and_o bewitch_v by_o their_o vain_a idle_a and_o forbid_a lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n and_o the_o mind_n they_o delay_v their_o preparation_n to_o die_v well_o until_o the_o time_n they_o have_v no_o power_n to_o reform_v their_o wicked_a life_n past_a so_o that_o their_o present_a lively_a carnal_a life_n be_v a_o begin_v spiritual_a death_n and_o the_o time_n of_o their_o foolish_o prefix_a repentance_n be_v the_o begin_n of_o their_o endless_a condemnation_n but_o the_o true_o wise_a indeed_o guide_v by_o grace_n have_v the_o time_n of_o their_o dissolution_n continual_o before_o their_o eye_n and_o in_o a_o holy_a meditation_n of_o death_n prepare_v themselves_o to_o die_v daily_o think_v every_o day_n they_o rise_v that_o that_o be_v the_o day_n of_o their_o dissolution_n and_o when_o they_o betake_v they_o to_o their_o nightly_a rest_n they_o recommend_v they_o to_o their_o bed_n as_o to_o their_o grave_n and_o persuade_v themselves_o that_o that_o night_n may_v be_v the_o dayspring_n of_o their_o spiritual_a and_o never_o end_a life_n such_o as_o thus_o prepare_v themselves_o have_v never_o any_o fear_n to_o die_v but_o in_o their_o heart_n wish_v to_o be_v dissolve_v and_o to_o be_v with_o christ_n and_o because_o that_o this_o holy_a preparation_n be_v not_o wrought_v neither_o can_v a_o man_n desire_n to_o leave_v and_o remove_v out_o of_o this_o earthly_a tabernacle_n by_o nature_n they_o can_v but_o natural_o fear_v to_o die_v and_o therefore_o when_o the_o messenger_n of_o death_n begin_v to_o summon_v man_n unprepared_a to_o their_o consider_v that_o death_n be_v the_o end_n of_o all_o flesh_n and_o that_o sickness_n be_v the_o forerunner_n of_o death_n can_v be_v sudden_o surprise_v because_o he_o still_o expect_v the_o come_n of_o that_o which_o whether_o it_o tarry_v long_o or_o come_v quick_o come_v it_o will_v and_o find_v we_o secure_a and_o wanton_a and_o careless_a and_o deliting_a ourselves_o in_o the_o strength_n of_o our_o sin_v part_n it_o will_v be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o grievous_a and_o irksome_a by_o how_o much_o we_o affect_v the_o strength_n to_o sin_n which_o be_v thereby_o weaken_a and_o to_o that_o end_n do_v god_n even_o in_o love_n punish_v his_o own_o child_n with_o sickness_n and_o malady_n of_o the_o body_n to_o kill_v sin_n present_o possess_v we_o and_o to_o prevent_v the_o power_n of_o future_a sin_v and_o threaten_v the_o stifnecked_a and_o rebellious_a with_o many_o infirmity_n as_o to_o smite_v they_o in_o the_o knee_n and_o in_o the_o thigh_n with_o a_o fore_n botch_v wonderful_a and_o of_o long_a continuance_n and_o their_o disease_n cruel_a and_o of_o long_a durance_n for_o as_o much_o then_o as_o sickness_n be_v both_o the_o reward_n of_o sin_n as_o also_o the_o physic_n for_o sin_n it_o imply_v both_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n towards_o he_o and_o his_o judgement_n against_o the_o impenitent_a and_o therefore_o whosoever_o thou_o be_v that_o be_v visit_v to_o the_o soul_n or_o body_n though_o god_n may_v permit_v a_o wicked_a man_n to_o be_v case_v or_o cure_v of_o his_o bodily_a disease_n by_o humane_a physic_n yet_o the_o soul_n lie_v still_o in_o contempt_n by_o custom_n and_o a_o kind_n of_o loathe_v of_o the_o word_n as_o a_o matter_n without_o the_o which_o his_o soul_n may_v live_v for_o as_o that_o meat_n wherein_o the_o pallet_n have_v no_o feel_n of_o a_o please_a taste_n delight_v not_o the_o appetiâ—â—_n no_o more_o can_v that_o word_n which_o be_v not_o savoury_a and_o delightful_a to_o the_o soul_n be_v please_v or_o profitable_a to_o the_o outward_a ear_n and_o consequent_o nothing_o comfortable_a to_o the_o unfeeling_a soul_n but_o it_o be_v not_o in_o the_o power_n of_o man_n by_o nature_n profitable_o or_o with_o comfort_n to_o hear_v much_o less_o to_o make_v true_a use_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n it_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n to_o open_v the_o ear_n which_o be_v common_a to_o the_o good_a and_o
