as_o much_o as_o lie_v in_o we_o to_o bring_v it_o to_o nothing_o as_o for_o they_o which_o pervire_v themselves_o they_o be_v not_o only_o culpable_a of_o take_v the_o name_n of_o god_o in_o vain_a and_o of_o false_o abuse_v it_o but_o they_o be_v rebel_n and_o traitor_n to_o the_o majesty_n of_o god_n for_o know_v we_o how_o to_o work_v any_o great_a outrage_n against_o god_o than_o to_o abolish_v his_o truth_n no._n for_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o belong_v unto_o he_o so_o this_o be_v as_o much_o as_o if_o we_o will_v pluck_v he_o out_o of_o his_o throne_n and_o utter_o beereve_v he_o of_o all_o divine_a honour_n and_o glory_n for_o this_o be_v do_v when_o his_o truth_n be_v turn_v into_o a_o lie_n whosoever_o therefore_o forswear_v himself_o that_o be_v to_o say_v whosoever_o take_v the_o name_n of_o god_o in_o a_o evil_a conscience_n to_o colour_v false_a thing_n to_o cloak_n and_o disguise_v a_o untruth_n to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v beguile_v and_o deceive_v other_o let_v he_o know_v it_o for_o certainty_n that_o he_o blaspheme_v god_n in_o so_o do_v now_o purpose_o i_o say_v to_o disguise_v a_o untruth_n for_o many_o dispense_n with_o themselves_o because_o before_o man_n they_o can_v not_o be_v convict_v of_o perjury_n and_o why_o they_o turn_v the_o best_a side_n of_o the_o coat_n they_o paint_v and_o trim_a their_o matter_n so_o well_o that_o it_o absolve_v before_o he_o when_o we_o shall_v have_v use_v such_o policy_n such_o shift_n and_o sly_a practice_n and_o so_o in_o sum_n we_o see_v that_o all_o they_o which_o take_v the_o name_n of_o and_o countenance_n of_o be_v christian_n that_o yet_o not_o withstand_v never_o know_v what_o it_o be_v to_o worship_n god_o to_o do_v he_o homage_n or_o to_o yield_v he_o the_o service_n which_o appertain_v unto_o he_o for_o how_o be_v this_o that_o the_o name_n of_o god_o run_v in_o every_o man_n mouth_n one_o can_v not_o bargain_n for_o the_o worth_n of_o one_o farthing_n without_o he_o there_o be_v nothing_o superfluous_a or_o more_o than_o need_v let_v we_o therefore_o diligent_o note_v that_o forasmuch_o as_o it_o be_v in_o this_o place_n handle_v and_o entreat_v how_o man_n ought_v to_o be_v conversant_a together_o in_o all_o charity_n and_o uprightness_n that_o although_o the_o name_n of_o god_n be_v profane_v in_o false_a witness_v the_o law_n notwithstanding_o be_v that_o when_o we_o shall_v come_v into_o judgement_n we_o take_v heed_n of_o hurt_v those_o by_o any_o false_a report_n any_o lie_v any_o forswear_n who_o honour_n and_o good_a we_o be_v bind_v to_o procure_v for_o he_o which_o shall_v bear_v false_a witness_n against_o his_o neighbour_n he_o slai_v he_o rob_v he_o as_o much_o as_o in_o he_o be_v and_o he_o do_v all_o the_o evil_n which_o shall_v be_v confirm_v in_o this_o which_o he_o have_v speak_v for_o he_o be_v not_o content_v to_o have_v speak_v for_o one_o time_n but_o have_v engrave_v his_o law_n in_o stone_n he_o will_v we_o shall_v have_v attentive_a ear_n to_o receive_v it_o all_o the_o time_n of_o our_o life_n now_o withal_o let_v we_o note_v that_o it_o be_v true_a that_o it_o serve_v to_o no_o great_a purpose_n that_o the_o law_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v engrave_v in_o stone_n if_o this_o be_v all_o what_o be_v then_o further_o require_v we_o must_v know_v that_o the_o doctrine_n of_o god_n propose_v unto_o we_o be_v indeed_o necessary_a and_o profitable_a for_o we_o but_o yet_o that_o it_o shall_v serve_v we_o to_o small_a purpose_n except_o god_n shall_v add_v thereunto_o a_o second_o grace_n namely_o that_o this_o which_o he_o have_v pronounce_v shall_v be_v imprint_v in_o our_o heart_n and_o inward_a part_n therefore_o as_o god_n with_o his_o finger_n that_o be_v by_o his_o divine_a power_n have_v write_v his_o law_n in_o two_o stone_n so_o must_v he_o now_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n write_v it_o in_o our_o heart_n which_o be_v of_o stone_n &_o full_a of_o hardness_n 19_o as_o the_o prophet_n declare_v when_o he_o say_v that_o god_n shall_v give_v we_o heart_n of_o flesh_n which_o shall_v be_v loft_n pliable_a and_o apt_a to_o be_v teach_v and_o to_o receive_v whatsoever_o he_o shall_v command_v we_o so_o then_o see_v god_n have_v visible_o declare_v that_o it_o be_v he_o which_o must_v write_v
the_o law_n to_o have_v it_o well_o know_a and_o understand_v let_v we_o make_v our_o request_n that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o by_o the_o virtue_n and_o power_n of_o his_o holy_a spirit_n to_o to_o the_o people_n that_o he_o may_v be_v acknowledge_v of_o they_o for_o a_o prophet_n for_o otherwise_o he_o can_v not_o have_v execute_v his_o office_n he_o can_v not_o have_v edify_v the_o church_n of_o god_o except_o man_n have_v know_v that_o this_o charge_n be_v commit_v unto_o he_o as_o at_o this_o time_n if_o we_o be_v not_o persuade_v that_o god_o will_v that_o his_o gospel_n shall_v be_v preach_v by_o the_o mouth_n of_o man_n that_o there_o shall_v be_v pastor_n in_o the_o church_n to_o carry_v abroad_o his_o word_n which_o of_o we_o will_v deign_v or_o vouchsafe_v to_o hear_v a_o minister_n i_o be_o not_o nor_o ante_fw-la creature_n beside_o of_o such_o dignity_n as_o that_o i_o may_v persuade_v the_o world_n to_o receive_v what_o i_o say_v but_o when_o i_o speak_v here_o in_o the_o name_n of_o god_n that_o man_n harken_v to_o his_o doctrine_n to_o rule_v and_o order_n themselves_o thereto_o and_o to_o do_v he_o homage_n behold_v this_o be_v of_o more_o force_n than_o all_o the_o law_n than_o all_o the_o statute_n than_o all_o the_o edict_n of_o king_n and_o emperor_n have_v a_o mortal_a man_n do_v this_o no._n but_o when_o we_o know_v that_o god_n will_v that_o this_o policy_n and_o rule_n of_o order_n shall_v be_v in_o his_o church_n and_o that_o man_n shall_v inviolable_o observe_v it_o that_o be_v that_o there_o be_v pastor_n which_o may_v bear_v his_o word_n abroad_o which_o may_v be_v expounder_n of_o it_o which_o may_v be_v as_o his_o messenger_n to_o announce_v and_o declare_v the_o remission_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o name_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n which_o may_v reprehend_v which_o may_v reprove_v which_o may_v comfort_v and_o exhort_v when_o i_o say_v we_o understand_v that_o god_n will_v such_o a_o regiment_n shall_v be_v in_o his_o church_n then_o be_v we_o ashamed_a to_o resist_v and_o withstand_v he_o which_o have_v form_v and_o create_v we_o loe_o why_o moses_n in_o this_o place_n say_v that_o god_n deliver_v he_o the_o law_n it_o be_v true_a that_o god_n deliver_v it_o to_o all_o the_o people_n in_o general_a as_o we_o have_v say_v why_o then_o be_v moses_n now_o the_o only_a possessor_n of_o it_o it_o seem_v that_o god_n will_v deprive_v the_o whole_a world_n of_o it_o and_o that_o moses_n only_o be_v privilege_v therein_o as_o if_o the_o law_n be_v write_v for_o he_o and_o all_o other_o as_o it_o be_v exclude_v and_o shut_v out_o from_o it_o but_o this_o be_v nothing_o so_o and_o yet_o albeit_o the_o law_n be_v give_v for_o the_o whole_a people_n moses_n be_v appoint_v the_o garde_a and_o protector_n of_o it_o and_o this_o which_o god_n have_v pronounce_v of_o he_o we_o must_v extend_v further_a as_o we_o see_v the_o prophet_n be_v appoint_v in_o the_o self_n same_o charge_n namely_o that_o they_o be_v as_o steward_n and_o dispenser_n of_o the_o treasure_n of_o salvation_n of_o this_o covenant_n of_o god_n and_o that_o this_o office_n be_v give_v unto_o they_o always_o to_o declare_v the_o will_n of_o god_o and_o to_o preach_v it_o unto_o we_o in_o his_o name_n and_o this_o be_v the_o general_a rule_n which_o saint_n paul_n have_v deliver_v 1._o that_o man_n ought_v to_o esteem_v we_o as_o the_o minister_n of_o god_n and_o dispenser_n of_o the_o secret_n which_o he_o have_v send_v the_o world_n now_o when_o saint_n paul_n say_v that_o we_o be_v disposer_n of_o the_o secret_n of_o god_o he_o show_v hereby_o that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o that_o we_o have_v the_o holy_a scripture_n that_o every_o one_o read_v it_o in_o his_o house_n but_o it_o be_v further_o require_v that_o it_o be_v preach_v unto_o we_o that_o we_o retain_v among_o we_o this_o order_n to_o be_v teach_v by_o the_o mouth_n of_o man_n that_o there_o be_v pastor_n and_o teacher_n who_o ministry_n god_n use_v to_o the_o end_n that_o when_o we_o shall_v hear_v they_o we_o may_v profit_v more_o and_o more_o in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n and_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o saint_n paul_n in_o a_o other_o place_n say_v 1â—_o that_o the_o church_n be_v the_o pillar_n of_o truth_n and_o as_o it_o be_v the_o safeguard_n and_o tower_n thereof_o the_o papist_n allege_v this_o very_o foolish_o to_o yield_v unto_o themselves_o a_o licentious_a liberty_n of_o make_v new_a article_n of_o faith_n and_o of_o establish_v law_n after_o their_o own_o fancy_n for_o saint_n paul_n have_v understand_v the_o clean_a contrary_n he_o say_v therefore_o that_o the_o church_n be_v the_o pillar_n and_o sure_a prop_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n because_o that_o when_o god_o publish_v his_o truth_n unto_o man_n by_o the_o law_n by_o the_o prophet_n and_o the_o apostle_n he_o will_v that_o this_o ministry_n shall_v endure_v and_o be_v perpetual_a that_o be_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v some_o depute_a and_o appoint_v to_o this_o office_n and_o charge_n to_o expound_v his_o word_n to_o edify_v the_o church_n in_o this_o sort_n let_v we_o therefore_o know_v that_o it_o be_v by_o mean_n of_o the_o church_n that_o the_o truth_n remain_v in_o his_o perfect_a and_o entire_a estate_n for_o when_o god_o raise_v up_o man_n which_o be_v endue_v with_o his_o spirit_n to_o confirm_v we_o in_o the_o faith_n to_o enlighten_v we_o and_o to_o show_v we_o the_o right_a way_n loe_o how_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n remain_v unto_o the_o world_n how_o it_o be_v not_o extinguish_v how_o it_o perish_v not_o let_v we_o then_o note_n that_o moses_n mean_v not_o here_o to_o make_v himself_o the_o only_a possessor_n of_o the_o law_n to_o exclude_v the_o people_n from_o it_o and_o to_o shut_v they_o out_o of_o door_n but_o he_o speak_v as_o thus_o unto_o they_o well-beloved_a it_o be_v very_o true_a that_o the_o law_n be_v common_a unto_o we_o all_o we_o be_v all_o the_o child_n of_o god_n i_o challenge_v nothing_o unto_o myself_o above_o you_o yet_o for_o all_o this_o if_o i_o will_v discharge_v my_o duty_n in_o the_o office_n wherein_o god_n have_v appoint_v i_o i_o must_v be_v a_o faithful_a expositor_n of_o the_o law_n to_o you_o i_o must_v be_v the_o keeper_n of_o it_o that_o you_o tread_v it_o not_o under_o foot_n i_o must_v put_v you_o in_o mind_n of_o it_o every_o day_n that_o you_o never_o forget_v it_o see_v then_o it_o be_v so_o let_v all_o they_o which_o be_v here_o appoint_v minister_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n take_v heed_n they_o be_v press_v and_o ready_a to_o serve_v and_o minister_v unto_o the_o ignorant_a and_o let_v all_o consider_v that_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o read_v the_o holy_a scripture_n but_o we_o must_v be_v diligent_a to_o profit_v therein_o and_o to_o come_v with_o all_o humility_n to_o hear_v they_o which_o be_v ordain_v minister_n of_o the_o word_n to_o deliver_v unto_o we_o the_o meaning_n and_o understand_v thereof_o thus_o you_o see_v whereto_o this_o text_n be_v to_o be_v refer_v now_o let_v we_o cast_v ourselves_o down_o before_o the_o majesty_n of_o our_o good_a god_n with_o acknowledgement_n of_o our_o fault_n pray_v he_o to_o make_v we_o feel_v they_o better_o than_o we_o have_v do_v and_o to_o lead_v we_o to_o such_o a_o repentance_n that_o we_o desire_v only_o to_o serve_v and_o please_v he_o without_o seek_v after_o any_o thing_n of_o our_o own_o and_o because_o we_o be_v so_o give_v to_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n pray_v we_o he_o the_o soon_o to_o draw_v we_o hence_o and_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n to_o give_v we_o his_o grace_n to_o order_v our_o life_n to_o his_o will_n and_o to_o conform_v it_o to_o his_o justice_n and_o for_o the_o do_v hereof_o pray_v we_o he_o that_o his_o word_n may_v bear_v such_o rule_n over_o we_o that_o we_o be_v govern_v by_o it_o and_o conform_v our_o whole_a life_n thereto_o until_o that_o be_v despoil_v of_o all_o our_o carnal_a affection_n we_o be_v clothe_v with_o his_o heavenly_a glory_n when_o we_o shall_v have_v need_n neither_o of_o scripture_n nor_o of_o preach_v that_o it_o will_v please_v he_o to_o grant_v this_o grace_n not_o only_o to_o we_o but_o unto_o all_o people_n and_o nation_n of_o the_o earth_n etc_n
