job_n thus_o begin_v 2._o all_o this_o long_a time_n of_o groan_v suffer_v i_o have_v find_v no_o ease_n but_o from_o the_o begin_n to_o this_o very_a day_n be_v cause_n of_o complaint_n still_o multiply_v and_o increase_v upon_o i_o by_o injury_n from_o man_n and_o calamity_n from_o god_n so_o that_o the_o sorrow_n and_o misery_n which_o i_o endure_v do_v far_o exceed_v my_o lamentation_n and_o be_v heavy_a than_o my_o groan_n can_v express_v 3._o o_o that_o i_o know_v where_o i_o may_v seat_n meet_v with_o god_n and_o how_o to_o come_v to_o speak_v with_o he_o that_o i_o may_v be_v no_o long_o keep_v at_o distance_n from_o he_o but_o may_v obtain_v access_n unto_o he_o though_o it_o be_v even_o to_o his_o seat_n in_o heaven_n 4._o that_o so_o i_o may_v as_o i_o long_o to_o do_v argument_n even_o plead_v my_o cause_n and_o maintain_v my_o innocency_n before_o he_o for_o all_o his_o afflict_v i_o 5._o i_o will_v affirm_v as_o much_o to_o god_n i_o himself_o as_o i_o do_v to_o you_o and_o will_v not_o fear_v what_o he_o can_v or_o will_v say_v against_o it_o 6._o assure_v myself_o beforehand_o i_o that_o he_o will_v not_o contest_v against_o i_o in_o any_o transcendent_a manner_n nor_o stand_v upon_o his_o rigour_n and_o power_n with_o i_o but_o that_o he_o will_v gracious_o enable_v i_o to_o speak_v the_o truth_n unto_o he_o touch_v my_o sincerity_n and_o to_o maintain_v it_o before_o he_o 7._o i_o know_v however_o he_o please_v to_o judge_n deal_v with_o the_o righteous_a here_o yet_o there_o they_o may_v speak_v for_o themselves_o and_o be_v hear_v without_o repulse_n a_o happy_a man_n therefore_o shall_v i_o think_v myself_o have_v i_o this_o liberty_n grant_v i_o for_o so_o i_o shall_v be_v free_v both_o from_o the_o slander_n and_o condemnation_n of_o my_o unjust_a censurer_n and_o also_o from_o the_o judgement_n of_o the_o lord_n transcendent_a righteousness_n and_o execution_n of_o sovereign_a authority_n which_o it_o be_v i_o can_v speed_v for_o he_o quite_o contrary_a be_v the_o further_o off_o by_o how_o much_o i_o desire_v to_o draw_v near_o to_o he_o 10._o but_o for_o all_o he_o keep_v at_o this_o distance_n gold_n and_o seem_v so_o strange_a to_o i_o and_o will_v not_o grant_v i_o this_o favourto_o admit_v i_o to_o plead_v my_o cause_n before_o he_o yet_o i_o be_o sure_a for_o all_o this_o he_o know_v i_o and_o my_o way_n to_o be_v such_o as_o i_o have_v say_v and_o when_o he_o have_v hold_v i_o a_o while_n in_o the_o fire_n of_o affliction_n my_o uprightness_n shall_v be_v make_v manifest_a and_o shall_v shine_v as_o gold_n in_o the_o eye_n of_o those_o that_o now_o through_o prejudice_n can_v see_v nothing_o but_o dross_n in_o i_o 11._o for_o i_o know_v and_o dare_v maintain_v decline_v it_o that_o i_o have_v be_v no_o such_o man_n as_o you_o suspect_v i_o for_o but_o that_o i_o have_v constant_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o the_o lord_n without_o deviation_n or_o turn_v aside_o from_o they_o for_o any_o respect_n whatsoever_o 12._o neither_o have_v i_o ever_o turn_v my_o food_n back_n or_o refuse_v to_o yield_v obedience_n to_o any_o command_n of_o god_n but_o contrary_o i_o have_v esteem_v they_o better_o and_o mind_v they_o more_o than_o my_o very_a meat_n and_o drink_n 13._o but_o that_o be_v all_o one_o for_o what_o the_o do_v lord_n in_o his_o infinite_a wisdom_n and_o good_a pleasure_n have_v determine_v with_o himself_o to_o do_v he_o will_v not_o alter_v what_o ever_o any_o man_n allege_v to_o the_o contrary_a and_o what_o ever_o please_v he_o however_o it_o beholden_a to_o thou_o by_o it_o who_o need_v nothing_o that_o be_v thou_o 8._o it_o be_v nothing_o but_o thy_o pride_n that_o man_n make_v thou_o thus_o forget_v thyself_o otherways_o thou_o must_v needs_o know_v that_o god_n be_v nothing_o bind_v to_o thou_o for_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v thou_o but_o that_o as_o he_o be_v not_o the_o worse_a for_o thy_o be_v wicked_a but_o thyself_o and_o such_o as_o thou_o be_v so_o on_o the_o other_o hand_n neither_o be_v he_o the_o better_a for_o thy_o be_v righteous_a but_o if_o thou_o and_o other_o like_o thyself_o do_v their_o duty_n it_o be_v they_o that_o fare_v the_o better_a for_o it_o and_o not_o he_o small_a reason_n therefore_o have_v thou_o to_o bear_v thyself_o thus_o high_a towards_o god_n prayer_n will_v better_o become_v thou_o and_o more_o profit_v thou_o 9_o but_o multitude_n of_o pressure_n do_v mighty_a usual_o transport_v all_o manner_n of_o man_n and_o make_v the_o oppress_a cry_n and_o keep_v ado_n when_o they_o suffer_v against_o they_o they_o suffer_v under_o 10._o but_o few_o or_o none_o be_v so_o wise_a in_o night_n such_o a_o case_n as_o sober_o to_o recollect_v themselves_o and_o in_o humility_n to_o seek_v to_o he_o for_o redress_n and_o consolation_n as_o to_o the_o only_o he_o that_o can_v relieve_v and_o glad_v the_o heart_n in_o extremity_n and_o grief_n 11_o have_v not_o god_n give_v we_o wherewithal_o heaven_n to_o know_v how_o to_o carry_v ourselves_o better_a in_o time_n of_o affliction_n than_o the_o beast_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o to_o be_v wise_a than_o the_o fowl_n of_o the_o air_n which_o can_v cry_v and_o complain_v when_o aught_o ail_v they_o by_o instinct_n of_o nature_n but_o reason_n and_o religion_n shall_v teach_v we_o a_o better_a lesson_n that_o know_v who_o hurt_v we_o and_o who_o can_v only_o heal_v we_o to_o wit_n humble_o and_o in_o faith_n to_o seek_v to_o he_o for_o release_v 12._o for_o want_v of_o which_o man_n in_o man_n pressure_n lie_v and_o cry_v like_o brute_n creature_n without_o either_o help_n or_o hope_v and_o so_o they_o may_v do_v long_o enough_o without_o answer_n from_o god_n except_o they_o humble_o seek_v to_o he_o in_o faith_n though_o they_o endure_v never_o so_o much_o violence_n and_o oppression_n 13._o for_o it_o be_v certain_a that_o god_n will_v it_o not_o show_v mercy_n nor_o grant_v release_n for_o the_o natural_a and_o vain_a cry_n and_o outrage_n of_o man_n in_o extremity_n however_o we_o poor_a man_n through_o self-love_n and_o humane_a pity_n think_v of_o they_o and_o be_v move_v by_o they_o yet_o the_o almighty_a regard_v they_o not_o but_o look_n for_o other_o fruit_n of_o affliction_n as_o that_o they_o shall_v seek_v to_o he_o with_o humble_a and_o faithful_a prayer_n before_o he_o will_v hear_v to_o any_o purpose_n 14._o wherefore_o although_o thou_o desperate_o he_o give_v thyself_o for_o lose_v never_o expect_v to_o see_v god_n gracious_a to_o thou_o again_o thus_o complain_v but_o not_o pray_v under_o thy_o burden_n yet_o i_o know_v it_o and_o dare_v assure_v thou_o of_o it_o that_o if_o thou_o will_v but_o take_v that_o course_n whereunto_o i_o advise_v thou_o that_o be_v to_o to_o hand_n not_o what_o humane_a reason_n suggest_v or_o what_o my_o weak_a judgement_n opinionate_v to_o be_v true_a but_o what_o by_o special_a inspiration_n and_o enlighten_v from_o above_o i_o know_v to_o be_v so_o whereby_o i_o will_v yet_o further_o disprove_v thy_o presumptuous_a taxation_n and_o make_v it_o good_a upon_o thou_o that_o it_o can_v otherways_o be_v but_o that_o the_o towards_o both_o sort_n of_o man_n bad_a and_o good_a for_o first_o if_o man_n be_v wicked_a and_o deserve_v punishment_n god_n for_o want_v of_o power_n and_o understanding_n let_v they_o not_o go_v without_o it_o but_o they_o feel_v and_o find_v he_o both_o wise_a able_a and_o just_a to_o give_v they_o their_o demerit_n and_o to_o right_v the_o poor_a man_n wrong_n 7._o and_o so_o in_o the_o next_o place_n if_o man_n exalt_v be_v righteous_a god_n be_v just_a not_o to_o forget_v such_o nor_o be_v he_o deficient_a in_o power_n to_o reward_v they_o but_o prefer_v they_o to_o the_o high_a top_n of_o honour_n yea_o and_o uphold_v they_o in_o happiness_n that_o nothing_o can_v hinder_v and_o in_o despite_n of_o all_o malignant_a opposer_n they_o be_v exalt_v by_o he_o 8._o and_o if_o it_o be_v
that_o humble_v himself_o mighty_a and_o seek_v to_o the_o lord_n he_o as_o powerful_o preserve_v he_o as_o he_o defeat_v they_o both_o from_o the_o bloody_a sword_n malicious_a mouth_n and_o destroy_a hand_n of_o the_o wicked_a be_v they_o never_o so_o mighty_a 16._o so_o that_o then_o it_o be_v certain_a that_o mouth_n the_o humble_a man_n and_o he_o that_o seek_v to_o the_o lord_n with_o repentance_n and_o selfe-abasing_a be_v his_o case_n never_o so_o desperate_a may_v ask_v and_o wait_v in_o hope_n but_o the_o proud_a presumptuous-spoken_a man_n disable_v himself_o for_o get_v any_o good_a from_o god_n 17._o behold_v then_o how_o ever_o thou_o almighty_a think_v and_o notwithstanding_o thy_o impatient_a outrage_n yet_o for_o certain_a it_o be_v a_o happiness_n to_o a_o man_n that_o take_v this_o way_n to_o be_v correct_v of_o the_o lord_n therefore_o let_v not_o thy_o pride_n make_v thou_o swell_v against_o god_n nor_o bear_v not_o thyself_o so_o high_a in_o thy_o own_o imaginary_a justification_n but_o rather_o improve_v this_o goodness_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o thou_o by_o make_v it_o a_o mean_n to_o bring_v thou_o to_o repentance_n and_o to_o humble_v shall_v then_o be_v so_o far_o from_o work_v thou_o evil_a as_o that_o they_o shall_v become_v god_n instrument_n and_o join_v together_o for_o thy_o use_n and_o service_n 24._o and_o moreover_o hereby_o thou_o sin_n shall_v find_v a_o wonderful_a change_n for_o by_o take_v this_o course_n thou_o shall_v assure_o have_v peace_n and_o be_v whole_o restore_v to_o thy_o former_a condition_n thy_o own_o eye_n shall_v see_v it_o and_o further_o thou_o shall_v have_v this_o benefit_n which_o above_o all_o be_v most_o to_o be_v set_v by_o thou_o shall_v then_o cease_v to_o sin_n and_o no_o virtue_n and_o powerful_a support_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n so_o that_o i_o shall_v make_v thou_o upright_o to_o be_v in_o love_n with_o his_o uprightness_n for_o the_o extraordinary_a support_a strength_n and_o courage_n which_o it_o enable_v a_o man_n withal_o and_o he_o that_o be_v true_o innocent_a shall_v learn_v of_o i_o not_o to_o be_v baffle_v out_o of_o his_o sincerity_n but_o to_o
