and_o how_o far_o they_o be_v from_o any_o show_n of_o christianity_n 3._o yea_o also_o many_o of_o the_o faithful_a be_v here_o to_o consider_v and_o reprove_v their_o way_n for_o it_o be_v too_o out_o against_o this_o truth_n and_o by_o no_o mean_n will_v yield_v to_o it_o that_o the_o minister_n who_o now_o live_v speak_v the_o very_a word_n of_o god_n and_o that_o the_o word_n which_o they_o hear_v be_v indeed_o not_o man_v but_o go_n the_o prophet_n say_v they_o and_o apostle_n be_v extraordinary_a man_n and_o furnish_v with_o peculiar_a gift_n for_o such_o a_o calling_n and_o with_o a_o unerring_a spirit_n therefore_o their_o word_n be_v infallible_o godâ—_n message_n and_o so_o to_o be_v receive_v but_o not_o so_o the_o minister_n of_o our_o time_n who_o have_v not_o the_o same_o gift_n but_o may_v err_v and_o be_v deceive_v true_a it_o be_v that_o the_o prophet_n and_o apostle_n be_v 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d so_o infallible_o assist_v by_o the_o spirit_n even_o the_o faithful_a themselves_o do_v not_o at_o the_o first_o thus_o know_v they_o therefore_o they_o examine_v their_o preach_n by_o the_o touchstone_n of_o the_o scripture_n paul_n be_v a_o we_o think_v the_o quality_n of_o man_n can_v alter_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n when_o satan_n speak_v 4.34_o thou_o be_v the_o holy_a one_o of_o god_n be_v it_o not_o the_o truth_n when_o balaam_n a_o their_o preach_n to_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n so_o be_v it_o likewise_o in_o the_o time_n of_o the_o apostle_n they_o ordain_v minister_n in_o every_o congregation_n and_o be_v not_o their_o word_n the_o embassage_n of_o god_n epaphras_n no_o apostle_n and_o as_o far_o as_o we_o can_v gather_v no_o inspire_v preacher_n yet_o plant_v the_o church_n of_o the_o colossian_n 5_o and_o the_o word_n preach_v by_o he_o be_v the_o word_n of_o christ_n the_o gospel_n the_o word_n of_o truth_n to_o conclude_v this_o point_n hence_o the_o word_n deliver_v by_o timothy_n a_o inferior_a minister_n be_v equal_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o if_o it_o have_v be_v utter_v by_o the_o apostle_n see_v 1_o thes._n 2._o 13._o nay_o it_o must_v be_v remember_v that_o those_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n 16._o he_o that_o hear_v you_o hear_v i_o and_o he_o that_o despise_v you_o despise_v i_o be_v not_o speak_v to_o the_o apostle_n but_o to_o the_o seventy_o disciple_n and_o then_o when_o certain_o the_o ground_n of_o this_o disobedience_n and_o rebellion_n be_v gross_a infidelity_n even_o a_o resolute_a unbelief_n of_o scripture_n 5.46.47_o have_v the_o jew_n believe_v moses_n then_o the_o rule_n of_o his_o spirit_n in_o preach_v to_o edification_n and_o labour_v to_o beat_v down_o whatsoever_o exalt_v itself_o against_o christ_n that_o every_o thought_n may_v be_v subject_v to_o his_o sceptre_n the_o less_o credit_n estimation_n and_o good_a opinion_n they_o gain_v among_o man_n the_o less_o their_o doctrine_n and_o person_n regard_v but_o if_o neglect_v the_o evidence_n of_o the_o spirit_n they_o stick_v their_o sermon_n full_a of_o rhetorical_a flower_n and_o witty_a conceit_n of_o man_n if_o they_o come_v in_o ostentation_n of_o much_o read_n store_v with_o the_o citation_n of_o poet_n rabbi_n schoolman_n and_o with_o the_o sentence_n of_o ancient_a doctor_n of_o who_o there_o be_v no_o doubt_n very_o good_a and_o much_o profitable_a use_n in_o their_o season_n the_o more_o they_o go_v on_o in_o this_o course_n where_o the_o conscience_n be_v not_o stir_v as_o be_v altogether_o loose_a from_o man_n the_o more_o be_v they_o admire_v repute_a and_o follow_v oh_o this_o word_n of_o god_n be_v sharp_a a_o two-edged_a deepe-cutting_a sword_n who_o downright_a blow_n cleave_v the_o heart_n of_o our_o sinful_a nature_n when_o those_o vain_a flourish_n never_o move_v we_o hence_o it_o be_v fear_v and_o hate_v by_o those_o who_o live_v in_o sin_n and_o resolve_v to_o rest_v in_o the_o form_n of_o godliness_n therefore_o that_o most_o fearful_a judgement_n fall_v often_o upon_o they_o 9_o there_o shall_v be_v like_o people_n like_o priest_n the_o people_n rise_v up_o early_o to_o follow_v drunkenness_n 12._o and_o the_o priest_n not_o after_o god_n but_o their_o own_o heart_n that_o they_o who_o have_v no_o pleasure_n in_o the_o truth_n may_v believe_v lie_v and_o vanity_n 11._o and_o put_v from_o they_o the_o power_n of_o god_n salvation_n may_v sink_v in_o their_o own_o perdition_n 3._o those_o be_v here_o sharp_o to_o be_v rebuke_v who_o have_v no_o relish_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n noâ—_n find_v any_o sweetness_n in_o it_o the_o complaint_n of_o the_o prophet_n be_v now_o verify_v in_o many_o who_o make_v no_o question_n but_o they_o be_v christian_n good_a enough_o 6.10_o they_o have_v uncircumcised_a ear_n they_o can_v hear_v the_o word_n os_fw-la the_o lord_n be_v unto_o they_o as_o a_o reproach_n they_o have_v no_o delight_n in_o it_o how_o woeful_a be_v their_o estate_n if_o ripe_a for_o hell_n certain_o where_o the_o conscience_n can_v but_o confess_v a_o life_n to_o come_v how_o fearful_a be_v this_o condition_n which_o evident_o show_v the_o soul_n to_o be_v dead_a unto_o that_o life_n dead_a in_o sin_n and_o trespass_n for_o what_o life_n can_v be_v in_o any_o creature_n which_o desire_v not_o and_o that_o necessary_o the_o mean_n whereby_o this_o life_n be_v
