his_o practise_v of_o they_o and_o 2._o the_o excellency_n of_o it_o hold_v forth_o in_o the_o word_n in_o that_o it_o be_v call_v his_o command_n as_o if_o he_o have_v no_o other_o command_n but_o this_o and_o the_o greek_a particle_n be_v here_o prefix_v which_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o emphasis_n and_o force_n in_o it_o and_o this_o be_v his_o commandment_n but_o 3._o there_o be_v this_o also_o the_o absolute_a necessity_n of_o this_o grace_n hold_v forth_o here_o in_o this_o word_n his_o commandment_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v by_o propose_v of_o this_o command_n i_o do_v set_v life_n and_o death_n before_o you_o and_o that_o you_o will_v not_o conceive_v that_o it_o be_v a_o arbitrary_a &_o indifferent_a thing_n for_o you_o to_o believe_v or_o not_o but_o be_v persuade_v your_o everlasting_a concernment_n and_o last_o you_o have_v the_o precious_a object_n upon_o which_o faith_n which_o be_v justify_v do_v exercise_v itself_o and_o that_o be_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o no_o doubt_n faith_n be_v that_o excellent_a grace_n which_o do_v elevate_v the_o soul_n unto_o a_o sweet_a &_o inseparable_a union_n with_o christ_n and_o be_v that_o golden_a &_o precious_a knot_n that_o do_v eternal_o knit_v the_o heart_n of_o these_o precious_a friend_n together_o faith_n be_v that_o grace_n that_o draw_v the_o first_o draught_n of_o christ_n precious_a image_n on_o our_o heart_n &_o by_o love_n do_v accomplish_v and_o perfect_v they_o no_o faith_n

take_v hold_v not_o only_o on_o the_o faithfulness_n of_o god_n that_o he_o be_v a_o god_n of_o truth_n &_o that_o in_o he_o there_o be_v no_o lie_n but_o likewise_o it_o take_v hold_v on_o the_o which_o be_v the_o practice_n of_o believe_v abraham_n who_o consider_v not_o his_o own_o body_n be_v weak_a nor_o the_o barrenness_n of_o sarahs_n womb_n as_o likewise_o it_o be_v the_o commendable_a
